Great Italian food and atmosphere
Great cocktails, good food and the lovely Maria. All equally wonderful! Highly recommend recommended for a night out
Be the first to ReplyQuality has dropped
This place has drastically gone down hill, the food and service are not to the standard they once were. The restaurant was unusually quiet, I guess a lot of the regulars have also noticed that the quality has dropped here.
Be the first to ReplyExpensive food, small portions.
We chose this restaurant as me and my boyfriend love Italian food, wasnโt too far away from our hotel and had good reviews. The staff were nice and the service was quick. However, my boyfriend had lasagne and there was barely any meat in there but the main issue with it is that it was quite visibly burnt the top layer was like a rock and wasnโt that tasty. I had bolognese and this was yummy however the top pieces of pasta were cold and I finished it in 2 minutes as there wasnโt much there. We shared a chocolate fondant for pudding and that was really nice. We paid ยฃ72 for this meal which was quite expensive considering the food wasnโt that nice.
Be the first to ReplyHelpful and reassuring - and tasty
I have a lot of dietary requirements and their attention to detail was outstanding. Really appreciated it and enjoyed the meal.

Soho house Greek street and White City visited both restaurants within the clubs this week. Food was disappointing and before even ordering told at 1.pm theyโd run out of squid starter - Salmon - and a few other dishes on the menu. This happened in both venues and considering it was 1.pm confused as they run out of key dishes.
Be the first to ReplyDecent, buzzy place
This place is pretty good if you choose wisely from the menu. Calamari and meatball starters are excellent. As is the seafood risotto. Avoid the spaghetti lobster as at ยฃ35, itโs immensely overpriced with probably about a quarter of a lobster in the entire dish. Wine list is similar - some gems on there such as the Alpha Zeta Chardonnay for ยฃ35 but the Alpha Zeta Amarone at ยฃ85 is about ยฃ20 overpriced. The digestives are excellent value. The coffee is good. The atmosphere is buzzy and the room is typically relaxed for the area. Service is prompt, polite, professional and very efficient. All in all, an excellent place for lunch and extremely good value if you avoid the expensive stuff - thereโs no need anyway as this place does rustic Italian very well. We will be back.
Be the first to ReplyShockingly mediocre and overpriced
Decided to try out the Shoreditch version of Cecconi's after many many visits to the Mayfair version and regretted this decision immensely. The vibe of the place felt tacky, the music was far too loud and made conversation across a small table very difficult without shouting. But the food - my gosh - what an incredible disappointment. The starters were mid at best, oily zucchini, calamari that were ok, relatively flavourless carpaccio. The pasta dishes were a disgrace, Tagliatelle with wild mushrooms that wasn't even cooked properly (lots stuck together and very starchy) and almost no mushroom flavour. I would imagine that a M&S microwaved pasta dish would be better. The lobster spaghetti was embarrassing for ยฃ32, with a sauce that might as well have come from a jar. The other pasta dishes were of similar quality. Seriously, don't waste your money, there are thousands of better places to go in London that this horrendous version of Cecconi's. It's put me off so much that I might never back to the Mayfair version.
Be the first to ReplyWorst Italian Food Iโve Ever Had
Zucchini Fritti : the batter was completely soggy with oil, no crispiness whatsoever, and was falling off the courgette sticks. Bucatini allโAmatriciana : ridiculously salty sauce (and for context, I salt my food more than anyone I know) The guanciale was almost all fat with no texture other than rubbery. Profiteroles : looked and tasted like frozen food The casings were absurdly papery and insipid with incredibly ordinary ice-cream inside. Mocktail : no different from orange squash! I would have been happier with pure fruit juice. Ordering : annoying & unhelpful The waiter seriously took the menu out of my hand, to place it between the salt & pepper, for me to literally take it out AGAIN so that I could simply read what to order. After the waiter presented my drink, I asked him what ingredients were in it. The waiter said, โI donโt know! I didnโt make it.โ Serving : embarrassing The waiter was cruelly putting down the runner audibly in front of us. Clearing : disruptive & uncomfortable I tried absorbing some of the excessive oil with my napkin and, when it was drenched, I discarded it on my empty plate. At this point the waiter picked up the dripping napkin in order to deposit it in front of me.
Be the first to ReplyNot great for groups
I donโt think this is the best venue for group bookings. The set menu was easy because it didnโt require a preorder but the food didnโt justify the per head cost. The starters were nice but there wasnโt much food (the starters are done as sharers). The mains were ok. The food wasnโt hot enough and some of the pasta dishes had so much garlic in them that you couldnโt taste anything else. The desserts were delicious and great sized portions. The staff were good but there werenโt enough of them. Some drinks were ordered and didnโt turn up etc. Iโd probably return if it was just 2 - 4 people but no more than that

One of the best Italian in London ! Easy reservation (one week ahead). Location is perfect in Shoreditch. What a place ! Very warm welcome, the light is reduced to have privacy! Beautiful decoration and amazing staff ! And what a beautiful food ! Cocktail and wine very good, truffle Arancini amazing and for the main course, veal Milanese and pizza was excellent ! For the dessert tiramisu perfect ! 150ยฃ for 2 with drinks (cocktails + bottle red wine), starter, main and desert ! Super excited to come back ! Grazie !
Be the first to ReplyFantastic dining experience
We had a fantastic dinner, food was delicious and the atmosphere and ambience was great, which added to our overall experience. Special mention to our waitress, Maria, who was very friendly and helpful. Would 100% recommend for a good Italian in Shoreditch.

This was my second Cecconiโs in London that I visited. We had a wonderful evening. Good atmosphere and decor. All our 3 courses were really good.
Be the first to ReplyA good 8/10 Italian
Good food, smaller plates / portions but filling and wholesome. Nice atmosphere, plenty of character and itโs on a vibrant street. One gripe: is there any need to add 12.5% service charge to the bill? Disappointing.
Be the first to ReplySensational PannaCotta
Great food, atmosphere and service. Special mention for the Panna Cotta, one of my fellow diners loved it so much, he had two ! Bit greedy, and shouldโve used his cutlery but hen said itโs the best heโs ever had.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favourite restaurants in London
The servers at Cecconi's are always attentive and polite and the atmosphere exceeds my expectations every time. I do wish there were more vegetarian/vegan options but otherwise the food is just perfection.

My daughter and I tried to book for lunch but they were full. We were able to sit at the bar for a drink. She had a bloody Mary and I had champagne. The atmosphere was humming and the waiters seemed to really enjoy their work. The food looked great
Be the first to ReplyLively restaurant!
This is my second visit here and experience been similar both times. I cannot fault the food, good size portions and fresh ingredients. The were a group of 4 and ordered 4 entrees to share and then light main courses and shared deserts.
The service was good, but the team were clearly busy.
The reason this wasn't a five was because we were 4 guests on a very small round table so lots of piling of plates to create space.
In addition the restaurant is very busy, buzzy and loud - which can be good for a great atmosphere, but less so if you are wanting a quiet intimate night or are hard of hearing as the music was very loud too.
Enjoyable evening!
High price, high discomfort but good food
The menu and the foods of this restaurant are interesting. Well done and tasty.
Unfortunately, it is too dark inside and it is not really possible to appreciate the aspect of what you are eating.
The biggest discomforting is the noise inside the restaurant. You cannot speak to your neighbour and even speaking with staff is difficult.
After 1:30 hour inside, I was quite deaf at the exit.
Price are too high for that experience.
Avoid the place.
Food and service were excellent.
The restaurant is tucked away but was worth finding following a recommendation. The food was very good and the service was friendly and attentive. A great evening!
Be the first to ReplyUnforgettable food
Came here for a friend's birthday and was blown away by the food. Every dish I tried was outstanding, even the simple tomato penne. Honestly thought about this food every day since I've left, I've now had to book again. However, this is not a cheap restaurant with some of the cheapest dishes still ยฃ17. The atmosphere is sophisticated with dim lighting and nonstop table service, so not really a cheap and cheerful kind of place.
Be the first to ReplyPoor experience
Arrived on a busy weds night - waited 10 mins for our table which I booked, got to the table and another 15 minutes waiting for a menu and drinks order. Ordered 2 x champs - both glasses were flat. Tuna tartare actually tasted of nothing and was hugely under seasoned, calamari was also a bit stringy. Pasta was excellent tbf but ยฃ140 for 4 items and 2 glasses of champs was a bit much. If Richard Caring are in here I think he would be pissed. 2.5/5 at best

Great ambiance, service and food - tasted great. Would definitely recommend for anyone who loves Italian food. Had one of my favourite starters and main courses. Bellissimo!
Be the first to ReplyOver priced, poor quality pasta dishes
Starters were decent, had the truffle aranccini. Mains were very poor, stodgy and salty ragรบ and the duck gnocchi was bland. Very overpriced for what it was.
Be the first to ReplyWorth a visit
Hadnโt booked popped in on the off chance bank holiday Monday, it was busy but they seated us straight away, complimentary bread was nice had to ask for balsamic vinegar as they only offered oil but this was no problem for them, we had truffle arancini and meatballs for starters and the small lasagna and small spicy salami pizza all was very tasty, there were 2 of us and we couldnโt eat it all as the potions are fairly big, so we took some home, reasonably priced, staff friendly enough they were so busy but served us with a smile! Please note they donโt take cash we were only told this when we went to pay with cash as I had lost my card, they did accept it though
Be the first to ReplyDreadful
Had a birthday supper for 13 of us . They sat us in what was a corridor and the food was poor quality . Starters better than mains though . Average overpriced wine . Service ok but just adequate and the din was so loud that we couldnโt hear ourselves speak . I felt battered and miserable by the time I left .
