A Pasta Bar (aka Sola Pasta Bar) New York Reviews from The Last Year

Food: 2/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Overall: 2/5 We had a reservation for the outdoor La Terrazza seating on a Saturday evening. Ordered the burrata which was the standout dish, with a berry compote and pistachio crumble, served with warm toasted focaccia bread. For entrees we got the Cacio e Pepe and Ragu - both were undercooked and the Ragu was severely skimping out on meat. Dessert was a Tiramisu that lacked authenticity and felt like eating large globs of whipped cream. Overall we were pretty disappointed in the pasta especially considering that Pasta really should be the star at this restaurant.
Attentive customer service the moment you walk in, came
Attentive customer service the moment you walk in, came during middle of the day so manage to get a table for 4. Love the atmosphere inside, not too loud. I got the paccheri salmone, very creamy flavor, touch of salt, the crude salmon had a nice texture. Also tried the spaghetti alle vongole, the clams on it were good. Would recommend this spot.

Great pasta been here many times love their tagliatelle Al tartufo and they a have a pretty good cacio e pepe. Tried their pizza al tartufo in the past and it wasn't great. At this point I come and just order the tagliatelle because it's minus one star because it's fifty dollars (cost plus tax not including tip) for this dish and the other dishes aren't phenomenal
This place was a pleasant surprise.
I've been living in Jersey City for a little over a year and I make an effort to go into NYC for dinner at least once a month. Let me say, this place did not disappoint!!! I got sucked into the viral food scene for a minute but always left feeling underwhelmed and duped. This was my 1st attempt to find a restaurant on my own (per Yelp reviews) and it hit on every level!! The ambiance, service, food, presentation and cocktails were all something to write home about! It's an F yes for me! My only regret is not finding them sooner and not ordering more. 10/10 recommend
Made a reservation at the chef's counter.
I think a table in the indoor/outdoor space would've been nicer. Once you see them make the pasta once there's not much else to see. We ordered the Uovo in Raviolo to start. Supposedly they only make a set amount a night. It didn't seem like a popular dish. It was good; I liked the creaminess. If I had bread I would've wiped the plate clean. But not sure it was worth $33; I guess that's due to the truffle. Then we had the tonnarelli cacio e Pepe and the bolognese. They were good but this wouldn't be my favorite place for pasta. We had tiramisu for dessert. We cleaned the plate! Overall we didn't love it and thought the $130+ bill was a bit much especially since no alcohol was ordered. I wound up being hungry later in the night!
The restaurant was really cool and has pleasant atmosphere.
Long table was good and well-prepared. Perfect for family gathering or business meeting. Amazing interior setting and it has good lighting. The outside was so cool too and perfect for dates, intimate vibes. The pastas were really good and so delicious. The Cotoletta Milanese were really amazing. The meat has nice quality and lots of tomatose. The sauce was so tasty. Love their cocktails. Perfect in every food.
A Pasta Bar I've been wanting to come here for a while to
A Pasta Bar I've been wanting to come here for a while to see if it was worth the hype, and it definitely was The Tagliatella Al Tartufo Nero is one of the best truffle pastas I've had, a must get at your next visit. This sauce was perfection, and the presentation of the pasta was unique. The Mezzi Rigatoni Al Ragu was a traditional bolognese sauce and was dull of flavor and delicious. Let us know what you think if you've also tried this spot!! #nycfood #nycfoodie #nycfoodphotography #nycfoodies #nycfoodgals #nycfoodfinder #nycfoodblogger #newyorkfood #newyorkfoodie #newyorkfoodguide #newyorkfoodblog #newyorkfoodblogger #eeeeeats #foodandwine #foodies #tryitordiet #devourpower #buzzfeast #eatfamous #forkyeah #devour #feedme #brunch #lunch #dinner #dailyfoodfeed #eattheworld #cheatdayeats #cheatday #cheatmeal #delicious
The service here is really friendly and attentive.
I would also like to add that the restaurant is well-kept and comfortable. In terms of food, I felt that the pasta was mediocre and not worth the price. The tiramisu was really good though. It was a good experience, but I wouldn't return.
I ended my evening with a late night dinner on a Friday
I ended my evening with a late night dinner on a Friday night. The vibe was lively. Very modern, farmhouse, chic decor. The music was also a vibe. Perfect for a first date. my server, Piero was awesome. He made great recommendations that I ultimately went with the chicken croquettes, buratta, cacio pepe, and the chocolate cheesecake. The croquettes were cooked to perfection with a beautiful crisp on the outside. The cacio Pepe was probably the best I have ever eaten in my life with the perfectly cooked al dente spaghetti. The cheesecake I was hesitant as I saw it was chocolate however it was the most flavorful and also one of the best cheesecakes I have ever eaten. Highly recommend. I will be back, many times lol. It's lower Manhattan so parking could be scarce I lucked out with a spot almost right in front as it was late night. The area is also very lively and plenty to do.
Finally made it to A Pasta Bar for my wedding anniversary.
I am a huge fan of all things pasta so my husband was nice enough to give me a night of carbs! Love the neighborhood in soho...great chill night vibes but also can be lively on certain corners. The outside is dark but covered with bright green vines and plantlife so that was a nice touch. Dimly lit, but not dark where you cannot see anything. Their menu is only offered via QR code so that was not an issue for reading purposes. Started with the Paolo from Venice and Viva Vida cocktails. Personally, I don't mind adventurous ingredients, BUT I felt these were a bit lacking despite all the frills they included. The Paolo had an entire tree in it and the whole pink peppercorns kept getting sucked up into the straw. The lil I was able to taste was nice, but didn't need all the accoutrements. The Viva Vida was good but it was hard to finish the whole cocktail without feeling a bit full just from the drink. NOW: Food was amazing! Started with the wagyu tartar and it was perfect. Cut into tiny cubes so not ground. Served with 3 pieces of brioche bread and a truffle aioli. The wagyu did not disappoint in the least. SO GOOD! Then we shared the Uovo in Raviolo and the Pappardelle Al Ragu. The raviolo was a single giant raviolo with a raw yolk inside along with a creamy ricotta and spinach. The buttery sauce and truffles on top just brough it over to the top! Super creamy and eggy with the al dente pasta. Chef's kiss! The pappardelle also was really delicious. The ragu actually had a generous amount of meat and the red sauce was not too thick but flavorful. The pasta cooked perfectly and complimented the sauce nicely. Did NOT leave room for dessert so next time we will have to try, but I am still dreaming and craving for more of their pasta and their wagyu. Def a date night spot or fun for small groups. We sat at the chef's counter and it was great watching the magic unfold right in front of us. We sat in front of the pasta burners but it was not hot for us at all. A Pasta Bar is def a place to be seen in your Sunday best and fun energy as well. We will absolutely be back again!
