Pure and simply this establishment is racist.
They claimed that we needed a reservation. I asked the 3 non colored party behind us if they had a reservation and they said no. So when we turned around to leave we stood there waiting to see if they would deny that white party of three, who were there without without a reservation. They were seated very quickly. My friend decided to let the manager know that we knew what was going on here and that it isn't right. I tried to leave a review on google but it won't allow me to type certain words, like, racist. If you care at all about equality, you shouldn't eat here. I'm a flight attendant on a layover, just trying to share a meal with some colleagues. I would never recommend anyone to come here.

Figured we'd go fancy although we weren't dressed for it. Now that I think about it, it's probably why we didn't get good customer service (Ugh!)This is a reservation only. The ambiance is cool and we were seated in their basement area. There were lots of servers and only three other tables with guests when we arrived. Noticed they don't really make eye contact and pacing back and forth. We had to wait to be given the menu. Another wait to be given bread. More wait for the balsamic vinaigrette/olive oil to arrive. Oh, not to mention...a few more minutes to get our plates so we can actually enjoy the bread. That was a 3.5 hours of dinner! I mean, come on!!!

I visited Cantina Piemontese for a quick lunch while in Milano, just under a 10-minute walk away from Duomo, the restaurant is located on Via Laghetto and looks rather nice, with an authentic feel in both the interior and exterior. The cuisine offered isn't typical Italian, it is Piemontese cuisine, so some of the varieties and sauces of pasta may not be what you'd find in many other spots in the city, I ended up opting for the Bigoli Cacio e Pepe, made gluten-free.I found the sauce to be a little tasteless and bland, even with added cheese sprinkled on top, on the other hand, the gluten-free pasta was fantastic, it tasted fresh and high-quality, if it would have come with a better sauce, it would have been perfect! My gluten-eating guest commented the same, she liked the pasta, but the sauce not so much...Service wasn't overly attentive but the staff were friendly enough and the food came out at a reasonable pace.I would say this price is pricey and the food was not worth the prices paid, but this is something I found to be all too common in central Milano, especially venues close to Duomo.3* - Unlikely to visit again but certainly not the worst option in the world to grab a quick lunch.
Be the first to ReplyI am appalled at some of the reviews here.
.. the food in this restaurant is pretty good and the wine list is great. Service is nice and price is in line with other restaurants of the same type in Milan center. The only thing I was a bit disappointed with is the limited number of "Piemontese" dishes actually in the menu.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a horrible dining experience! After traveling all
What a horrible dining experience! After traveling all over Italy and having nothing but wonderful food experiences, we were excited to spend our last night dining at this restaurant in Milan. The restaurant looked nice and we were expecting to love the food. Unfortunately, we were greatly disappointed. The food here is visually boring and tastes as exciting as school cafeteria food- the kind of food that makes you wonder what you can possibly add to it to make it taste better. I had the octopus and onion appetizer (Polipo in Saor). The colors of the octopus and onion melded into an unexciting "blah" that mirrored the taste. It was not awful, but it was not exciting either. My husband ordered the mushroom appetizer because it featured a mushroom that he particularly likes (ovulo mushroom). Unfortunately, it was literally a pile of sliced raw mushrooms with Parmesan cheese shaved on top- so disappointing, nothing to enhance the taste and a big waste of a wonderful mushroom. My dish was a fish and potato specialty- the presentation resembled something that you would feed a cat as it was pieces of white fish tossed with boiled potatoes. It was basically overpriced cafeteria food (I would have loved to add something...ANYTHING to liven up the dish). So why am I only giving them one star when this review so far may warrant at least two? Because my husband, who was born and raised in Italy (so he knows his pasta), ordered a simple pasta dish (cacio e pepe)and his pasta was not fully cooked. It was hard (not al dente- but almost crunchy-hard). How does a high-end restaurant in Italy not know how to cook pasta? As we walked back to our hotel, very disappointed in our meal, we stopped to buy a pizza for our teen sons who opted to stay in their room and lamented the fact that we did not choose to just eat a pizza with them because that would have been a much better meal.
Be the first to ReplyAtmosphere was ok.
We sat outside for dinner. But the lady serving us had a problem because we were of a different ethnicity. We travel a lot and We've grown accustomed to people of this kind. We waited for the menu 10 mins, 20 mins to order and another 20 mins and counting for the cheque. The food is not that great. We had beef steak and the veal. I don't recommend the place.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best meals in a long time.
The waiter was extremely helpful and translated the menu to us. The food is exquisite, and the deserts divine. Highly recommended restaurant for sure !
