We are locals, we walked in, three seats at the bar, early, looking good. To consider, we have been to Chianti (DK ownership) many times, had a rehearsal dinner and track dinner here last September for 25 and August for 15. Maybe we spent $7,000 in the past last year, gift certs for friends and family, who would have thought we would be treated this way. Walked up to the bar, told by bartender that the seats were reserved, being a regular, obviously not recognized, I said do you take reservations at the bar? She said "well no but these are reserved", well the question is, they do not take reservations for the bar and are these seats open? They do not reserve at the bar, never have, the seats were open. So if you get pushed out cause the bartender has a "friend" holding seats and please understand this is not the DK policy, do not be intimidated by the host, he is a loudmouth, just walk out and walk away. So as a regular (I tolerated below average food mostly pasta at high prices). Let me say, so many better places to go In SS. I was a regular because it is two blocks from my home. I will walk another block and soon to be next large party will be at the Adelphi. Many great places to dine in SS, the is a red sauce joint with marginal front staff and bartenders. Thanks for reading
Be the first to ReplyChianti remains one of our favorites when visiting Saratoga.
Great cocktails, wonderful food, and terrific service: what's not to love??
Be the first to ReplyIncredible food and kind staff.
They were accommodating with dietary restrictions. Very warm, inviting ambiance that had a nice mix of groups and single patrons for a Sunday night. We will definitely come back if we are ever in the area again!

Came at 5:30PM in the middle of Happy Hour which has a reduced price menu with half sized portions which attracts an older crowd. My wife and I found the last unoccupied seats at the bar. Service was sub par as the two female bartenders were swamped as they had no bar back tonight. Service was a long wait both for food and drink. When finally served our pasta dish, no utensils to eat same. Eye contact with the bartenders was lacking as if these two were not interested in serving their customers. When we finally received our check we tipped accordingly.

Modern, lively Italian restaurant located in downtown Saratoga. Arriving at our scheduled reservation time, we were given a warm friendly greeting and shown promptly to our table. The seating is fairly close together resulting in a noisy but fun vibe. We had plenty of space at our table and were able to have a conversation. The menu was varied and supported by several daily specials. The appetizer highlight for us was the choice of three different preparations of carpaccio available in two sizes. We shared the Classico and Del Chianti enjoying them both very much. The Spaghetti Bolognese and Risotto dishes were both very good as was the beef tenderloin with gorgonzola fondue. The Veal Chop off the specials menu was good, but nothing special. Definitely plan to return again. Note: While the restaurant is easily handicap accessible, the close tables could make navigating the room a bit tricky. I suggest mentioning any disability when making a much-recommended reservation. I did, and the staff accommodated me perfectly.
Be the first to ReplyCame here from out of town and picked this place at random.
We had a reservation and we were taken right to our table. Service was great, friendly and attentive. All the cocktails we ordered were very good, I particularly enjoyed the dragon orange cocktail. Yum! We got the Korean beef appetizer and the calamari, both were yummy. I would want them to turn that app into a bowl entree it would be really good that way too. I got the pasta with vodka sauce, really tasty with tarragon. My sister and friend got the pasta with shrimp with angel hair, while my cousin got the raw carpaccio with a Gorgonzola sauce. We all enjoyed our meals, perfect portion size. Not too much and not too little. I also really liked our waitress! Our reservation was for 6:30 and it was a little slow by 8 was getting very busy. We would totally come back for a fancy dinner here. Street parking!

We were in town for my nephew's wedding and had been to an hors d'oeuvres reception earlier in the evening. I had fallen in love with Chianti's menu (so many carpaccios and risottos!) so we ate lightly at the buffet to leave room for dinner. We were seated as requested in the small outside patio. Everyone who came to our table was friendly, knowlegble, and helpful. All questions were thoughtfully and personally answered. We shared a large Del Chianti Carpaccio and all agreed that it was the best we'd ever eaten - so buttery and rich; the quality of the meat shown through with no extraneous items littering the plate. Both husband and son got pastas and raved over the sauces. I had the Magretto All' Amarena - done just right and the cherries were delicious. Regretfully we did not have room for a risotto or dessert, and more regretfully it's unlikely we'll ever be back that way. How about opening a branch in San Diego? ;)

Really nice dinner and staff! The Korean BBQ app was by far the tastiest thing we ordered. The flavor was amazing! I ordered the lobster shrimp pasta and enjoyed that as well. I would go back!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing experience overall.
The service was great, John took great care of us even on an extremely busy Mothers Day weekend. The penne vodka was one of the best Ive ever had, and the lobster shrimp capellini my friend got was even BETTER! My second visit here, and I will totally be back for a third visit

Delicious Pasta, cocktails were ok BUT the pasta and tiramisu desert were perfect!!! The service was amazing as well. I'll travel here from NYC anytime, just to visit this restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyPretty basic Italian food nothing spectacular.
The vodka sauce was oddly sweet. The calamari came out completely raw and grossly chewy. The mussels were pretty good probably the best thing I got there in an okay sauce. The bread was actually really good and fresh. Would give it another try on another night maybe would be better. Nice loc. Great service and ambience and attentiveness from the staff.

Our last dinner out and I was hoping we'd not end up disappointed. The penne alla vodka was amazing here (seriously why do so many places screw this up lol) It was perfect for our last dinner out while on vacation. Just the perfect ending to what was already an amazing food experience. I am only sad we didn't bring our boy out as he would have loved this place. At 3 years old his favorite thing is penne alla vodka :)
Be the first to ReplyGreat service, attentive but unobtrusive.
Food was great. Special veal chop was delicious, as was a pasta starter. Very good bread. Only negative was it was loud, very loud. I was at a small two-person table and could barely hear my companion. I would go back.

Took my husband to Saratoga Springs to celebrate his birthday and selected Chianti for his birthday dinner. It's a nice place, good location. Good service, although we asked for more bread 3 times and never got it. The food? Well, the menu is pretty small. I selected a cappellini with shrimp in some kind of creamy sauce. It was good but bland. My husband got the bolognese and wasn't impressed. For appetizers we had a bruschetta special which was whipped burrata, butternut squash and pepitas - it was good but again lacking salt. And we had a salad with seared romaine - my husband did not like it but I did - again, lacking salt. Overall, not a bad meal but thing to write home about. Probably would not return. Chef should really up the seasoning in all the food.

When you walk into this restaurant you are greeted with a lovely decor but as others have mentioned it's loud. Our server was very down to business. He seemed very annoyed with questions about the menu. They had a salmon special that came with sides of vegetables. I asked if I could have a salad instead of the vegetables sides. He replied in a curt manner that he would charge me full price separately for the salmon plate as well as the salad. I don't think I have ever had a restaurant who refused to swap out the vegetables for lettuce. So I opted for a Lattughella with shrimp. The salad came with 4-5 small little tasteless shrimp. My husband ordered Zuppa Di Pesce. The whole plate tasted of bad fish. The mussels were terribly fishy and not edible. It was horrible. Very disappointed and will not be returning. As stated by a previous customer review if I could give zero stars I would
Be the first to ReplySooo good.
The appetizers were just as good as the main dishes. The beef appetizer was sooo amazing and so much came in the bowl for an app! The mozzarella and prosciutto was 10/10. So much pasta comes for the entrees I definitely could of split with someone else.

And bad food and the restaurant responds back asking you to contact them back. My wife and I make an attempt and they never reach out to you. I just had to downgrade them further.Attached below was my original review......Was excited to try this place during saratoga restaurant week. The restaurant week has a 3 course meal for $25 or $35 across multiple restaurants. With multiple restaurants to go to week picked 3 restaurants to try out. With great ratings on Google (4.5), facebook (4.6) and yelp had the lowest when compared to the other 2 (4.0), I picked this for her birthday day, as they had more vegetarian options on the restaurant week menu (my wife is a pseudo vegetarian....pseudo since she eats tiny pieces of chicken and tries seafood). I was disappointed with the food. The salad and the complimentary bread were average. The main course was below average and I could probably be more conservative and blame my taste buds than the food or the chef on the main entree but there is no excuse for the dessert which I felt was terrible. I hardly could ever remember not finishing up the desert and this was one such instance. My wife did like her cappuccino, the ambience was good and the service was about average with bad food justifying a 2 star.

If I could write this review without any stars I would but I can't hence the one star.I've wanted to dine here for a over year after hearing raving reviews about this restaurant and finally I was so excited and eager to dine here tonight as it showed up on restaurant week.We chose everything from the prefix menu that they had for restaurant week. Beet salad, pasta +spinach, only choice for dessert( ricotta +peanut butter). Let's start with the dessert.....Oh my god! Ricotta is like a grainy light flavored cheese that drys your throat so it needs a fruit or lemon or honey to make it pop.but when paired with peanut butter which is also dry.... it makes it literally inedible, yuck! This is probably the first time I've not been able to finished a dessert...I couldn't eat more than a bite. The entree, the pasta far from al dente was undercooked...raw even. Topped with sautéed, and extremely salty spinach.... One portion shared between the two of us we couldn't even eat half. And for the salad... glad that a salad is pretty much taking raw greens and dressing it coz if it had to be cooked by the chef he would have managed to ruined that too. $35 down the drain.I feel like I'm being too harsh and I'm sorry but the meal was terrible and today happens to be my birthday and I'm angry that I have to go to bed hungry.

First timer in Saratoga Springs, we had a friend host their rehearsal dinner here. The ambiance was untouchable, the restaurant staff was so welcoming we decided to grab a drink at the bar. I grabbed a glass of wine and my boyfriend got a beer. The wine was outstanding, when we got to our table the bread, appetizers and dinner we ordered were tasty and I could tell these were family recipes. If you are looking for a place to eat and you are not a local please consider this amazing bistro.
