Bistrot Chez Rémy Chessy Reviews from The Last Year
Tourist trap …. Avoid by all means
We were in Disneyland Paris for few days and decided to try our chance in Bistrot chez Rémy, relying on good reviews here. It is an absolute waste of money and a shame to destroy the image of the French culinary! Their proposed menues contain low quality products ( like cheap pasta from an ordinary supermarket ), terrible piece of a burned meat qualified as ‘bien cuit’, a weird accompanying sauce called ‘chef’s sauce’ which makes the taste of the meat even worse! The service is worse than the dishes. You have to ask for fork and knife which are missing when the dishes are served, wait for a bread for hours after the soup is served and when it comes , it breaks your teeth! And for all of these , they don’t even excuse themselves but quickly put the bill on the table while you are still eating! I let you the choice to try chez Rémy!
Lovely food and fantastic with allergies
Favourite restaurant in Disneyland Paris! You need to book months in advance but it’s popular for a reason. Of every restaurant we went to, it was the absolute best with food allergies. Despite being so busy, the waitstaff were extremely knowledgeable about the dishes and were able to prepare two delicious, safe and allergen free courses with ease. The restaurant is also really fun - the decor is great, the music is themed and it adds to the overall fun of being in the area. Do make sure to book on the Disneyland Paris app as soon as possible though!
Run the other way!
Service was so, we waited 20 minutes before our server acknowledged us. There were four of us, we all had the Remy meal. The food was just ok, nothing about it made it stand out. We found our food underwhelming. Our table never received bread because our server forgot. He forgot a lot of things- the first being us. Upon checkout we were given three bills because he said he closed us out twice, his error. Save your money and go elsewhere!!
Overrated
Don’t expect anything similar to the restaurant in the movie … maybe except for the price and decor . The food is as bad as any amusement park joint.
Steak was flavorless and chewy. Save your money and go somewhere else
Steak was flavorless and chewy. We tried both the rare and medium steaks and both were not good. And it was $50. This was our one big meal at Disneyland Paris and it was a very disappointing experience. The chocolate mousse was good at least.
Great time good vegan options
We came for dinner we had a lovely time our waiter was ben and he was amazing vegan options were great themeing was good loved the food had a great time
Very bad experience
Little and expensive food. The truth is that I was expecting something since the decoration is very beautiful. I didn't think they were so mean with the quantities. A shame.
The best of Disney
The best of Disney. Booking is an odyssey but it is worth it. Very friendly staff, super good menu, from starters to desserts. The chocolate mousse is great.
Mixed thoughts
The decor and surroundings are absolutely on point, really fun and built up the excitement for eating here. We were booked in and were only 10 mins late on getting seated. The waiter gave us menus and disappeared for a good 15 mins. Took order and brought drinks soon after. The menu for the meal plan was tiny. Choice very limited especially with children in tow. Bistro yes but really does need a couple more choices. Duck starter was nice although plates were freezing cold so obviously pre prepared. Mains we all had steak which we had medium. We all enjoyed that. Desserts were nice too. All in all a good meal, slightly slow service but would return.
Very expensive not worth it
Considering the wait to book this restaurant, I was expecting it to be amazing. How wrong could I be! For the price, and very limited child’s menu( couldn’t even have ice cream). It was very disappointing. The food was bland, and not very hot. The steak was very chewy and not that tasty. The presentation of the food was nice, but the decor of the restaurant could’ve been a lot nicer. It would’ve been more fun, to have had a character or two, wander through for the children’s experience. I thought the French, were supposed to be renowned for their food? Sadly this has not been our experience. I would not return, as the very expensive cost and the poor menu. I would go and eat else where.
Fully booked on Disney App, but a 30min wait for walk-in for 2pax
Was bummed when I could not reserve a table on the Disney App, but we only had a 30-min wait for a walk-in request for a table for 2. The staff were very helpful, polite and friendly despite the large crowds. The decor was definitely on point - very on brand with the animated movie which was great even for adults to marvel at. However, the food was a little disappointing, a little on the bland side and the steak was chewy. A little expensive, but hey you're already there, might as well enjoy it.
I wouldn't eat here again, even if it were free!
We knew that we couldn't expect fine dining in a theme park - but the prices for the food and service are a total disgrace! After being seated, we were completely ignored for 15 minutes, as was the table next to us, who had to wait even longer. The food was really bad, I could have ordered an old shoe sole instead of a steak, and spices were forgotten everywhere anyway. The sauces had been warmed up in the microwave, and there was definitely skin floating on top. The poached egg in the starter came straight from the cold storage, and was ice cold. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, in the style of the Ratatouille film. Unfortunately, the carpets are absolutely disgusting because they are full of stains. I felt like I was in a dirty, noisy train station hall with pretty decorations. We paid almost €100 for two - for bad service, really bad food and an overall very sobering experience. Not recommended!
Would come back again in an instant!
Brilliant experience, very tasty food too (the chocolate desert / cake was the best of that kind I’d ever tasted, warm and gooey. :) Would 100% need to come back here if coming to Disneyland Paris again!
Disappointing
Very disappointing for the cost of the restaurant, food was bland, boring and cold. Service was poor as staff seemed uninterested. The only thing nice about the restaurant is the decor.
Good time
A good time at the bistro at Rémy! Let's make no mistake, for a French customer it's a bit of a tourist trap given the price and the quality of the dishes but in the end, thanks to the quality of the staff (our server was great!), the decor and the magic of the place……..we get into the game.
The worst in the park
The food left a lot to be desired, between the first course and the second an hour and a quarter, they avoided every 2x3 with the dishes. Then we had a bad experience with "the manager" because despite having booked the trip a year ago (2023), yesterday they told us that since March 2024 they have changed the conditions and drinks were no longer included (non-alcoholic of course). They made me take out all the documentation, they took it all from here to there because according to them, if we had contracted the trip before January 1, 2024 (for us October 2023) they would be included, because that "manager" came in a very bad manner and he told me in words and verbatim "do you have it in writing from me? If not, you have to pay for it." Of course I paid for them but I will never return to that restaurant in my life, terrible service, bad food, the only thing that saves the decoration
The worst disappointment of all was this restaurant
What a great disappointment. All the hope in the world for this meal so that in the end it all went wrong. First with reservation but tremendous queue to enter. Then you find a dirty and unkempt restaurant, crowded and with waiters who serve just enough. Two menus and a children's menu. Although this does not prevent entire tables of adults from ordering children's menus and nothing happens. The two menus are between expensive and very expensive. We ordered the one without dessert. The starters were scarce and tasteless, the main one, the meat, the worst meat I have ever eaten in my life, it was difficult to chew and swallow, with a ratatouille made by someone who has never tasted a decent ratatouille in their life. I spent an hour vomiting and the rest of the afternoon, feeling bad. The children's menu, in addition to being expensive, has small portions. Come on, the whole illusion with this restaurant turned into total and absolute disappointment after paying a small fortune for bad food.
The best restaurant in Disneyland
The place is very nice, super well decorated, the food is the best in all of Disneyland Paris, the meat on the menu was very good and the fish too. We were 6 people and we agreed, the best restaurant in Disneyland
Awesome
Here we are, the size of a rat, in a huge setting, the decoration is magnificent! Menu between main course and dessert, very good, it was with pleasure that we came.
Tourist trap
Very disappointed. We booked 2 months in advance, finally getting a table at the back, next to the cash register. The employees came to gather there and chat loudly without consideration for us, we thought we were in their employee lounge! Food quality was poor. Cafeteria food for 55 euros. Almost no choice, my horrible salad had a poached egg that was much overcooked and the salad was not fresh. A gourmet restaurant that is not capable of making a poached egg! TO AVOID, IT’S A SCAM.
Top despite everything
Excellent restaurant with magnificent decoration. The dishes are very good and plentiful and the service is excellent. Of course the prices are exorbitant (55 euros for a soup, a fillet of cod and a piece of Brie) but fortunately we had taken the full board meal plan (at the price of 105 euros for 3 meals + 1 breakfast) which allows the pill to pass. Impossible to book via the Disneyland website because there were no more places but when we went to the restaurant (leaving the Ratatouille attraction) we found a table for 8 (so much the better but strange all the same).
Exceeded expectations
Having seen mixed reviews we weren’t sure what to expect. However having enjoyed the ride and navigated a very busy reception to enter the restaurant we were not disappointed. We had a great table for 6 and our servers were friendly and efficient. Food is simple but of good quality and was enjoyed by the youngest and oldest in our group. Definitely worth a visit but booking for lunch seemed essential as a lot of people were turned away.
Absolutely worth trying to feel like a little mouse
Incredible dinner with birthday attached! Super friendly staff and really delicious food. We took advantage of half board and had the full menu available. Very good seasonal soup and second course or fish with the famous Ratatouille or meat. Super good desserts
Experience to forget
An experience to forget, the place is very beautiful but the food is terrible and you pay for it as if it were a very fine restaurant. My partner ordered a salad and inside there was a snail with an attached shell, the glasses tasted like egg and we had them changed, the little girl's pasta was inedible... €40 each for having eaten badly and with very high teeth , I'm very sorry because in a place like this you create a bit of expectations, but it's not really worth it, I'm sorry. They offered us coffee and 2 small beers to apologize, but it doesn't compare to the experience we had..
Perfect.
Very beautiful decoration, very good meal, and congratulations to our waiter Mathieu Who managed to make us dream, and who brought a smile back to our child, who was unable to do his favorite attraction because it was broken… ..
A really enjoyable lunch.
Brilliant decor, food and staff (Maria and Ben). Only downside was we were not able to be seated all together (9 of us) but we were given two tables side by side. Nice calm atmosphere, attentive staff and the food was amazing! Would recommend and go back any day.
disastrous experience
A place that is not worth it if they give you a place behind the restaurant, it is as if the atmosphere of Ratatuoille is not with you. They have you waiting to come and ask you what you want after half an hour. Food tastes bitter to me after experiencing this situation.
Disappointment
Let's start at the arrival. You arrive on time (even 5 minutes early) but they let you wait 25 minutes. Even though the reservation says: be on time because after fifteen minutes we will give away your table. We got a window table without any atmosphere…. Not at all what it should be. The service is terribly rude and it takes a very long time. We had made a reservation at 6 p.m., and at 7 p.m. we received a starter. With children who are very tired. We ate at the Manhattan the day before and it went well. Only had such problems here. You sit at a table that is very small and without atmosphere. Not recommended at all
Go eat somewhere else!
How very disappointing! After reading several different reviews I decided to give it a try. We were put at a table in the corner by the window, no atmosphere at all. The service was not friendly and everything had to be chosen quickly. The starter was okay, but the main course was really bad. The steak was beyond tough and it didn't look appetizing either. The ratatouille that came with it seemed to be days old. We asked a female waiter who was hanging at a standing table in the restaurant if she had salt. We had to ask the attendant who helped our table. No friendliness, no good service and the food was really terrible! We left and were given the dessert in a bag.
Slow to get seated, slow to get served and slow to get food.
The food is always amazing, as are the drinks. Staff always really friendly but the service is more often than not unacceptably slow during busy times. Last time we waited over an hour to get our order taken! Then 40 minute wait until food arrived, which was the main course and the starter did not arrive. As I say, the food and drinks are great but the overall experience was ruined on many occasions by poor delivery. We won't be going back.
Ooo La La! Excellent!
We're Disney adults visiting Disneyland Paris for the first time...OF COURSE we had to eat here! And our experience was Excellent! Professional, attentive service--very friendly, such creative theming with lots of details to look at, and a great menu. All three of us found the food to be just as delicious as we had hoped. Absolutely dine here if you are lucky enough to visit Disneyland Paris!
Remy Would Be Ashamed
This restaurant was one of the reasons I purchased the half board for our three day trip to Disneyland Paris. I knew there were three sit down restaurants I wanted to eat at including Walt's, Captain Jack's, and this one, so the half board made sense. I had read so many negative reviews about this restaurant that I wanted to prove it was up to its theming. I love the Ratatouille movie, I love the ride...I even love ratatouille! So when I say that the trouble started even before the front door, I'm not exaggerating. At 1:30 in the afternoon, a line had spilled outside the foyer into the courtyard. Although there was a counter there for a staff person, no cast member was to be seen. Beyond was a waiting area jammed, and I do mean jammed, with people. A rather distracted looking woman was helping people as quickly as she could. It took us several minutes just to wait our turn to tell her we had a reservation. I don't know how we got called so quickly ahead of the others, maybe because I'd made my reservations two months earlier and the other people waiting were more recent, but within minutes my husband and I were seated. The waitperson I will call C, because I have no axe to grind, appeared promptly. I tried asking for a carafe of water as we had done in every Parisienne restaurant we'd visited the week before, to which she replied that mineral water was on the menu. Okay, I let this slide, knowing I would have to pay extra for the coffee I always have with dessert. I ordered the "seasonal soup" which I believe she said was pumpkin with chestnuts or something like that. Obviously I did not receive what I ordered, because she brought my husband the pate he had ordered... and me one as well. Okay, I let that slide, too. However, as we were eating our rather bland pate, I noticed that our slices were rectangular while all around us people had nice square pates. After a while, I saw more rectangles and other squares, and I realized there must have been two different selections in the kitchen, and we received the much smaller-by-half-portion, which, if the big square tasted just as bland, who cares? (Obviously I did care, since I noticed. Mainly I was wondering if theirs was fresher, because ours tasted stale.) (The fig jam that came with it was yummy, though.) Next came the steaks...the nice, big, red, juicy steaks. Except I had ordered chicken. So back went the steak (nope, I can't eat red meat) and after a few minutes, here came the chicken I ordered. Thank heavens my husband's steak was delish. Seriously, he said it was the BEST thing he'd eaten to that point in our trip, and I was so happy for him. Since I don't recall a lot about the chicken, that's an indication of how my main meal went. But wait, there's more! When I saw on the menu pain aux fruits, I thought, oh yummy, fruitcake-ish something, with brie, and with a cup of coffee (I should have gotten for free if she'd brought the carafe of water instead of charging me for the Vittel) it's going to be a great dessert! Thankfully I'd had so many sweets in France to that point I was ambivalent about the dried-out, days-or-weeks-old-cricket-bat-of-a-sorry-excuse-for-a-dessert that I didn't care. (Obviously I did care, or I wouldn't have just written such an emotionally laden description.) Please, whatever you do, do NOT order the brie and pain aux fruits unless they guarantee you can send it back and get something edible. It's really sad just how awful the entire experience was, especially sandwiched between the boisterous fun of Captain Jack's with people on the Pirates ride shouting "bon appetit!" and the sweet serenity of Walt's. The question I keep coming back to with Walt Disney Studios is...who is in charge of this train wreck of a park? It can't be the same person who runs the Disneyland Park, because the inconsistency is just too profound. My hope is that after the big expansion is complete, the food service in WDS will improve. But I feel sorry for people who are going to be going to WDS after Studio 1 closes for its big makeover. Bring your own snacks, folks, or plan to leave the park during lunch to eat at Disney Village or the main park. I recommend Walt's first and Captain Jack's second. If you had a similar experience, write about it. Eventually it has to change. This restaurant is just too cute to be so awful.
