Bacari Sherman Oaks Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
Just come and check it out.
Beautiful restaurant throughout. Be careful about sitting in the bar. It could be a bit too noisy. Constant shakers...other than that it's absolutely lovely,. Everyone is friendly, and the food is absolutely wonderful. Definitely a place to try. I do believe they have live music (jazz?) in certain areas. I say that because the place is huge. Seems like 2 big homes combined into 1 restaurant. Maybe 250 tables total? It's cool inside and out. Our server was fantastic. His name was Sean. (Fake tattoos-actor) Great guy We had the 2 Bacari margaritas, bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms, cauliflower, petite fillet w/zucchini, chicken sliders. Cappuccino. All very well done. Small plates, they're meant to be shared. Unless they just taste too good. Then buy 2 :) I'll be back !!
The ambiance is fantastic, especially if you sit outside.
When we went they had a live band playing in the bar area. The food is really good. I would say, I like the menu at the Glendale location more. But hands down, this location is a great spot for a date night or meet up with friends. Service was good. They were a bit busy, but the food came out in a reasonable amount of time.

So you like delicious food and spending money? If so this is the place for you. I spent all the money, ate all the things and I'm totally cool with it. The ambiance on the patio is really great and sets the mood for an evening of epicurean delights. The staff was friendly but they rotate so you don't really have one wait staff member. It may be more efficient but I prefer the old fashion way.

Two words: FRENCH TOAST! It's sooooo good, light & fluffy & just the right amount of sweet--(Not cloying). Went for Saturday brunch-- sat outside on patio which was lovely. Make a reservation for sure
Amazing restaurant.
Delicious food, cozy environment and very very friendly staff. We loved our experience here. Already told many friends about this place and planning to come back. I also received an email from the restaurant manager which was a nice gesture. Highly recommend!

My niece and I had dinner reservations at Bacari and they were running a little late so offered us complimentary champagne which I thought was a nice touch. Everything we ordered was delicious, the lamb hummus being a standout. There was so much more to try. From hostess, to waitstaff to food, our experience was stellar. Going above and beyond, I received an email from the owner thanking us for coming and making sure our experience was positive. I would go back to Bacari any day of the week!

I love a tapas style restaurant and Bacari's menu more than satisfied my needs. The restaurant offers a variety of beautiful dining areas and tables are spaced so I didn't have to listen to anyone else's' conversation. Additionally, our server made great food recommendations. I definitely will go back.
The ambiance is amazing with candle light cozy vibes.
Even had a jazz three piece band playing. All while having the best bread pudding I've ever had!
After just three visits, BACARI in Sherman Oaks is my new
After just three visits, BACARI in Sherman Oaks is my new favorite restaurant! From the warm greeting by the hostess to the subsequent attentive service by the different servers, the dining experience is most enjoyable. Let's start with the wonderful ambiance in the different rooms. Each room is warm and inviting but my preference is the Parlor Room which is a bit less noisy than the main room. The attraction here are the cold and hot small bites and there are many from which to choose. But before that, I must compliment Bacari's bartenders and their specialty cocktails. You can't go wrong with either of these: "bacarita" tequila, watermelon, jalapeno, basil, lime --- "the confidant" tequila, mezcal, chicheme orgeat, white truffle, lemon, lime. And they have two full-service bars each staffed with several bartenders so that cocktails and wine are dispatched fairly quickly. No pictures in this review but some of the dishes we tried and which were all wonderful: burrata caprese burrata di gioia, fresh basil, heirloom cherry tomato, basil walnut pesto, grey salt, baguette --- scallops summer corn, cherry tomato, beurre fondue, scallion --- chef's salmon pan seared, walnut crust, garlic & herb bulgar, parsley --- fried chicken sliders cornbread crusted, hawaiian roll, pickled cucumber, cabbage, olive aioli --- ricotta & beet gnocchi hand-made, chèvre fondue, chimichurri --- stuffed mushroom five cheese blend, toasted pecan, basil walnut pesto, parmesan, parsley. There are so many more dishes that we plan to eventually work our way through many of them. The restaurant is fairly large with indoor and outdoor seating, and it runs with amazing precision. Food is brought by runners so everything comes to table without a wait while giving the servers the opportunity to explain the various dishes and take orders. I again mention the friendliness and professionalism of the servers who are obviously well-trained. And a nice touch here... the servers always ask if you have any food allergies. On my first visit I dined alone and the next two times brought different guests who were totally dazzled. The portions are listed as "small plates" but they are decent size and enough to share. And while neither of us had room for dessert, on my first visit I did sample Bacari's take on bread pudding with a dollop of ice cream. The restaurant does get crowded so make sure you reserve ahead. They are on Open Table.
An absolute 10!!
This restaurant has several locations in Los Angeles and it never disappoints! I've enjoyed two of them (SilverLake and Sherman Oaks) and have taken several of our friends there for birthdays. Last year we went to the Silver Lake location for my friend's birthday. This evening the same close friend was celebrating a birthday and I took him to this location to celebrate! The welcoming staff could not have been nicer We were greeted warmly and a lovely window table that I had requested was made available. From the moment we arrived until we left the atmosphere remained friendly, professional and fun. The staff are all well trained and go out of their way to make you feel valued and welcomed. The food was incredible. This evening we began with a pear and brie pizza and the warm lamb hummus with a homemade puffed pita. The lamb was served with a nice crudite and served on the most delicious hummus. If you are interested in a very unique and elevated pizza, try the brie and pear..... there is truly nothing like it! If we weren't so eager to try another dish we would have ordered another one:). Next came a homemade pasta with a passilla cream sauce with fresh cilantro. It felt like we were being served a special family recipe. The pasta melted in my mouth and the cilantro was a surprising twist that was incredible. For my friend's birthday dessert we enjoyed the warm date cake with bacon and vanilla ice cream! This one will always be remembered as it was my friends favorite and I don't think he will celebrate his birthday next year without this cake!!! I'm still smiling when I think of the delicious warm cake topped with vanilla ice cream and the most delicious warm sauce. If I could go back tomorrow just for this cake I would! If you want to enjoy a special meal with a hip, fun, genuinely caring staff, by all means put Bar Bacari at the top of your list. Thank you Bar Bacari, we will be back again soon!
Good Food, but Much Too Loud
Bacari is a tapa-style restaurant, where the food comes out as it is prepared and is meant to be shared. They offer a wide variety of dishes. Eight dishes were shared between two couples: 2 pizzas, chipotle chicken wings, fried chicken sliders, and Tuscan kale salad. All were well prepared. The service was attentive and fast. Our biggest complaint was the noise level. It was so loud that we could barely have a conversation, which made for an unpleasant evening. We'll go back when the weather warms up and we can sit outside.
Beautiful spot, good food
The former Rive Gauche has made some nice improvements in terms of setting - many tables are outside in the courtyard, with lanterns and large trees providing a comfy ambience. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait almost 20 minutes for a table, as the threat of rain threw the staff into chaos as some diners tried to move from outside tables to inside. We shared many dishes, and most were very good. The big winner was the glazed pork belly - cooked so perfectly that it melted in our mouths, with sharp flavors dancing on our tongues. The chipotle cauliflower was also very tasty, as were the brussels sprouts in a sweet and savory sauce. The mac and cheese, while nothing special, was a good dish. Another favorite was the chipotle chicken wings - smoky and a little spicy, very good. Finally we tried the petite filet, which was fine, probably wouldn't get again.
Great tapas restaurant
We visited Bacari for dinner with friends. The small plates were superb and we sampled a wide variety of them. The service was also great. We will return next time we are in Los Angeles.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
