Sooo salty!!!! The ambiance was good so I'd probably go back but the food was pretty meh. And was incredibly salty. We had the arugula salad with salmon, yuca ceviche and lemon pasta and were not impressed. Also a very long wait for our table. Drinks were strong, spicy margarita was meh but beet drink was great!

Although I dressed up decently I felt a little underdressed lol The food is good but a little on the pricey side of course but you pay for the service, ambiance and experience that comes with it! Definitely worth posting on IG. I believe it's valet only.
Be the first to ReplyStaff is great.
Walls are very thin. Could not sleep due to snores from the adjacent room reverberating through ours, then in the morning heard every detail of an hour long phone conversation about their friend's dog

Overall vibes are nice - like you're in a resort!Below is what we ordered:- Burrata - Himachi- Lemon Pasta- Fries- Salmon- Chicken Sandwich- Trout Sandwich- Harvest Grain bowl w/ shrimpEverything was delicious, personally loved my grain bowl! Salmon was hit or miss with it being a bit slightly salty and needing a little more of something. We got the Lemon Pasta to share - alone it felt like it'd be too rich.

On the plus side, the hotel is lovely, the hotel staff friendly, but the noise! We stayed on the ground level, and between the loud elevator music and other sounds outside our door in the courtyard, and the loud clomping from the room upstairs, our stay was far from relaxing. The guy at the front desk told us the music would end at 10, but when it was still blaring at 10:30, we were told the music was lowered at 10 (indiscernible), but goes off at 11. It did, but that didn't stop the loud party just outside our door from partying. The next morning we had breakfast there. The wait staff were rude (refused to look our way when we tried to ask for something), our first coffee served at first room temperature and was replaced by coffee that was bitter. We wondered if the first cup was microwaved (and burnt) and then re-served to us.We complained as we checked out, and to their credit they comped us half our room rate. Still, I wouldn't have stayed there even if it was free.
Be the first to ReplyFood was great, nothing mind blowing.
We thought we'd be sitting in the maiming doing area, but sadly they sat us up front to side... super windy with the tarp above us making all kinds of noise and ripping. We only saw the entrance and that was nice but the area we ate was not nice at all. Staff was friendly and amazing service! I personally thought it was over priced for what we experience and ate. I ordered the salmon with lentils, wife ordered short bbq ribs... but they brought her pasta? It was delicious, my daughter ordered steak..it was okay.
Be the first to ReplyI'm only reviewing the Bar.
.. Disastrous customer service! Bartenders are horrible! I waited more than 30 minutes at the bar, the guy bartender was only taking orders from ladies. He was super slow and not capable of handling orders on a Saturday night Do not waste your time and money at Cara Hotel's Bar.

Came here for lunch and first impression was that it is a very charming restaurant. The hostess was very sweet and sat me down next to the pool. Alongside the tables are the hotel guest rooms which I wonder if it can get noisy for the guest who are staying there. My friend and I ordered a few appetizers which included the little gem salad and shrimp ceviche then ended up with the steak frites with fries. Everything tasted really fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the shrimp ceviche because it comes with mangos and crispy chips. The salad was a nice summer salad with crispy apples and dates in a balsamic dressing. The steak frites was cooked perfectly at medium rare and had a fresh chimichurri sauce placed on top. I love fries and am such a critic when it comes to it so these could have been better. They were basic thick fries that were a little stale tasting to me. That is probably my only negative feedback about this place. I love how quant and quiet this place was. Very Instagram worthy for sure. Parking is a little tough because it is in the middle of downtown LA but I ended up getting my car valeted which was about $12. Cute restaurant and maybe if I was in town again I would give it another try.

Always a vibe and Diana, our server, was attentive and kind and overall a great human being lol! I got a cheeseburger that scratched my itch and my brother got a trout sandwich. I LOVE thick cheddar they put on my burger but I can't really understand the house made ketchup, I don't like it. Other than that, the experience was cool and the service was dope.
Be the first to ReplyPossibly most goated restaurant of all time.
Couldn't recommend enough. If you asked me on a scale of rad to mad sick with it, it would definitely be a 12/10.
Be the first to ReplyLONG LOVE NOTE TO THE CARA HOTEL: Due to an apartment
LONG LOVE NOTE TO THE CARA HOTEL: Due to an apartment flood, I've been at the Cara Hotel (5) days....and from the moment I checked in everyone has treated me like family. Los Feliz and Hollywood adjacent, it is the perfect place to stay. Book your room with the kind, cool and considerate concierge team of Alex, Lucas, Alex and Connor, and Caio will cheerfully carry your bags up the wide, wooden stairs. Know your car is safe in the hands of Jose and the valet guys; grab a cocktail from Shane at the bar; and maybe catch a music chat with owner Pat. I chose the Cara because it was close to my home where at 2:00 am my ceiling collapsed and my apartment flooded. Prior to checking in, I had been up for 37 hours with no sleep: working with Fire Station 35 to shut off the water and my electricity; taking photos and videos of water damage; making lists of my losses; calling insurance and apartment management; working with the clean up crew to tearfully throw out half of my furniture; packing what I could save in large plastic boxes. THEN I CALLED THE CARA HOTEL....I explained my ordeal and the two Alex's booked me a lovely, quiet room within my insurance reimbursement budget, helped me order a gourmet dinner and a cocktail and carried my bags to my room. They even brought me hot tea before bedtime. I took a steamy respite in a gorgeous walk-in shower with double jet sprinklers and peppermint lavender gel/shampoo/conditioner. I dried myself in a thirsty bath sheet towel and then curled up on the bed in a fluffy terrycloth robe. High thread count designer sheets and (4) large pillows have been a cozy place to rest and reset. One business morning of tea and toast in the bar with my computer, another day brunch in the garden with my favorite guy. Also, bank, grocery store, restaurants, boutiques all within walking distance. After losing half of what I own to a flood this week, Cara Hotel has been my shelter in the storm.
