Disappointment
It was a disappointment. In the past I have frequented the restaurant several times and now it has gotten considerably worse. A beach restaurant where there is no fish on the menu and the menu is very vulgar. I drank natural mango juice that looked like water from a juice machine. No consistency or flavor. When I complained, there was no apology, just an eye roll. Meals are served in a smaller space (it used to be the bar) and the dining room with the best view is empty! Bad management! A space that was once pleasant and a reference, is now a mere beach bar with no quality.

Bad experience. The restaurant has deteriorated significantly compared to previous years. The tables very close to each other in the smallest room. Antipathy and lack of attention. Upon arrival, we were not taken to the table and were left in the middle of the room trying to figure out where we should sit. We ordered natural juices which were basically water. They were exchanged with sulky expressions. The menu turned out to be extremely poor. Not to be repeated.

The service is very competent and attentive, the menu is very diverse, the location is very comfortable, the food is very tasty and excellently presented, the price reflects the quality of the service

Absolutely miserable service. We waited more than half an hour for a round of beer, unfriendly employees, everything was bad. A shame because the space could be put to good use but instead it is managed by a bunch of mentally retarded people.

Unlike some other reviewers, we had a great experience here on our two lunchtime family visits. It seems to have resurrected itself as a great place to eat and hangout after what was clearly a chequered few years. It’s a relatively upmarket place, the sister restaurant of Comporta Cafe at nearby Comporta Beach. But prices are fair and no more than most places in the chic and trendy Comporta area. Staff were very good and friendly. The interior design and furnishings are top notch. They have the ‘beach club’ concept a la California perfectly honed - nachos, guacamole, burgers, pizzas and great seafood. A real bonus is the sushi. Portugal clearly has the right ingredients for fresh sushi but lacks the expertise and experience of making it. But this place knows what to do. Great sushi roll and sashimi selection. €50 for more than two of us could eat for super fresh sushi is a good deal. And our son loved his pizza. Wine by the glass is excellent and a great cocktail selection. Even the coffee was good. Enough said….

Left the beach as a family around 17.00 today thinking about having something light to eat with the little one and us grown ups have a couple of cocktails (happy hour was announced on one of the black boards and it had enticed is on the way to the beach), only to be met with 2 blank faces asking us all sorts os questions before we were either welcomed or even shown where to sit (i.e. what are you having? Are you staying for dinner?) and a few more inferring we weren’t really welcomed unless we were there foe a considerate bog meal. They looked at us up and down, probably because we spoke Portuguese with them. We travel all around the world and even in very touristy places in our home country of Portugal which we visit often, we have never come across with this sort of snobbery, especially at a beach club!!!! We appreciate it’s hard times to get decent waiting staff and hence why we smiled and made our excuses out the door, but i think management should provide awareness and customer service training as it is obviously lacking.
One a brighter note we drove 8km down the road and had lovely seafood tapas and wine in a place we were VERY welcomed.
