Continental Seafood Restaurant Vancouver Reviews from The Last Year
Old school dim sum establishment with carts in the heart of
Old school dim sum establishment with carts in the heart of Richmond. It is located in a strip mall so plenty of free parking, which is always a plus. The room is large with high ceilings and plenty of natural light with the large windows across one side of the establishment. We came just after 11 am on a weekday and there was no line up. We ordered several dishes...and most were quite good. I was not a fan of the schezwan green beans or the salt and pepper squid. I found the beans were a little undercooked and soggy (not crispy) and the squid was overly breaded. I did enjoy seeing the carts coming around and the service was pretty good. It was a positive food experience and happy to recommend Continental Seafood Restaurant for dim sum.
This a fun place for dim sum.
Friendly and helpful staff amid all the ciaos of a busy restaurant. Good dim sum and we usually don't need a reservation as the restaurant is so big.

Dim Sum in Richmond is an absolute MUST whenever we head up
Dim Sum in Richmond is an absolute MUST whenever we head up to Vancouver, and Continental was a great choice! We were looking in particular for a place that still does cart style, and Continental came recommended. We did not have reservations on a Saturday around ~10:30-45 AM, but were able to get seated at a table for 2 right away. We were, however, seated in possibly the worst location (literally the very last table at the corner by the projector screen, on the way to the men's bathroom), but this didn't turn out to be an issue at all. We were concerned the carts would skip over us, but the cart ladies were diligent about their coverage, and other staff came by frequently to refill tea/water, condiments, etc. They have a cart dedicated JUST to radish/turnip cakes and pan-fried shrimp/chive dumplings, so you know those are a must get. Both were delicious, and I have to say the radish/turnip cakes were the most flavorful here that I've ever had. Carts came by often, selection was vast, and we'd be happy to come back here!
Solid must try if you like DimSum, not the fanciest decor
Solid must try if you like DimSum, not the fanciest decor and get there early or make a reservation so you are not waiting. The food is always good, an every trip experience (tradition) for me and my family when we make to it up Richmond during holiday weekends.
It is your standard dim sum place.
The dishes came out quick and freshly cooked. Plenty of parking when it's not peak time . The service was great ( as we went around 4pm ) - the restaurant ambiance was again, standard. I've had better dim sum but I've got no negatives about this place.
I didn't think there was any more than one restaurant left
I didn't think there was any more than one restaurant left in Vancouver where you could see people pushing dim sum on carts but I stand corrected. Continental Seafood Restaurant in Richmond is the second restaurant we've been to now where you can get dim sum from one of those carts. This one was much better than the one we went to last year. Quality of the food was better and the service was much better too. This is definitely going down on my list of favourite dim sum restaurants within Greater Vancouver! Service: Good Parking: Free Location: 11700 Cambie Rd., Richmond, BC
Very yummy love the dim sum and good deals for banquet
Very yummy love the dim sum and good deals for banquet style dinner. For dim sum, depends where you sit- close to kitchen = warmer food and can take a while to reach other end! Staff is very nice.
Loved the Dim Sum, and especially pea vine and steamed baos.
Great service. Can't wait to go back!
Yet ANOTHER place to get great Chinese food in Richmond, BC.
.. THE ROSES: Ample parking in an otherwise nondescript strip mall. Huge dining space, often subdivided for private events. Excellent food. I really appreciate that this restaurant serves dim sum all the time. The upside of having dim sum outside of normal dim sum hours is that your choices are cooked to order and come out piping hot. You also don't have the pushy 'dim sum cart ladies' interrupting you every few minutes and trying to push on you more food (I know for many this is a much loved part of the 'dim sum' experience, but I personally find it distracting and more than a little annoying). Good service and reasonable prices. THE THORNS: Older space that has had a LOT of use and it shows; the dining room and restrooms, while reasonably clean, are rather run-down. When they have events, the music tends to be very loud. THE VERDICT: Great place for dim sum or the traditional Chinese menu. Recommend.
This restaurant unfortunately deserves a 0-star rating.
When I was billed, I was given inconsistent pricing. As crazy as this may sound, they had two menus- one with local pricing and another with elevated prices for foreigners. I recommend exploring alternative dim sum restaurants in Richmond. Don't come here because you'll most definitely be scammed. Beware!
People come to this restaurant for the push cart dim sum.
I come here for their delicious food. Personally I prefer the order sheet that I can order right away and no need to wait for the cart and see what dim sum in it. Their dim sum is the traditional taste. Parking is an issue.
Visited in July 2023 this year.
Of all the Vanc Dim Dum places, this one held up the best in my opinion post Covid. Prices wise, kind of expensive just like the rest in Vancouver. Food quality, was better pre Covid, but understandable given the poor participation amongst the younger population of workers nowadays...What made this place better than others? The Dim Sum cart ladies are warm/friendly, very old schooled and appreciated.
~~ Good Soild Dim Sum ~~
It is one of the oldest Dim Sum restaurant in Vancouver , been in Richmond for less three decade or more , not a fancy elegant Chinese seafood place but old style Cantonese cooking , it is locals flavor morning hang out spot and the price reasonable , very spacious clean friendly and so noisy like you are in a market , I took all my management out for Thanksgiving Lunch to thank them hard work , excellent Financial Report , so my staff choose the Continental for their location and quality of the food , our tablets nicely set and very spacious 18 of us , Management very professional and make sure I am happy with the tablets and the food , after 1 pm the restaurant still packed , I love the idea the ladies push the Dim Sum cart around , so every one just choose their flavor items , the quality very top notch piping hot not over steam , I love the Chicken Feet and the steam ribs also the Shredded Chicken Chow Mein , and Special fried Rice , they all not oily and not over seasoning and not too much MSG , staff very friendly and helpful keep change the dirty dishes and keep refilled our Hot Tea , wonderful Chinese Thanksgiving lunch looks every one love the food lot of doggy bags ! so if you looking for a good Cantonese Dim Sum restaurant , try the Continental truly a tasty Dim Sum spot , lot of dishes you will not find in any fancy Chinese restaurants ! and budget family !

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
