New place for us, will be back
Overall very nice. Calamari, bruschetta and a calamari salad were the apps, all enjoyed. 2 had the chicken azalea which was tender and seasoned well. I had pasta borganese which I liked a lot. Drinks were a little on the weak side. Service was very good. Nice atmosphere, will definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and great team
Adam and the team at Azalea are great. The food was increรญble, highly recommend the Chicken Azalea and Ricotta and Pistachio cake. The cake was not super sweet which made it perfect. The restaurant is right next to the Gershwin theater where Wicked is showing. Adam took great care of us so ask for him!
Be the first to ReplyEXCELLENT!
Fantastic from start to finish. We were planning to have the preset pre show menu but decided to have the specials instead.... BEST lobster ravioli ever!! Asparagus soup was also delicious. My husband enjoyed the caesar salad and lasagna, Waiter, Jhonny. was very friendly and informatie .Would highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyLovely Italian food, lovely people!!
We came across this restaurant by chance as we needed somewhere near to our hotel due to the lousy weather - Azalea was just a block away. They accommodated a party of 7 without trouble and all staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food that we all had was excellent. I can highly recommend this Italian!!!
Be the first to ReplyDinner before seeing Wicked at the Gershwin
In the City for Wicked that evening. Dinner (braised short ribs, chicken parm, chicken azalea, etc.)and service were outstanding. originally were a party of 5 but they were nice enough to add a last minute sixth. highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyFood disappointing, rude staff, quick dinner
We went before a Broadway show and I was so disappointed. I figured since it had mostly good reviews, that the food would be at least good. My salmon was wildly undercooked and when I asked for them to take it back the waiter was very rude and said 'ok so you DON'T want it medium', implying I didn't know how to cook salmon. Drinks were ok and the calamari appetizer was good and they got us out in time for the show. Definitely will not be going back.
Be the first to ReplyGood choice for pre-theater dinner - 4.25 stars
Finally got to try this place one evening before the theater - glad I did. There is a $55 pre-fixe dinner menu with four appetizer options, four entree options and three dessert options - my friend chose this, saving five dollars versus the regular pricing. On the other hand, I really wanted to try the pear salad appetizer, so I went a la carte. This turned out to be smart, as the pear salad was the best item of the meal - nicely warmed (grilled?) pears with lettuce, nuts and a tasty blue cheese "fondue". We both had the salmon for the entree - and we both were tempted to send it back as it really would have benefitted from another minute or two of cooking. We decided against it, particularly since we were near a high maintenance table (where someone ordered a lemon pasta dish and then sent it back because it had lemon) and did not want to trouble the staff. Next time I return, I will definitely ask for it to be medium-well to hope it comes out medium (by the way, the salmon does have some diced olives in it and this is not noted on the menu, so ask for them to be held if, like me, you don't care for them. The affogato was a perfect way to finish my meal, getting my dessert and coffee at the same time. Daniel and the team did a nice job with service, always checking in and filling up the water glasses - they won't let you be late for the show. Will go again in the future, either to try the salmon with the modifications above or perhaps one of the tasty sounding pastas (or chicken parm) on the menu

Azalea is a better than average Italian Restaurant however, excellent for the Theatre District. With that in mindโฆthey have excellent service, great appetizers and heavy poured drinks.
Be the first to ReplyComfortable room near Broadway with reasonable food
The location is convenient to theaters. The space is roomy and comfortable. The cocktails are interesting. The food is adequate (nothing exceptional but nothing bad). The service is attentive.
Be the first to ReplyLovely lunch
Lovely restaurant right next to the Gershwin theatre. GF pasta options. We enjoyed our meal and at lunch time it was very quiet and a nice place to have great conversation.
Be the first to ReplyLovely Italian restaurant in a convenient location
I had secured reservations online for 7:00 pm on a Sunday without issue. We were greeted upon arrival and our table was ready. We were immediately seated and given menus. The waiter was quite attentive, and our food arrived relatively quickly. We did not order appetizers or a salad, as we generally find that is just too much food to eat. But, in this case, we could have easily enjoyed something in addition to the entree. I ordered the ravioli, which was delicious, but came with just 6 1-inch square ravioli. My husband ordered the Bolognese, and his meal was a bit more substantial. I'm not complaining about the size portions, just mentioning it so that people are aware that an appetizer and/or salad would easily compliment a meal here. We did not order desserts or coffee. The restaurant wasn't very busy for a Sunday night, so it's hard to judge the service. I did note that there were several waiters on staff, so I would presume that patrons would have a positive experience had it been busier. Our waiter was quite attentive but not obtrusive and we had a very pleasant dinner experience here.
Be the first to ReplyThe Food is Delicious
We ate here on the first night of our trip to Manhattan. The food was very delicious. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable and the ambience was nice as well.

Be the first to ReplyVery good pre-theater restaurant!
Chose this restaurant based on its location next to the broadway show Wicked which is just steps away from Azalea. We got there early (4:30pm Sunday) and walked into an empty restaurant. About time we left, every table was taken. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. The menu looked a little underwhelming at first but everything we ordered was delicious! For an appetizer we asked our waiter if the chef could split the mushroom risotto for us which was a main entree. They accommodated us with no issue. It was insanely good and I still think about that dish! For entrees, my friend ordered the strip loin steak and I ordered the branzino. Both were outstanding! We ended our meal with the pistachio cake which was surprisingly light, not too sweet and very good. The best part was we did not feel rushed. This restaurant allowed us to take our time and linger. Two hours later we were off to the show. Highly recommended Azalea and would definitely dine there again!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Pre-Theatre Dinner 10/10
I reserved a pre-theatre dinner and was quickly seated. Our waiter attended to our drinks order immediately and described the evening's specials. We ordered the bruschetta which was fresh and perfectly prepared. My wife ordered the spaghetti Bolognese, and I had the evening's special of Italian sausage over penne pasta with a vodka cream sauce. The dishes were memorable and at a great price. I cannot recommend enough how wonderful the service and food were at an excellent location for the theatre.
Be the first to ReplyPleasant lunch
The service was friendly and professional. Since the restaurant was not particularly busy at the time we visited, we were able to have a very leisurely meal. The appetizers and entrees were good and the prices reasonable. Good choice in the theater district.

Great service, amazing food and a wicked wickedtini before the show. Way to set the mood. Made for a great Sunday afternoon in NYC.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic!! 10/10 recommend.
Azalea is easily my favorite restaurant I attended on my visit to NYC. I visited places that were more expensive than Azalea but far worse, though youโd think itโd be the opposite experience. The staff was efficient and our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time even though the place was packed. A great place to stop before or after a show! And served some of the best gelato Iโve ever had!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Choice!
We had dinner here before a show, we chose the restaurant because the theatre was right next door making the location perfect. I'm so glad we did! Our waiter, the manager I believe, was excellent! Personable, knowledgeable, friendly and funny. The service was efficient but not rushed. And the food! The food was excellent! We're only sorry we didn't have room for dessert!
