Brilliant.
Solid 5 stars.Wonderfully set on a dock in the Hudson. It's a beautiful space, thoughtfully laid out in levels so the truly world class view of Manhattan is available for every table.Impeccable service. Was pleasantly surprised by how honest and experienced the wait person was. His insights and knowledge helped guide us through a perfect meal.Loved the fiery cucumber martini. Delicious.Oysters half shell were impeccably cleaned, fresh, plump, and plated beautifully. Seared pepper ahi tuna appetizer was very nice, the slaw and dipping sauce made it perfect.Lobster bisque was steaming hot, very nicely flavored, with some lobster nibbles floating in the thick bisque. Got a bowl, but it's so thick and rich, I'd just do a cup next time.Wife really enjoyed the baked stuffed shrimp.Spiced ahi excellent, asked for mashed potatoes instead of rice, and it worked well. Comes with two sauces, a wasabi cream and a ginger soy, so there are a lot of great flavors to enjoy.Very full, I could only manage a couple spoonfuls of the lava cake. I would say that the small is indeed pretty small. Three of us got just a couple bites each. That was enough for us, but if you're a couple that love a good dessert, or are sharing with more than 2, definitely get the larger size.Highly recommend. Everything about the dinner was delicious and flawless. We already have return reservations for our next visit to the area.

Decided to take myself out on a solo date recently and I came here. The views of the city at night were breathtaking. The restaurant itself was very nice. I had the calamari to start and it was very delicious. That alone filled me up!! I also had a mango mojito the best I've ever had!!! I had also the 14 oz steak. Couldn't even finish it cause I was full. Couldn't even order dessert. My waiter Jason I believe was the sweetest, and very attentive. Made sure I had everything I needed. I will definitely go back again!!

Great view, food is okay, not very tasty for me. Service was good. Wine josh cellars was okay.
Be the first to ReplyWe have been coming to the Chart House for romantic meals
We have been coming to the Chart House for romantic meals with a spactacular view for many years. Day or night, the quality of the food and service are only surpassed by the spectacular waterfront, panoramic views of Manhattan. About a year ago, we uncharacteristically stopped in on a Sunday early afternoon for a light bite. The dining tables in the bar lounge area were all taken, so we sat at the circular bar. Although it was quite busy, we received prompt and very pleasant service from a skilled victualler. The martini was perfect; delivered quickly, and prepared to the "T."'We placed an order for some fried calamari and a pair of fish tacos from a courteous and quite comical waiter. He introduced himself as "Joe." As we enjoyed our meal, the lunch crowd began to fade. This provided a surprising oportunity: observing the humorous banter and synergistic antics of the bartender/waiter team as they worked their crafts deftly and humored each other at every turn. It was hilarious! The coordination and proficiency of their efforts as a team is worth the price of admission. In fact, when we asked for our bill, I asked the bartender three additional questions; 1. What is your name? 2. Are you two guys brothers? And 3. Is there a cover charge for the floor show? The answers: The bartender's name is Ron, he and Joe are not brothers, but they've been working together at the Chart House for longer than some of the furniture, and (amazingly) there's NO COVER CHARGE!Sundays, 12:00 - 6:00 (or-so). Ron & Joe LIVE in Weehawken! Great food. Great view. Great service. Check it out. You'll be back. Just like us.

Made reservations on a Sunday afternoon, and was surprised at how busy it already was. Since we asked for a window view, there was a short wait, which my ladies and I happily did at the bar. We ordered the hummus platter and the shrimp cocktail. Neither were super special, esp the shrimp cocktail that came with only 5 pieces of shrimp. I ordered the filet mignon with the twin lobster tails (med rare). It came out more medium well but wasn't dry at least. My friends ordered their ribeye and spicy ahi which were also okay. The ice cream lava cake which had to be placed early on was pretty delicious. Their service also was on point! Honestly, we would go back just for the NYC view and drinks. Will definitely be back to try other dishes!

Unfortunately, you cannot taste, chew or digest the breathtaking views of the Hudson River and New York Skyline. No complaints re: the visuals. This review was prompted by what was surprisingly mediocre food; and seriously overinflated menu prices. For some unknown reason, The Chart House in Weehawken has been awarded 5 Yelp! stars from several previous diners. To be honest, we don't frequent that many "super expensive" restaurants, probably because I evaluate the price/value equation, in addition to the food/service/ambiance. On a recent Thursday evening, we visited CH to celebrate a milestone family birthday. We stood at the nearly empty bar, admiring the view for quite some time before one (of the three) bartenders finally decided to acknowledge us. I might add that I'm 6'6", so I'm pretty hard to miss! I ordered a Manhattan on the rocks, which finally arrived featuring a miserly pour ... and an $18 price tag, which did not make for a great first impression. After we were seated, we ordered a Fried Calamari appetizer, and a second round of drinks. Two glasses of wine arrived shortly thereafter, in child size carafes, to be poured table side by our waitperson. Again, I was surprised by such a stingy (4 oz?) pour, for $14 and $16. Albeit, the sweet & spicy sauce that was served on the squid was pretty tasty. Although we neglected to order a bottle, the wine list looked quite extensive. Our entrees were only slightly better. I ordered an XXL Prime Rib end cut, which was almost shockingly small, considering it's hefty $50 price tab. Worse, it was devoid of the flavorful, salty crust that I was anticipating in a "First Class" dining establishment. Our other dinner orders consisted of a 14 oz. New York steak; stuffed shrimp; and a salmon & shrimp combo, which my wife didn't even finish ... because she wasn't enamored with how it tasted. I might add that none of us are "remotely picky" eaters. For dessert, we had two of the restaurant's special "Hot Chocolate Lava Cakes," which needed to be ordered prior to the meal. They were decadent and delicious. Finally, we enjoyed the ambiance, the beautiful view, and of course the opportunity to celebrate an important family occasion, together. And, for the most part, the service was friendly and professional. However ... this septuagenarian diner thinks that if you're spending over $350 on dinner for four in an "extra special" New Jersey restaurant, you shouldn't come away disappointed enough to post a decidedly critical Yelp! review!

I visited this Chart House location on 3/3/23 during a vacation to NYC with my best friend to celebrate our February Bdays. I had been researching for months leading up to our trip of where we'd go for our celebratory dinner. I wanted a nice city view, good food, and great service. I stumbled upon Chart House and although we have locations here in SoCal where I'm from, I had never been. I was drawn to their city view pictures on this yelp page. I decided to book and mentioned the purpose of our trip in the special notes on my reservation. Upon walking into Chart House, I was immediately mesmerized by the incredible skyline view from the hostess desk...WOW! We were immediately greeted by GM HANS NIELSEN and escorted to our table, which was one of the best in the restaurant. He handed us Menus personalized with "Happy Birthday" on them. Hans was very personable, polite, and truly a pleasure to chat with as he shared his former residences of San Diego and Hawaii. I already felt like I was a regular at Chart House. Next, in comes our waiter CONNOR. Don't let Connor's youthful appeal and sweet baby face fool you, he attended to us like he had been a well experienced server for over 20 years. He truly has a gift for this industry and for that job. He was personable, charming, and beyond attentive. He had great recommendations for us that did not disappoint and even brought us desserts on the house personalized for our birthdays. We started with the calamari appetizer which was like nothing I've ever had before. Great twist on the traditional calamari. Then we followed with or entrees of filet mignon, with the chimichurri butter. For dessert we had the lava cake and sorbet. The meal was INCREDIBLE! I've dined at some of the best restaurants, such as Mastro's and Morton's, and this was definitely better for the entire experience. This has to be my favorite part of my entire trip and I would not think twice about going back or referring others. Thank you Chart House Wehawken, Hans, Connor, and the rest of your staff for making this such a memorable birthday experience.
Be the first to ReplyI went to the Chart House for a late Valentine's Day dinner.
It was my first time here and I had a great time. The food was really good, but bit pricey. The views are awesome of the city. I got steak and mash potatoes for my entree. Then I got a Mango Mojito for my drink and Lava Cake for dessert. Desserts and drink prices are reasonable. The service was very quick, a little too much being checked on where it felt a little rushed. I want to come back here one day for lunch!

The food is good, the view is amazing but the service is meh, especially at the bar. It needs a reboot in my opinion, but they do have a nice brunch and the location/view is beautiful

Hi, gotta say had a 60 th birthday celebration there, small gathering but was very nice. Our server Rachel was awesome and attentive ! Food was great, prime rib, Mahi Mahi, NY strip, Salmon all delicious. Apps were also good other than the oysters,,, quite small and a little disappointed. Other than that one small thing we had a great dinner with a magnificent view of NY city !!!

Be the first to ReplyCame here for lunch on Saturday.
Really pretty views of the water/Manhattan. This would be a great spot for a bridal/baby shower or rehearsal dinner. Upscale, good food. Menu is $$$$ but they do offer good lunch specials ($21 for soup/salad and choice of 1 of 3 entrees). I can't remember our servers name but he was very nice and attentive.
Be the first to ReplyWe took our Mom here for her 80th birthday.
They did not disappoint! The beautiful view of NYC, the best service from James, and the food was delicious. We started with oysters on the half shell. They were the right temperature with no grit and very fresh. We also had the Hummus which was very tasty. We had the chopped salad and Caesar's salad, the salads were big and the dressing was so good. We then had prime rib that was perfectly cooked with fantastic mashed potatoes. We finished with Lava cake. We made some fantastic memories and my Mom said this had been her best birthday. The Chart House went above and beyond to add so many special touches. I have eaten in a lot of nice restaurants and I find that they usually lack somewhere. The Chart House exceeded my expectations.

Chart House has always been on my bucket list, but due to its popularity, it has alway been hard to get a table (tip: make sure you book your table days in advance). After finally securing a table, I was excited to see what Chart House had to offer. For starters, the location and the view is unbeatable - sprawling views of the NYC skyline. Secondly, the inside of the restaurant was surprisingly spacious and not as loud as I would expect. Service was top notch, very professional, from start to end. Made it feel like a true fine dining experience. For food, I was a bit disappointed (hence why I gave it 4 stars). The appetizers were great; however, the main fish entrees were mediocre - for the price and quality of the establishment, I expected the fish to be high quality. Verdict: food was good, but not great. The other elements (location, vibe, service) make up for it.

I recently went here, the ambiance and view of NYC was delightful! We were in walking distance but parking is available. We went on a Sunday night, with no reservation. I'd recommend making one especially if you want to sit next to the water. We sat at the bar and got drinks until our table was ready, they also have mock-tails! The menu was full of options for everyone! Also there event room upstairs is outstanding. Service was great and the staff is very friendly. We started out with the dry ice shrimp cocktail apéritif, I tried the 3 course meal! Lobster bisque soup- savory shrimp with pappardelle pasta served with a light garlic butter sauce and finished off with the mini lava cake! Take a peak on the deck for the epic view and check out the menu you will be blown away!

I love the water whether beach or river so I seek out places on the water. That brought me to the Chart House in Weehawken- with a stunning view of Manhattan as well! Doesn't get much better than that for me. Wasn't sure what to expect as I'd been there years ago. Entered the double doors to find a very chic, dark setting to offset the stunning views. Decor was in black and grays. Extensive menu with diverse options. From octopus, hummus or kim chee calamari for apps to all types a of fishes, steaks & pasta. Great wine & cocktail selections. Service was excellent & food as well. A must visit again.
Be the first to ReplyThe wait staff was friendly, kind, and responsive.
The food was delicious as usual. However, the parking situation was another story. More then 60% of the parking lot was reserved for valet parking, which about 7 people used. My husband and I were circling the parking lot repeatedly looking for a space without valet. There wasn't a single one. Now clearly, valet is not preferred since that 60% of the lot was basically empty and blocked with white cones. After waiting for 15 minutes for a spot to open, we parked in the last valet spot furthest from the door, closest to the regular parking. We were abruptly confronted by the valet staff demanding we pay 10$ for the spot. This was not how we wanted to start a relaxing dinner. On my last visit on Christmas Eve, a car was stolen out of the valet parking. After purchasing a brand new BMW, I wasn't handing over my keys. This restaurant needs to consider the amount of spaces saved for valet parking because clearly it is not a preferred preference. This was clearly some sort of way to make more money off people.

I'm at the bar as I write this and it's not that busy, however 'lead' bartender seems to be doing everything he can to ignore patrons - looks bored. I got here 5:30pm, before HH ended and I would have liked a bartender who looked out for me to order more food and drink before 6 ( as the better ones do) but instead could care less. Didn't offer water, more wine, I feel like I'm imposing on his time. I would have loved to try more things but I'm leaving without spending more money- so disappointing as I'm usually a good tipper Based on the views alone this place will do well no matter what...
Be the first to ReplyI'll give it a three since 2.
5 isn't an option. Overall, not terrible and far from what we expected. My wife and I are new to the area from Brooklyn and decided to give it a shot. The views are amazing and the staff are doing their best while it seems there are not enough of them. Everything takes too long. Drinks took quite a while, Oysters took nearly 20 minutes, entrees were a full hour. For what you're paying and the wait, the food is no where near standard. Our plates were heat lamp hot and it was just....okay. We won't be back as the food quality doesnt match the price. An hour wait would have been quickly forgiven had it not felt similar to Outback surf & turf.

Liz is the best server!! When and if you visit Chart House ask for Liz to be your waitress. AVOID Christian!! He's a horrible waiter. My wife and I visited Chart House for her birthday. The food is okay the ambiance is incredible. We waited for Christian for about 15 minutes. He didn't greet us at all. You know who did?? Liz and Brian, they are awesome!! With a capital A! Chart House is lucky to have Liz!! That's is all.
Be the first to ReplyAll of the food from appetizers to entrees and desserts
All of the food from appetizers to entrees and desserts were great. The drinks tasted very good. However, we did feel like our server was ignoring us the whole time. She seemed too busy taking care of another table. In other words, if you look rich, then you'll get outstanding service because she was attentive to them and not us. Nonetheless, the place is gorgeous, the prices are not bad, and we may possibly return but hopefully with a different server.

First of all, this is one of the few places with its own parking lot! Second, the views are immaculate. NYC views never get old - and I'm a NY native. Chart House is not only a restaurant but an experience. My cocktail, the Butterfly Effect, was prepared in front of me with dry ice and the butterfly pea powder changing colors of the drink. The appetizers were all delicious, particularly the Kim Chee Calamari & Oysters. The Shrimp Cocktail were also super fresh and presented well. This was my first time ever trying a prime rib, and I'm glad it was here. It was juicy, tender, and thick. It went well with the shrimp scampi I added as well as the 3 potato garlic mash. We had to end the night with a bang with the Hot Chocolate Lava Cake. Rich, decadent, and moist. All in all, an amazing experience for any occasion.
