In The End, Tiresome
In the end this was not a good experience. Extremely pretentious service. The waiters were like robots, not the usual friendly helpful waiters one is used to in Greece. Seems they are trained not to be too friendly in order to maintain some kind of "sophisticated" facade. The food was ok but finally tiresome in the attempt to be too clever. We knew we were going to be fleeced. That goes without saying in all such restaurants and the hefty bill was not a problem. We were a party of 4 and all agreed we would have been much happier in a normal restaurant with a menu where you can choose what you want rather than have to rely on "chef" to choose for you. And we would have saved a bundle.
Be the first to Reply5/5 it was excellent
An amazing gastronomic restaurant that everyone should definitely visit. The prices are very good for the super production it offers. They informed us that even if you are not a fan of fish (most of the dishes were based on that) if you inform them in time they will prepare something different for you. We only tried the menu without the wines, but we definitely want to come back in the summer to try them and sit in the excellent space outside. The staff is very helpful and kind. All the dishes were delicious, they were one and the same.
Be the first to ReplyFab food and atmosphere.
Wonderful imaginative food. Flavoursome and creative with a magical atmosphere. Offers a set meal (they did accommodate allergies/intolerances that we put on the booking form) with two levels of wine pairing - the cheaper one is mostly Greek wines but was very good.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious, intimate dinner
We had a wonderful experience at CTC as we treated ourselves to our first Michelin star restaurant experience while on our honeymoon. We chose to add the wine pairing with the courses which is 100% the way to go - why not make the most of it! The 11 courses were absolutely incredible, as were the wines. I could have died in a vat of their pull-apart challah-like breadโฆheaven. And the dessert with a chocolate avocadoโฆwildly fun! We have a couple food allergies and they were more than accommodating and we had no issues. We ate every single bit of everything and left feeling very full and VERY happy. The staff were wonderful - very knowledgeable, kind, and fun. The atmosphere is an intimidate patio that is very romantic, beautiful, and calm. 10/10!
Be the first to ReplyShocking service... kicked off table before the end...!
A good meal ruined by the worst service ever. We were literally asked to vacate our table IMMEDIATELY between the last dessert and petit four, and told to "eat them outside". No warning, just booted out. Here's what happened for context. - Last dessert of the tasting menu was cleared. - We were then told to vacate the table immediately, next seating was waiting. - Despite other 2 seater tables available nearby! - no prior warning that our time was coming up. Not 10 mins, 15 mins before... - They blamed us - "didn't you read in your confirmation email that the table is only for 2.5hrs? It's your fault your time is up". - implying that it is up for us to keep track of our time, during a tasting menu? - talked to the manager and the head chef / owner on the phone, and both were adamant that we agreed to 2.5hrs when booking, it is their right to kick us out when the time is over. Wow. So arrogant. I've eaten in many Michelin star restaurants, had many tasting menus. And never before gotten this kind of rude service. It completely spoiled the evening. They are implying that it is the diner's responsibility for keeping track of their 2.5hr allocation during a tasting menu... Am I meant to time each course? Make a schedule? Keep looking at my watch? Chase them for the next one quicker? Plus, anyone who has had a 11 course tasting menu before, knows that it takes 2.5-3hrs to enjoy. I have never ever exceeded any time allocation for a reservation. Not in the tens of Michelin restaurants or tasting menus I've had. So really, I don't recommend this place, as they are just too unrealistic about expecting guests to finish 11 courses within 2.5hrs. And then blaming you and booting you out ASAP for "violating" the fine print in the booking. Out of thousands of places I've eaten at, this must rank as the worst service.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Anniversary dinner in Athens
We celebrated our anniversary with an amazing blind tasting menu. We booked our dinner about 3 months ahead. We had wonderful dishes . Pacing was perfect. Dishes were beautifully explained and presentations were all different and very special. Wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary. Certainly recommend it highly.
Be the first to ReplyPoor experience
They should learn how to handle unexpected. We arrived 20 minute late, so we were wrong but they just told us that we have to enjoy our dessert outside. But if it was too cold to be outside or it was a rainy night ...??
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
I would like to start by saying that this is maybe our fault to start because we arrived 20 min late. First day in athens and got lost on the way to the restaurant. We then took a taxi to get there asap. We did, 20 min later than our original reservation. But i think this type of level restaurant would have the experiences of how to manage this type of situation more professionally. Once sat down we were rushed through the meal and just before desert, asked to step to the terrace outside, in the cold and have our desert there. Just us four, on an empty terrace, in february... Very disappointing approach, unqualified for a one star michelin star...
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience for a 40th birthday celebration - if you're debating it, then just go! :)
We loved our 11 course meal and are so glad we chose this restaurant. The food was incredible and the plating was so creative. I'm a veggie and my partner is pescatarian and they adapted the menus really well. Portions are not huge, as you'd expect from fine dining but they are all delicious. I definitely recommend you go for the pairing wine (we did the cheaper one 'Trip' and felt it was enough) The wines were really interesting and really did go so well with the food. The staff were so attentive - it was excellent service from start to finish. My only constructive feedback would be that the vegetarian menu should be cheaper as the ingredients are a lot cheaper than meat and fish
Be the first to ReplyA well-deserved Michelin star! why not a 2nd one!
What an amazing and delicious dining experience! the dishes that follow each other are all more appetizing than the others and the surprise is permanent! It's an explosion of flavors. Some typical Greek dishes are brilliantly revisited. We have had the opportunity to eat in many starred restaurants and this one is a real favorite. The place is simple but charming, the dishes are original and everything is thought out with care and taste. A big thank you to the chef and his brigade for this excellent evening! We will come back!
Be the first to ReplyTerrible hospitality
Very good food but they exaggerating in everything else. Terrible hospitality as they brought the check without asking and they came to collect. A very bad experience that not even great food can save
Be the first to ReplyFantastic experience

Be the first to Replyunfortunately a poor experience (not because of the food !..but ....)
My wife and i have spent a week in Athens, and we decided to enjoy the local food and the best local gastronomy. Used to Michelin star restaurants, we booked CTC Urban gastronomy restaurant. Unfortunately, it did not go well : the cuisine/food is excellent and creative, but the service is AWFUL !!...i will further explain. After sending an email for reservation, we had a response only 2 days later as the restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays, but i would have expected that someone at least response to booking requests during closing time...then it was the only restaurant requiring a Credit card pre-booking for the reservation and charging 40โฌ per person in case of cancelation less than 24h. The restaurant is offering 2 round of services, one at 19h30 (early...) and 22h00. The reservation indicated that we had to finish the diner at 22h00 as they have another service....which gives only a 2h30min timing for an 11 courses menu...As the restaurant was very full during the week, the restaurant proposed us only a table at 19h30. We arrive at 19h25, and we had the bad surprise that we had to wait for in the street because it was closed...there was even no possibility to enter in the courtyard to wait inside the location instead of the dark small street where it is located. The restaurant is a nice building, elegantly decorated and clean. There is no choice for the menu (except allergies and intollerances), as it is a 11 courses discovery menu. We have to recognize that the cuisine and food is excellent and very creative. it is also served on very creative and nice plates. Special positive note on the cold courses, where we have not been impressed by the hot courses, like the revisited bouillabaisse or the revisited Coq au Vin. The main issue has been in the service. First, the "sommelier" oriented us directly on the most expensive Azerico white wines he had, instead of proposing an affordable one and a more expensive one. After selecting one, he came to inform they had no more bottles of the one we selected !!!..so he proposed a replacement at same price. After that, the problem came from the super high speed, super stressed service ! first you have permanently servers around you coming to inspect your place, glass or else and invading your privacy permanently, even interrupting your private conversations when serving ! the main issue comes from the fact that they want to serve 11 courses and an amuse-bouche in less than 2h30, and the experience become a formula 1 race !!!!...the serve you at the speed of a rocket, they speak very fast to explain what they serve, and the want to take back your plate even before you are finished with what they just served you ! we had to hold our not finished plates 2 times as they were trying to take them away ! I asked 2 times, to 2 differents persons from the service to slow down the speed of serving the dishes, explaining that we will be done on time at 22h00 for their next service. On the 3rd time, the famous "sommelier", who seems to be a kind of manager came, excuse himself for all this, and started an argument, where he even raise his voice against me, and became ironic, when i asked who is able to make the service slowing down, and he said "maybe call the ministry of justice of greece"....He explained also the economical reasons of this stress because of the 2 services, and i think profit is driving this situation...We did not even finish our last course which was last desert as we had to leave precisely at 22h00. They proposed us to move to another table in the restaurant to be able to finish their menu, but the bad was already there, and we were pissed of and disappointed. So, we had really a bad and poor and highly disappointing experience, not with the food which is excellent (this is why i keep a 2 grade), but with the very bad service. I hope the owner and chef of the restaurant will consider the remark on the service, because when reading all the other reviews, i have found several times the same issue on the bad service level and to speedy experience. So, if you want to enjoy and have a good time, else then just great food, i would not recommand, and i hope the Michelin guide will revisit his star reward because of service.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful place, inspired food - slightly clumsy service
We booked a table for two at opening time for dinner, and were welcomed as soon as we arrived. We were walked to our table, which was in this cozy garden, under an olive tree. Great cutlery with a modern twist, in a setting that was really screaming "Greece". Service, especially at the beginning, was a bit clumsy. The young staff members were nice enough to us, but promised we would be able to talk to the sommelier, in order to choose our wine - and whether we wanted to go for a wine coupling or not. In the end, we were induced to pick our sparkling wine for the aperitif without the advice of the sommelier, and the rest of the staff were not particularly knowledgeable about the wine. However, while we might have not started on the right foot, once food was served (and once we decided we'd go for the pairing - without any "consultancy" with a wine-savvy person) things were easily fixed. Our journey started with the chef's take on typical "taverna's food" and passed through stunning dishes, some of them really moreish (Oh, God, that lamb.) The price was more than fair for the category of the restaurant. Would definitely go there again, but meanwhile... good luck with your interesting project, and hopefully you'll manage to fix the minor flaws, that prevented our experience from being perfect :-)
Be the first to ReplyAn exceptional culinary journey
This was one of the highlights of our culinary discovery of Greece ! This is a true gem, reasonably priced for the quality you will get. The only option is a blind menu with 11 dishes and we were enchanted by the experience with some tastes, textures and associations that take you on a daring but wonderful journey. The terrace is perfect and relaxing with its big trees and the service provided by a young crew is extremely friendly and professional. Donโt miss this place if in Athens. It really deserves its Michelin star and would definitely deserve a second one !

Be the first to ReplyThink again if you want to spenx money!
Choose another place to dine so you could actually have a great experience! we booked this place 2 months befpfe hand and really were looking forward to the experience especially coming from another country 14 hrs away. The service took ages to get the dishes out, at the end we just wanted to go because we were sick of waiting.11 dishes so you can imagine! We asked 3 times for a cheque from 3 different people and they have just brought across a dessert when all wanted is to go.The staff started to agrue with us so we have just paid and left without finishing 2 last dishes. Food: pretty ordinary- for signature dish its corn with lobster souce which neither of us liked. They have substituted it with pea soup which turned up cold. Overall it was waste of money and time. Think again if you want to spend $85 for bad service, terrible rude water and cold dishes which all taste the same. Dont know who they have bribed to get the Michelene star! We never coming back, will tell our friends and fam not to and will recommend to amyone to book any other place unless you'd like to have bad evening experience!
Be the first to ReplyGreat value, pace yourself.
A tucked away courtyard in a trendy urban area. Went for a drink on the corner in a very nice traditional bar with live music playing before. Once inside we sat outside in a spectacular courtyard. Staff had everything covered as you would expect, from the first cocktails to the last drop of dessert wine and every one of the 11 courses was explained properly. The wine flight matched beautifully. The photos will show you how inventive this place is. The first 3 amuse-bouche started us off brilliantly. The first course blew my mind. Ice, fruit, raw fish then spice. My favourite. The dishes kept coming! Each one a perfect couple of mouthfuls. The tomato infused calamari spaghetti was so tasty and the dessert that looked exactly like a cauliflower was a perfect balance of sweet white chocolate and earthy cauliflower. 85 euros for such an amazing experience is great value for money and recommend this place to anyone who likes to go on a food journey. Superb.

Amazing food, relaxing ambiance, superb staff. What more could you want. Wonderful from the moment we arrived. The food is absolutely fabulous and in a par with other Michelin star restaurants we have visited. We wouldnโt hesitate to go again and will most definitely recommend to others.

Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely tasty!
We had a great meal at CTC - we had the 11 course with an addition of grilled lobster and the full wine pairing! Excellent service and inventive dishes. The standouts for us were the corn and truffle volume (with lobster) and the cauliflower dessert - mind blowing!
