Complete waste of TONS of money!!!
What a major disappointment. Three friends and I had been anticipating this fun girls trip to a spa and beach for over a month. From the time we got there to the time we checked out, every person we interested with at the front desk of the hotel lobby and the front desk of the spa ranged from incompetent to purposefully rude. The exceptions are the lovely women who work in the spa area and the women who provide the spa services as well as the women who clean the rooms. Our experiences included being overcharged for treatments, being charged for treatments we did not receive, being treated with disdain and disrespect when asked to rectify the overcharges, having a construction worker walk into a treatment room during a facial, being jarred awake during a $250 treatment by drilling and hammering, being told the wrong times for treatments, the wrong treatments that were booked, needing to explore 5 floors to find a working ice machine, and experiencing several of the features of the hydrotherapy room not in service at various times during our five day stay. My favorite was arguing over a $36 charge for a service we did not receive. We had to escalate it three times to two managers. We truly did not receive the service but honestly the principle of not refunding $36 out of close to $8,000 is so petty. The amount of money we spent on this vacation compared to the experience we had actually makes me a little physically ill. We knew we were indulging a lot. And we would pay for it. Except it wasn’t luxurious and we didn’t feel special, welcome or respected from start to finish. Please save your money or use it someplace that will respect you.
Be the first to ReplyThe Carillon Spa has no rival. The service exceeds expectations. The treatment options endless. You become new!
There is no spa like the Carillon Spa. The service is exceptional. The treatment options beyond what you could ever imagine. They are truly committed to your complete mind, body and soul, Rejuvenation and wellness. I love the fact that they are not just focused on topical treatments, but they really want you to genuinely feel and look great from the inside out. I am literally addicted to that place. I won’t go anywhere else. They are so consistent as well. Every time I have ever gone there it’s been just as magical as the first time. This is kind of how you can tell if a place is fully committed. Their consistency is unwavering. They seem to also always be looking for new and innovative ways to help their clients feel and look even better. They always seem to be on the cutting edge of the latest treatments for every single situation or condition you could possibly have from fatigue and anxiety to muscle soreness and migraines. The spa at the Carillon is the only place where I can genuinely say I am guaranteed to feel new and whole again.
Be the first to ReplyRelaxing stay at the Carillon
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the Carillon and had a very good and relaxing visit. While others have correctly pointed out that it is not truly a 5 star property, I think it does live up to at least 4 stars in terms of quality of the rooms, the amenities and overall atmosphere. If you are passionate about health and wellness it is a great place to stay and there are many more pros than cons. It is in a great location in a quieter section of North Miami Beach and has a Publix across the street which is very convenient. When I checked in, I came in first thing in the morning and I was extremely happy that the hotel was able to accommodate my early check in request. That was a huge plus. I did not get an upgrade however despite booking with AMEX Fine Hotels and Resorts. It would have been a nice gesture for the front desk person to offer a complimentary breakfast upon arrival as I was waiting for my room to be ready and since no upgrade was offered and I had a complimentary breakfast offer throughout my stay. However this was flatly and somewhat rudely denied. The hotel will offer you a complimentary spa treatment as a makeup for the lack of upgrade but the items offered are more like sample treatments and are not really of any significant value. Pros: 1. My room was very nice. It had a partial ocean view (which they call ocean view as opposed to ocean front which faces the ocean directly). I would highly recommend getting a room with a balcony as some rooms do not have windows that open. Rooms have kitchenette and are very much like a luxury apartment. The rooms are very quiet and there is very little noise from other rooms or hallways. 2. Very nicely appointed gym which is open 24 hrs. It would be nice to have more variety in terms of kettlebells, and there isn't really a bench press to speak of, but it has plenty of equipment that gets the job done and was never that crowded. 3. I had a great massage at the spa and enjoyed the sauna daily. They also have a great rooftop pool for relaxing and swimming laps. They do not have a cold plunge in the spa and should definitely consider adding one. Sauna could be hotter. 4. Tons of great fitness classes daily to choose from. 5. Very easy to get a beach chair and umbrella and the beach is nice. Beach staff are pleasant and helpful and there is not a long wait to get help to direct you to a chair. More effort could be made to ensure the beach area is kept clean however and in order to be a truly high end resort, I would suggest an upgrade to loungers with cushions which are way more comfortable than the current ones. 6. Hotel property is well maintained and has a very relaxing, quiet, and stress free atmosphere. Clientele are generally upscale couples and families. If you are looking for the trendy vibe similar to the W or the Edition in South Beach, this is not the hotel for you. 7. Staff are generally helpful and courteous. Maids did a great job both during the day and at turn-down service in the evening. Cons: The Strand Restaurant was by far the worst part of the hotel. Service is agonizingly slow, and having to be made to wait for a table when the restaurant was half empty was very frustrating. Wait staff are inattentive and often disappear for long periods of time, and food at breakfast was average at best. Seating outdoors was offered on some days and others not. Tables by the window offer a view out towards the beach but are not shaded so when they seat you there it gets very hot and you are blinded by the sun. In summary, it is the little things that the Carillon can improve upon to make it a 10/10 experience but overall, I had an excellent stay and would definitely consider a return.
Be the first to ReplyWellness + Muscle Recovery
I am a professional athlete who had the opportunity to take advantage of the world class and innovative tools the resort provides. I'm always looking for the best ways for muscle recovery and by using the Wellness facilities I can have a better recovery, less soreness and better sleep! The staff was very welcoming and the facilities are top class. I felt very relaxed and at ease at all times, would recommend!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic muscle recovery and relaxation!
I’m a professional tennis player traveling the world week in and week out. I am constantly looking to keep my body healthy and ready to compete at the highest level. I found Carillon Miami Wellness Resort the perfect place to do so. I was not only able to relax and come to peace, but their groundbreaking “touchless circuit” helped my muscle recovery tremendously. By completing a series of top notch treatments I felt less sore and well energized after a tough week of competition. I would 100% revisit the Carillon on my next visit to Miami and recommend these treatments to everyone (athletes and non-athletes) for better muscle recovery and a sense of revitalization! All staff members are super friendly and you will find the beautiful accommodation a real treat.
Be the first to ReplyYou owe it yourself to definitely try their touchless spa treatments and other amenities
Absolutely phenomenal property, views from everywhere, and the most impressive touchless spa experiences in their spectacular spa. It’s essential to come try these state of the art and amazing touchless treatments. They also have a phenomenal restaurant in the lobby. Best touchless treatment was at least equivalent to even better than prior 80-90 minute massages elsewhere but more effective in 25 minutes. I wish I could move to Miami to become a member here as it was that amazing! Love Carillon and we will be back!
Be the first to ReplyPretty disappointing stay
If a picture is worth a thousand words, here's eight thousand. The hotel is tired and in desperate need of revamp. The beds are supposedly adjustable, but they're essentially just air mattresses that will kill your back. Low quality linens and mattress protectors will make your sweatiest night's sleep in a long time! Only thing worse than the overall condition was the service-- waiting 30+ mins for breakfast and then being rushed to order, or waiting almost an hour for your valet (only parking option) can really sour the mood on a relaxing vacation. This resort did more harm than good for our week away from it all.
Be the first to ReplyCarillon Spa -ReLounge Chair unique experience
My son and I recently had an extraordinary spa experience where we were introduced to an innovative massage therapy on the ReLounge bed. This unique treatment provided us with amazing results. As a university student majoring in music, my son, who plays the cello, often experiences intense strain on his back due to his posture while playing. However, after the session, he left feeling revitalized and completely relaxed. My own experience was equally transformative. I left the spa feeling deeply relaxed and rejuvenated. Sonia, the Spa Manager, played a pivotal role in ensuring our satisfaction. Her expertise and attentiveness made our spa visit truly exceptional. Mission accomplished indeed!
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and NOT five-star.
This is NOT a five-star hotel. It does not come close. I came here in large part because I wanted to avoid the throngs in South Beach while in Miami with my family, and because this was an AmEx Fine Hotels and Resorts property. I feel ripped off. I paid more than $700/night for what is barely a three-star hotel. Seldom got housekeeping. Ice machine on our floor was broken and never fixed. Room was in poor shape, with bathroom doors that did not work. Lobby is dated. Everything is insanely overpriced. And the staff seem deeply unhappy and totally overwhelmed. My rate came with breakfast, but they never really seemed to be able to seat us—lots of empty tables but a very lengthy wait. (They said 10 minutes, it took 30.) It’s as though the hotel owners are trying to save money on services while still claiming to be a five-star property. Never again.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely not 5 star…
While this hotel may have 5 stars, I don’t see it. The property seems very worn; I thought I read it had been recently updated, but that does not seem in evidence. The pool area, in particular, is rather dreary and small. There are not enough chairs for everyone; and though I was assured by the pool staff, they would find me when chairs were available, I had to fend for myself. Even though I asked several times. The pool is quite small. There is a bar & the bartender was very polite and on-the-ball. However, I have to take issue with an 18% auto-gratuity on the very over-priced drinks & food ($23 for hummus, pita & a few veggies?). Typically, bar tips are lower than full table service. I don’t object to an auto-grat, but 18% for a couple of pool cocktails & snack food seems high (especially since they were overpriced items already). Our room was fine, it’s nice having the kitchen. But, again not a 5 star room. The closet was oddly small for a room for 4 people. The spa, which was the big draw for me, was fine. I had an excellent deep tissue massage by Eileen (she gets 5 stars). The thermal areas, which are available for any guest are nice—steam, sauna, spa pool, igloo & rain shower. And, the heated loungers are heaven. The staff seems overwhelmed; they overbooked the infrared sauna so I had to come back (but, they comped the treatment, which was very nice). Once I did get to do the infrared sauna, a spa staffer was supposed to come get me when it was done, but she never did. I saw the timer was at zero, so I let myself out and went back to the ladies spa room. I wouldn’t say the spa is beautiful—more utilitarian. The decor feels kind of random, without a unifying look. Admittedly, that doesn’t really matter, the treatments are why you go, but at a place that bills itself as the largest spa on the Eastern seaboard, they might have chosen a better interior designer. Overall, I don’t think I would return to the Carillon. If I was in Miami, I would visit the spa, but take a pass on the hotel.
Be the first to ReplyThe best fitness instructor - Esther Armendaiz
I am giving this review because I adore this wellness resort and they are best in class to provide fitness instructors. I have taken multiple classes from Esther Armendaiz multiple times. She is an expert at Pilates in every aspect and version of classes (Reformer/Chair/Mat, etc.) Esther helps everyone to ensure the correct position and form and has such energy and passion. You know she LOVES what she does and it shows and you feel so a part of her fitness family while you stay at the resort!! I highly recommend you take one of Esther's classes!

Staying at Carillon is always something I highly look forward to. The staff are really unmatched in their kindness and hospitality and make for an excellent stay. The spa is the highlight with so many innovative ways to relax and they take such good care of you.
Be the first to ReplySome wonderful people at the Carillon Hotel
I took my dog to the hotel for a five day break from NYC. We had been there two times before and always have a very good time even though this time, the room had many problems. But a few people at the hotel did their best to help fix the issues. I want to shout a big thank you Tayfun at reception and Shenetka. They were very helpful and very kind and are an asset to the hotel. Also, a big thank you to the woman who cleaned my room every day- Violet, who was so nice, so thorough, such a hard worker and a lovely person. She is also a huge asset the the hotel. We will be back hopefully next year.
Be the first to ReplyCarillon Family Getaway
The Carillon Wellness Resort is perfect for a family getaway. It's so convenient to have your choice of pools or beach, both right there. You can order delicious food and drinks poolside and soak up the sun. The expansive fitness area, with a ton of classes, and the spa are also enjoyable for everyone. Spa lounges feature a host of saunas, steam rooms and water experiences, and the property has a huge selection of new touchless therapies using the latest technology, as well as traditional massages, facials and body treatments. Fun for all!
Be the first to ReplyThe Best on the Beach
Exercise classes, spa treatments, wonderful gym. perfect beach, multiple pools, across the street from Publix and lots restaurants, this place is paradise. I am going back in 2024, that's for sure. The Carillon successfully caters to a very demanding clientele.
Be the first to ReplyThe wellness place on Miami Beach
Carillon Miami Wellness Resort stands apart on Miami Beach for its unique wellness center.. It is less of a resort than a building of quality. However If you're looking to work out and get in shape this is the perfect place with a fantastic location
Be the first to ReplyCarillon is three to four stars
The hotel itself is a little warn- even the once beautiful spa could use some work. The service people for the most part were wonderful- especially the bellhop Chris! There was one man who checked us in,that was rude- it seems we were interrupting his chat with his friend.
Be the first to ReplyBest concierge
Excellent stay thanks to best concierge Tayfun and Munire from the frontdesk, they were very friendly and accomodating and treated us as family. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable and memorable.
Be the first to ReplyNice spot for a 3-4 day visit
Nice Hotel-Beach and rooftop pool were very nice. Spa is excellent-2 saunas, igloo room, steam room and whirlpool-daughter had a great facial. We went to local restaurants recommended by the hotel and they were all good. This is a sleepy area-removed from South Beach. If you want a nice apartment style hotel with a great beach/pool/spa in a low key area this place is for you. We enjoyed it very much.
Be the first to ReplySpa Experience is Incredible - Hotel is Okay
Our experience started off delightful and went downhill from there unfortunately. Check in was quick and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall impression of the hotel was slightly surprising because the lobby is a little lackluster and dated, but there are nice amenities like a cute cafe, the spa of course, pools and beach front areas. It is also nice to have an adults only pool available by the spa if you'd like some quiet time. We were pleased with our room but quickly realized the bedroom circuit board was glitchy and none of the outlets or lights in the bedroom worked. The toilet in the bathroom was also not working and the door didn't close. We contacted the front desk who said they would fix everything so went out to lunch and for a long walk and came back... and things were still not working. We contacted the front desk again who didn't seem to understand the issue and said it had already been fixed (which it was not). We flagged again that we had dinner very soon and we'd prefer to just move rooms. We were promised that someone would come up and address the issue. Maintenance came up and reset the circuit breaker and then left. Then we realized every time we plugged anything all of the outlets in the bedroom would go out and it still seemed like the front desk didn't understand the extent of the issue (or how DANGEROUS IT IS!?). Talking sparks flying when you plug in the iron and all the lights going out. They said they would send someone up to move us and after waiting an hour we just went down to the front desk and grabbed keys for the new rooms ourselves. They continually acted like we were a nuisance and asking for something unreasonable when we made it clear we didn't care where our new room was or what it was or if it was facing an alley - we just wanted to be able to plug things in without the lights going out. It was all incredibly incredibly frustrating. The restaurant experience inside the hotel was also so disappointing. I was really excited to have food at a restaurant that is all part of a wellness and spa experience, but it was SO lackluster. Totally overpriced for absolutely mediocre food and it felt like nothing was seasoned. I was dousing everything in salt and pepper and hot sauce. My breakfast was possibly the saddest breakfast I've eaten of all the breakfasts I'd had - and I will say this was absolutely our mistake for not reading the reviews and feedback about the restaurant. I will say the food available at the pool and beach was much much more delightful with solid snacks items that actually felt fresh and things seemed delivered quickly. The cafe was a delightful amenity that also had ready to go snacks and drinks as well as smoothies, juices, coffee and non coffee drinks as well as sandwiches and such. It was so convenient to have it inside the hotel (and there is a grocery store across the street - which is extra convenient), but every single morning it seemed to have an almost borderline absurd wait. It took me 30 minutes to get my coffee on the first day and the second day I just gave up after waiting and it was faster to walk to a cafe near by - which we should have done in the first place. It just felt so convenient to stumble out of bed grab a coffee before you head out to whatever the activity of the day is. I will say the staff was always incredible nice and apologetic, it just seemed like they could never manage this rush. The spa and wellness and fitness services were the absolute highlight of the experience. The gym and studios are all super nice. We did a beach yoga class on our second day and it was so delightful and it seemed like all the other guests were enjoying their fitness classes and activities. The spa is area is accessible by room key so you have access to the various steam and sauna rooms, hot tub and relaxation areas which we were able to use before we had our respective treatments. The spa attendants were lovely and really making an effort to make sure everyone had what they needed. The spa tour was also 10/10. The one issue we faced is that it can get incredibly crowded. When we went to the relaxation area after the treatment check in - every single chair was full and everyone was chatting at full volume - making it completely not relaxing. It's also not fun being in a sauna with a crowd of people. The beach and pool amenities were also when things went absolutely awry. We had a day where we woke up particularly early and went wandering to the beach and the first floor pool, but chairs were still stacked and there were no towels around so we went to ask the front desk who said that things aren't typically set up until around 9:30 - hm okay. We went up to the pool by the spa thinking we could then just dash into the spa and dry off while we waited for the beach set up. Luckily there was someone stocking towels and chair covers at the spa pool! We were delighted thinking we could grab these the head down, but the staff member told us we couldn't remove them from the area and the downstairs pool should be set up (news flash it was not - since we just came from here). He seemed absolutely incredulous and acted like we were lying. Not wanting to cause issues or remove the towels (which look the same as all the other towels) we just sat down. Around 9:30 am we went down to the beach to enjoy the sand and the ocean and wandered to all the little booths looking for towels. We saw a staff member setting chairs up and asked if we could also get set up and he said he had just grabbed these from the pool since someone asked him and the beach wasn't set up. This all made me feel absolutely insane. I stomped over to the pool and found a nearby bin of towels and we set our chairs and pitched our umbrellas and then about 30 minutes later saw someone starting to set up the chairs. After some beach time we asked if we could extend our check out even by 15 or 30 minutes so we could have just a little bit of extra time to get cleaned up and explained we totally understood if they couldn't do it and then had the most patronizing experience with front desk staff telling us it was super tight and it would be really really hard to do and a burden but maybe they could make it work. I was absolutely baffled because a - sorry we can't extend check out today would have been totally fine? Overall an absolutely mediocre hotel experience with a blissful spa experience. The hotel is still dated even though it has been updated and while the rooms were find - I'd frankly even have accepted rooms that were not "luxury apartments" and just a standard nice hotel room! I do not understand how this is at an 800-1000 dollar per night price point - it just does not live up to that. I would seriously considering staying at a different hotel and visiting the spa and scheduling some treatments. I do not understand these reviews. I seriously do not. I also would have totally let it all slide if it has just been one thing, or a small thing, or an issue that had been solved, but it felt like every day was another thing that compounded on top of a bunch of other small things. Do not eat at the restaurant - just don't do it - you will be sad and there is so so much good food in Miami.
Be the first to ReplyFelix is great! Agoda.com is the worst!
Upon checking in we were told the Agoda.com site sold us the wrong room type. After 6 phone calls and being hung up on 4 times we were told Agoda will honor it however it still has yet to be seen. Felix, at the hotel, did a great job making up for their error. The hotel is beautiful and in a great area. Thank you again to Felix for making our stay great!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place, need a few maintenance and service.
The location, hotel room and amenities are great. Need an attention to details for the price. We went on Fl residents special and Miami spa month. Pool 5th floor clock needs a battery. Salt mist machines in rooms should be changed daily to work. Men's spa heat steam room had no red lights and did not change of scents,. Buttons did not work. Igloo was cool, but no change of scents only 1 button works. No one in the locker rooms explains the lockers. Sizes in different lockers. How steam, showers, feet baths work. I could not get the foot bath to fill. Bar was great but not open very late. Breakfast was great. (Included) Need to use all paper products vs plastics (greeware is plastic- no better for environment) Clean up the beaches plastic waste, drink cups, etc. I would not pay full price.
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot for a spa & wellness getaway!
We truly enjoyed our time at the Carillion Wellness Resort! You really can't beat their spa & fitness facilities! For those who are still looking to social distance, they have a wide variety of touchless pampering options to choose from. Plus the food here is really delicious!
Be the first to ReplySpa Experience
This was by far one of the best Spa Experiences I ever had. Firstly, I had an amazing Acupuncture session at the Advanced Holistic center with Irina. With my session, it gave me access to the Spa. The front desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. Most of all, in the Spa area, Maria was so attentive to my needs. She gave me a tour and showed me that there was a Thermal Sauna with Eucalyptus scent, an Igloo shower…you have to see this to believe it and so much more. This place is a must for relaxation and pampering.
Be the first to ReplyComfy, quiet, not best for kids fun
Nice place, mid beach so low key. Not the best actual inner city location, lacked good restaurants. Room was cleaned so well each day, beds were comfy. You can’t use all the pools so beware. Not many families and not super kid friendly, but if you have kids, it’s still a nice pool and beach. My only negative is that the staff really lacked knowledge of their own resort, so not super helpful.
