This Michelin 2 star was everything you could imagine for
This Michelin 2 star was everything you could imagine for fine dining. We treated ourselves here in March of 2020 and loved every bit of this restaurant. This was my first fine dining (Michelin star) restaurant and will always hold a special place in my heart. Not only was the food memorable but I will always remember how we were treated. By the end of the meal we were invited back to the kitchen for a tour. The kitchen was beautiful and it was as if we were watching a performance.First, the service was exceptional they explained everything about each dish and met all the standards for fine dining. Everything about their dishes was amazing including their cutlery. I have never been so amazed to see such functional knives. I tried the A5 Wagyu with the tasting menu and was very impressed. they served the right amount as A5 Wagyu is greasy and you don't want to over consume this. We paired our tasting menu with the wine tasting, which if you are not a heavy drinker I do not recommend. By the third dish (out of 18) we had to only take sips of each glass as we began to get buzzed. If you are looking to drink though and can handle your liquor I must say they do provide you with a hefty amount. The wine tasting did pair heavenly and offered a wonderful experience to the dishes. The interior design feels as if you are in a home dining room, I love the casual yet beautiful interior design of this restaurant. I ended the night with some Tea and it was EPIC!! The best spread of tea I have ever had at a fine dining restaurant still to this date. If you love tea don't forget to end your dinner with this.

Ordered take out here a couple months ago and it was delish! We ordered burgers and a lobster roll, as well as the Fentimans cherry cola, mandarin orange and rose lemonade sodas. The sodas were so flavorful and sweet. We poured them into a bunch of glasses to share and taste which was fun. The lobster roll was good but by the time we got it home it was cold. We tried heating it up a little but it didn't do it justice. The burger was definitely the best part. Cheesy, pickle-y and medium rare-y goodness. If I were to compare it to other burgers in Chicago like the Loyalist or Au Cheval burgers id say it's not a good as those but it still is a very good burger. We really want to dine in at Acadia so when we do I will update my review.

** just received notice Acadia is closed until Sept 8, 2020 due to Covid-19Was an incredible experience last night (Aug 5, 2020) especially given the special considerations needed during covid-19. They have a new patio in front, with tables spaced appropriately, temp checked and hands sanitized upon arrival. They were running late for our reservation and were above and beyond apologetic in explaining to us. They sent us a complimentary sparkling rose at the end of our meal, which was not necessary but totally appreciated! To the food -- they didn't skip a beat with the steak frites and burger -- cooked perfectly medium-rare and glutinous to a tee. Will be back during covid or if/when we get thru this.
Be the first to ReplyWe had Acadia for the first time as take1out during COVID.
The burger is delicious, and worth every bit of $15 (which is a super typical price for a gourmet Chicago burger, so people who are complaining about that can get outta here). I docked a star for a fries They were good, but not fabulous and a pretty small portion. Didn't feel like good value. I'd try another side (or maybe even pick up Wendy's fries) with my burger next time. Staff was super organized, prompt, and responsible during COVID. South Loop appreciates you!
Be the first to ReplyWe ordered takeout several times during Covid 19.
We tried their Asian, Spanish and Italian food. All of them were excellent! I highly recommend Acadia!

We are so glad that we came to Arcadia We had a particularly bad experience at Mateys and we hoped they could accommodate our party of 7. And they did FANTASTICALLY! Peter was amazing and kind. Jason, our server even made us a fresh fruit dessert because they just had it lying around to make. There were hiccups with our alcohol orders as they weren't made correctly not once but twice - and Jason remade us something and it was spectacular! The food was ON POINT! 100/10 would recommend again!!!
Be the first to ReplyWe had a gift card for this restaurant and ordered takeout.
I arrived ten minutes early to pick it up and It was very disappointing--both the Reuben sandwich and the lobster roll weren't hot and were barely warm. The sauerkraut on the Reuben was actually cold and the lobster in the lobster roll had a strange menthol flavor. The accompanying fries were a very small portion and were limp and cold also. The chocolate mousse pie was way too sweet and didn't even have real whipped cream on it. We still have money on our gift card but because of the poor quality of the food we are not at all anxious to return.
Be the first to ReplyThe burger is fabulous and even holds up via takeout.
Same goes for the lobster roll. But hard pass on the Mac and cheese. There was barely any cheese and it was poorly salted. I threw out $14 worth of plain noodles.Same for the Reuben. It was cold and nothing special.

Acadia was my first introduction to serious fine dining in Chicago (before they had received their first Michelin star). Boy was it an amazing treat for the SLOOP locals as they were working their tails off to get that first and second star. The food and service were off the charts. We were quite pleased when they also offered a bar menu (this really fit the neighborhood well) as we sometimes just like to pop in for more casual food (one of the best burgers and lobster rolls in the world) and cocktails. The pandemic allowed us to eat here more frequently (burgers, amazing risotto, lobster rolls and cocktail kits) and we were floored with the chef's outreach to the community. His work will never be forgotten. Every time I eat a bite of his food, it tastes even better. We are already planning to order a wedding anniversary cake. This tiny side gig during the pandemic has turned into quite a production in our little neighborhood with a sort of a friendly comfort cake competition. I have never seen so much interest in high end cakes but the competition seems good for business and our stomachs.

My wife and I frequent Acadia since it's in our neighborhood, and because the food and drinks are always excellent. Their prefix is great but we love their regular bar - a very underrated spot in my opinion. The drinks are great and essentially the same for both the bar and back of the house. The bar food tastes like it's made with the same care as the prefix menu but it's much more affordable. Get.the.burgerrrRRRrrr.
