Cadence New York Reviews from The Last Year
Came for their mushroom and waffles after recently swapping
Came for their mushroom and waffles after recently swapping to a pescatarian diet. Definitely missed the crisp bite of a good fried chicken over waffles and was excited to see that they had the dish with a twist to it. In terms of taste, I thought dishes were definitely far too salty to the point that I had to peel off the fried exterior of my mushrooms to avoid the salt. Staff were sweet but service was incredibly slow and the ambience was so loud that it was difficult to hear what others on my table were saying. Seats were also uncomfortably close to one another.
So Cadence has been on my list to try for a while now.
I finally have time on my most recent trip to the city to check them out. Super excited on a Friday night to indulge in some delicious food and cocktails, I didn't wear a crazy heel in case parking wasn't nice to us. This is NYC!! Circle the block once come back there's a spot directly in front of the address yes! The universe is on our side. We walk in immediately greeted and seated by a lovely hostess. I take a look at the menu and notice the menu reads Ladybird's hmm did we end up in the wrong place?!? We absolutely did 2 different restaurants with the same address owned by the same restaurant group. We tell our server he comps the bottle of sparkling water we ordered and has someone walk us over to Cadence. Impressive!! He has a conversation with the staff at Cadence, they seat us immediately present menus and let us the kitchen will be closing in a few take a look at the menu and order. No worries I'm starved! We order the smoked grits (meh), the southern fried lasagna (so yummy), jerk mac and cheese (decent), maple buttermilk cornbread (no bueno, way too mushy), and the potato salad (not bad but not great) pickles weren't evenly distributed throughout the dish. We also had cocktails both were very good our waiter recommended a drink for me as they were out of what I would have liked to order. Each dish came out as they were ordered that's fine we were sharing and yes I was hungry so keep them rolling in. By the time our final dish arrived the cornbread another server comes over and mentions they'll be closing soon to let them know if we need anything boxed. We didn't need anything boxed just enough time to finish what we ordered. Next we're greeted by our original server to let us know the same thing. Um guys we're just trying to finish dinner you all are welcome to take any empty dishes on the table. We've wrapped up dinner settled the check now finishing our cocktails with a bit of conversation. At this point someone from the kitchen comes to our table to say we need to leave within 10 mins they need to start closing. I'm a bit irritated since we no longer have any dishes on the table only glasses and the bartender is still cleaning the bar. I've been at restaurants in the past during closing I am normally greeted to be advised the restaurant will be closing shortly we are welcome to finish our meal just be aware they may begin cleaning. Cadence basically told us we need to leave, such a turn off for a chic restaurant. Literally no food pics as we were diving in as the food arrived.
One of the best vegan restaurants I've been to! Tasty
One of the best vegan restaurants I've been to! Tasty cuisine, timely service, with a nice ambience. The food comes out as soon as it's ready. I liked this particularly because our food was fresh and hot and we were able to sample everything without being overwhelmed. We sat at the bar. (The only annoyance I had was my chair was a little wobbly.) I love the fact that the bartender was very engaging and the drinks were consistent. (Love the Franklin Green) I would 100% dine here again. Oh, I would say make a reservation because they were pretty busy.
The food far exceeded my expectations.
I'm newly plant based and a true southern women new to New York. Cadence was a suggestion from a coworker and I must say she was spot on with this spot. I came with a friend who isn't vegan and we both literally spoke with our eyes because words didn't give the fried lasagna justice. As the designated Macaroni and cheese baker in my Very southern, very Black, very judgy soul food snob of a family, baby Chefs kiss to what the chef was able to curate as a vegan Mac and cheese it was creamy, flavorful and just an overall comforting dish that we truly should e ordered two of. The palm cakes were good as well as were the drinks. This place is small but mighty, packed with good vibes and even better flavor profiles
So phreaking good! I wanted to go to Cadence for
So phreaking good! I wanted to go to Cadence for Valentine's Day, but reservations were booked up by the time I went to make one. Lucky me, My bf surprised me with dinner at Cadence for my birthday a couple weeks later! From the cool, comfy vibe to the dddddelicious food, I left wanting nothing! On the way out we noticed that there was a sister restaurant right next door. Will have to try that next time. I got the mushroom waffle- lovedddd, my bf got the mushroom burger-loveddd as well. We also shared the must-have arancini, and the cornbread. Adorable ambiance and staff. Definitely recommend.
I've dined at Cadence twice in the past two weeks.
My first experience was on a weeknight and I would rate it 5 stars. My second experience was on a Saturday evening and I'd rate it 3 stars. I love the concept of this restaurant! As someone on a dairy and soy free diet, it's amazing to visit a restaurant and be able to eat everything on the menu. Ordered: Sweet Emma ($18)- this cocktail was perfect in my view. If you like fruity and sweet drinks, you'll enjoy this! The cola extract adds something a little different in a positive way. It was great both times I ordered it. Mahalia's Gospel ($18)- this cocktail was interesting! It had passion fruit and different wines/liquors. It was strong! Jambalaya Arancini ($16)- these had great flavor! They were creamy in texture on the inside and the outside was crispy. They had a tasty creamy aioli and some micro greens. My first time dining they arrived piping hot. The second time they were barely warm. When they are hot, they are phenomenal! Collard Green Wraps ($22)- these were tasty! Filled with succotash. The broth was too salty in my opinion. Also the broth was hard to share as I was dining with a friend. Buffalo Oyster Mushroom sandwich ($26)- this sandwich was the star of the show! Wow! Just wow. I had it with the sweet barbecue sauce. My first time dining the sandwich arrived hot and it was phenomenal. The mushroom was crispy yet the inside was tender. It had a creamy ranch and perfectly ripe avocado on a pretzel bun. I dreamed about this sandwich, so I came back! My second experience was quite disappointing. My sandwich wasn't hot and was not nearly as good as it was the week before. After my two dining experiences my views on Cadence are mixed. I understand it's challenging to manage a completely packed restaurant and unfortunately this impacted my experience on Saturday night. This was an expensive night out for a special occasion and it missed the mark. I'm not sure if I'll return but if I do, I'll update my review.
Food was delicious ,very quaint place will definitely be
Food was delicious ,very quaint place will definitely be back Next time I'll do the wine flight
I came here on a Tuesday for Galentine's Day at 6:30 PM.
The place was fairly empty. By the time I left at around 7:30 PM/ 8 PM the place was completely full. I was 10 minutes late and I was able to communicate that through text and get a response. my friend and I ordered wine, cornbread, she ordered the mushrooms with waffles and I ordered the buffalo oyster mushroom sandwich on a pretzel bun with a side of cut pickles. Both the cornbread and the sandwich were very delicious and filling. I wish that the sandwich came with a side salad just to balance out the sandwich and especially for the price it is very expensive for what it is. A bit more vegetables and sauce in the sandwich would've been great. The fried oysters were huge. The cornbread was great. It had butter and a side of mango jam. I also had a glass of orange wine. It arrived after the food arrived. I don't know if it was a mistake or not regardless, it seemed like a kind gesture that I was not charged for the glass. It also took a while to get our order in, I don't recall taking that long to get our food. However, there was only one server and one bartender it would be a little nicer if there was one another server. I do remember it also took a while for them to take our credit cards for payment. the place is very pretty and we sat in a corner booth however, there were crumbs all over the seat. I love trying vegetarian food and supporting female black owned business, but I would highly suggest adjusting the service to be a bit more prompt.
I had the jambalaya arancini and Southern fried lasagna.
Both dishes were solid. I liked the crispy texture on both. The jambalaya was probably my favorite - the rice on the inside was comforting and flavorful, and the aioli on top was a great accompaniment. The lasagna was very rich and savory, but had a bit of a bitter note that left me with more of a mixed impression. I ended up waiting quite a while for the lasagna to come out as well. For a total cost of over $60 after tax and tip, I'm not sure the experience was worth it overall.

Cute place with modern mid-century details, drinks were very good, food was yummy. Although would have appreciated slightly bigger portions for the prices. We had the arincinis, salad, and buffalo bbq oyster burger, which was very well seasoned and delicious. We ended on a sweet note with the cobbler, which was yummy as well. Service was wonderful, we appreciated the periodic check ins and suggestions!
Voco needs to improve their guest experience.
There are some really good things about Voco β the Cadence in Niagara Falls NY. It is a small, recently remade hotel, a short walk from Niagara Falls on the NY side. The rooms newly remade and well furnished. The hotel also seemed to make an effort to be environmentally responsible β no water in plastic bottles, rather a really impressive water filter/dispenser on each floor and reusable bottles in each room. However, there were a number of surprises that might make guests a little grumpy. β’ Service in the breakfast restaurant was appalling. It took for ever for our breakfast to come and when it did it was cold (had it just been sitting ready to go in the kitchen?). The waitress was utterly inattentive, and when you were able to get her attention she was slow and unenthusiastic in her response. And it was not that she was run off her feet β there was just a father and son at another table. Maybe it was the earbud in her ear and her mind was wandering? Serving coffee, she brought the coffee to you in a full cup, gripping the lip of the cup in her hand (a little off-putting). And even though we had paid for our breakfasts in advance included in the room rate, she insisted we would have to pay extra if we wanted a second cup. β’ The rooms had a coffee maker and what looked like very nice Illy coffee. However, there was no milk/cream or even coffee whitener provided, nothing in the small fridge either. β’ Despite all the brand new fixtures in the bathroom, the toilet seat was fixed askew so that when you sat on it you found yourself also sitting on the bare porcelain of the bowl. β’ And finally, the check-in. There was an awful long wait as the one receptionist and the manager sorted out some complication with the guest ahead of us. After she had made her contribution to solving this problem, it would have been nice if the manager had opened a second station on the reception to serve the considerable line that had grown while they had struggled with the initial guest check-in. And when I did finally get to the checkin counter, the receptionist was very sceptical that our reservation had been with breakfast included β even though it was clearly stated in the reservation confirmation email from IHG. The receptionist did have a cheery manner, but after the long wait and the challenge on the breakfast inclusion, it was difficult to reciprocate her cheeriness.
Aesthetically pleasing.
Upon walking into the hotel I was very impressed; modern, sleek, & unique are all words I would use to describe the atmosphere. At check in youβre greeted by a friendly face and a beer voucher for the bar attached to the hotel. The room is not as large as the photos make it seem but the bed was extremely comfortable & the jet tub was amazing. I do suggest you bring your own body wash, shampoo, conditioner, & even toilet paper when staying here because what they provide you with is subpar. The barn door on the bathroom is a bit off putting if you like having privacy when using the loo. The location is ideal because itβs within walking distance to a couple bars (right across the street), restaurants (9 min walk), the falls (10 min walk), & the casino (5 min walk). We did speak with some locals and it does seem itβs one road over from an unsafe part of town so be aware of your surroundings when walking around. We went down to SΔvΔ to use our beer vouchers, while we sat at the bar the bartender was unprofessional when addressing a Doordasher making for an awkward situation for the 5 customers that were seated. But nonetheless we enjoyed sipping our free flight of beers and had warm soft pretzels with beer cheese *Yum* before heading over to the casino. Overall it was a good stay for the very reasonable price we paid.
Hampton in would be just as good and less expensive. Plus they have CLOSETS
Just not good and horrible value. Restaurant closes at 12, reopens at 5. No food on the premises during that break, no room service. No closets. They have pegs on which youβre supposed to hang garments; however, no hangers or notches in pegs. The exposed clothing makes the room always look cluttered and messy. Plus the cloths constantly fall off the pegs. There is a huge eyesore of a tub in the so-called king suite. That area could be better purposed for seating. Rip out the tub! It also looks dated. The bedspread is dingy. They donβt have coffee creamer in room; you have to request. No mirrors in the bedroom. No shelf in the shower to hold toiletries, soap. The room is all gray. No bottled water. Instead there is a refillable bottle, which might be environmentally sustainable, and I get that, but it didnβt look clean. I booked the room a month ago. Upon check in I asked for a higher floor, and they said they were sold out. Donβt stay in room 201. Itβs one flight above the restaurant, which can be loud if a party is going one
Would not choose again
Most important is that they had exchange students while I was there, the one I talked to was from Lithuania, she may not have been the thief, but someone from VOCO The Cadence stole my cc info & sold it to another in Bulgaria (Bulgaria & time of fraud charges confirmed). As for the room, there was no closet nor anyway to hang clothes, this is a real bummer if you do any of the "wet" activities to see Niagara Falls, you won't be able to hang anything up to dry. The "mini store" at the hotel was dorely lacking for most things any traveler would want (you'll need to walk about .25 miles to 7-Eleven to get any cokes/beers, insect repellent, aspirin, etc, that you want for the room). As with most restaurants & pubs in the area, it's all open doors/open windows = A LOT of gnats, fruit flies, flies & bees. If you happen to be a preferred member of IHG, they will give you a tiny bag of stale popcorn mixed with a few shreds of butterscotch candy.
Convenient & Unique
We stayed on a visit to see Niagara Falls. Itβs so close to American Falls, the visitorβs center and Maid of the Mist. We walked to the falls our first night to watch fireworks. Their outdoor patio is so inviting, and we enjoyed a live jazz combo playing. The room was lovely. Recommend this place!
For the price look elsewhere
We arrived at 350pm (official check in at 4) and asked if our two rooms were ready. The front desk person went to check and was gone for an easy ten mins, while we were waiting at the reception area with our kids. They came back and told us one room was ready and one was not, it was now 4pm so we shouldβve been able to check in. We asked for free breakfast since the room wasnβt ready and the front desk person said since itβs just barely after 4pm (room wasnβt ready though) they wonβt do that. My parents checked into their room and I parked the car with the kids. When we came back they found a different room for us. Even without that, for the price, I think you can find a better hotel. It is clean but the bathroom has a barn door on it that doesnβt block sounds especially the loud toilet flushes and also the door doesnβt block light since it has frosted glass on the door. So if you have kids and want them to sleep this isnβt the room for you. If this place was in the mid $100βs per night then it would be fine, but definitely not worth it for mid $200βs.
Wonderful Place
A very good place to stay while in the Niagara Falls. Everything is just walking distance from here. Good clean and spacious rooms. They have a restaurant in their premises which is an added advantage. Lots of other Indian food options, again just walking distance from here.

Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been βmatchedβ with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
Payouts
Anyone know how increase payout transfer to bank as I can only send $50 a day and they charge $5 for every transaction. There must be a way. Iβve contacted support two days ago and not a reply.
