Carte Blanche Dallas Reviews from The Last Year
Well second try at this place but always close even though
Well second try at this place but always close even though both Yelp and google map said it's open. I even called but no one answered, it goes straight to voicemail. Looks good on paper but they were never open. How sad, I would have like to try the food. Too bad will probably give this place a miss since I hate to be disappointed again the third time.
Bakery was good.
Dinner food was just mediocre lacking flavor. Lower Greenville can handle fine dining. Just not the average expensive fare here

I booked and prepaid the reservation a month ago for my birthday at this place and they cancelled it last minute without even a call but only an email. I put my review on Google Map and this is how the owner responded. And I checked my inbox there's still nothing from this owner or this business. I would say I'm happy to see this place is tagged permanently closed on Google Map. Not sure if the owner has other businesses, but this attitude won't bring his business any further.

I came for morning pastries and coffee and was not disappointed. Great hand made pastries!
HOURS ON YELP ARE NOT ACCURATE.
I drove 20 minutes and they were closed which was disappointing.

100/10 immaculate donuts from their limited donut weekend!! very speedy and friendly staff. cute interior and engaging environment!
Arrived at 11:30 for pastries.
They were closed despite their hours saying 7am-12pm. Was a long drive to get there so pretty disappointed. Can't really recommend a place that can't stay consistent with their own displayed hours of operation.

I hesitate to post any pictures because they don't even come close to doing the food justice. Have been thinking about coming here for over a year and, after many stops at the bakery, decided to finally take the plunge. We ordered off the á la carte menu with some glasses of wine based on recommendations from our server, and it could not have been more perfect. Literally a 100/100 experience even though my expectations were fairly high based on dinner reviews and the quality of bakery items. Ambience and service also are unparalleled. This was an absolute treat for me and my parents, worth every penny, and I would not hesitate to come back and/or recommend to a friend. Even the price was approachable when ordering off the menu (vs tasting menu) and I would consider it great value for quality. Best meal of my life , so much so I decided to write a yelp review for probably the first time in 10 years! If you're thinking about trying it, snag the next available reservation and prepare to be delighted.
We came here for the 9 course chef's tasting menu.
It was really spectacular. It's expensive, but worth the splurge for a special occasion. The food was on par with two Michelin star restaurants I have been to in NYC and SF. Nice variety of vegetables, seafood, meats, and desserts. A really well balanced meal. The staff create a good atmosphere: professional, attentive to detail, but also friendly and ready to talk about the food details. When I asked the waiter where the food comes from, there were ready to go into details with names of farms and ranches. I had the rare tea pairing. If you are a tea lover and adventurous, I highly recommend the tea experience. It's not just a bunch of different hot brewed nice teas; that wouldn't make sense as a dinner accompaniment. Rather, it is a very interesting and successful attempt to use tea as a way to highlight and pair each dish. Even for wine drinkers, I think the tea pairing will be a fun experience to try instead of wine (especially if you need to drive home!) Another recommendation: don't look at the menu before eating. That way each dish will be a pleasant surprise and that heightens the fun.

I've been here a couple of times now and have enjoyed it! I would recommend getting there earlier in the morning since they can sell out/selections can become limited as the day goes on. It's a good idea to check their Instagram/website before you go since while they have some staples, their menu changes monthly - it can be fun to grab a box of a few different options to share with friends/family! They have some good seating options there, but it seems like lots of people opt to take a box of goodies to-go. My absolute favorite item is the Tomatillo Croissant Pinwheel (this is a monthly staple and I have gotten it each visit) - the flavors are amazing (especially the jalapeño chimichurri) and it is a great savory option! My favorite monthly items I've had are the French Toast Bostock (March) and Orange Creamsicle Cruller (April). I've also had the brown butter chocolate chip cookie, blueberry muffin, and lattes, but wouldn't order those again since they weren't personal favorites/paled in comparison to the really yummy monthly specials & tomatillo pinwheels (but are staples that might be enjoyed as part of a box)!

The restaurant is in an interesting part of Dallas and the decor is a little dark and moody - a fitting dining experience for our anniversary and featuring Carte Blanche's creative but risky medium rare meats lol. We loved how creative the menu was and that the courses were presented with elements of nature, whimsy, and a blend of textures. The table-side caviar experience was an extra unexpected moment of indulgence that further elevated our multi-course "steak and eggs" seated fine dining reservation from above average to outlier. The service was also just right the whole night - polished but in an interesting, approachable way. Next, we have to make it back on a weekend morning to sample everything from their bakery!
Gastronomic Parisian Delight in Dallas
The most decadent and delightful dinner experience. From the warm greeting at the door by Charlie to the final dessert course everything was 5 stars. Our party of 3 delighted in the 12 course dinner with the wine pairings. Each bite was better than the last and the wines enhanced the flavor of the beautiful foods. The cozy candlelit ambiance lent itself to stimulating conversations while waiting for the next course. This gastronomic experience definitely exceeded expectations. Lucky to have Parisian fine dining right here in Dallas. Can’t wait to celebrate dinner again at Carte Blanche.
Absolute delight- the refinement of France and the flavors of Texas
To honor the birth of my mother this year I had the good fortune to secure us a reservation at Carte Blanc for dinner. We adore the scrumptious and perfectly flaky pasties when we’re early enough to snag them on weekend mornings, but this was the first opportunity we’d had to get a dinner reservation. Since we were celebrating, we opted for the 12 courses in lieu of the 6 course menu. Our meal was a beautifully composed sensory journey that began with dishes plated impeccably and flavors that sang on the palate. While the reserve wine pairing tempted my sommelier sensibility, we elected to do the classic wine pairing. Given the skill and detail required to appropriately prepare such delicacies as the foie gras mousse, smoked antelope or scallops seared to buttery perfection it’s certainly a splurge and I was curious to see how well the classic pairing choices would stand up. Thankfully there wasn’t a single miss in the entire line-up, the wines each walked the delicate balance with every course- highlighting certain elements of the dishes but never overtaking the uniquely curated flavors. A few highlights from our dinner- Celeriac Tartlet- pistachio, pecorino & herb amuse bouche paired with Paul Bara Brut Reserve Foie Gras Mousse- pepper jam, roasted persimmon, gingerbread snap & cultured butter croissant (swoon) with 2020 Oremusl Late Harvest Tokaji Dry Aged Venison Loin- butternut squash puree, spiced quince, smoked antelope rib, antelope kielbasa, bordelaise sauce paired with 2019 Frias Cab, Napa Valley We will be back.
Michelin quality in Dallas
Great Michelin star quality service, food, and creativity. Our family enjoyed the 5 course tasting and the few extra surprises. All courses had a little uniqueness to them with local ingredients. The service was really top notch and they were very good with the kids (who also enjoyed the food and desserts!). Wine list was also very good and reasonably priced for this type of restaurant. Congratulations for making La Liste top 1000 restaurants in the world. We will be back.

Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate |
Yes unfortunately they are finding more and more ways to lock up sellers money. Sell thru rate, refund rate, limiting withdrawal amounts ler day and per month (which for me are the same number which makes no sense). Lot of sellers leaving as you can see from the lifetime sales not really increasing. Most posts on here are frustrated sellers which is not a recipe for success

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

Purchased double chicken please for two hours from now and no response from Appointment Trader regarding my name transfer request which I paid for yesterday. I believe the original reservation holder is a bot as it seems like it when i tried contacting directly. Do I have any recourse if they won’t let me in the restaurant?

I purchased a potential reservation but it seems it both debited my account for the value on AT AND charged my credit card the full value. Who do I contact for help? I don’t mind one or the other but both is too much! Help!
