Skimpy salad
I stopped by the 99 restaurant in Haverhill Massachusetts for a salad with sirloin tips to go. I couldn't believe what they charged me $18.00 for The salad was maybe a cup of lettuce, 2 little tomatoes, I asked for extra onions and just got 2 rings of red onion... The sirloin tips were only 4 of then no bigger than a silver dollar size.... I had MORE dressing than salad... I'm very disappointed with this meal and will think twice about going again. Finally after a long absence due to Covid I went to my favorite 99 Restaurant for lunch. Disappointing. 1. One of my favorite meals was the Turkey Club Sandwich and I have been ordering it forever. It was no longer available on the menu. 2. So, I ordered the Baked Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp instead. The meal itself was delicious but it was definitely not "Jumbo" shrimp on my plate as stated in the menu description. 3. The fries did not have the same texture or taste as before. It appears they changed the type of potato they use. Also, most of them were overcooked. 4. Their prices increased quite a bit but that is somewhat understandable right now with the cost of food the way it is. But the 99 did not maintain the quality I have always received there.

This is the best 99 around. The service is top notch. The beer is ice cold. The food is good. Stick to the basics like burgers, Fish & chips, Chicken fingers and steak tips and they always do a great job. We were a little disappointed with their take-out during the Covid lockdowns, but in person dining is always a great experience.

Returned with beverage in a timely manner. Placed food order, 1 from kids menu, appetizers delivered by another server while we were giving are order. Food hot and as described in menu. Had some really good wings. Price was very good considering the quality of the food. Almost halt the price compared to Longhorn on some dishes. But almost as good as them

Stopped in for lunch on the way to a meeting at UMass. I went with the surf n' turf special, which wasn't bad. I was disappointed with the shrimp skewer, with only two there; I'd think three or four would be more in keeping with the dish. The two were well done and tasted fine. I don't know what I was expecting with the "scallop casserole," but it was more like small scallops broiled in a small ramikin. Again, not bad, but I'm not too sure what the "casserole" part of this was. The steak was pretty good, thin but tender, and tasted great. Lots of fries on the side. The real problem was my partner and her request for a grilled cheese sandwich. We asked for choice of bread and chose the wheat. The kitchen advised they could sex it up like a club sandwich, with a slice of bread in between. We declined that option, and just asked for extra cheese, no middle bread slice, and to please use the real cheese that goes on the burgers, not the institutional American that goes with everything else. What arrived was the club-style sandwich, with the extra bread slice in the middle, on white bread, with the institutional cheez...essentially just what we told the waitress NOT to make. Not too sure where the communication failed, but it was not what was ordered. I wanted to send it back, but due to time my partner just ate what was given to her. Service was good, and our waitress was friendly and engaged. Overall, not bad, but quite disappointing in that they sent out a sandwich that we specifically told them not to make.

The fish I had was dry and a very small serving. I was really upset because I have been to other 99's and they were good. The service was great it is not her fault the meal was terrible.

Always friendly service when we go there; glad to see more vegetarian choices; a little heavy on the out of the freezer processed food; great raspberry lemonade; miss the onion rings!! plenty of parking, very near to the movie theatre and Routes 110 & 3

This was the first place we ate when we arrived in Lowell. My husband absolutely loved his pot pie. It was on a special limited time menu. It was some sort of ribs or roast or something. I had boneless wings and potato skins. We had good food and good service. The bathrooms were clean. I'd return here again.
