Decent Italian
Enjoyed dinner here our first night. Very Pricey and everything is ale-cart. Had the gnocchi it was good, but not what I expected. Very small pieces of gnocchi covered with mozzarella cheese and baked. My husband had seafood spaghetti and the sauce was exactly the same. His was very el dente which he did not like. Italian salad was good. His oysters were good. I am Italian and critical of the food. It was decent but very expensive. Watch Michael Symone on the food network all the time and wanted to try. His name is not listed on the menu or signage though which I thought was strange? Too full for dessert. Service was excellent and nice atmosphere. Right in casino.

Absolutely divine! We ordered the Sunday Supper. Every dish was delicious! Chef Simon served it himself. (But we didn’t know it was him until we got home) I didn’t recognize him with without his hat. He was so humble. The service was impeccable. After every course our table was cleaned and reset. The serving size was generous. What we couldn’t eat was kindly put into containers to take home with us. I can’t wait to visit again to give Chef Simon the recognition he deserves.
Be the first to ReplyPass on Angeline’s
Angeline is in the Borgata Hotel. The food is over priced and nothing spectacular. The food was barely warm, oyster casino was burnt, bread was nice, pasta was overcooked, service was fair. We would never go back.
Be the first to ReplyYummy Bronzini, had better...
☆☆☆ Angelines were okay, I read reviews before booking reservations that were overrated, to say the least. The service really impacts the mood in dining out. There is a lack of attention and a verbal tone if you're a table of two compared to a table of four. After being ignored, due to patrons that arrived after us, being anxiously serviced, by our waiter. It appeared that he sent his coworker to wait on the smaller tables. The food was sub-par see pic's. Sorry, I will not recommend Angelines to my friends and family.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Evening with Fantastic Service!
Excellent experience with fantastic service and a delicious meal. Hubby and I went for restaurant week and had a great time. Our waiter Zandro was not only attentive but charming and funny. We had so much fun with him, Zandro actually made our night. The drinks were also fantastic! I had a chocolate martini and hubby had a Cosmopolitan. Best chocolate martini in town. I had chicken Parmesan which was fantastic and hubby had clams and linguine. Also an order of stuffed clams which were delicious. Can’t wait to return!! Thank you Angeline’s for having only the best people in the industry.!

Very dry meatballs. Had to chew harder on the spaghetti than a steak. Meatballs made us sick. Won’t return.

From the baked clams and excellent wine, to the Lasagna and Branzino, everything is amazing. Including the service. Mom's Meatballs are incredible, and so are the freshly homemade pastas. The deserts are pretty darn good as well.
Be the first to ReplyAnniversary Dinner; Extremely Disappointed and a Big Let Down!!!
My husband and I were hoping for a romantic dinner at Angeline to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. Was looking forward to it, even looked over the menu in advance! Upon arriving we were seated next to the wait staff station. I asked to move to the corner table next to us which was empty. Our waiter accommodated the request. We weren’t seated two minutes before we were brought the wine and dinner menus. For our appetizers we ordered the “Tasting Board” and “Burrata & Sweet Hot Peppers'. For our entrees, I ordered the “Veal Marsala” along with a side of sauteed spinach. My Husband ordered the “Veal Chop Milanese”. I also ordered a 9 oz craft of wine. I have to say the Tasting Board was the only decent dish. The Burrata & Sweet Hot Peppers was chopped up in a bowl and the burrata was small and melted. The “Veal Marsala”, was a BIG MISTAKE!! It was drowning in brown gravy and my side of sauteed spinach was burnt to a crisp. Who serves crunchy spinach?? Sent it back to only get steamed spinach with shaved garlic on top. The “Veal Chop Milanese” was overcooked. And ALL entrees were bland. I wish I read the reviews before booking; Way overpriced and the entrees were very mediocre at best. We felt that our meal was rushed. So rushed that our entire meal took less than one hour!! This was my first and last time at Angeline’s. Will never go back. Want to know the best authentic Italian restaurants in AC… try Carmines (Tropicana) or Il Mulino (Hard Rock). However, if you want to stay at the Borgata, try Old Homestead Steak House. You won’t be disappointed!

Food was delicious, service was excellent, but prices are high. Also, very noisy. I was vacationing at the Jersey Shore. Not sure I would go to Angeline’s again.
Be the first to ReplyCleveland Italian food can't cut it in Jersey
Totally disappointing. We went there with friends, I was treating for dinner. Service was slow and the food quality was below average. If you're a celebrity chef you better put out a better product that this. We tried the octopus and it was thick and chewy and came with a sauce which tasted sorta like puttanesca sauce without the heat and way too many capers. The swordfish was thin and came in the same caper and tomato sauce as the octopus. The sauce was so salty we didn't even mop it up with the bread, just left it. I tried the bucatini short rib ragu. The pasta was over cooker and I couldn't find any short ribs in it only shreds of beef that might have been short ribs but there was no way to really tell. One meal took an extra 10 minutes to come out so we waited while our food got cold. The guys at the table next to us said their meals were terrible and that the sauce tasted Ragu from the jar. We complained to the manager about the wait and the food quality and she offer dessert but another table said the desserts weren't very good so we paid the bill and left. Everyone left disappointed with their meal.

I do not know if I will visit this restaurant again on my next visit to the Borgata. I felt very uncomfortable sitting 5 feet from a complete stranger to dine. The restaurant was somewhat loud for my comfort level. I had difficulty conversing with my spouse in the setting. Food was less than I expected. Service was excellent.

We were celebrating a friend's birthday. My husband and I enjoy the food but feel that they rush the meal. So this time, we only wanted to order the apps first. If you give the waiter your whole order you'll have all your food served within 15 minutes. They don't even wait until you finish your appetizer. The waiter rudely told us that he wouldn't take our order unless it was complete. When I told him I didn't want our meal to be rushed, he stormed off and sent another waiter. I wrote to the Borgata to complain but still, months later, have not heard back from them. For the price you pay to eat there, you should be able to enjoy your meal without feeling rushed.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Dinner Spot
Great Dinner, perfect atmosphere. If you are 2 people looking for a cozy spot request a booth upon booking. Had the tuna appetizer, different spin.. very enjoyable Clams Casino, very tasty & fresh Bucatini with Short Rib Ragu was amazing!!!! Little spicy. Will definitely be back again when visiting Borgata Casino
Be the first to ReplyGood food and great service
Sat at the bar and the service was attentive and helpful. Food was brought out at the perfect pace. Apps were tomatoes with burrata. Was impressed to have tasty Jersey tomatoes in January. The burrata was creamy and fresh! Balsamic dressing was blended just right! Our main course was Butternut squash tortellini. It was velvety soft and served hot. It was cooked just right. My spaghetti was hot and tasty! The server provided as much freshly grated cheese as I wanted! Had to tell him to stop! Angeline’s!! Always the smart choice!
Be the first to ReplyBelow average food and service
Won’t be coming back here-the food was lukewarm and the service was even worse. We had the arancini and baked clams as appetizers, and the ricotta gnocchi and tortelloni for dinner. Arancini didn’t have much flavor, and the baked clams were ok and on the larger end. The tortelloni was decent, but lukewarm. The gnocchi was also lukewarm and overcooked. Not only did the waiter correct my husband multiple times for how he said “gnocchi”, but my husband also asked for parm cheese to put on top and got straight out told “no” by the waiter bc it “didn’t match the dish”. When a customer asks for something, you give it to them even if you don’t agree without making them feel stupid. Won’t be returning.
Be the first to ReplyBirthday dinner.
We ate dinner here for my birthday. It was a nice time but the food is definitely average at best. My chicken parm was overcooked and not much flavor and zero starches on the plate. The other meals were average in flavor and portion size for price.
Be the first to ReplyNot Good!
Food is fair at best, service was terrible. Manager could care less. Domino's is a better choice. They at least will deliver what you expect within 45 min.
Be the first to ReplyThe food and service was equal. LOUSY!
Was here last night. Waiter forgot to put our food order in. When it came out 45 min later the food was no better than a fair pizzeria. Eggplant Parm was just a few layers of grilled eggplant with some cheese on top. There was no ricotta and the eggplant should have been lightly fried. Taste was fair at best. Lasagna was similar in preparation. No ricotta and meat tasted like a ground up hamburger. Chicken Parm was ok. Called the manager over. He didn’t really seem to care, and was barely apologetic. At the end of the meal they switched our waiter. By then the damage was done. High priced meal for food, and service that was LOUSY! Stay Away!
Be the first to ReplySurprisingly Bad
We were really surprised how bad the food was at Angeline Italian restaurant. We have eaten here before and enjoyed our meal. They did recently change the menu and our favorites from before were not there. For example, the spaghetti was either well overcooked or just bad. How can you mess up spaghetti? The seafood had a very fishy smell and taste. Mom's meatballs were dry and tasteless.
Be the first to ReplyCold food
Food was cold and half cooked. Nothing to write home about.. expected more. For a restaurant by Michael Simon, was very disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyAvoid Angeline in Atlantic City
Please excuse my laziness. I am copy/pasting the exact response I sent to Angeline when they asked for my feedback. I think you'll get the picture (and it's not a pretty one). With all of the options available in AC there is no reason to go to Angeline. It wasn't a complete horror show, but there are so many better options in AC. Ye have been warned. "Although our waiter certainly could have been better (e.g. never brought us bread although everyone else received some; failed to take any discernible action when we informed him both of our appetizers were below subpar), the main issue we experienced was related to the food. While our dessert (panna cotta) and the chicken parmesan were both very good, the same can't be said for the other entree (cacio y pepe tortelloni) and two appetizers (baked clams; calamari fra diavolo). First, not only was the tortelloni average at best, but charging $32 for what amounts to an appetizer sized portion is simply unconscionable. I don't recall tasting foie gras or white truffles in the tortelloni, and even homemade pasta shouldn't warrant such a lofty price tag. So I simply can't understand why a larger portion wouldn't be provided... or a lower price, I guess. Second, usually when something says "fra diavolo" one should expect at least a modicum of spiciness. My wife and I were not aware that fra diavolo apparently has an alternate translation meaning "incredibly bland", since not only was there zero spice but there was also zero flavor. Without hyperbole, it tasted like a can of unsalted tomato sauce was poured over some calamari. Third, I was not previously aware baked clams could be made so poorly. Aside from the heavy bread crumb to clam ratio, since the majority of the appeal of baked clams is the garlicky, buttery, greasy deliciousness, it was shocking to find these clams were lacking in every respect. It almost tasted like somebody chopped up some clams with Stove Top stuffing and called it a day. Considering the reputation Angeline has enjoyed, I cannot believe the average diner has eaten the same two appetizers as we did and thought they were anything beyond below average (and that is being generous). I have been to many hole-in-the-wall pizzeria-slash-Italian restaurants that have made a far superior fra diavolo and baked clam. No offense, but everyone associated with Angeline should truly and genuinely be embarrassed. And, for the record, this is not intended to be a hit job. We found the restaurant itself to be very nice, and the chicken parmesan was actually very good! But I think it goes without saying a restaurant of this caliber should not have such obvious fails in what can be considered very basic Italian dishes. And, not for nothing, while you could make an argument we should have voiced our displeasure more vocally at the time, at some point people feel like they just want to cut their losses and move on. After the bland (pun intended) response from our waiter to our complaints, we felt the best option we had was to let our future decisions do the talking. Consequently, when we (and our friends) return to the Borgata we will be sure to avoid Angeline. Thank you."
