Your dining experience begins before you even enter the restaurant. Servers bring you wine and bread to encourage your appetite. Dario will personally greet guests before seating. There are multiple levels of seating which easily accommodate couples or groups as required. Because there is no menu, you have ample time for chatting before service begins. Wine selection is easy. You either enjoy Dario's house Chianti or bring your own (no corkage). Once service begins, a plethora of dishes are served over the next couple of hours. Every dish is a delight for beef lovers. The bottles of Chianti are bottomless. Servers are very attentive to diners needs and welcome questions. After about ten dishes, you're treated to dessert with an apรฉritif and coffee. Great food. Great service. Great experience. Great value at โฌ50. Be sure to bring a huge appetite to avoid frustration. You don't want to miss out on a single dish. Cheers!

Ok, so if you want any cooking/travel shows, you know who Dario is. CARNE! When we found ourselves with a rental car and driving through central Italy, i knew we would have to make a stop at Darios! Easily made a rez online for the 50 euro meat meal (there are a few options, make sure you reserve the right one!) and they confirmed via email 2x. The little Tuscan town is ADORABLE! Worth a stop regardless. It's about an hour from Florence, or less from Siena, i recommend spending some time in the hills of Tuscany, which we didnt do. We lucked out and Dario was there and putting on a total show the day we were there. It would be a bit disappointing to go and have him not be there, but i think it's a worthwhile experience even if he's not. The process is a little chaotic, so learn from my mistake. When you walk in the shop, grab the treats, take some pics, then immediately go upstairs and "check in" for your rez. We waited too long and by the time we got up there, all the normal tables were taken and they lead us to this bizarre set up next to the parking lot that was clearly an afterthought. Obviously the food and wine were good, but i think we missed some of the ambiance and experience. Our table sat 10 people, but there were only 4 of us most of the meal (another 2 joined halfway), so it was just not the BEST experience they offer, i imagine. Regardless, its a great deal for your money (LOTS of meat and free flowing wine). I would think maybe they need to limit their reservations, rather than adding tables to fit as many as they can.

Be the first to ReplyWe discovered Dario through the one and only Anthony
We discovered Dario through the one and only Anthony Bourdain and had it in the back of our minds to stop in when we visited the area. Well, 3 flights, 2 taxis, and 3 bus rides later we were saying hello. What a riot! Greetings of complimentary wine, a spread of bread, meat, and olives were for everyone. A throng of people in high spirits with AC/DC blasting. And of course Dario at the center of it all. We got a photo and time with him and it might be the happiest photo I have seen of us - that's the thing about Dario - joy!

If you are Beef Lover you have to eat here at least once in your life! Or more if you can make the trip to Panzano, Chianti. Dario and his staff are so hospitable and welcoming! This place was recommended to me by a friend from Chicago who said this was the best Beef Memory of all time. My wife and I made the journey from Barga to Panzano and enjoyed every delicious course. We had the all you can eat Beef Extravaganza for 50 Euros and it was worth triple the price! I ate a few beans, which were so good, half of a baked potato and then a huge amount of everything from Carpacio to Ribeye to Porterhouse to .... ย Amazing! This is a Beef Lovers Experience that will never be forgotten! Thanks Dario and thank you Keith for tellung us about this amazing place.

Overrated chewy meat :( very dissapointedWe dont understand why people like this place? Good meat should melt in your mouth, these were more like chewing gums without a taste. It is impossible to serve good meat to 60 people at the same time, this place has become too commercial. If you value your money dont go here.
Be the first to ReplyIf you love meet, you found heaven.
If you are vegetarian, stay away!It started and it still is a small butcher shop, but by now it became extremely popular for its daily meet feasts. You can go for Dario Doc, where you can choose a (burger) menu. Good for lunch and reasonable priced. But if you came here for meat, you need to go for the Officina de la bistecca. For 50 Euro per person, you get the whole deal, wine and spirits included. It starts with fresh vegetables which you can dip in tasty olive oil and sprinkle it with profumo del chianti, a salt and herb mixture made by Dario. Then you are ready for the beef tartar, perfectly seasoned and you wish you could lick the plate afterwards. Next will be mouthwatering beef carpaccio and now you are ready for more meet. Three courses are about to come, crowning it with the Bistecca Fiorentina (the Queen of meat). You will know when you get her, you get a new plate so that nothing you had still on your old plate can spoil the taste.Oh, and of course, beans, potato and bread are served as well. Be careful with it otherwise you miss the best parts in the end.To top it all off you get olive oil cake (sounds strange - is tasty) in the end and of course coffee and a grappa. The vino di tavolo is included and its a solid Sangiovese from the area, but you are free to bring your own bottle if you please. Lots of people do that. The Officina de la Bistecca starts twice a day at 1pm and at 8pm. Parking is available directly behind the house.I have gone now several times and it is still on my list now and then when I am in Tuscany. If you love meat you will love it because you get the best quality right from where it is processed.

Even better than the Way Anthony Bourdain described it to be! If you love beef than as Dario says "to beef or not to beef". 5 course beef menu starting with tartare and ending with Bisceta a la Florentine. 50e pp.

Hyped up but was just averagely OKHad some wine and bread being given at the entrance, didn't care for the animal fat w/ herbs.I went for the โฌ 20 "Accoglienza" : Vegetables ( carrots, celery, fennel) to dip in olive oil, steak tartar, pulled pork, roasted pork, meatloaf, bread & water (w/ or w/o bubbles).Steak tartar was nicely seasoned and I actually liked it. Last and only time I have tried it was at a German restaurant in Chicago and didn't care for it. Both pork dish tasted the same, a bit dry I think. The sauce on the meatloaf made it taste good. The waiter forgot to give us our bread. We had to wait for refills on water. It wasn't busy .

We came here for lunch on a weekend and was able to get in for the last seating around 1:30pm. From the outside, this place looks like just a butcher shop but there is a nice seating area upstairs. They also have a different restaurant across the street. We had to wait for our seating and they put out bread, wine, and meats for us to enjoy while waiting. They were not skimping in this arena!Once seated, there are really only 2 menu options. For 10 euro, you get hamburger, potatoes, onions, and bread. The meat is pretty raw though. Oh ya, did I mention this place is right up my alley, meat only! For 20 euro, you get a steak and pork tartare, pork roasted garlic, meatloaf and bread. Our party of 4 got one of each plate and we all tried everything and it was enough food.My favorite was the ground beef and beef tartare. The quality and freshness are abound and the seasoning was right on, not too much, not too little. There were many tourists here and the service was excellent. A definite must try!
