Amal Miami Reviews from The Last Year
Amal Staff NEED IMMEDIATED TRAINING.
I took a client to Amal last night for dinner. The Restaurant is beautiful and upscale in Coconut Grove. I made a reservation for 8 pm and when I arrived exactly at that time the hostess told me that she did not have a dinner table for us and said, "oh your reservation was made as an overbooked reservation, so we don't have a table for you. However, we have a high-top bar table for you". Meanwhile the restaurant was 40% occupied and clearly table were empty. She said go to the bar and we will get you if a table of 2 doesn't show up in 15 minutes. Wow, I had a reservation, no drinks were offered to us, as second-class patrons while we waited. I went back to the hostess stand 30 minutes later and she seated us at the same table, in an area that was not occupied when we first came in. We ordered dinner and was told that we had to order everything at that moment. the food was severed. Thirty minutes later and without exaggeration, the staff wanted to clear plates. It can be quite frustrating when restaurant staff constantly hovers around your table, pressuring you to clear your plates. We felt like we had our hands over the plates protecting our remaining food for 20 minutes or more before we finally gave up, paid the bill and left. It was a complete disruption in our dining experience and made us feel totally uncomfortable. Ideally, Amal restaurant staff should strike a balance between attentive service and giving diners space to enjoy their meal at their own pace. We were only seated for 50 minutes, from start to finish. Amal needs training 1000% .
Great place to have Lebanese food in Coconut Grove! The
Great place to have Lebanese food in Coconut Grove! The restaurant is very aesthetic from the moment you walk in. We decided to sit at the bar. The drinks were delicious and we had great service from our bartender. We tried about 4 of their drinks and a lychee martini. It was one of the best lychee martinis I have had in a long time. We shared a few plates: kibbeh, hummus dip, baba ghanoush, truffle rakakat, and falafel. Everything we had was delicious. The truffle rakakat was the best thing we had! I am still dreaming about them. We ended our meal with the date cake which was the perfect ending to our meal. It was the perfect bite.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday after numerous rave reviews of this place. Off the first impression, I loved the inside decor. It was super vibey and comfy (I'm a big fan of comfy couches for seating). I also loved that they had the windows open so the nice breeze was coming in, it was perfect. As for food, for appetizers we got the octopus, the Amal hummus (without pine nuts due to an allergy) and the halloumi. The appetizers were the best food of the night, everything was delicious and 10/10. They initially brought out the hummus with pine nuts accidentally as the table next to us ordered it at the same time as us, but after alerting the staff they were quick to fix the situation and make sure everything was okay. As for the drinks, they were both aesthetically pleasing and very pretty and tasted even better, not too sweet which is how I like them. For dinner, I got the kebab with beef and lamb and was very disappointed. It tasted flavorless and dry and definitely needed a sauce on it or dipping sauce on the side. My boyfriend got the lamb chops and he was kind of indifferent to them but I personally thought they tasted great (he's a snob when it comes to meat). We also got a side of fries and asked for them to be a xtra crispy and they were sooo good. They had a really nice seasoning on them which I loved. They also gave us a free dessert with a candle and happy birthday chocolate plaque for my boyfriend's birthday! Will definitely be back.
Amal is a beautiful restaurant in Coconut Grove.
It serves Mediterranean food in an upscale setting. The decor is lovely. The bar area is small but inviting. The staff is very pleasant & efficient. The food was fresh & delicious.
This place was recommended and it didn't disappoint at all.
From food to decor to service. My friend got the lamb chops (100 x better then the last place) and I got apps and everything was great. Her lamb chops wasn't gamey at all and had great flavor. We also got hummus excellent, grape leafs also excellent, kibbeh two ways, fried and also tried the tartare one. Gonn be honest accidentally order the tartare one not thinking but it didn't disappoint at all. Having it with the mint or slices of jalapeño was the bomb. Our server was excellent and even the manager came over and told us it will be a few more minutes. It was a Wednesday night and they was 98% full at 9pm when we left. They do have a little street parking or you pay to park in the lot. When I come back to town I will be back here.
I went to Amal last night.
The place is beautiful as well as the vibe. Food was good (we only shared appetizers and dessert ) ordered a couple of drinks plus a bottle of wine. Our waitress was good and attentive. Only complaint: we had reservations for standard seating ;and were late for the reservations and I contacted the restaurant to let them know that we will be late . They said no problem. We arrived and the hostess's greeted us and told us that the only thing they had available at the moment was high top tables . I asked her if there was a wait for standard seating because we would not mind waiting ... she told us "actually there is no more standard seating available for tonight" hmmmm there were a few tables empty at the moment .. I said cool .. I don not mind a high top. Well ... those tables that were available when we arrived remained empty for the rapt of the night .. we spend close to three hours at the place as we were having a good time but I could not help but notice that detail. That is the reason for my 3 star review . You must adjust your policy about that or maybe the hostess needs a little bit of more training regarding that.
Totally overpriced…
Very bad seating in the courtyard just behind very noisy Air conditions - DONT choose to sit outside.. totally “un-cosy” and NOT at all like inside interior… food was OK but totally over priced.. example - 4 slises of Halloumi.. 18 USD + tax and tips … Wildly over priced…
Overall I had a great experience at Amal.
I really liked the vibe. Very cool. very chill. Very nice decor. The service was also exceptional. From the host, to the bar, to the table service, ....everything was on point. Drinks were well done. There is better than average menu for cocktails and wine. The food menu is also interesting with many good options for appetizers and entrees. We ordered the sampler platter and the baba ganoush and the hummus were the stars, grapes leaves were decent. We ordered the kabobs for two. The pistachio encrusted one was my favorite, followed but the beef and chicken, which were a tie. Sadly, they were out of baklava for dessert, so I passed on this course. The bill was not a deal, but not any different than most places in Miami. Overall, very good experience.
Absolutely LOVED this place! Came here on a Saturday
Absolutely LOVED this place! Came here on a Saturday evening with a party of 3 and no reservation and they were still able to get us a table right away. As soon as we walked in we fell in love with the decor and ambiance. And as soon as we were greeted with a smile and seated right away we knew the service was going to be good. And if you live in Miami you know what a rarity that is to find, let alone on a Saturday night. They had some really good recommendations. I ordered the salmon entree, my husband ordered the eggplant dish and falafel, and our friend ordered the Kefta Kabob. We had absolutely no complaints! And the dishes were a good size! The salmon was huge! I had to give my husband half of it. We will absolutely be back. It was such a great experience!
Girls Night Out had to include a beautiful dinner at Amal!
Girls Night Out had to include a beautiful dinner at Amal! The staff were very attentive and made wonderful recommendations for both food and drinks -- we ordered a variety of items and shared nearly all of the plates and platters. Every single thing we ordered was delicious - you cannot go wrong!
Very nice place! The servers where amazing and they
Very nice place! The servers where amazing and they recommended and explained every plate. We had a few appetizers to share and two desserts! Everything was delicious!!!!! I recommend the grape leaves and the Kanafeh!
Very good
Really nice and nice restaurant. Excellent quality food, the nice thing is that you can order dishes and share them with others. Special dishes and lots of choice
GREAT FOOD! I feel like so many restaurants in Coconut
GREAT FOOD! I feel like so many restaurants in Coconut Grove are so beautiful and have great ambience but not the best food. Amal is great!! Not the biggest fan of middle eastern but this is the one exception. Waiter knew what he was doing and very knowledgeable of the menu. Service was great. I've been craving this place since I visited last month!
I went to Amal go celebrate my birthday.
The service was a bit slow. The server was doing his best to accommodate on such a busy night. They simply forgot to bring me an appetizer and the manager came over to apologize. I was not blown away by the good as I may have just ordered the wrong things. The lamb was ok. I eyed a few other options on the menus and on other people's tables and will give it another try again soon. The ambiance is very nice and it seems to be a great spot for drinks and apps.
Food was mediocre and service was atrocious.
Managers were rude and disengaged. Didnt say hello or goodbye.
Was expecting more
Solid plus food and a beautiful decor. Thats it. Was expecting more given the reviews. Apps were especially forgettable.
One of my favorite.
Beautiful place with good energy and amazing food. To our disappointment, the service on our last visit was not great. It was an early dinner and really everyone looked distracted. It took forever just to get water and get someone to help our table even though it was pretty empty. Previous experience in terms of service was GREAT so I'll still give them 5 stars in hopes it was an anomaly.
The parking lot next door is still a nightmare.
Didn't see a valet option up in front. Walking inside is very beautiful. Elegant. Mix of security and hosts. Happening bar area. Separate dining area. Outdoor options. Service was good. Efficient. Food was flavorful. My favorite tonight was the appetizer muhammara. The pita bread is subpar-average. My second favorite sample was probably the shrimp dish. All other food was nice, as expected didn't have a wow factor. The date cake was nice. They added a nice birthday chocolate, a nice touch. It's a place I'm happy to visit when friends or family want to go but not a place I'd go out of my way to visit on my own.

This was our 2nd time and it did not disappoint! Upon arriving the hostess was sweet and sat us in a high top table with a view of the street traffic. Very romantic seating! The ambiance is classy. food was delicious and our server was so attentive and sweet! His name was Staz. We had the platter for two that came with a variety of meats from kefta, chicken kabobs, steak kabobs and grilled vegetables served with warm pita bread. Delicious! The falafel was fresh and perfect in every bite. We ended the wonderful evening with mint tea served with knafeh and date cake for dessert. We were greeted by Mauro and shared our wonderful conversation with him! Overall one of my favorites for Lebanese food!

We recently went to Amal for lunch with a friend of us who is from Lebanon Our overall experience was great just like the time when we visited a year or so back for dinner First reg ambience, our friend was impressed that it brought back memory to Beirut and how tastefully Amal managed to capture with the greenery around. He was so impressed that he called his Mother in Beirut to share with her Our friend ordered all the food and chicken shawarma was out of the world. The appetizers were great as well, very authentic We were so happy that our friend was able to enjoy the food The service was prompt, friendly and professional Will definitely visit again and highly recommend the place
Perfect
Everything was perfect: ambience, drinks, food, and service. We were a group of 10 and enjoyed one of the family style set menus. It was one of the best dinner experiences that I have had in Miami. I will definitely return.
Good service, great food .
Vegetarian options available.. Great Ambiance and good vibes . Great for lunches and dinner
this place is beautiful.
This is in the Grove with Middle Eastern food. I really went to see a friend whose a belly dancer and the show was great. I ordered two appetizers one was the Fattoush salad but I didn't. I didn't enjoy it. They put too much dressing on it and it just wasn't the right balance of all the ingredients for me. It was OK but it wasn't great. i loved the Muhammara fire roasted red pepper with walnuts and spices eat it with pita bread. It was delicious I would go back just for that I do want to go there for a regular meal but that was just two appetizers that I had that night. the service was good, and the place is pretty.
We went for lunch and the food was great but service bad
We went for lunch and the food was great but service bad and confusing. I speak both English and Spanish but the waiter couldn't communicate well and didn't know the dishes.
The food was incredible! You must try the truffle rakakat
The food was incredible! You must try the truffle rakakat and the hummus with filet. Service was quick and our server was warm and friendly. We had an intimate table on the patio with low lighting. Definitely coming back.
was tricked with double tip
The food was very good and the meat served was of high quality but the service was very pushy and there was 20% service on the bill and the waiter used the credit card machine to get a second tip without any notice. This is attempted and often successful fraud on tourists. Therefore no recommendation. Never again Amal! Shukran Amal!
Brought my parents in law alongside my family : she is 83 and he is 87 . His origin is from Syria and Lebanon and told me that reminds the roots of the good food and the mid eastern hospitality. The special sauce was the egyptian waiter : polite, gentle and with a great knowledge! Moataz! Deserves your visit.
Best Lebanese Restaurant!
We recently dined at Amal and were thoroughly impressed with the excellent customer service provided by our waitresses, Sam & Fabio. As you enter the place, a magnificent setting welcome you. The menu offers the best Lebanese food in Miami. The chefs take great care in selecting the best quality ingredients and you can taste the difference in comparison to some other restaurants. The menu at Amal features an impressive selection of authentic Lebanese dishes, each prepared with finesse and attention to detail. From savory mezza platters to succulent grilled meats and delectable desserts, every dish reflects the flavors and ingredients that define Lebanese cuisine. During our visit, we had the pleasure of savoring their signature hummus, which was impeccably creamy and served with freshly baked pita bread. The kabab were tender, flavorful, and accompanied by fragrant rice or delicious fries. The service at Amal was impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who were eager to provide recommendations and ensure a seamless dining experience. The restaurant's commitment to excellence was evident in every aspect, from the quality of the food to the impeccable presentation and attentive service. Sam & Fabio paid great attention to detail, ensuring that our dining experience was exceptional. Their knowledge of the menu and recommendations made our meal even more enjoyable. The delicious food combined with Sam and Fabio's attentive service made for a memorable dining experience. Sam & Fabio are the best hosts that you can ask for! We are always very impressed by their special customer service by them. Sam & Fabio go above and beyond what customers need and helps ensure we are happy. We were really impressed by Fabio, who speaks English, Spanish, French and Italian perfectly. He was also a truly gentleman! Sam, Fabio & May were truly exceptional. Thanks & see you soon!
AMAL MIAMI TICKS ALL THE BOXES-DELICIOUS FOOD/GREAT SERVICE/BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE
Beautiful interior, great ambiance. Amazing chef and kitchen staff; incredible front of the house service. Janelle, the hostess, Sheila, our amazing server and her charming assistant, Fabio made for a wonderful experience. The food is absolutely delicious- we had mushroom hummus, cheese sticks (cannot recall the name, but delicious), octopus, fatoosh salad, date cake and so much more! Everything was perfect! Loved it all, we will be back!
Food and point
Beautiful place, the highlight is the excellent Lebanese cuisine, delicious, fresh dishes, very well prepared, the criticism is the pretentious service, almost arrogant staff, I went twice, at lunch, more empty, it was quiet, but at night, I had barely finished eating when the bill arrived. I would go back, but I would only go in a quieter place.
Bad food, disappointed!
Went to Amal to try this beautiful place. The amenities and the service are really outstanding. When it comes to the food I found it very bad. All starters just tasted like lemon , Prices very high are not supported by the quality of the food they make. Will not go back! Do not recommend for people that know and enjoy Lebanese food!
A Vibrant Vegetarian Haven at Amal
From the very first bite at Amal, it’s clear that this Lebanese restaurant is a cut above. The bustling atmosphere, combined with the upbeat music, sets the stage for a dining experience that’s as lively as it is delicious. The variety of vegetarian options is impressive, each dish a vibrant showcase of the rich, healthy, and hearty staples of Lebanese cuisine. The presentation of the food is a feast for the eyes, with bright, beautiful colors inviting you to dive in, and the flavors do not disappoint. Each dish is priced reasonably, offering incredible value for such high-quality, flavorful meals. Amal stands out as a joyous celebration of Lebanese culinary delights, perfect for anyone looking for both nourishment and zest in their dining experience.
Thank you!
First time experiencing dinner and I was blown away. The food, the ambiance and the service was all terrific. The amount of appetizers and sharing options are a lot. I can’t believe how good there zucchini eggplant chips were by far the best I had in Miami. Platter is a great portion. Tanner went above and beyond for my friend who just moved here for NYC birthday. We couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to dine again!
