One of the best meals I've ever had! We went as our end of Camino celebratory meal and it was incredible. We arrived an hour early to our reservation because the Pilgrim mass was shorter than expected and they seated us right away. The staff was accommodating and friendly and the food was incredible. It is a very special place and reasonably priced for the caliber of meal. Be prepared that you are served what the chef chooses (with the opportunity to share any allergies or preferences).

The place was crowded and we still were in and out in 60 Minutes. I need a rematch!

This is hands down my favorite restaurant I've been to in my ENTIRE LIFE. I keep telling my fiancé when we hike the Camiño together we are going here after. When I went we had 5 of us. The chefs asked us about any restrictions which we did not have - I remember we had the oyster, sashimi, fish and at least 4 other things with 5 bottles of wine for about 320 euros which is INSANE for a Michelin restaurant. The only reason to not go here is if Asian fusion isn't you're thing

We've had our share of fine dining and in my limited opinion, Casa Marcelo may have been the best dining experience for us! I would give them few more stars more than Michelin star gave them. This place don't take reservations and dining is a shared table (2 sessions 8:30pm and 10:30pm), usually there's a long wait but we got lucky since it was on a weeknight and even got a spot at the chef's table. You know you're in for a treat when the outside is just a plane building without any signs except on a little window and no set menu. As soon as we got seated, head Chef Martin asked us if we have any food allergy and any food we prefer not to eat and. Once that's established, he customized an exquisite menu just for you (6-8 dishes) and then the magic begins!!!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing restaurant.
Don't miss it. They open for dinner at 8:30 and if want to get in at the opening you need to be on line by 8:10. One of the most imaginative restaurants I have ever been to. Let the waiter get you the dinner of the night. It was 7 courses which included dessert. House wines are excellent and very reasonably priced. Truly a memorable dinner.

An under-$50 Michelin-star restaurant with a customizable menu? Crazy! The day after our arrival via foot to Santiago de Compostela, my mom, sister, and I wanted a high-class celebration of this 115km accomplishment. I found through Tripadvisor that this was the most popular restaurant in the city, so I knew we had to go here. Even before Casa Marcelo opened for lunch at 12:30, there was a line. We got seated immediately, though.Everything in the restaurant was a unique experience - from the quirky decor (plastic toys hung from the ceiling and lights...why?) to the joyful, talkative head chef. Upon being seated, the head chef greeted us and asked about our dietary restrictions and preferences. We were confused why the head chef was also a waiter and why we were given no menus. He explained that this place doesn't actually have a menu - they just have a new weekly assortment of dishes among which a meal will be chosen FOR us. My mom told the chef she likes seafood, my sister is vegetarian, and I can't eat spicy food, peppers, or onion. Since we were seated in front of the kitchen, we got to see the chefs hard at work cutting, steaming, and preparing. Among all of the small plates we received, there were two high lights for me: the cucumber salad and the sashimi fig. The cucumber tomato salad was very unconventional. The baby tomatoes were all peeled, and the cucumber was powdered so that it kind of dissolved in the tomato and vinegar. I don't think it made it taste too different from a normal salad, but I liked the unique texture a lot.The sashimi fig dish was slices of fig with sashimi on top over a pool of white creamy sauce. Such an interesting flavor combination, and delicious too! Overall, the food was nice (not amazing, but definitely unique), the head chef is an amazing host, and my experience at Casa Marcelo is the quirkiest restaurant experience I've ever had. This Japanese-Spanish fusion restaurant is definitely worth checking out.

Best restaurant I have ever eaten at- In the world! Chef martine and his team provide an exquisite menu designed just for you. Top quality ingredients. Innovative presentation. The theatrics of watching the preparation is mesmerising. Cannot recommend highly enough. I will return to Santiago just to eat st this restaurant.

This is an informal with a well earned Michelin star restaurant. I will count as a plus that they do not take reservations, it is first come first serve, so you can just go whenever you are in the mood without having to get a reservation weeks in advance or have to give your credit card information and get charged if you don't show. Very friendly service, which I feel it is kind of refreshing and a nice change from the stuffy service you would get at other fine dining stablishments. Food is great and they will guide you through their menu if you are not familiar with it. I think the Asian fusion label that yelp gave this place it isn't accurate. Some dishes may have Asian inspiration, but not all and they are made with local ingredients. Wine made specially for this restaurant by local wineries are served here and had the chance to try it and I will say they are pretty good.

If food can make you happy? The food at Casa Marcelo will make you crazy happy!!!The experience is amazing! I had lunch... and to be honest - I ate too much...I had an oyster, one dumpling, fois gras, beef tartare, role with red tuna... I drank white wine and a beer... and had 1,5 desserts... one based on berries and the most delicious cake - it was so fluffy, light and delicate!!! And a coffee...Now 1,5 hour later I am so full that I can hardlymove... And then the bill... 63,10 euro... I feared it would be double. I am so happy and grateful for this meal!!!

Wow! Just walked over 800 km on the Camino de Santiago and went looking for a celebratory meal. We stumbled upon this place and they made room for us! Chef comes out with a menu, returned, and we were still debating. He says I'll make a menu for you, tells us to trust him! We are always game for an impromptu tasting menu! The service and food were amazing! Galician food with an Asian twist! Well done Casa Marcelo! Just the thing two pilgrims needed at the end of their journey!

This place is fabulous! Low key, chill, and the quality of the food is on point! I'm a huge fan of being able to go to a restaurant casually and being welcomed with warmth, attentiveness, and attention to detail and service. We came to the restaurant a few minutes before open and was able to get two seats at the counter. Everything we tasted was fresh, balanced, and full of flavor. When you sit down, they make up a menu for you and gauge your pace and whether you'd like more or you're finished. We ordered a bottle and asked that they choose what they thought would fit best for the meal. They definitely wanted to make sure you were satisfied. Loved the atmosphere, the quality of the food and ingredients, and the attention to detail in service. Never would have thought a restaurant like this would exist in an unassuming charming area. I'd love to come back just to try all of the other items we couldn't fit into the list today! Loved every minute of it.

Feel so lucky to sit at the chefs table and enjoy the great experience! Each dish was really well executed. We had the chef pick the courses and wine for us. The restaurant has a white wine labeled for them and it paired well with all the courses. The squid, artichoke with foie, spicy tuna (made fresh to order!), oysters, sea bass, passion fruit dessert, dumplings, and beef tartare were all amazing. Seriously, this experience was world class! Highly recommended to the fusion foodie!
