Perfection
Everything was excellent. Not cheap, but well prepared and presented food. Staff is superb. I had fish and my wife had duck. Desserts were a great finish to the meal.
Be the first to ReplyPhenomenal Dinner in New Orleans
Absolutely phenomenal dinner! The staff were very attentive and provided excellent suggestions on the dishes and wine pairing. Everything we ate was beyond good. They gave us an amuse bouche in an hollowed out egg shell. Great spoon bread. We had a crawfish and asparagus appetizer and red snapper with shrimp main course and a creole cheesecake for dessert. Everything was perfection. One of the best meals we have ever had.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous Food; Great Service
We’ve been several times and it’s always enjoyable. Seafood is very well prepared and beautifully plated. Waiters knowledgeable about ingredients and preparation.

We previously enjoyed August during Tales of the Cocktail several years ago and decided to give it a try again. Had intended to do the Chef's Tasting Menu but were not really very hungry so we ordered alacarte. Husband got the pork app and duck 3 ways. Duck breast was a littlw underdone for our taste but overall was very good. The cherry sauce was phenomenal! I had the escargot which was very tasty followed by the red snapper with shrimp crab and mushrooms with a bearrnaise sauce. We really just weren't that hungry but was all very good. The desserts all looked wonderful but we past them by. Next time I plan on starving all day and doing the Tasting Menu!!

This restaurant is excellent! We hired the top floor room for a business function and the food was outstanding. Many complements to the chef. The service was faultless also. I highly recommend!

Very pleasant discovery of this restaurant full of charm, impeccable and warm service, innovative cuisine, we had a very good time there. worth a Michelin star
Be the first to ReplyElegant Dining Experience
My husband and I visited New Orleans for serval days and visited serval culinary places. We ate at GW Fins, Muriel's Jackson Square, Antoines's just to name a few and Restaurant August of course. The Restaurant August is elegant with top notch service and great food. They have an extensive wine list (highly overpriced) in our opinion compared to the other establishments we visited. Great experience overall but was a little more impressed with GW Fins food, service and overall value.
Be the first to ReplyTasting menu for the win!
Make your reservation now! This was my favorite stop on our recent trip to NO and I can’t say enough about the food and service. We weren’t going in thinking of getting the tasting menu, but everything looked amazing and we had to try it. Beautiful presentation, coursed out at perfect intervals, the staff was helpful and pleasant and genuinely just great. Will absolutely be back next time we are in the area
Be the first to ReplyEuropean Michelin Star meal
The title is not exaggerated, it was very comparable to a Michelin Star meal in Paris or Amsterdam. We had the full tasting menu with wine pairing (which I would recommend). It is certainly a bit pricey, but it was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyDon’t dilly-dally! Make a reservation NOW!
The next time you’re in NO, make a reservation at August! You’ll thank us, I promise. 🤤 FIVE STAR REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The meal started out with a “gift from the chef.” A savory leek custard, topped with pumpkin mousse and a sprinkle of sweet & salty crunch, presented in a perfectly carved eggshell. We were given spoon bread as well, which was the lightest, airiest and creamiest corn muffin ever to cross my lips. The sommelier told us that the secret ingredient was sour cream. I guess the secret is out now! 😉 Our sommelier suggested Pinot Noir. Monty chose Belle Glos Las Alturas. Let’s just say that we started shopping for it online immediately after the first taste. It has a fuller body than a typical Pinot Noir, so smooth and juicy. Such a perfect pairing. 🤌🏼 Monty had the pecan-smoked venison tartare with celery root and mountain rose apple. The flavors and textures were out of this world! We combined a few bites of the tartare with a bit of spoon bread. Omg, I’ll say it again: Out. Of. This. World. 💥 I ordered the gnocchi "black and blue" with black truffles, jumbo lump crab and parmesan. Tender, yet slightly firm, with a delicate, pillowy texture, but the truffle took it to a whole ‘nuther level! They gnocchi’d it out of the park with this one. For dinner we shared duck three ways with Bayou Cora grits, foie gras, confit, chestnut mushrooms and cherry bounce. Y’all, I’ve had foie gras, but never before like this. An intensely flavorful silky texture that literally bursts on your tongue. It was absolutely divine. Dessert was hummingbird cake with creole cheesecake, bruleed banana and pineapple ice cream. I just don’t know what to say except the pastry chef knows exactly what she is doing!! This was definitely meal to remember with the love of my life, my favorite dining companion, and my partner in culinary escapades. I love our journey of flavorful adventures, seasoned with spice and a love that mirrors the diversity of a well-crafted menu. Here’s to more delicious chapters in our love story, baby, where every bite is a beautiful reminder of the incredible life we share! Cheers!! 🥂🥂

The best venue of all, absolutely beautiful rooms. We were seated in a back room by ourselves! Room was beautiful dark woods, comfortable chairs, looking onto another room with gorgeous chandeliers, also overlooking an upstairs wine room, with hundreds of bottles just waiting! We were given an amuse upon being seated. It was a hollowed out egg shell sitting in small egg dish, holding pumpkin mousse and what they said was pumpkin pepita topping. That may have been miscommunication, as have never heard of such a thing! One of us had red snapper with wild mushroom sauce and topped with crab and shrimp with Bearnaise sauce. One had Wagu steak thinly sliced, with Bordelaise sauce and candied fresh yams diced. I had one bite of a snapper dish and had no more, not feeling well! Rum raisin ice cream was dessert. Ambiance is lovely, this is like a private men’s club with wine cellar! We ordered rum raisin ice cream to finish. Every single piece of china to how the waiters had been trained was top notch, worthy of a star! You could tell the wait staff had been specially trained in how and what to do in different scenarios.

Outstanding service, outstanding food. The menu is not expansive but adequate. The portion size is definitely on the small side but we did not leave hungry.
Be the first to ReplyRestaurant August Family Dinner Perfection!
Just absolutely love everything about this restaurant. The decor, the ambiance is perfect. The service is impeccable with a team. Ben took great care of us. We ended up having the sick three ways, nee York strip, and the snapper dish. Everything was cooked and presented to perfection. I. Rough a 2015 Chris Tynan Cab which they decanted shortly after being seated. The chocolate pot de creme was my favorite dessert.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food, decent experience overall
I debated on this review for awhile. The food overall was excellent. Everything we had tasted delicious. So for the food itself, it was probably 5 star. The rabbit and gnocchi apps were both delicious. For the entrees, the steak was perfectly cooked and went well with everything on the plate. The duck 3 ways was good, the breast was a bit chewy but good flavor. I dropped it to a 4 star review because of service. The service wasn’t bad, it was just fine. And you are at an upper echelon restaurant so you are expecting top notch service. The thing that really bothered me was that no server ever explained the menu to us or went over favorites. At every high end dining experience I have ever been to, that’s pretty standard. After we were at the table for about 10-15 min, our server came to the table and asked if we were ready to order yet. Like I said, no one was rude or negative, I just was expecting more of a personal experience and for the wait staff to run the menu with us and give suggestions, especially since it was our first dining experience there.

From the graciousness of the staff to the friendliness of each member we spoke with, our anniversary celebration was top notch. My spouse had duck three ways which was the "best meal he's every eaten".
Be the first to ReplyWhat makes a great dining experience?
Answer: A great restaurant with kind (staff even when the restaurant was not yet open). I have dined August before. It’s well known to be one of New Orleans finest establishments. Here’s one reason why. As I was walking by the restaurant at around 11am, my thin paper bag carrying the take away from my breakfast at the Westin tore open. Needing help but also aware that the kind woman standing behind the greeting podium would not know me, still I knocked on the door, Despite the front door being locked because the restaurant had not yet opened, the hostess who was alone in the front if house, was willing to hear my pleas. She retrieved 3 study paper bags from the kitchen, passed them through the door to me. Without a second thought I was on my way. Well prepared for the long road ahead. Her kindness plus thoughtfulness reminded me of what a well run establishment looks like. The mystique of a truly great restaurant starts and stops with service. I thank you kind August. Her actions demonstrate that winning attitude which we all strive for. I’d say that “je ne sais croix” which makes the difference, that secret ingredient that makes dining at August so memorable is imbedded in every one who works there.

Restaurant August is centrally located, very friendly staff, nice environment in the bar and restaurant. Typical old French style seating. Food was great, menu limited but great choice.

This was our third visit to August. I longed for the perfectly fried oysters and they did not disappoint! From the wine to the food and service all was perfect.

We spent a long weekend in NOLA to celebrate my husband's 40th Birthday. Dinner at August was on our last night and did not disappoint. In fact, weeks later we are all still talking about this dinner. Would highly recommend the perfect pear drink - delicious! We each ordered a different appetizer and shared with the table. They were all delicious, with the gnocchi, oysters, and yellowtail as standouts. Entrees were also terrific! My husband ordered the duck and it was fantastic! I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices. Would also highly recommend the banana dessert! Can not recommend this restaurant enough. We can't wait to go back!

Excellent service, well spaced tables. Nice ambience. Tasting menu looked lovely but no substitutions. The foie gras and gnocchi were particularly delicious. Favorite place in new orleans
