Awful in Miami
Food was really salty and inedible. Service was awful and slow. Forgot order and wine. Waited way too long for everything. Bourbon Steak in Orange County CA was a much better experience.
Be the first to ReplyFor those who like to eat amidst deafening noise.
Modern restaurant, extremely noisy. Impossible to talk at the table. Unfriendly service, I think we were unlucky with the waitress, uninterested and not very attentive. Correct food, tasty meats, ok side dishes. Very expensive. The price of Hakasan has come out, which is exceptional. I think Nortons is much better. I won't go back, I won't go back.
Be the first to ReplyNew years dinner
We went to spend New Year’s Eve, it was okay but the service was lacking and the timing was very late. Eventually the manager gave us a compliment but the servers where not it.
Be the first to ReplyGood not great
The room was fine. The service was fine. Attentive but a bit cool especially at the bar. The food was fine. I had a really lovely sea bass but not the best ever. The check was extraordinary.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing Father's Day Dinner
Went for Father's Day dinner and honestly, it made for a disappointing celebratory meal. We have been in the past and it was much better, so hoping this time was a fluke. Wait times, food and drink quality and consistency, and service were all off. We had a reservation and were seated pretty timely, but after ordering drinks, it took more than 30 minutes for them to arrive. First round of drinks were at least tasty - the sazerac and Miami-rita (I think it was called - their take on a margarita, but with pineapple and chili) were tasty and well balanced.. We didn't get a chance to order our second round of drinks until partway through our entrees because we didn't see a server for awhile, then they took another 30+ minutes to arrive, and were not good - first round had lemon peel garnish in the sazerac and margarita had a rim and chili oil garnish which were all missing in 2nd round and sazerac came out an entirely different color. I mentioned it to the server who brought the drinks and she said she would check on it with the bartender, then never came back. We had finished our food by the time the second round of drinks came, and since they were awful, we regretted even ordering them. Our server came back later and offered to switch them for new ones, which was appreciated, but by the time we got the replacement ones, we had been done eating almost 40 mins and were just sitting around waiting for the drinks. As for food, it was a mixed bag. The fries they send out with the dipping sauces were delicious and a good mixture of flavors. The rosemary fries in particular were great, and all 3 dipping sauces were flavorful and unique. My husband ordered a skirt steak for his Father's Day dinner, but then they were out of skirt steak. He switched it for a NY Strip medium rare and I ordered a filet medium, and the steaks were not as we ordered them - his was much more well done and mine was bloody. Again, we did not see our server during our entree course so we couldn't do anything to get them fixed. The best part of our entree course was the mashed potatoes with the crispy garlic on top - perfect texture and the crispy garlic was a punch of flavor and texture. The onion rings were fine (could have be served hotter temperature-wise/crispier), but the sauce they came with was divine. The Mac and cheese was fine, nothing special, and the tomato salad was delicious. We would have ordered dessert but were ready to go after how the rest of the night had gone, so we skipped it. Service was also a mixed bag. Hostess was attentive, our server was friendly when he was there, but we barely saw him. The server who brought our drinks was downright unfriendly and seemed to think I was unreasonable for asking that our second round of drinks have all the ingredients the way the same drinks had been during the first round. Again, I am hoping it was just a busy night being a holiday and therefore a fluke. But a steak restaurant should be able to at least serve steaks at the requested cook level and drinks should be consistent, esp if they take 30+ mins each round.
Be the first to ReplyThank you Ceaser and Bourbon
Service, atmosphere and consistency is unmatched. The experience at Bourbon Steak from the moment you walk in until you walk out is incredible. Food is outstanding. Service is great (Make sure to ask for Ceaser) and desserts are really really good. This is one of my go to restaurants From celebrating birthdays to business bourbon does it all!

I ate here twice during a business week at the JW Marriott; the first time I had the short rib and creamed spinach. Very good. Second night I had the tuna tartare - a dish that’s always been a favorite of mine - but unfortunately I became violently ill shortly after and was sick all night. Possible it was a fluke but seems likely that it wad related to uncooked tuna … which has never bothered me any other time I’ve eaten it. Bartender (dark haired guy) was amazing … and great service overall from all staff.
Be the first to ReplyNot so great...Way overpriced and LOUD
We got there at our reservation time of 6pm. We were sat promptly and the first thig I noticed was that the silverware was placed directly on the table...no tablecloth but right on the table. I dont care how well you clean, that presents problems. I asked for another napkin and got one. The next thing was the loud music...boom boom boom just starting to give me a headache. I asked and they did tune it down a bit but this is a restaurant, not a nightclub on SoBe at 1am. Instead of a nice quality bread, we were given seasoned french fries. Nothing like pumping oil fried food into an empty stomach...yuk. The waitstaff was great and Randy our waiter wonderful and pleasant. We had 2 Ceasar salads and my wife had the filet mignon and I had the veal chop. The filet was thin and wide, medium rare to medium but hardly as tender as my veal chop. Thin filet mignon doesn't lead well to tenderness. Both entrees were plainly presented on large white plates with a swirl of au jus....boring. The sides of onion rings and truffled mac and cheese were outstanding. We had 2 cappuccinos and 2 desserts. My wife had 2 drinks at $23/per and I had bottled water. The bill came to $390, tip included at 20%. It was our Anniversary and I dont mind spending money but for the value, it was a bust. I have had better filet mignon at chain steakhouses and this one was not worth it. My veal chop was great at $80. Overall, if you like loud places, which this one got as the time progressed, over priced food and drinks you will love this place. Michael Mina, whose group owns this and 40 others cant be there all the time if ever and it shows. To add insult to injury, we had our parking ticket stamped and the charge was still $10 to valet park plus the tip after spending almost $400 in the restaurant. Not even The Breakers charges you to park if you dine there which we do frequently so returning to this place would be a big NO.
Be the first to ReplyGood all around!
Good all around with a nice ambiance, good food and good service. A very good drink and wine list. A menu with other meat options too!
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing!
I wanted to take a dear friend of mine to a show and memorable dinner for her birthday. I spent weeks trying to find the perfect steak house, and finally picket Bourbon Steak. I have to say when we arrived the restaurant it was all I expected when it comes to atmosphere and attentive staff. Once we sat down and ordered our drinks and salads we were very impressed and excited for what was to come. The drinks were amazing and the wine was spectacular. Our salads came and immediately I started to worry. My friend ordered the wedge salad and I had the beet salad. Her salad was not even a wedge, but a shaved wedge salad in a bowl that didn't even have all the ingredients as described on the menu; she even had to ask from more dressing. My beet salad had about 3 beats in it and a large piece of bread over it to hide the tiny salad that coast over 25.00 dollars. Giving the first presentation the benefit of the drought we didn't discuss how disappointing it was because we didn't want to ruin our evening. Then we received our main entrée, it was at this point I realized this restaurant is not what I imagined it would be, there was no presentation on our plates for an appealing eye; just a slap of meat. My friends Lamb looked like it was on steroids and she couldn't cut into it, needless to say she sent it right back and didn't ask for another entrée. My Veal was ok and eatable but I have had better veal from the grocery store, I didn't send it back because at this point I was starving. The staff was accommodating and took her meal off the bill but didn't seen too concerned that we were having a terrible experience. Finally the bill came and we still were containing our disappointment because it was a special occasion. The bill was 375.00 and the only thing that was delightful was the wine, cocktails and atmosphere. I have been to some of the BEST steak houses in America and this steak house was the most disappointing meal I have ever had.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent at a price
The food and service was excellent but this is the kind of restaurant that is best if dining with an expense report. There were 10 of us and we started with 3 seafood towers and a couple other appetizers. The towers were really high quality but $180 each. All steaks were at least $60 with some seafood choices a little less. The wine list is extensive but very few reds were less than $100. We tried most of the sides and all were good - creamed spinach, wild mushrooms, grilled cauliflower, mashed potatoes, truffle mac and cheese. A very interesting dish was the lobster pot pie, which was basically a large portion of lobster cooked in a pastry. The waiter prepares it for the diner to make it easy to eat.
Be the first to ReplyRitzy restaurant - Bourbon Steak Miami by Michael Mina
Bourbon Steak Miami by Michael Mina is a great steak house with super friendly service hidden within the JW Marriott Aventura hotel. We had a great evening with delicious well prepared food, great wines and professional service.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic steak restaurant.
This is now my go to steak place in South Florida. The steaks were cooked perfectly Pittsburgh medium rare. The sides were fantastic and they have this Gorgonzola risotto with asparagus that is completely over the top fantastic. For a high-end steak restaurant the prices were not too bad. And clearly worth the price. I will go back again real soon.
Be the first to ReplyLoved my meal
Went for the first time and was take care of by Giussepe, everything was great. My favorite was the lobster bisque and the ribeye. Will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyHigh expectations but disappointing
We were very excited to try Miami’s Michael Mina‘s restaurant for our anniversary after trying the one in San Francisco. We knew it would be expensive but thought it would be worth a splurge. Service was excellent as you would expect. The food was disappointingly hit and miss - The complementary seasoned french fry appetizer was absolutely divine. The beet Salad was so good until I took a bite of the grilled bread - The cook had totally burned the bottom side and turned it over so you couldn’t see it - it was inedible - We told the server & he smiled & took it away. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and The Seabass was also delicious. The garlic potatoes were a bit runny and the roasted brussels sprouts were good but were a bit on the burned side - you expect a little toasting on the edges but it was beyond that. we didn’t finish those either.
For dessert we had the Keylime pie with mango sorbet which was very good.
when we got our check we expected The beet salad to be comped since it was ruined but that did not occur. all in all I would not return for a $350 meal that was mediocre.
Great to be back after 2 years
So nice to be back after 2 years. Everyone was very warm and welcoming. We had outstanding service from Randy and the whole dining room team.
Our steaks were probably the best we’ve ever had…perfect temperature and texture. “Crusty” on the outside. Tender on the inside.
A very lovely dinner.
Great Steak and Service
This is a one of a kind luxury restaurant which presents itself fashionably. Service is excellent and the food delicious. Pretty pricey. It situated in the JW Turnberry. Great for special ocasions.
Be the first to ReplyGood Food Slow Service
Staying at hotel so we decided to eat here one night. Staff is very good but very short staffed so did not see them a lot. The food was excellent french fry starter and tuna tartar for app. Steaks were done right and the Lobster Pot Pie was an event but $105 dollars was a little high. Have to be business event or special occasion to eat here.
Be the first to ReplyHidden in the JP Marriott Aventura hotel “The Bourbon Steak” restaurant is very refined quality dinning gem.
As most grand luxury hotel in Miami area have one of these incredible restaurants, the competition is quiet ferocious both in quality and creativity, to attract those with more means to their table. We have an immediate sens of that when approaching the large glass doored entrance of the Bourbon Steak. A gentleman, with operating staff were waiting for us behind a large mirrored glass counter to check our reservation: the place is premium and you should always reserve in advance your table or you can be refused.
We were assigned a leather booth table with a beige confortable cushion, increasing the “feel at home” effect. The waiters were numerous with each a part in this perfect evening proposing high quality waters, cocktails and drinks.
I chose for appetiser a true Caesar Salad, with fresh anchovies and parmigiana, a refreshing delight. At a place like that, one must try a filet mignon of their best steaks, so we did. It arrived perfectly cooked to our specification-rare in my case-is there any other way to eat it?
The side dishes were creative: caramelised Brussels sprouts with pomegranate and sesame seeds, marsh potatoes and incredible spinach in cream. All very delicious, and easily combined with the wonderful taste of ripe steak. After this feast we indulged ourselves in the desert card, complete with House sweet specialities, very refined digestive spirits and a surprising and impressive choice of cigars.
The ambiance was very delicate and fun, our many waiters were very professional, especially Natalia who was a master of details and gentleness to us, and to others as well.
I am very hard to impress and they did it, so I gave them a 9/10 for a very pleasant evening. The price was astronomical but it was worth every penny.

Amazing experience
So we went there yesterday and we absolutely LOVED it! The whole staff is so friendly, welcoming and so kind as well! I remember trying to open a bottle of water to fill in my glass and a waiter came straight to me and said “don’t worry I’ll do it for you” and he filled my glass with water. This is the type of attention you love to see when you’re a customer. + The food was a MADNESS! It was worth every single penny!
Big big thanks to the team.
Good dinner
Good steak, very friendly staff, not a great ambiance (if seated in a corner in the “lounge”. The food is just fine. But there are much better steak places in the Miami area (like a Prime 112).
Be the first to ReplyStill waiting??? Come and find out for yourself
Again fellow friends! This is by FAR the best stake house in North Miami!!! I can continue to confirm that yoo should look no further… service is the best in North Miami as well!
This is a place that I can call “home” as I live in the area, but if I didn’t, I would still recommend people to drive over 1 hour to come here!
Atmosphere amazing, food impecable, Service the best in N Miami, Food, very very good… I do have to point out that the desserts have improved immensely!!! A few months ago they did change the menu and incorporated new deserts that were off balance and too sweet! Today we had the panacotta and the lava cake, both were less sweet and much more balanced! Still missing that Bourbon Steak signature perfection, but 4/5 from 2/5!!!! So, congrats chef!
Could continue much longer, but don’t want to bore you to come, this place is to come period!!! Cheers
