Lake view for basic food
This is a popular place on the lake that gets a lot of business. We went for a late brunch/early lunch. It was busy; there was a large group there for a kids' birthday party. There was a table at the windows overlooking the lake, but we were offered a table further back. We waited until the closer table was cleared. We had an omelet, sides and sandwiches. The food was good and was served with a short wait. A scenic place for casual dining.
Be the first to Reply550 Waterfront has it all!!!
You can not beat this spot. My husband and I showed up without a reservation. Racing season is over so off season. When we walked in the hostess was so very nice and found us a table by the window no less!! The atmosphere and view can not be beat!! They were playing great music and our waitress was very attentive. It was busy and no one missed a beat!! Now the food……Ahi tuna nacho’s, the steamer bucket, and the pan seared salmon over orzo salad. The food was amazing. Everything fresh and presented well. If we had two loaves of bread we would have eaten it all dipped in the juice of the steamer bucket. The orzo salad was absolutely delicious……wish I had the recipe. If i Cousl give this place 6 stars I would. it has it all…..great food, atmosphere, and service. Thank you 550 for a great night.
Be the first to ReplyDruthers 550 not that great
We have been there 4 times in 2 months. The setting is amazing and beautiful on a summer evening. At the reception desk the young staff was inattentive and more interested in talking to each other or on their personal I- Phones. At first our waiter was friendly but it became obvious that he had more tables than he could handle. The menu is somewhat limited ( compared to the menu at Druthers on Broadway). We had 4 different meals, all were ok not great or worth the prices. After dinner, it took 15 minutes to get our check (after asking our waiter). Then another 10 minutes for him to pick it up. Again, he was waiting on multiple tables. As a constructive criticism, perhaps a couple of mature (30 plus year old) on the floor management could observe and fix some issues. Also expand the menu. The setting is great, Track season is over, get it resolved before you lose more customers.
Be the first to ReplyFun place! Good food!
We had dinner at 550 over the weekend. It was a beautiful afternoon. Patrons included boaters and track goers. The bar was lively. We started with a Druthers staple - beer cheese sauce with pretzel bites. Any time I see smoked wings on the menu, I order them. The wings were delicious! My husband had the steamer pot and enjoyed every bite. I was impressed by the hard working team of servers and bussers.
Be the first to Reply10/10 All Around!! Come Here After The Track!
10/10 service! 10/10 view! 10/10 food and drinks! Had a party of 7 and we were well taken care of by Marissa (? 8/9/23 around 5p-6p) very attentive to the large party. Always made sure we had drinks full and fed fast! Amazing atmosphere, easy parking, right near the Saratoga Race Track and Saratoga National. So close! Right on the stunning Saratoga Lake! Staff accommodated our large party. We were very grateful and had a nice time due to the nice service and delicious food with a pretty view. Thank you to the team that worked dinner 8/9/23!
Be the first to ReplyWe nearly passed on eating here but was glad we did.
After reading the last few one submission reviews we nearly passed on eating here but one submission reviews are not reliable. Seated quickly our server was quick to get our drink orders and an appetizer started. Being beer cheese pretzels we were turned off by their looks but they were pretty good in the end. Multiple servers brought our drinks appetizers and checked up on us. Our food followed soon after our appetizers arrived. The food was very hot and fresh. The outdoor seating was nice however our table needed a wipe down as did the table next to us when others arrived. All in all it was an enjoyable meal nice scenery and we would return.

Gnats all through dinner; hot with no air circulation; food ok to good; service friendly, but very slow. Stay away .
Be the first to ReplyHorrible food, wildly overpriced.
My wife and I went yesterday as it was recommended by our hotel... we ordered drinks which were very expensive especially when they advertise you can but a 4 pack of their "druthers" beer for MUCH cheaper than eating there. She got a cocktail and it was very tiny but ok. I got a "smash" burger... OKAY, SO... a SMASH burger is placed on a cooking surface and SMASHED flat... the burger I got was basically a meatball: soggy, covered in plastic cheese and LTO you would expect from an Arby's. The bun was a dry brick and the fries on the side were burnt and had a tint of white from the pile of salt they put on. (Probably to get me to buy another wildly expensive pint.) The waitress came by and asked me about the food and I told her it wasn't what I expected because well... WORDS HAVE MEANING and you can't just call something a "smash burger" because it's a trendy word. It's clear to me that the cooks in this kitchen are BIG DUMB because all of the food looked like it was cooked by teenagers. They even burnt the chicken on my wife's salad. Service was fine, but you're a restaurant... I came to eat FOOD and when I pay 100 dollars for lunch it shouldn't make me sick. Never coming back and will let the hotel know that they shouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It's clearly not what it once was.
Be the first to ReplyGo For The View and Drinks, Skip The Food
Typical marina bar and grill like those found on most lakes in the northeast with significant boating activity. Nice place to relax and have a few drinks on a sunny afternoon or to socialize after a day on the water. The view of Saratoga Lake and watching the boats come and go from the adjacent docks is great. The cocktail list has several creative and tasty drinks to sample. There are also several wines offered by the glass. Of course as expected being owned by Druthers Brothers, the bar offers several choices of excellent beer on draft and in bottle. The food is a different story. My party of four shared several menu items and found the food to be mediocre at best. Prices were high ($19 for wings), but I guess you are paying for the location, not a culinary experience. I would stick to the drinks, enjoy the setting and skip the food. (Note: The restaurant and patio are easily handicap accessible.)

Loved the menu before Druthers this menu was not good I went twice this month with two of my sons and grand kids very little that they wanted. My grandson wanted regular bbq sauce they didn't have it..My son order one of the beers on the menu didn't have it I love fish not a great selection Views were nice but some shade outside would be nice Sun was blinding Would not recommend Loved it a few years ago things have changed but not for the better
Be the first to ReplySlow decline
We've been going to 550 since it was known as the Lake Local, and we see a slow but gradual decline in the food and quality of service. On our most recent visit, the menu has once again been 'updated' which means that nine of the items that I've enjoyed are on offer. I settled for the 550 burger which was overdone (and I was not asked how I wanted it prepared), and the fries were tasteless and also overdone. Wife had the swordfish tacos - ok but mostly veggies and very little swordfish. The venue is still pretty nice although starting to show a few frayed edges. The place opened on March 2020, but the laminate on the tables is already cracked and peeling. And as has been reported here in the past, the noise level is intolerable. It is a popular place, and the crowds pour in. Our waitress was barely able to keep up with her responsibilities.
Be the first to ReplySummer 2022
We actually visited 3 times over this past Summer, once with another couple. Sat both outside as well as inside. Great view of the lake and boaters. Great menu, location and service. Plenty of parking. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyNice but busy
We went for dinner on a friday night with no reservations. We thought going early at 530 would help to avoid crowds, well it was packed! Half price drinks from 4-6pm on a friday night draw a crowd. Regardless, we were seated easily and quickly in the bar area. Service was attentive, food was good and the lake view was nice.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced for what you get
My girlfriend and I stopped for lunch on a sunny day. The restaurant has open air and outside seating. The restaurant has a very nice view on the lake. There is a decent variety on the menu. I ordered chicken wings. Unfortunately, they tasted like preprepared food out of the freezer section of a grocery store. Price was definitely overpriced for 8 wings. Service was decent. Staff were all friendly. I would consider trying this place again, simply for the atmosphere
Be the first to ReplyStill like it a lot, avoid during high season
We have eaten at 550 waterfront 6-8 times, including the first week it opened and during covid. Loved the location and building from the start. Went there for lunch yesterday, September 10, after avoiding it all track season. No problem getting seated outside, service was fantastic. I had fish tacos (delicious), husband had fried fish sandwich (pretty good). My observations/advice: just stay away from this place during track, high summer season. It’s too popular, not worth the wait, they can’t handle it. Second, they have definitely “dumbed down” their menu since they opened and prices may seem a bit high for what you get. For $16 I got 2 modest sized tacos and a very small serving of potato salad. That was fine with me serving-size wise, but others might not agree.
Be the first to Reply550 reasons to love
I absolutely LOVE this place! It reminds me of Florida…with its’ wide open water views and outdoor seating. Their in/out island bar is truly a masterpiece and you will be a magician if you can make two seats appear together at it this time of year! By far my favorite place in the area to hang out and chill…
Be the first to ReplyWorst service I have ever had in Saratoga! Non existent waitress. Knew she was getting her 20% gratuity- disappointed!
Non existent waitress. Knew she was getting her 20% tip whether she provided good service or terrible service! Then when the check came we were told that the guests needed to pay cash only. No cards were accepted and we could use the ATM. I will never return despite the food being considered very good.
Be the first to ReplyWe were never served
We were seated, got water and then waited and waited for a server to come and recognize us. The servers station was right next to our table. They all congregated and no one even gave us eye contact. Never came. We left a few bucks for the busboy and left.
Be the first to ReplyAwful experience
The one star is because Saratoga Lake is beautiful. The rest included rude, disrespectful and disorganized staff. Salty food. Food was not good at all. No customer service. Staff on the defense throughout. No way to communicate with staff or management.
Be the first to ReplyLocation and food awesome, extremely understaffed to meet demand or catch up.
Everything about the place speaks of awesome - great location and facility; great experience with food so far. Service is below par. Those that are working are stretched way too thin. Not even enough bartenders (the big moneymaker) to come close to keeping up with demand. And track season hasn't started yet. Hope I can update the review, but for now it feels like the owners know they'll get a certain amount of business no matter what so it feels like there's little driving change.
Be the first to ReplyDysfunction Junction - But We Got a Tan
Something tells me there were a whole lotta bong hits going on with the kitchen crew. How else could it be so ridiculously slow at an off hour with the tables a third full? If it weren’t for our effervescent, helpful waitress, Juliana, we probably wouldn’t have eaten. In total, we were there two and a half hours for lunch. Wait time, 30 minutes, and the rest was unnecessary and interminable waiting for food, appetizers, and entrees. I know they bank on the scenery and the booze to quell the impatience and we did enjoy being lakeside, but NOT for that long. And then there's the mediocre food we need to talk about. We started with the room-temperature (as opposed to chilled) deviled eggs. What seemed nearly an hour later, we got our entrees; a fried chicken sandwich with no bread (at our request) and fish and chips. My husband asked the waitress to have the fried chicken cutlet placed atop greens in lieu of the bun. Instead, it came out solo, sliding all over the plate with dressing or adornment whatsoever. He declared it rubbery, tasteless, and terrible. Pretty sad when a KFC chicken sandwich blows a nice sit-down restaurant out of the water - no pun intended. My fish and chips were so-so, the fish was greyish and the fries were poorly cooked and had been sitting under the heat lamps 20 minutes too long. I had a lavender mocktail, which tasted adequate, but was tiny and hardly worth $12. Bottom line we wasted 2.5 hours and $75 on below average food. Never again.
Be the first to ReplyWhat happened?? Terrible burger, skimpy portions, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ETC
We were here last Spring and boy have things changed! The formerly juice tasty burger has been replaced b a thinner "smash burger" . Small dry burger, stale roll and the skimpiest thimbleful of potato salad you ever saw. I bet it was little more than a tablespoonful. DH said the burger tasted pre-cooked, and it was cold. I suspect they cook a bunch of burgers ahead of time, store them in a stainless steel container and then plop them on the grill to heat up as an order comes in. Terrible for $16. Wendy's Dave Single is better! The BLT was ok, tasty but the mayo was only a dab in the center of the bread. As a side, I ordered the greens. Well, let me give you a heads-up: it is a small handful of bagged greens in a 4" diameter tiny bowl. No dressing. When you ask for a little dressing, you get charged .50 !! Come on, 550, who serves a little salad with no dressing???? The greens were charged at $1.50 and not indicated on the menu. Again, a skimpy expensive portion. No re-fills on the$3 soft drinks, pleasant server didn't come around to see if we needed anything . In her defense, though, she did remove the charge of the burger from the bill. We left hungry and felt ripped off : when you pay $50 for lunch it better be delicious. This was not. Sorry to write a bad review, but this place is living off its location which is excellent. Nice view, the music was not blasting, thank goodness.
Be the first to ReplyGo for the food, but enjoy the cocktails.
The poke bowl was great, the swordfish sandwich was delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. I have been here many times and always deliver a good meal.

Wife and I have been to 550 several times since it opened in the new building last summer. The food is great, and the atmosphere/vibe is very nice. But we had a bad experience this past Saturday that we need to report. We arrived around 4:30pm, and there was no wait for a table. That was good. But once we got inside, things went downhill. The main issue was the noise level - the place was so noisy that we couldn't carry on a conversation across our table. 550 was developed by the Phinney Design Group, a local architectural firm that also owns the Local in Saratoga. The Local is small and has a low ceiling, and it's noisy. But 550 is very large with high ceilings. I would think that an architectural firm would have some knowledge of acoustics and would have provided some sound absorbing surfaces to manage the noise level. But between conversation and music, the noise was really unbearable. I understand that part of the vibe of 550 is the activity, and sound is one of the things that conveys that feeling to customers. But when the sound gets out of control to the point that it is painful, it drives customers away. The owners need to take a serious look at providing some acoustical treatment to manage the noise at 550.
