This. Place. Rawks!!! From the service to the meal, everything was on point! We had a great meal.
Be the first to ReplyI am in Seattle for three days.
I went here on Monday night with a co-worker and the place was empty (which is understandable since it was President's Day). We sat at the end of the bar and the bartender came right over to chat and take our order. We started out with a couple drinks recommended by our bartender. My coworker got a whiskey drink and I a Moscow Mule. While not served in a metal mug, the drink was smooth and delicious in the glass - which is the first time I had ever had a decent Moscow Mule served in a glass. My coworker knew his drinks and ordered a whiskey I'd never heard of (though I'm not a connoisseur of whiskey), then he ordered a cocktail off the menu that the bartender recommended and then had a vodka drink with the Polish vodka the bartender also had recommended (the same one I had ordered for my mule. He wanted oysters (which I think are icky) and he said were very good. I got the duck fat fries (heavenly) and then we both ordered burgers which were juicy and delicious. Damn the Weather is located in Pioneer Square and is great place to unwind with friends and colleagues after work for great drinks, good food, knowledgeable bartenders, and an awesome atmosphere.

I looked this place up because I wanted a bar that specialized in specialty drinks. They did not disappoint. Be warned... parking is limited, and we came about an hour before they closed. The bartender was wonderful and made some really good suggestions. First, we had the old-fashioned from the boozy menu, and the dos arbolitos fenn the fizzy menu. The la hara old-fashioned packed a lot of punch without being overwhelming. The dos arbolitos was sweet and fizzy with an aftertaste of rose water. Next, we had the jaztronaut, which reminded me of a ruby red grapefruit and the wintry cocktail that featured a sweetened brandy that made it pleasant with a hint of orange. The bartender did inform us that she and another coworker created the cocktail. It may not be on the menu when the weather changes. All in all... great place to go if you want a nice drink without all the frills. Just a great drink!
Be the first to ReplyOrdered the dos arbolitos and jaztronaut for drinks.
Both were delicious. Also had the warm cheese plate to share. Unfortunately they no longer have a happy hour. Cute inside though.

3.5 rounded to 4 Came for a work lunch and it was fine, nothing that stood out for good or for bad. It's a small, cozy place that I think would be better for drinks, so I'm inclined to come back. I got to try the campanelle pasta which was surprisingly housemade and hit the spot for a good creamy dish. The cornichons and olives were just what you could get out of a jar so I wouldn't recommend getting them, but I did appreciate that the olives were seasoned somewhat differently.

Wow the food is fire; i had Ally as a server and she was so knowledgeable about all the food. She helped me decipher the best options for me(vegan) and she put me onto the eggplant sauce wow i got the brussel sprouts share plate and i had to get a second because of how delicious it is. Thank you for such a great experience Ally :)

The food was different we had the turkey pot pie and the duck fat fries. Out of the two the pot pie was the best, but was over all a little dry. The fries were good and the dipping sauces were excellent. Also somewhat hidden on the menu is a mock tale option!
Be the first to ReplyThis was a delightful dinner experience.
Had the warmed cheese plate, fettuccine, and a burger. We split everything and it was delicious. My friend commented that it was the best burger she's ever had. Cozy atmosphere and a great server.
Be the first to ReplyNot going back.
Watch the check, they automatically add the tip on without saying anything. They have a policy of bringing out the plates one by one as they become ready. This means everyone at the table got their food at a different time. Then the waitress returns to tell me they had accidentally given my meal to another table and it would be another 20 minutes. The rest of the table had long been finished by time my food arrived anyway. Food was disappointing and the fare does not match the price for the quality and taste.

Haven't been there, but that's 5 Stars for a hella cool name. I'm sure it's also a lovely spot.

I am extremely disappointed with the service and unprofessional behavior provided by the hostess at Damn the Weather, she clearly needs to be taught the basic fundamentals of customer service. Background:I was in Seattle today with my family for my 55th birthday. We decided to choose a restaurant that we had never dined at before - we scrolled through the reviews and were very impressed, so we walked for 20-minutes to get to Pioneer Square. Once we arrived, we were told the wait time for a party of three was approximately 25 minutes. The restaurant was full, but we noticed all the names listed were lined through, so my daughter gave her name. My daughter offered her phone number as well, but the hostess said it wasn't necessary. We stood outside the front of the restaurant near the outdoor patio. There is no waiting area in the restaurant. After roughly 20-minutes of waiting outside in the cold, we witnessed a couple walk in the restaurant. They were immediately taken to an open table in front and seated. We were confused - thought there might have been a mix-up, so my son went inside and asked why we were not seated at the open table. My son was told the table that opened up was a six top. So he questioned why there was only two individuals seated at the table. Instantly, the hostess/waitress became extremely rude and combative, and removed our name from the list. From outside, I can see her shaking her head and throwing her hands in the air. We were in absolute shock, instead of her apologizing for her mistake, she refused service. To the owner of Damn the Weather - I understand that it is extremely difficult to find good employees in the restaurant industry, especially in the Seattle area. However, having the bottom of the barrel represent your restaurant is detrimental to your brand. Because of this individual, I will never dine at your restaurant.

I came here after the first Thursday art walks in Pioneer Square around 8pm with no reservation and was able to grab a table for 5 after a short wait. This is probably the most appropriately named bar in Seattle, but it leans into the rainy weather here by creating an intimate atmosphere. There are beautiful hardwood floors that switch to marble tile as you get closer to the bar.The food is mostly comfort food (with just a few vegetarian options, and no visible vegan options), but you shouldn't come here for the food, come for the drinks and atmosphere.

The cute and cozy ambiance within the brick walls of downtown Seattle welcomed me with open arms on a very rainy day. My go to is a gin and tonic and this one was pretty solid paired with an order of French fries. I monied on. up to the bar and was greeted with a very friendly and accommodating bar tender. Great place for happy hour, or just to catch up with friends on a Tuesday.

The food here is excellent and the restaurant features a rotating/seasonal menu. The menu, like the space, isn't huge but most every dish is a winner. The atmosphere reflects the name: dark and moody, just like Seattle. The servers are well-versed and have usually tried most of the dishes so if you can't decide (and you're not too picky) ask them for a suggestion. The steaks are flavorful and the pasta dishes are unique. The cocktails are a must and the drink menu itself is organized by flavor/texture profiles. Lovely little "night out" spot if you have guests visiting from out-of-town.

Fantastic place - great appetizers, awesome cocktails (the Tucci Old Fashioned is to die for), and terrific wine, at least judging by the Friuli-Venezia Giulia white that we had. Awesome for a first date - or any date.
Be the first to ReplySo I stopped in.
Put our name on the 45 minute wait list. No big. I asked the hostess will you text me? The answer: we will call you you and then text and you have 10 minutes to respond. I saw the call, but since it wasn't a "known number" I missed it. Showed up in 4 minutes. I repeated what we had talked about earlier and she said "we never text" when I looked at my partner for confirmation the hostess got confrontational and said "your arguing with me we don't need to seat you at all." I went obsequious because I wanted dinner. I get it. It's a popular place but going Donald Trump on me twice in under an hour is just no bueno. Once we were seated the food was great and the service was lovely. But the handling at the door was offensive. It was a beautiful place, and tasty. I will not be going back.

Great for a date night! It has great cocktails and perfect pioneer square vibes. Love their food and small bites as well. The oysters!

Zero stars if I could, the servers need customer service training. Everyone looked so mad and not wanting to be at work. Not one single smile from anyone, except the lady at the front desk who was seating patrons. We also got kicked out because they yelled at our friends to go sit down, who were standing next to us, then we got told to leave because our friend called out her rude behavior (just told her "that was rude") We are professionals and not used to that kind of rude treatment. Very short tempered people there, maybe the bar scene is not the correct industry for you, especially if you hate your job. We won't be back. Another weird thing that happened, I ordered two glasses of wine, one for my dad and one for myself, she was confused about the order, she said you each want your own glass of wine?

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Seattle!! Food, vibes, service, and the passion for always being open, no matter the weather! I just love this place. Will continue to come back every time I'm in Seattle!

I waited for 2 and a half hours just to have the most rude host i've ever met. Shocking and not worth it.
Be the first to ReplyI really wanted to love this place.
Service was nice, little slow on making drinks but she was attentive. Drinks are overpriced and we expected that downtown. Food however I just could not get behind. We ordered the duck fat fries, the meat charcuterie and the cheese charcuterie. They served both boards on one which was $36 by the time they combined them. Food portions were small for that price. Even for a board. For me the food did not stand out or make me want to come back to to order more. Ambiance ย was nice.
Be the first to ReplyGreat cocktails and food.
The the thyme gin cocktail was amazing and the burger one of the best in the city. Damn good duck fat fries too. One of the gems in Pioneer Square
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere.
ย Fresh oysters were delicious, staff was friendly. ย Glad this place is hanging in there!
Be the first to ReplyHadn't been here in years probably since they first opened.
ย a friend and I came here for a quick cocktail before a show and dinner at. Cafe Nordo we were a little early and needed to hang somewhere for about half. an hour. We both had the yuzu gimlet. Service was attentive and they made sure we got out in time. Cocktail was refreshing would definitely have it again. Always forget how much I love the aesthetics of the bar. Hope to visit again soon whenI have more time to hang out.
Be the first to ReplyYou're really paying for the ambiance here.
Food was okay (duck carbonara and duck fat fries), definitely not worth the price. Drinks were decent, if I were to come back it would be just for the drinks!
