5 stars overall. Amazing and unique buffet dining experience! I came here with low/minimal expectations but the food blew me away. It was so good and I overate. I tried EVERYTHING at the buffet and these are the foods that really stood out and tasted fantastic: nut crusted salmon, Durban style roasted chicken, peanut rice, basmati rice, sambal chicken corn chowder (this soup warm, I wish it was hot), curry pasta salad, tabbouleh, Tunisian couscous, and corn bread (my favorite item here). Other foods that were good but not as great as the other listed items are the olive oil herb crusted potatoes (mashed potatoes), sweet corn pudding, mac n cheese, and the spiced pork ribs with tamarind honey bbq sauce (other people at my table loved these). There was a papaya, watermelon, guac salad which was interesting and not my palette and a squash soup that tasted bad (it was like savory pumpkin pie filling soup). I also tried all of the desserts available and I didn't think any stood out. Some were too sweet, sour, and/or just ok! My rating is a 4.5/5 overall because while the food was great, the dessert left more to be desired.
My family and I recently enjoyed a fantastic dinner
My family and I recently enjoyed a fantastic dinner experience here at Boma. Our server, Sam, was excellent and attentive throughout our meal. The buffet offers American and African-inspired food and desserts. Order your drinks from your server, and then go to town on the buffet! My favorite items for dinner: - Carving station with African Spiced Beef Striploin, Pork Ribs and Chicken. The sauces added great flavors to the perfectly cooked meats. - Chicken chowder soup was creamy and hearty. - Sweet and regular potato mash - Zebra domes, you can't just eat one. Plenty of beers, wine, and cocktails are also available. For non-alcoholic drinkers, there are a few tasty options to satisfy their thirst. I ordered the Agave Garden, which was refreshing and hit the spot after a long day at the parks. The decor has a relaxed African vibe. Dinner time was pretty busy, but the staff was hardworking and courteous. I recommend making reservations way in advance. DCA or Annual Pass discounts also apply! 4.5/5 stars!!
Breakfast here is amazing.
Best place for breakfast in all of Disney in my opinion. They have a wide variety of food, it's always great and hot. Definitely need to have a reservation or you may not get in. Taking a stroll before or afterwards to see some animals is a nice treat as well. Of course the resort is one of the best here as well.
I hate to say this, but breakfast at Boma is not worth it.
I was really excited to try Boma out for the first time and there were. Couple of things that I just felt were missing. Breakfast is served buffet style and immediately after grabbing one plate of food, I felt like we were being rushed to leave by our server. Other than that I will say the staff was very nice. The food was good, but besides the ham, there wasn't anything special about it and $37 + the price of drinks just feels really outrageous for the type of food plus the fact that we felt we were rushed through our meal. The restaurant itself is very nice and I liked the theming, just be prepared for it to be very loud and to sometimes wait in long buffet lines.
Went to Boma after watching several mouth watering youtube
Went to Boma after watching several mouth watering youtube videos. It did not disappoint!! From the overall atmosphere to the amazing server could not say more about this place. I went for breakfast, all the different food stations had something amazing to try. Did not have one bad thing on any of my plates! From there carved ham and honey mustard sauce to the mickey and simba waffles. The detail around the restaurant and the views from outside make it even more spectacular! Will be making this a stop on each trip from now on.
If you are looking for a unique dining experience with new
If you are looking for a unique dining experience with new flavors be sure to make a reservation at Boma in The Animal Kingdom Lodge. There are so many wonderful dishes included in this buffet; fish, beef, chicken, salads, sides, soups, condiments, desserts etc. No matter what you're looking for you'll be able to find it here. Some of my favorites are the Boboti, the corn pudding, the curry pasta salad, and the sauces. Dont forget to try their signature zebra cake and check out some of the signature cocktails! Boma is a large open space, so it can get loud. If you have children, know that it's a child-friendly space. The buffet is large, and well organized, so you won't need to spend much time waiting in line. The service is the high-quality variety you've come to expect from Disney. The staff is happy to answer questions about the dishes and make recommendations. Overall, you shouldn't miss Boma if you're planning to be in Orlando, FL!

We went to Boma last night and again it was fantastic! We arrived a little bit early, and we were able to get a table right the way. Food was delicious as always, but I think I prefer breakfast - I just love Mickey Waffles

The hotel lobby where Boma is on the lower level is beautiful. I am never a fan of buffets and try to avoid them always, probably because I'm gluten free. However this place gets gluten free. Offered me many options. They had gf crackers, rolls and special desserts chief brought me from the kitchen. If you go here ask to talk to the chef in charge of allergies and they have so many goodies in the kitchen like gf mac and cheese. They also have a special menu for those with allergies. Like I said not a fan of buffets but this was a good one for those who are gf. I'm giving four stars because they were so incredible to me with gluten free food, otherwise I'd give a 3.5 rating because I'm not a buffet fan.
The food is always pretty good.
But the service is what needs work. From the moment you're seated your server is trying to rush you out of there like you aren't dropping $50 per person. And then you get attitude for taking for time or asking about pass-holder discounts. This could be one of the best places to dine at on disney property if the service wasn't so consistently bad.

We had an excellent dinner at Boma! As a group of 11, we were unable to make reservations online for the entire party so we split the group into two reservations. When we arrived, we checked in online and let the staff know that the two reservations were the same party. They kindly accommodated us and combined tables to fit us all. Dinner is served as a buffet for $56 . Kids 2 and under eat free. Otherwise, the children's price is $29. The menu is extensive and worth the cost if you eat a lot! Inspired by foods from the continent of Africa, there appeared to be foods that appealed to all - Senegalese yassa-style salmon, tamarind barbecue ribs, Durban rotisserie chicken, lamb bobotie, carved strip loin, coconut rice, spiced green beans with raisins, black-eyed pease with greens and chakalaka, basnsti rice, oxtail stew, Côte d'Ivoire seafood chowder, sambal-chicken-corn chowder, butternut squash soup, and various salads abd fruits. They also had a "kids station" with macaroni and cheese, peas and corn, pasta, meatballs with marinara, and mealie dogs,. The menu changes some during the week. Deserts were the highlight of the meal for us. We were also pleased to see such a comprehensive allergy guide as we have multiple allergies and dietary intolerances that affect family members. Despite this, there was no problem with everyone finding something that thcould eat.
Truly spoilt at Boma!
My husband and I stayed at Jumbo House for 3 nights. I made a dinner reservation for Boma before we arrived as I was very excited to see what South African/African delicacies Boma had to offer. As a South African living abroad there’s not very many opportunities to eat popular South African dishes out, so I was very excited at the prospect. Boma did not disappoint, loved the Bobotie especially and I’m hoping to see Boerewors on the menu in the future too! In fact, we liked it that much, that I cancelled our dinner reservation for the next night at another restaurant and we went to Boma again the following night! The buffet style service gives you the opportunity to enjoy all your favourites and more. My husband also loved the South African wines on offer. Eating some South African and other African dishes were truly delightful. But the absolute highlight for me was meeting so many wonderful smart hardworking young people from Southern Africa - it felt truly like being home! Michael, Tina, Tsakani and Leonora from South Africa, Lala from Zambia and Admire from Zimbabwe were some of the wonderful hosts in Boma, who made us feel extra special. Stephen, Michelle and Nelson our servers (not from Africa, but we won't hold it against them ) were great too! We can't wait to come back! Thank you for spoiling us.
I tried this place for dinner and was pleasantly surprised.
All in, with tip, the buffet came out to a little over $60 (with the annual passholder discount of 10% off.) This is without any drinks. Is it worth it anywhere outside of Disney? Probably not. But you have to remember that everything Disney is more expensive, which is why I think this place is reasonable for Disney standards. My friend make a mistake and booked us a reservation for another day. Luckily when we got there the waitlist (which you can see on the app) was only 10 minutes. It seems like this isn't a super high demand restaurant, but it was very busy. We were there on a Tuesday night so if you're going on a weekend, best bet is to make a reservation ahead of time. This place has food that will appeal to everyone and then more specialized food. The curry pasta salad comes to mind when I think of what was a little more unique. The stuff that will appeal to everyone is like their prime rib carving station (which was delicious), mashed potatoes, bread, etc. They had four soups/gumbos that were all pretty good. They have your standard kids fare of mac and cheese (which is always delicious at Disney), and chicken tenders. Dessert is also a pretty large selection, my favorite being the zebra domes and cheesecake. I didn't like the bread pudding, which was disappointing since it looked amazing. The buffet never got too packed, so I didn't feel like I was wasting time standing in line. Our server took a while to get there when we were first seated, but he was very good at coming around after that. I was never lacking water and I never felt like my empty plates piled high. I do love Animal Kingdom Lodge's decor, so that's also a plus about coming to eat here. They don't check reservations on your phone so you can say you're coming to eat at Boma and then do waitlist (some of the more popular places like the Contemporary actually scans your magic band/phone to check).
Great food every time.
One of Disney's best buffets. The service is great and so is the atmosphere.

Too loud and busy , not may options to eat, could not find anything kids friendly, yes they do have a lot of sweet, but lack of main courses. Plus expensive, not going back.

I can honestly say this was the best breakfast buffet we have ever had. Food is fresh and plentiful. Servers are sweet and funny and made great recommendations. Will definitely return!!
Nice atmosphere but food is the same as other Disney Resorts
I know everyone raves about this restaurant, but our experience didn't measure up. It's a buffet, so if you like that style then there is ample food and many choices. However, I expected something a level above normal Disney Food Service fare. Most of the items were exactly the same as the breakfast served in my fast food service at another hotel (eggs, omelets, potatoes, etc). The service was great. But I just felt like I overpaid for what I received. It was $100 for 2 adult buffets + tip.
Boma Breakfast Buffet
Had the breakfast buffet at Boma. Very nice selection to choose from. Typical American food as well as some African sauces and items available. It even included an option for a Mickey Waffle or Simba Waffle. Would definitely suggest.
Decent but not stupendous
I went there on the suggestion of a friend and was looking forward to the meats, which he said were unusual and delicious. Although I’m not a huge carnivore, I was expecting some wild game or at least a roasted lamb. Instead, I found very good salmon and chicken along with inedible roasted beef strip loin ( could not chew it) . Pretty American. The other rave was for the desserts which are adorable in appearance, but overly sweet for my tastes. The best items on the menu were the soups and sides, especially the peanut rice and the oil roasted mashed potatoes. Otherwise, this was somewhat of a disappointment for me. Decent, but overly priced at $60/person. The building is quite beautiful though, so check it out.
The Best Buffet
This is an amazing buffet! My wife and I love it. So do our kids. So many options and lots of interesting flavours. The soups and meats and all great! Expensive, but worth it.
Awesome and diverse buffet
The older I have gotten the less enamored of buffets I have become, but Boma continues to be an outstanding exception. The quality of the food and the diverse selection is really unique, such a great opportunity to sample a bunch of different type of cuisines you don't get the chance at often. They also have a great selection of cocktails, love the African Margarita. Great service and Animal Kingdom Lodge is just a wonderful location. Highly recommend.
Not what is used to be
Made a repeat visit to Boma last week while visiting the Mouse. Hadn’t been there in a few years but love the lodge and always amazed at the variety of unusual items representing Africa and the far regions of the world. However something strange happened and the Boma buffet has been reduced to a typical American style buffet. Ribs, chicken and some very tough carved beef. Macaroni and cheese, salad bar …boring. The soups turned out to be the highlight but we certainly,y missed the wild game and other treats from the past. Not sure when this change occurred but we are certainly less likely to make a return visit without the uniqueness that we used to enjoy.
Good buffet
The buffet was very good and it was very creative as an African styled one. The food was good and, Lauren, our server, was very professional. Would recommend if you’re thinking of a place to dine after a day at the park.
Breakfast Buffet
Waited just 5 minutes past our reservation time! Very friendly hostesses and waitress. Buffet line moved quickly. The eggs with goat cheese were delicious, as was the egg nig bread pudding with vanilla sauce. Would recommend.
Delicious breakfast and good value
This was my second time visiting Boma and it was delicious both times. The juice that is served at Boma is amazing and all of the food at this buffet is delicious. The only problem we had during our latest visit, some of the food was not replenished when the pans were empty or near empty. It was also hard to get some of the hand carved meat, because the individual working this station was no where to be seen. Other than these two problems, this is an amazing place to eat breakfast and an awesome value. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for breakfast.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

Banned from Resy for selling reservations- Do we have a rat on our hands???
I am new to this app and started off by selling a polo bar reservation and then quickly sold one more reservation. Not long after I received emails from Resy saying all my reservations are cancelled and I am being banned from Resy for life. How could this have possibly happened without a rat telling Resy that I sold the reservation. I need some advice on this situation and let’s catch the rat!

I have a big ongoing and it also shows someone is working on my bid. Today I see there is a " Buy Instantly " option at my portfolio showing same price I've bid for a reservation. I'm a bit confused, since my money has already been deducted from my credit card for the bid, do I need to pay one more time for the Buy Instantly? If I choose Buy Instantly, can I cancel my bid ( while someone is working on it )? Thanks!
