Buttermilk & Bourbon Boston Reviews from The Last Year
My fave old fashion in Boston!!!! Definitely worth checking
My fave old fashion in Boston!!!! Definitely worth checking out and eating some good ole southern comfort food
Everything was so delicious and the service was so good.
We got a wonderful st pattys day drink. The biscuits were my favorite! The chicken was fried but not too fried where it was greasy. Highly recommend!
Love the decor, atmosphere and staff! One word : Bisquits.
They are an out of body experience.
I came here hoping this place would live up to the reviews.
I ordered the chicken and wagyu sliders and they were not good. I've had a better chicken sandwich at chick fil a. The only reason this place received any stars is because of the biscuits. On top of the mediocre food, the service was disappointing. It took forever for our server to come to our table. We never got any water refills or the lemons that we requested. I definitely won't be returning.

My boyfriend and I came to Boston for a small getaway and to see the city. We ate at Buttermilk and Bourbon the first night here and wow.!! We were both very impressed. The Warm Biscuits were clearly a staple as every table had them, we didn't even order them initially but couldn't help but add it on. Thank god we did. 10 out of 10. They came 4 big biscuits and cinnamon butter and pimento cheese spreed, both worked somehow. The brisket Mac and Cheese was good , the Smokey brisket was chopped up and mixed through out , it was moist but had a great crispy bread crumb topping. The chicken sliders were on another level. Juicy , flavorful, crispy, way bigger than a slider lol. Hit every box. The spicy miso mayo killer. I don't eat seafood, but my boyfriend said he could eat the Shrimp dish everyday. The restaurant was so cute and had the best vibe with the hanging vine plants coming down from the ceiling.
How we ended up at a Southern spot when we should have been
How we ended up at a Southern spot when we should have been eating lobster rolls, or clam chowder, or baked beans, or Boston cream pie, or cannolis - I have no idea - but I'm so glad we wandered into Buttermilk & Bourbon! The New Orleans BBQ shrimp and grits was fantastic, the smoked trout toast was perfection, and the grilled swordfish top notch. If you decide to walk to Harvard from Boston this restaurant is on the popular route on Commonwealth Ave in Back Bay. Commonwealth Ave is one of the coolest streets I've walked down given the way they utilize the path (statues galore).
My first visit to Buttermilk & Bourbon was a Sunday morning.
I wasn't able to secure a reservation, so my cousin & I decided to drop in exactly at 10:30 (when they open) to see if we could waitlist for a table. Luckily enough, they had space and we were able to be seated right when they opened at 10:30am without a reservation! (A true miracle!) I love the interior design and ambiance of the restaurant, with various atmospheres in different areas. I loved the blue-ish dark room we were seated in. The food was really good and the service was fast as well. Chicken and waffles are a favorite of mine and I love how soft and fresh the waffles were. The biscuits and gravy were good as well, but the sausage was a bit overpowering to the rest of the dish. Overall, I had an amazing time! Tip: Highly recommend making a reservation at LEAST two weeks in advance to secure a spot, because it gets busy very quickly!
Loved the tapas style servings.
I only really went for their honey glazed biscuits which are divine by the way! The service was great and they had a separate bar area for seating as well. Definitely check it out.
This is my second time at B&B.
(My previous visit was in Summer 2022.) The place attests to its name, at least to the second part of it: their bourbons are classy and taste like nectar. (I tried their customized Knob Creek, and a friend of mine tried the flight .) It is hard to beat a good bourbon, but the food was even better. The portions are not super huge, so be prepared to order add-ons. My only complaint is that chicken wings were not available with blue cheese, but I can survive that. As for service, Mimi was amazing, and so were the other waiters and waitresses who preferred to remain anonymous. Special thanks to the bartender for his skillful advice. The prices? No, this is not a cheap place. Sorry.

Super fast service and good food! Servers were really attentive. Definitely a highlight of my trip to Boston!
Very Good Find
In town for business and found this neighborhood gem. Atmosphere is unique and very welcoming. Food (baby back ribs) were very good and nicely presented. Highly recommend.
Tasty food!
This is a great restaurant! We came here with a large group last year while in town for a conference and we had great service. They specialize in Southern cooking and all of the dishes are full of flavor and very filling. The portions are reasonable (it is Southern cooking, so you don't want a gigantic portion) and they're mostly serviced in cast iron skillets. We shared a bunch of these, so it felt like a Southern-style tapas, which was very fun; we tried some fried chicken, mac and cheese, honey glazed biscuits, beef short rib, and a few others and they were all very tasty. The drink selection was good and I enjoyed a local IPA while mostly everyone else got cocktails, all of which they loved. It's a nice place overall and one that we would visit again!
Food seasoned to perfection!!!
The food was the best restaurant food I have had in a very long time. I had the baby back ribs, macaroni salad and roasted tomatoes. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Service was excellent. Pricing was very reasonable. Would have given 5 stars but didn’t like the payment system they have for large parties.
Southern Cuisine in New England
Dined here on a recent visit to Boston. Everything was on point, including the food, drinks, and service. The chicken wings were amazing, but the biscuits and brisket Mac & Cheese emerge great too. Glad we made reservations here and experienced this restaurant.
Deliciousness and reasonable.
Wonderful restaurant in a very nice neighborhood. We opted for outdoor seating, but the inside was also very cute. The menu had just recently been changed to the summer menu, and the server implied that the menu was more of a shared plates affair. However, we opted to go with a shared salad and individual plates, both of which were delicious. Hubby got the NEW ORLEANS BBQ SHRIMP (creamy jalapeno grits, holy trinity, andouille sausage), $15. He said it was one of the most delicious and creative shrimp dishes he has ever had. I opted for MUSTARD GLAZED BABY BACK RIBS (macaroni salad, roasted tomato relish) $15. The macaroni salad was Cajun style so there was a bit of a kick to it. I had at least 5 small baby back ribs. One of my ribs was over cooked, but the rest were perfect. The plates were not large servings, but when sharing a salad there was more than enough food for two. It had been a warm humid day, and I chose the restaurant's house-made soft-serve ice cream flavor of the day. The portion was meant for two to share, but my hubby opted for the PEACH COBBLER BREAD PUDDING (bourbon caramel, candied pecans, cinnamon creme fraiche) $12. Overall, we were very glad we took the walk from our hotel (.7 miles, one way) to get to Buttermilk and Bourbon. The only con? My husband wanted a beer and when asked what was available, the server pointed to the Beers menu. Hubby ordered the HIGH NOON LEMON, $8 which was listed on the Beers menu. It turned out to be a canned vodka and soda drink. When we told the server that it wasn't a beer, she acknowledged that it wasn't and that for some reason it was on the Beers menu, but acted like it was my husband's mistake for ordering it. We had to insist that he wanted a beer and not vodka and soda. They did exchange it, but that was a weird experience. The restaurant should revise their menu or train their servers about what is wrongly listed on the menu so that this type of incident does not happen.
A good dinner spot, with a touch of the South
A local pointed us toward the BM&B for an early dinner on a Saturday. First impressions were dubious: the restaurant is located in a brownstone basement; the wire chairs were not very comfortable and the menu was relatively short and seemed like it had a lot of spicy items. But after a little while, helped by a patient waitress, we realized that the menu was intended to be ordered from as a number of small plates (rather like a Spanish-style tapas). After some study, we finally plunged in -- ordering the salmon, the burger sliders, the superb biscuits, fried chicken, deviled egg toast, and one or two other items. The food selections were all very good, and it was nice to be able to sample a number of different items. And the biscuits were superb, did I say that already? It was a pleasant surprise to find delicious southern-style biscuits so far north. Dinner for four including tax and tip came out to about $157 -- expensive, but not out of line for Boston dining prices. Overall, a great find that I'll look forward to visiting again the next time we're in the area. Note: there's no parking lot for the BM&B, so we dropped off two of our party near the corner and the rest of us parked at the nearby 200 Newbury Garage (two blocks away) and walked to the restaurant. Street parking around the area seems to be reserved for residents.

Thank you for the question, if a seller is working on answering your bid, you cannot cancel it until their time is up and the bid is released back to you. The full amount of funds then go back into your AT account. Typically a seller has 48-72 hours to complete the bid.
