Not worth the $$
The Restaurant, had a somewhat limited menu in my opinion. Although they have meat and fish, they is not a good menu in my opinion. The couple at the table next to us were also expressing a similar opinion to the server. We donโt mind paying extra for sides but was told that the menu did not have such options. Not impressed with the quality of the food either. We ask for salt and pepper as taste was a bit bland. We were notified that restaurant does not carry black pepper. In the addition we felt that the server could have shown better service but we understand it may be a matter of training. This may be a great restaurant for others but we were disappointed based on Service, food taste and presentation along with limited menu.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding - like a trip to Spain
It's rare to find a truly excellent restaurant in a hotel. And if you do it typically has prices that are way out of line with other restaurants of similar quality. Top of the V is an exception - and exceptional. We started with a couple of excellent craft cocktails from their cocktail menu. Creative and delicious. $16-18 seems to be the new normal for these kinds of drinks on the West Coast. A bit steep, but a worthy investment accompanied by friendly bartenders. We started the meal with a rare treat in the US, Jamon Iberico. It's available here in its pure state and for a bit less a 75% Iberico. This means that the pig it came from was not of full Iberico genetics. We opted for the 100%. $35 gets you a plate of finely sliced slivers of Iberico. We hadn't had any since last year when we were in Spain (and it's EVERYwhere there). An indulgence to be sure, but oh-so-delicious. My only criticism here is that it is completely ala-carte. Typically when you get it in Spain it is accompanied by tomato bread - a crusty bread smeared with delicious fresh tomato puree. We ordered some Spanish cheese to go with it and it came with membrillo (quince paste) and a few slices of bread. From there it was the octopus with potato foam. Perfectly charred and tender octopus is accompanied by the lightest potato product you'll ever see. Any lighter and it would have floated off the table. We both swooned at this dish. Absolutely delicious. Next up was beef cheek with paquillo pepper puree. The cheek is one of the most coveted cuts from both beef and pork - it's wonderfully tender and resembles a slow-cooked short rib (only even more tender). This dish did not disappoint. Unctuous! We had the chocolate pot de creme for desert and it was wonderful. Service was friendly, although a bit slow - but that's the Spanish way. In Spain, for example, you have to literally tell the staff that you're finished or they will let you sit there all night.
Be the first to ReplyGood food and service, overpriced
Very good Spanish food and attentive and friendly service, but the price didn't match the value. Good atmosphere and view.

We were here for the New Year's Eve party. There were 6 of us and we each paid $250. Ambiance was great, service was okay-ish, and food was utterly disgusting. Indeed, the worst I've ever had in my entire life. Denny's or iHop is king compared to them. We all left hungry at the end, and I was looking to find a fast food nearby to go grab something. I cannot put in words how horrible and gut-wrenching the food was. There were numerous items, and they were all inedible. The service had issues as well. We went outside for a few mins to catch some air and left our drinks, including two bottles of wine with wine left inside, on our tables. The drinks were paid separately by us and were not included in the ticket price. When we came back everything was cleared and it seemed like they were selling our table to someone else. They did bring us two glasses of wine to try to make up for what happened, but realistically, this is completely unacceptable and amateur given that we've paid to stay for the whole night. Never coming back again. You should also go elsewhere.

We made reservations and were told the only available seating was at 5:15 and on the patio. As it was a very nice day, we thought this would be okay, but boy were we wrong. First, we got into the elevator and press the button for the 12th floor (the restaurant floor) and were greeted with a message saying, โThis is a restricted floorโ, so the elevator would not move. A guest then got in, put his key to the reader and pressed his floor, so we tried again to press floor 12. You got it; we were greeted with the great โThis floor is restrictedโ message again. Rather than go to the guest floor, we piled out of the elevator before the doors closed on us. So off to the front desk I go to find out how to go to find out how to get the elevator to take us to the restaurant only to be greeted by 20 very angry people waiting to check in. I waited for one of the front desk people to free up and after 5 minutes was told only elevator #1 and #3 work to go to the restaurant and to find one of these. There was no signage or anything stating this anywhere, and the only staff I could find were the two people at the front desk! Once we found the right elevator and got to the 12th floor, the hostess took us to our patio couch/seat. There were three of us and they sat us in a section of the couch with just two 16โ round tables to hold our drinks and dinner. As there was no way this would work, we asked if there was a way to get another table for the third person, after checking, the waitress said they had other people coming at 6:00, so there were no available tables on the entire patio to give us. We thanked her and decided to make do and ordered some appetizers and drinks. Shortly after ordering we started to get very hot, I would even say bake, as there was no shade, no breeze as in front of us was a big glass window, and behind us a set of reflective windows. We asked about getting an umbrella, but they said they did not have any; they had heaters, but nothing to block the sun on a hot sunny day. It got so bad about halfway through our first round of drinks and appetizers (15 minutes), that I asked for the bill so we could leave before even finishing what we had and ordering dinner. The waitress told us she would see if there was seating inside, even though we were told more than once that they were booked and nothing inside was available, and to our total surprise, she found us a table inside! It was now 6:00 and not one other person came and sat in the area where they said they had reservations for and could not give us another table. Once seated inside in the AC, we noticed that only about half the tables inside were taken, only one person sitting at the bar that would seat 10 people, and it stayed this way until we left about an hour afterwards. It seemed like they put everybody outside and kept the inside tables open for the customers that were spending money on food and complained about being in the extreme heat on the patio. We talked to a few staff members that backed this up. They even said that the people working outside hated it, as people left early and left very small tips because of the conditions, hence the staff made very little money working the patio. Unhappy staff does not make for a pleasant atmosphere. If you are just two people and go later, as the sun is setting, the patio may be better, but again, you will have to eat off cramped 16โ round metal tables. So do not plan on ordering more than one plate of food at a time. As for the food, it was good, and the price was you would expect when you are paying for the view, not the food. There is no valet parking, as that is for the hotel guest only, so you get to park in the parking structure and walk to the hotel.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, service and views...should be in the top 10 very soon.
Excellent food, service and views...should be in the top 10 real soon. This is really a fun place to visit..your greeted by some Stormtroopers (dressed in blu of course) in the lobby...modern decor...the restaurent is on the top floor with very nice views. I would suggest to ask for a table and chairs designed for eating...a lot of tables are designed for drinking only. They do have patio and indoor dining options. The food and service was really good. The prime skirt steak and Maine lobster paella was excellent..
