Food was good.
.. pizza is amazing (with charcoal dough). Fried chicken was also very good! Service was less than desirable...seem to have a lot of staff but service was slow. Food for one of our guest was delivered 20 minutes after the first entree. Gratuity was automatically added at 18%.

We used to come to Bidwell pretty often since the food was pretty good with reasonable price. BUT this time we waited for at least 25 mins for a regular pear salad with salmon and the regular burger, with a super tiny grilled cauliflower as appetizer. They automatically add 20% gratuity and 5% service fee when they barely had a good service and cost $80???!!! This is so ridiculous and we're so disappointed, not recommended to any one who come to union market.

Ordered the house salad with chicken which the chicken was well seasoned, the pear salad was also great but we also ordered the kale salad and it wasn't balanced in flavor. Very one note to the kale salad even with a protein. I would suggest to add something light and sweet to brighten up the flavors that would compliment the anchovy Parmesan dressing. The charcoal crust white pizza was pretty decent, no complaints. The reason we're giving it 3 stars is due to the customer service. I would highly recommend Bidwell retraining their staff on hospitality. Not to say the staff wasn't pleasant because they were very pleasant but they need to emphasize on HOW to SERVE. Hopefully they can make those adjustments with the service aspect and it could be an even better experience.

We saw their white pizza was on special and it sounded so good. We got fried deviled eggs and charcoal crust white pizza two things which we both had never had. The fried deviled eggs were ok, I was interested in trying them. Came with three of them which is weird cause you cut them in half just give us four halves. It was weird eating them warm rather than regular deviled eggs being cold. Happy to have tried them. We got the white pizza and the serve told us about the charcoal pizza crust which we were intrigued by also. The texture was a little weird with the crunch of the occasional charcoal but the taste wasn't much different. Easier to digest? Why not try it! All the different cheeses was nice, I don't think it had sauce because it came with marinara to dip. Service was fine, she was nice. I would have gotten a drink also if it wasn't $20+ for one.
Be the first to ReplySlow, tasteless, and overpriced.
We waited more than 30 minutes for an order of fries in a half-empathy restaurant and even longer for our entrees, which were nothing complicated. Then, our burger came out on slices of bread - and it was so greasy that the bread was dripping. Pizza, both standard pepperoni and unique squash, had no flavor. Everything needed salt. How much was a basic meal of pizza and burgers with some beer? $200! The second star is because our server was very sweet. She did not at any point, though, seem to notice any deficiencies in timing or food quality, like not acknowledging that it's pretty weird to serve a $20 burger without a bun. I guess that means our experience was considered acceptable to the staff ... which is why I will never be going back.
Be the first to ReplyBidwell is all location and atmosphere.
On my last visit I paid $11 for a crab taco the size of my pinky finger. Between my friend and I we bought an egg white omelette, burger, mimosas, and the taco spending over one hundred dollars. The food was edible but nothing noteworthy and certainly not worth one hundred dollars. To add insult to injury the mimosas were watered down. Me and my friend decided to share the pitcher (about 3-4 champagne glasses full) and the waitresses started watching us. One then came over and voluntold me to buy my own Mimosa pitcher. I declined; it felt invasive and rude. Outside of that the waiters were friendly. There are always a lot of people here and I know now it's because of the location and ambience. Over one hundred for two people would be better spent in many other places with delicious food and waitstaff that are courteous.

Service was super slow but Andrew, the new manager, brought us free beers AND gave us a voucher to come back for another free beer. He went the extra mile and I will come back because of him!! Well done. Thank you!

I came here with some friends and I was pleased with the experience. The food was good, the service was quick and we were able to get a table immediately upon arrival. My sister ordered the mimosa. I was disappointed to see that it was poured out of a pitcher rather than freshly made, but I'm going to assume that was because mimosas are a popular weekend menu item. I ordered the house burger, or more appropriately a patty melt. The thousand island dressing came on the side, which I loved, and the French fries were perfectly crispy. The omelets that the others ordered came with a potato hash that looked quite tasty. Once we ordered our food, it was hard to get a hold of our server to refill drinks and get more water. Other than that, it was a good experience. All things considered, I would come back for another dine in experience.

Fantastic service from Kayla!! We had the most delicious brunch. Breakfast burrito and clam jam pizza. The cocktails are delicious. Can't wait to come back soon.
Be the first to ReplyKayla our server was friendly, attentive, and professional.
The vibe was upscale casual. The food was ok but each dish needed more flavor and seasoning. Salt, at a minimum.

Decided to go here on a Friday night without looking up reviews. We were not disappointed! Service was great and the food was good too. I wholeheartedly loved the peel and eat shrimp. My friend has the organic Amish turkey burger and an old fashioned with no complaints. I will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyNice ambiance.
Finally went here after most of the pandemic. Service was great and so was the atmosphere. It was very hot in there. Just hot and uncomfortable. The food was ok. I had the short ribs. A nice size portion of short ribs with potatoes and asparagus. Little to no gravy. We asked for a side of gravy but it had the consistency of water. My recommendation, have a legit short rib gravy for the ribs and potatoes. I heard the burger and fries were good. Drinks came out ok as well.
Be the first to ReplyI just came to pick up a order.
The "manager" Hannah greeted me "Hello, how are you?" And my response was "Hi, I'm here to pick up an order." She then stared right in my face like a psycho and asked me how am I 4 MORE TIMES until I answered that question. I then told her I'm not trying to be rude but I said hello back. I don't need to answer how I am in order to get serviced. The service is very rude, ill-mannered, discourteous, unpleasant, nasty, ungracious, churlish, and felt very wicked by how she was staring at me. I wouldn't recommend anyone going here at all.
Be the first to ReplyA solid 3*.
We popped in for Friday dinner. The staff is nice but the food and drinks are extremely underwhelming, especially for the price. All drinks were watered down, including the $3 lemonade. At the price point I had higher expectations.

Pros: Good food, not badly priced, great location with plenty of parking (if you live in NE).Cons: The acoustics. When it's crowded I can't hear people to have a conversation. The service is a bit uneven.

I've been coming to Bidwell since they have opened and I've never had the experience I had today. Mitch was my bartender and was extremely rude.. short with me if you will but catered to who he felt he should. I ordered a mimosa. I waited ten minutes for it, even though the pitcher was in his hand. I sat there quietly and patiently while he offered other guests mimosas to go.. I'm literally sitting right beside the guest he offers it to and he still walks off with the pitcher to get them to go cups, then to run their check. finally when he realizes Im still here waiting I said something to him and he rudely responds... "I can get u one to go too dont get an attitude"at this point he made me feel discriminated against. Speaking as a bartender, he needs more training when it comes to customer service. He did not apologize or show any consideration after I told him. He just returned , slammed down the check presenter and never returned.

Last day in DC and my friend brought me to Union Market since she lived near by. I wanted pizza and she spoke highly of Bidwell. Great for brunch, dates, group and family outings , Bidwell is a dope vibe everyone can enjoy. Union Market has pretty good parking so that's a plus as well. It didn't take long to be seated nor did it take long to order so I ordered the Moonpie ($18) which is a pizza with Chicago style Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, & mozzarella. The pizza is brought out and placed on these unique wooden trays and you're provided a small plate as well but honestly you don't need the plate lol. It also comes with a pie/pizza server that allows you to cut and pick up a slice if needed. The Moonpie was deeelicious. I couldn't stop eating after one bite. Now the portion size is about a medium but the slices are cut up pretty small so you can either save some or if you're like me, eat it all. Everything about this pizza was good. I enjoyed the pepperoni and sausage combination and the mushrooms even it out with a little unique taste. After adding a little grated cheese and crushed red peppers it gives the Moonpie and slight spicy and more cheesier taste. The Bidwell satisfied my pizza urge all the way and if you're ever in Union Market, please check out Bidwell. You won't regret it.

Went in because the Happy Hour selection and prices looked good. When we got the bill though the server said the Happy Hour prices were only for the bar. No where on the menu or the signage indicated that to be the case. Neither did the server tell us this when we ordered off the Happy Hour menu. Not going back.

So I saw the Michelin stickers on the door so thought it was a great choice to pick up food. Plus they had happy hour, waste of money. The drinks were pretty decent but we had to remind the bartender twice what we ordered, and then she still gave us the wrong drink. We got the tacos which on the menu shows 2, but in reality you're just getting one taco cut into two. For $8 that is kind of ridiculous. It came served on a paper plate and unremarkable presentation. In union market where there's so many options, pick somewhere else
Be the first to ReplyThe food and the cocktails were decent.
But they were critically understaffed the night I went for dinner. They just kept filling seats and packing the restaurant despite having 2 servers and the manager handling the entire restaurant. The food and cocktails weren't worth that hassle.

This restaurant is in the Union Market warehouse which is a hustling bustling of activity, so we were really happy to snag a table when there was no where to sit anywhere else! Sadly though, it kind of all went downhill from there. The menu is very limited, but it's really the service that was the issue. We sat for a good 25 min before we had to ask if someone could possibly come take our order- you know, when they were done hanging out at the bar chatting with the bartender. I could see the servers arguing over who was going to come over- which was super awkward- it's not like we were asking something outrageous or ridiculous after sitting there with empty waters and nothing else for nearly a half hour. The food took forever and was only decent. Three of us were served and the forth person had to wait another 10 min for his eggs Benedict that was severely undercooked. Then we had to wait another long stretch to get our check. I don't really understand because they looked to be staffed just fine and it wasn't super busy. I was a server for many years and I just couldn't figure out what the issue was outside of them wanting to hang out at the bar over serving tables. Basically, we won't be back- there are way too many other fabulous places to eat at UM to waste your time with terrible service and lousy food. The location is good and the host was very nice and he deserved a star on his own.
Be the first to ReplyFood is good as always.
However, service was an issue. Got there about 10 minutes late and our table wasn't ready, and the hostess was at a booth next door eating cookies, so it took us 10 more minutes to get seated, despite our lateness giving them extra time to get the empty table set. We actually ended up cutting our order short because our drinks took 20-30 minutes to get to us. They were out of 3 out of their 8 cocktails listed on their menu, one of which I wasn't told they were out of until we were brought the wrong drinks (again, 20+ minutes after we ordered them). I then asked for the one I actually ordered, only to be told they didn't have it (this was also my second attempt at ordering a drink, since they didn't have my first one). We were later told that there was a large table full of "friends of the chef" in the restaurant--super unprofessional to be prioritizing one table over another, especially since the restaurant was less than half full so the slowness really wasn't justified. I ended up feeling a bit rushed since my drink and food timing was so off (was going to have one with an appetizer and one with dinner, but ended up getting my dinner before I got my first drink). Our waiter was great and very apologetic, as none of this was his fault, so I'd give the place another try since this was my first and only negative experience.

This place is located in Union Market area and was one of the few places that opened late serving food! I had their cheese pizza with mushroom, arugula, and a vegetable crust. I'm not the biggest pizza fan, but this was quite tasty. I recommend replacing the vegetable crust with a regular or thin crust. The vegetable crust was very flimsy and paralleled eating raw dough. The actual pizza tasted healthy, unlike most pizzas! I would order this again.
Be the first to ReplyI will not be going back to this place.
The food wasn't great and for a Thursday night the waitress was the only staff for 15 tables. It was also overpriced for what it was.
Be the first to ReplyFood is good; service not so much.
I sat at the bar alone, and had to ask for everything - utensils, salt and pepper, refills, ketchup. Had the server been attentive, I would have ordered more but as it was, I spent a half hour more than I wanted to there, trying to get a check. Go if you don't care about time.
