As Ranveer B, says on MC, "Swaad aa gya!!"One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Strikes a perfect balance of ambience. service and flavor. This shows as average weekend wait times can be around 15-20 mins. What I loved:- Avocado bhel. Perfectly balanced Indian and Mexican flavors.- Gobi Manchurian. Amazing balance of sweet and sour.- Fig and walnut kofta. Innovative take on a traditional kofta.- Choco Rasmalai - Dark chocolate bitterness with sweetness from the rasmalai. What I did not like:- On a few occasions, some pieces of roasted chicken in butter chicken were chewy though curry has always been at point.

I've loved this place, primarily for how warm and welcoming the waiters here are and the food is always good (on the healthier fresher end). I come here regularly and have recommended this place to many of our friends over the year. However, I had a disappointing experience recently. I asked the owner (swati) as we were getting seating if we could sit on one of tables we pointed to (there were several empty tables). She used a rude tone and said no, they're reserved. I am completely fine with the no if the tables are actually reserved, however her tone was condescending and curt which left both me and my husband feeling very disrespected. Something we never expected from this place. Like I said, the main draw of this place for us has been the amazingly nice, warm and attentive waiters here--they always make us feel cared for, elevating the experience. Sadly, the owner has ruined this experience for us recently.
Be the first to ReplyOh so solid - probably more of a 4.
5 but because of distance from my home combined with "on the pricier end of higher end Indian" I just cant go 5 starts. We had the pani puri which was great and authentic but would have been better with more of the filling (4/5). For mains we had the chicken biryani (4/5 - prefer a little less chicken, a little more rice), the butter chicken (5/5 - nice to have a butter chicken that still has some spice), the lamb seekh kebab (5/5 - my favorite of the night), and the Rahra Gosht (4.5/5). Also had the naan and papardum which were both 5/5. Made an ordering mistake and should have substituted a veggie dish. If we find ourselves down here again, we would go, but because of cost probably wouldn't make the 45 minute journey again.
Be the first to ReplyThis food rocks! Quite literally.
Two small pebbles in the lamb with spinach was a deal breaker, not to mention tooth breaker for me.We've ordered several times in the past and the food was always too salty, but generally satisfying. It's close and delivery is excellent, but a potentially broken tooth isn't acceptable.

Food : 4/5 What we tried Appetizer - Avocado Bhel 5/5 the combination just works, Bhel had a nice taste with proper amount of chutneyMain:Fig walnut kofta (4/5) kofta was amazing the gravy was alright. Dal makhani (5/5) really nice flavor of dal, well spiced balanced with right amount of creaminess Naan & whole wheat roti - well cooked Side of basmati rice Drink:Tropical cooler (non-alcoholic) - a nice blend of orange, mango and lychee juices Dessert:Chocolate rasmalai (5/5) great presentation and taste! Service: 4/5 very attentive staff and food comes out fairly quickly Ambiance : decent with candles on each table and neatly arranged napkins and cutlery.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a weeknight dinner and enjoyed my experience.
We ordered a variety of vegetarian dishes and all were solid. Service was fantastic and attentive. Parking is a bit of a struggle since they're located in downtown RWC, but that's not unique to Broadway Masala. Recommend giving them a try!
Be the first to ReplyFood is awesome and customer service is awesome.
The kofta dish is different and lots of Kofta. Rangoli flavors of India in Fremont is a joke compared to this place. Same price but better food quality here at Broadway Masala. Ambiance is good too. Saturday night not too many kids here since it's expensive. Older kids 10 plus it's good. Worth driving 25 minutes from Milpitas. Unusual variety and usual variety.

Fantastic food, amazing service and good for fine dining for occasions. Absolutely loved the food.Must try if u want Indian food in Redwood City
Be the first to ReplyNice ambient and service but the food quality was not good.
The meat was not cooked well, and chicken didn't taste fresh. For such a price you expect much better food.

Flavorful food, creative presentation, great service, and calm ambiance at Broadway Masala! This restaurant is located in one of my favorite downtowns, Redwood City downtown - a cute town with outdoor movie nights at their city hall, and sooo many amazing bars and restaurants to try!Parking is easy to find on the street, if not the street there is a nearby public parking structure (first 1.5 hours free, or 4 hours free if you go to century theaters and get the ticket validated there). This place has hit the flavors right with most of their food items and plate the food to appetize the senses. Not too expensive either $$EXCELLENT: avocado bhel, salmon tikka, dhaniya adraki paneer, mango lassiGOOD: fig and walnut kofta, apricot tikkiCAN BE BETTER: mango mojito - the alcohol and mango syrup don't mix and you can taste both separatelyOverall, I will keep coming back for more!

One of the good upscale Indian restaurants I have been to in the recent past. The ambience was welcoming, the lighting in the restaurant during dinner was just perfect and gave a cozy feeling. The Buddha statue was a good welcoming sight and the location is perfect for a downtown as it was easy to find parking.Coming to food, it was super tasty and well presented. I also liked the gesture where the waiter was so generous and was serving food for the group. Highly recommend if you are in for tasty food. If you are looking for really spicy food, this may not be your pick.

Made a reservation for my bday! Two of us , me and my partner . We had :Avocado Bhel : 5/5 ! ( this was so good ) . Just enough for two . But we actually wanted to get one more lol. It was tangy and scrumptious.Jackfruit taco : 1/5 . It was just ok . Not good. Probably won't get again. Tiny tacos and flavor and texture was just ok.Vegetable Biryani :5/5 ( not mushroom one . This is not there in menu , so u just ask ) Kali dal Makhni : 5/5 Meen malwani : 4/5 . The fish in the dish was just succulent and cooked perfectly that it made up the whole dish ! The sauce it was in was good , had tangy notes . Romali roti : 3/5. Texture good ! But flavour : it was not real whole wheat so didn't have much flavor . Chocolate molten lava cake is its icecream : 5/5 ! Drinks : Tropical cooler : 5/5 ! So good Virgin mojito : 3/5 . Very tangy . Ok. Over all the food was great ! And enough for two with plenty of leftovers from the mains ! For another serving for two ! Total cost : 160$ ( incl tax and tips ) Service : 5/5

Food: Ordered the lamb biriyani which was very flavorful and came out piping hot. Meat was tender but still had a great chew and was not gamey at all in taste. My only complaint is that I wish there was more meat. But very delicious!Dal: again, really delicious. Was great with the rice from the lamb dish.Butter chicken: A staple. A favorite of many. This one tasted more tomato-like than some others that I have had before but that is not a negative on its deliciousness for me. Lots of yummy sauce came with it and mixed well with the other dishes we got. Service: super friendly! Incredibly kind and personable. The food came out fast too!
Be the first to ReplyReally wanted to try the fig kofta out here after reading
Really wanted to try the fig kofta out here after reading rave reviews but might, it had 0 taste. I am not sure if they messed up, but it tasted like nothing. No flavor. In contrast their gobi Manchuria was perfect in terms of crispiness and taste. They have a lot of seating but the area is not well ventilated so it gets all smoky and smelly with the sizzling preparations in the kitchen

Thanks to the yelp community I discovered this great Indian restaurant. Like many other Indian restaurants these days Broadway masala offers a fusion menu but the only difference is the food here actually tastes good. Quinoa and avocado bhel - Nice spin to the Indian bhel by adding healthy avocado. Accompanied with chutneys it was packed with flavours Fig and walnut Kofta- Really good alternate to the traditional malai kofta. Koftas were soft and moist while gravy was creamy and richPaneer adraki - generous amount of paneer pieces with tomato onion gravy. Given the name I was hoping to get a stronger kick of ginger. Overall a very pleasant experience. Would be coming back soon to try other things on the menu
Be the first to ReplyBroadway Masala has its mojo back.
We loved this place when it first opened years ago, but found the food became kind of mediocre in the following couple years. Since the fire though they seem to have regrouped. Loved the bhel appetizer, the fig walnut pakoras, and the fish curry. The sauces were amazing in flavor and consistency. Can't wait to go back!

Fantastic Indian food! Prepared any way you like for spice levels. Goat cheese naan and mushroom naan is to die for. I love dipping the naan into the sauces
Be the first to ReplyGreat customer service very nice and great food.
A little pricey but worth it.I love to go there on my vegetarian day.

Located in downtown redwood city, we had a great dining experience at Broadway masala. The menu was filled with unique dishes and everything was very flavorful and different unlike a regular Indian restaurant. The service was especially great. We got the Avocado & Raisin bhel and Roasted Ajwain & Fresh Turmeric Paneer Tikka for appetizers, Fig and walnut Kofta and Wild mushroom biryani for the mains, Roomali roti and Herbed goat cheese naan for the breads. The fig & walnut Kofta was hands down the best, tasted so good with Roomali roti. My friends said they enjoyed the naan too. The biryani was so flavorful. The only let down was the paneer Tikka, was pretty okay. Do keep in mind that it's gonna cost you a bit to eat here! A nice place to celebrate a special occasion over a meal.

We had a full course dinner with drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert. Each of them exceeded our expectations. Especially the chocolate rasmalai! Staff is friendly & kept checking in to ensure everything was well. The price is a little steep, but we didn't mind given how good experience turned out.
Be the first to Replyexcellent food and prompt service.
Nalli Nihari Lamb dish was amazing, Saag Paneer was the best.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food and great service.
Butter chicken, seekh kabab and rumali roti were our favorites. Must try and will come back for sure!
Be the first to ReplyI used to LOVE Broadway Masala.
However, they seem to have a new chef and the food has gone from fabulous to less than mediocre. Very disappointed. Btw. The eggplant used to be unique, delicious...it has now been taken off the menu and replaced with a run-of-the-mill, really bad 'Bharta'.. nothing unique. Get the old chef back, and return to the fabulous delicious food that you used to have.

Amazing Fig and walnut kofta! Would recommend the Apricot tikki s well. I would've given a 5 star it it wasn't for the extremely poorly made rumali roti. Other breads were great.
