Great place for summer outdoor dining with a group of friends
Fabulous menu. Great service. Really nothing to complain about. Widely varied menu of items that are great for sharing and reasonably priced. And everything was creative and delicious. Much more than I would expect from a chain. I would go here again in a heartbeat.
Be the first to ReplyFun night out in Boston
My husband & I were in Boston and caught up with friends. The restaurant is noisey but the food is Amazing! Our waiter suggested a few tapas suggestions and we picked some of own. Everything was delicious and the tapas portions were perfect for sharing.

This is a happening place so reservations are recommended. Very nice tapa place with a large selection of dishes. Many of the classics are here such as gambas al ajio, patatas bravas, albondigas and the like. Also some non traditional choices like empanadas. All of our tapas were delicious. The paella was also very good. Lots of wine by the glass options too. Recommended.
Be the first to ReplyBe warned
I have never taken the time to write a review before but the last couple of experiences at this place has compelled me to warn others. This has been my go to restaurant for years when visiting Boston. Sadly the restaurant has recently completely gone down hill in the past year. Spend your money better elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplySuch a lively restaurant
First time here and wow were we impressed. What a busy spot. Table not ready so went to bar for first drinks and caught the end of a very good HH. Excellent bartender for being so busy. Loma and crisps and the Richmond gimlet cocktail superb. Tygra another delicious cocktail. What a vibe this place has and super friendly hosts. We need one in Portland. We next enjoyed a lighter dinner as we were going to the Beehive Jazz Club after. Really delicious tapas and everything reasonably priced. Daniela was excellent too. Must place to eat, well done all

My favorite place for a small late night eat. The prices are very reasonable and I've never had a dish I didn't love! Highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyNot for me
We had reservation, buy table was delayed by 20 min. Place was packed, so we were not able to find any place by the bar, and just stood there. The music was extremely loud, like in the night club, you needed to scream to your partner and to the waiter. Service was really slow, and food delivery lacked the thought: we got all vegetable tapas first, and then protein much later! The food and cocktails were really good though. All together, will not go there again
Be the first to ReplyBarcelona. Sort of.
I had to write this review. I have just come living 2 months in Barcelona. Literally a week ago. The city, not the restaurant. And I have thoughts. Because Barcelona is my new adoptive city, with a sense of place, friends, and a passion. So a restaurant with that name better bring its A game. So the positive. Nice selection of Spanish wines. Service was pleasant and efficient. But... I ordered three staples of Spanish tapas to gauge things: patatas bravas, croquetas, and gambas al ajillo. The croquetas were delightful. Round, which I’ve never seen in Spain, but tender, flavorful. Lovely. The bravas sauces were very nice. Lots of garlic. But the potatoes were wayyyy overcooked. From the golden goal to dark brown. And the pieces were all different sizes. That’s just lazy. 6/10. The gambas. Oh my. The garlic was wayyyy overcooked. Well on its way to burnt and bitter. The shrimp themselves were rubbery and nasty. 4/10. I get it. Fresh seafood for a dish like this is unheard of. Even in Spain. So frozen; but not old and frozen. They were just not good. And with the shrimp, the keystone of the dish, they need to be supple. Now I get it. The clientele isn’t me. Some dude that lives part of the year in Barcelona. It’s other people. But can we all get behind the idea that really good food is something we can all agree the US needs more of? In any case, the bartender told on me and the manger talked to me about my bravas y gambas. So they care. And that’s why I will surely return.
Be the first to ReplyReservation for nothing, ruined birthday
Made reservations a month in advance. Showed up and was told to wait 45 minutes for our table. Ruined my birthday. No apologies, no explanation, just rude and unacceptable behavior.
Be the first to ReplyPrejudiced behavior at Barcelona’
I just had the worst experience here. It was busy so I went to the bar to wait, and a couple cut in front of me. I informed them that I was there first, and they needed to wait. I ended up calling the manager who sided with them and didn't make them move. I will never patron this place again when they allow two patrons to move ahead me. As a black man, I feel it was also because of my race. Maybe they didn't want me there at all. The two people they let cut were white.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent pre-theatre option
We had tickets for the theatre next door, but not having been to Boston for years we did not know where to eat so we asked at the theatre box office for recommendations, and they pointed us to Barcelona. It turned out to be an excellent choice, as our appetites were still rather jet-lagged, and having a selection of tapas was perfect. All those we chose were very tasty.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, but we were hustled out
We had a nice brunch at Bercelona Wine Bar, but with one big service issue. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us a quick tour of the menu. We are familiar with Spanish tapas and already knew what we wanted. We gave her our order, and to our surprise, she fired every single item we ordered and they all arrived at once. There was barely room on the table. This is not how tapas should be served. Some of your dishes will get cold, and you feel rushed. I mentioned this to her and she apologized, and we tried not to let it ruin our brunch. I could only think she wanted us in and out fast to turn the table. The food was good, and we enjoyed everything we ordered, especially the croquettas and patas bravas. If you come, I would recommend giving only 1-2 dishes to your server at a time so you are not rushed and hustled out as we were. I noticed that none of the tables around us were done as we left, yet they were all eating before we arrived. The manager came by to ask how everything was, and I explained what happened, and she apologized, but nothing else was done.
Be the first to ReplyWorst experience for my friends birthday
We came in a group of 11 people and our reservation was at 9pm. They let us waiting for 30 minutes and each time we asked what happened to our table, they were telling us that “it was being cleaned”, “the other customers are paying now”. Then we saw that they were giving other people tables and we told the waiters. This is not the experience we expected for my friends birthday.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, wine and service
Have been here multiple times, with friends as well as family. The staff has always been very friendly, and the manager Francisco is very accommodating. The food has never disappointed either.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed
Avoid the hot food kitchen and stick with cheese and ham. Waited 90 minutes for paella that was boring. Undercooked grilled veggies. Only the simple stuff is actually good. Wine is terrific but this kitchen can't do attention to detail when it's busy.
Be the first to ReplyBest meal in Boston, service is incredible!!!
The food is absolutely amazing!!! My wife and I look forward to brunch here after weekends in Boston. The service is over the top incredible. Marcella was our server on our last visit, huge THANK YOU!!! You made our day even better.

Can’t go wrong with whatever you order here. Great tapas, wine, and atmosphere. It’s a great place for large groups and they’re really accommodating.
Be the first to ReplyJust back from Barcelona, Spain and here I am!
Tapas were flying from the kitchen to our tummies. They run a tight ship here at @barcelonawinebar in the South End. I only snapped a few photos. Other than Dali in Somerville and Cuchi-cuchi which sadly closed, this is one of our favorite Boston spots for Spanish tapas. Paella, croquetas, gambas, jamon, sangria…and all the usual suspects. All good! The place was cramped —packed and lively even on a Monday night but tables were crammed in there. Good thing the kitchen and staff was a well-oiled machine. Turbo tapas!
