Coltivare Houston Reviews from The Last Year
Amazing atmosphere, cute garden.
Charred octopus paired with melon was phenomenal. Great pizza and pasta with good portion. Cocktails (forgot to take picture) was pretty and tasty as well.

Their pizza was the perfect amount of crispy, rich and no overwhelming taste!! (I'm not even a pizza person) Our service was amazing. Bit of a wait without a reservation, understandably, but the hostess was so welcoming and accommodating. The manager was happy to take a picture of us during our dinner, didn't seem like she was rushing as she checked in on tables. The waiter was absolutely kind and the right amount of involved.

Great pasta, pizza, and service! Their wine list does need some work, but they do make up for it with their creative cocktails.
Service and food were fantastic.
I sat at the bar and was taken care of very well. The bartender was had great suggestions and was excellent at helping me pair wines with my food. I will be back next time I am in town.

The food here is consistently great, but we have been disappointed by the pizza on our last two visits. The $30 local tomato and bufala mozzarella pizza had almost no cheese on it and was basically sopping wet from all the tomatoes. Wanted to love it but should have ordered the house pepperoni. Pasta, meatballs, chicken and peach salad were all fantastic. Service is always on point.

I've come to Coltivare a few times now, most recently on a weekday evening where I was able to make outdoor reservations the day of. We were promptly seated and glad to have made a reservation as I saw there was a wait. The outdoor space is cute and you can see the garden where they grow some of the fresh vegetables they use. The service here has always been great with great explanation and recommendations. Food menu changes depending on what's fresh but I'd highly recommend their tomato and ricotta app I had recently. Their pizzas and pastas are always dependable as well.
It's a lovely, bustling place.
Greta vibes. The patio and garden area are lovely. The patio is covered but there are a lot of flies. Some tables had the fly deter device but there weren't enough for everyone so we were fighting flies but it's summer and that's just summer in Texas. The waiters were great. Food came out fast. The garden area has lots of herbs and vegetables growing so created a great atmosphere. The lights on the patio were cute. The food was amazing. I don't like fish much but the sauce on the fish collar small plate was delicious and made me like the fish. It's like sweet and savory sauce with herbs. The lamb pizza is delicious. The crust was perfect-chewy and soft and crispy. Steak was cooked perfectly. Spaghetti was very peppery so love pepper if you order it.

Excellent ambience and service, tried Gnocchi it was to doe for, had a non cheese pizza, it was delicious, tasty, and didn't miss the cheese. Tried some beet salad, it wasn't as spectacular as the rest of the food I tried, but was good. Cauliflower was also amazing. I will come back.

The place is charming but is crowded and it is difficult to get in and out of the chairs. The food wasn't good. The food had a strong Mexican flavor instead of the clean Italian taste. The service was good and our waiter was very kind. Very odd to see so many mixture of tastes on several dishes and fresh pecorino cheese on everything??? I guess because how cheap it is compared to an aged pecorino or a parmigiano cheese.
Coltivare is a spot that's equal parts cozy and vibrant.
This neighborhood gem offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff, despite being bustling with activity, were attentive and accommodating from start to finish. We appreciated Joshua for taking the time to work with my friend who has 6 different allergies. Greg was also accommodating! Let's start with the desserts! We tried three! While the strawberry ice cream and chocolate rum cake were undeniably tasty, it was the panna cotta that everyone loved. I think it's the honey crumbles. The pizza dough was just how I LOVE pizza. Crusty, chewy and not drenched in toppings. The linguini negro didn't quite hit the mark for me as it was lacking something? However, we all enjoyed the cacio e pepe! The mussels were nicely sauced, I would've appreciated toast to soak up the flavors. The salads provided our daily vegetables as well as the cauliflower. I opted for the French 75 cocktail, my go to and it was perfect.
Excellent pizza and salads
We didn’t really want any more Tex-Mex, so decided to have pizza. Because we didn’t have a reservation, we were seated in the garden. The garden is lovely and peaceful, and when we left the restaurant, I was oh-so-happy we didn’t sit in the main restaurant, which was very loud and noisy. We shared the spinach salad, which was one of the best salads I’ve had. It was a nice size portion for sharing. We also shared the pepperoni pizza with arugula, which had house-made pepperoni. Again, it was one of the best pizzas we had in a long time. The service was just average, though friendly. Would definitely return to try other items on the menu. Note: the second night we went our server was friendly and attentive and 180 degrees from the server the first night. However, the host informed us when we arrived at 5:30 that "we would have to be out by 7:15." Who says that to a guest? And who takes nearly two hours to eat pizza? When we went to the garden, there was absolutely no one else there. As they started to seat other (younger) customers in the garden, I wondered whether they were given the "7:15 banishment" speech.

Intended to come here for a group dinner but the rest of the group canceled so my husband and I came for a date night instead. It has been at least two years since we dined here last and we certainly won't wait another two years to come back. They didn't always take reservations, but I am so happy that they do now! We were asked to wait in the garden when we arrived at the restaurant but our table was ready within 10 minutes. Our server gave great recommendations and all of the dishes we shared really hit the spot. We had the charred broccoli salad, grilled cabbage, bolognese and the broccoli pizza. Our only slight misstep was the pizza. It was very good but I think we both just assumed it would have mozzarella in addition to the feta listed on the menu. Our mistake and not theirs but I do prefer a cheesier pizza. Service and ambiance were both great and we were glad we ended up keeping the reservation when our friends had to cancel.

YUMMM! everything is so fresh and yummy! thought the pasta was good but needed like crushed red peppers or something not a lot of flavor. The chocolate dessert was super yummy but a little salty , my best friend loves it so much she wants it to be her wedding cake hahah! the bread was yummy fluffy with the perfect amount of oil on top . highly recommend going outside for your meal because the music is loud . also make sure you don't have to pee while there because there's two stalls and the line can get longgg
One of my favorite restaurants in Houston.
Beautiful ambiance, service is great, and they take reservations! I come for the meatballs, they're the best. Pasta is good too! Focaccia is good but need to order with the burrata otherwise it's dry and needs a dipping aside. It's excellent with the burrata though! Pizza isn't my fav, too much arugula on the pepperoni pizza but still I give 5 stars for the ambiance (perf for date night) and as I stated, the meatballs!!! Cocktails are yummy too. Parking is limited, but I have no problem if I'm grabbing dinner right at 5 when they open!
First off PARKING!!! Be prepared to search.
If that's not a problem, this place very good! Food prepared very well wounderful presentation, very tasty, loved our waiter and the ambiance. Thanks guys... we'll be BACK!
Food, limited menu.
Not bad but not amazing either. Service, good even though he was a tad rude. Ambiance, ok--loud and lots of outdoor seating, but no heaters were in our area, so I was pretty cold to tell you the truth. Dessert list was severely lacking anything interesting--i mean a scoop of vanilla ice cream and coffee?! Whack.
Great location but parking can be hard if too busy.
Food is fantastic and it's a great place for solo dining. Staff is friendly and outside area is beautiful.
Great service, food, and ambiance.
We got lambrusca, broccoli pizza, and strawberry crostada for dessert!

Easy recommendation! Unfortunately kinda a hard place to get a table with 4 or more, but the food and service is . If you are wanting to go to a spot to share plates with your friends, this place is perfect. All the food is good and the drinks compliment the food very nicely. Also if it is a nice day out and you can sit in the garden area, do it.
Ambience, food, service are all top tier.
Nice neighborhood restaurant. Love to go here on a date night and then walk over to EZ's for a night cap.
Great Pizza, Nice Patio.
Came with my family and ordered a few Mexican cokes and noticed when we got the bill they were over $8 each?? I love having coke with pizza but that is really insane.
Everything was delicious!
We had a wonderful dinner there last night. It was surprising to see so many families with young children but the crowd was eclectic and interesting. Service was friendly and attentive and our food, delish. My partner had the duck leg and he loved it. I had the meatballs and a pizza and both were outstanding. We will definitely go back to try other things. Not a better recommendation than that!

Good Afternoon. It looks like you have requested a name transfer for Carbone NY. Unfortunately, this is one of the restaurants that is almost impossible to do name changes for. They don’t accept phone calls so they are difficult to change the reservations that were booked online.
