Casual steakhouse.
Great location. Started with deviled eggs which were topped with bacon. The burger was pretty average. The ribs were a bit sweet but enjoyed the garlic chips. I just wish they had come out hot.

My wife and I hosted an out-of-town guest to dinner at the Rockefeller Plaza location after a day of sites in midtown. We were seated promptly in a relatively good location (unfortunately, all of the window booths were taken). The lighting was a little dark, even for this type of restaurant, especially since it was still technically before dinner. We thought the menu was broad enough to fit everyone's pallet considering this is a steakhouse. We all gave high marks to the food. The steaks were cooked perfectly (as you would expect). One of us ordered a burger. It was a little odd that it was cooked as thin patties, which meant that it had to be served "well done," but I tasted a small portion and the flavors meshed very well together. The sides were cooked well, especially the asparagus. The service was actually pretty good (a little overly solicitous for my tastes, but that's no reflection on the waiter). Everything seemed very nice until near the end of the meal. Then, out of nowhere, the waiter solicited about the percentage that we were planning to provide for the tip and offered a series of options that started at 20% and went up from there. There's already backlash about the ubiquitous use of tipping kiosks and requests for tipping even when you are getting takeout. I was ready to provide a nice tip (even above the levels that the waiter was soliciting), but found the nerve of this guy really annoying!! I didn't want to make a scene in front of our guest (and my wife). So, I just scaled back my tip and probably won't go back. If this appears to be restaurant policy, they're making a HUGE mistake in my opinion.

Del Frisco's Grille is a more casual, affordable version of the Double Eagle steakhouse that's great for drinks and bites near Rockefeller Center. The lively bar has an extensive cocktail menu and generous happy hour specials. While less formal than a traditional steakhouse, they still serve high-quality steaks, seafood, and sides. The filet mignon is tender and juicy, and the crab cakes have lots of sweet lump crabmeat. The creamed spinach side is a must-order. Del Fresco's is perfect when you want the flavors of a steakhouse in a relaxed setting before a show or night out in Midtown. It gets busy, but the bartenders are fast and make a mean Old Fashioned.

We came by for dinner- with an early reservation, and we were very disappointed. I had not been here for a while because of a bad experience, but we thought we would give it another try. First, let me start by saying we came by early for dinner, and the place wasn't busy at that hour yet when we came by, but shortly after we sat down, it started to fill up. We ordered the Cobb salad since we were told it was large and we could share. We waited, which seemed like forever, to get the salad. ( no bread or butter while you wait for apps) Our waiter mentioned a few times it was coming, but after it seemed like an eternity....we asked him again if he could check ( the ah moment when that light bulb goes off), and he says I'll check. Meanwhile, since we had ordered, another couple had sat down at the table next to us- ordered two hot appetizers, got their food, and just about finished before our even cold salad arrived. Clearly, we were unhappy- the server mumbled, then they had to cut it up or some other excuse. Second, while eating our salad, a larger group sits next to us-blocks any path to reach our table in and out. We were very bewildered at how that was possible because our food or server could not get through. ( again- we are confused because when we arrived, many tables were available, and this is where they chose to sit us with our reservation) our waiter could see we were less than thrilled. Then, some other staff member came over to say oh, you need to move to another table. We thought at first- this was less than ideal as our entrees came out, and we didn't get to eat the last bites of our salad - but ok, We tried to stay positive. We followed the staff member and were placed at a high-top table by the noisy bar and the staff had to move everything to the crowded bar area high top table next to the entry door. Not very happy at this point- we were offered dessert, and this staff member would come back to " check" on us- and would bring dessert later. We never saw the other staff member again - all we saw was our bill to our noisy high-top, crowded bar table. We paid the bill and left and were not pleased with how we were treated. We will not plan on returning again. The salad was ok- entrees were nothing special, the service was terrible, and how they treat their customers was far from enjoyable. All we can say is if you want mediocre food and lousy service- enjoy.

My favorite appetizer were the crab cakes and calamari. Both were amazing. Service was excellent. We were in a rush and they took our orders immediately and food came out quick. The steak salad and Bronzino are great go to dishes.

I generally always have a great time when dining here, which is why I always come back. I bring my friends or I come alone. I came alone this time, and Sheldon was wonderful! I let him know that I just wanted to try something other than what I usually get from the menu, and he helped me choose some really delicious choices. I informed him that I'm not a big fish eater but I was interested in the fish and he said he isn't either but it is very good and he was 1000% correct! They honored my birthday rewards and my gift card, which I was thankful for. The only thing that was a bit confusing was that while waiting for the restroom, a gentleman walking by made conversation and when I mentioned I was there using my rewards he said that a slice of cake would be sent over as a treat but it never came. Maybe it wasn't passed along, or I didn't wait long enough, but I didn't see the man to point him out and I didn't want to seem like I was making up something this phantom guy told me about receiving a slice of cake so I just closed out the bill. In all, it was an enjoyable experience.

Meh. I suppose it can be recommended for its proximity to Rockefeller Center and its classic if a little worn steakhouse feel. We were greeted warmly and after some discussion seated at a table for six before our seventh arrived. I had the shaved steak sandwich which was essentially "steakums" on a hotdog bun. The meat was moist and was recognizable as steak so it didn't need the ketchup or the Au jus they supplied on the side. It came with a very small and uninspired side salad although the creamy dressing had a nice spicy flavor. My friends had Cobb salads, steak salads and a hamburger. I think my sandwich was the loser. The waiter never came by to refill water or ask if we needed anything. I suppose if we ordered steaks and bottles of wine we would have more attention. So many better choices in midtown!

Good location, we had the rib eye steak with bone and truffle butter, side orders of asparagus and Brussels sprouts, we had the crab cake I didn't get a good picture we ate it so fast lol. The drinks and service were amazing our waitress Thai was super nice and made sure we were good. Definitely coming back and seeing Thai I hope.

Phenomenal steaks!! My wife and I visited from Texas for Valentines Day dinner, the steaks were cooked to perfection (6 and 8 ounce filets) and the sides were equally outstanding!! We ordered the deviled eggs for an appetizer and they were full of flavor and none were overwhelming or bad. As a Texas steak guy, these steaks were top 3 in my life!! Nicholas was our server and it was a superb dining experience!
Be the first to ReplyThe food was AMAZING! The prices are reasonable.
Our server was fantastic. I picked a 3 out of 5 stars because the host guy seating people was super rude to us. They open at 11 am and we arrived about 11:30. They were not busy. He told us he would give us a table but only until 1:15. As if we shouldn't be there. He made frequent trips by our table to check our eating progress. We were done by 12:15 because the service was so fast! Again, amazing food and the ambience was lovely.

We started out at the bar with some cocktails, which were generous with the %. We proceeded to sit at the table in the corner with the couch. I had the steak sandwich which the waiter recommended. I was also in the mood to try something new - and dipping the sandwich in the gravy sounded amazing. The presentation of the sandwich was nice, and the oily aroma made my taste buds go crazy. The sandwich itself was OK. I thought it will be a bit more yummy and delicious however the meat was very dry, and saving it by dipping it in that sauce was the only way to enjoy it. The bread was a. little bit on the stale side, but remained fresh because it was most likely just toasted or heated up right before serving. Coffee was a nice touch after, I had a cappuccino to wrap things up. Overall it was a nice experience but I would probably get something else next time.
Be the first to ReplyI was so excited to finally try Del Frisco's.
The space is stunning - classic NY style steakhouse. I attended a party in the wine cellar, which is a very cool grotto like space. The filet mignon was so flavorful and buttery and the sear was perfect. I usually don't love potatoes au gratin but the way they made it was excellent. Even the fat asparagus were something special. Cheesecake was rich and delicious. Definitely a great spot to try for a fancy dinner!

Posh American seafood/steakhouse with a Wall Street-esq ambiance of overpriced, networking dinners. The meat is fine but the true hidden gems are the free bread and butter pecan cake dessert. $60 a dish. 3.5/5 stars as a dinner spot.

Doesn't look like much, but when I say it was everything, Yelp believe me the food was amazing. The vibe was very chill. There is a lot of action at this location for a get-together. The most impressive part was the serves, very kind, and knowledge of the menu. Even tho I had a short stay, this will be a repeat once I return to the big apple. Thanks for the awesome weekend.
Be the first to ReplyGotta get a steak when in NYC.
This was good but I have a couple considerations. Steak egg rolls are delicious and savory/crispy but very petite and can serve 2 adults as an appetizer ($18-20). Filet was good, the first time it arrived, came out fully well done, and the Server knew that so she made us cut into it and then ended up taking it back without even asking if we wanted to keep it because she knew it was over cooked. Service is great, five stars we had all the help we needed, and very kind/attentive. Wine was good, Prosecco was good. While they were making us a new steak we had some Brussels (great!) and fries (good)! when the filet came back out it was delicious but we were well underway with the rest of our meal. Great location by Rockefeller - I'll need to try again to up my experience eating....!

We came here for restaurant week only to find out that restaurant week wasn't applied on Saturdays. We come to Del Frisco all the time, but today was special for me and my friend. Having known in advance we probably wouldn't have came all the way from Long Island.
Be the first to ReplySteak: cold.
Crab cake: insultingly small. Fries: dry / hard / stale. Mushrooms: dry. Nutella bread pudding: dry. Gin & tonic: foul. All: absurdly overpriced. Feel kinda bad for the waiters. Seriously, spend ur hard earned $$ elsewhere. :(
Be the first to ReplyAwesome atmosphere.
Had the salmon and it was perfectly cooked. The bartenders served me one of the best old fashions I've had in a long time.
Be the first to ReplyThe hostess greeted us and sat us immediately even though
The hostess greeted us and sat us immediately even though we showed up a few (5-10) minutes early for our reservation. I don't remember seeing an empty table throughout our visit, so I'd definitely recommend setting a reservation if you do not want to risk waiting. Our waiter was incredible! He was so friendly and made sure that we were enjoying our food. Of course, the food was incredible. I highly recommend getting either the filet mignon or the New York strip. The truffle mac and cheese tastes as good as it sounds. I saw a table behind us got the fries and they looked so good that I had to throw in an order. Tip: dip the fries in the truffle mac and cheese. You'll thank me later. For drinks, I'd recommend getting the sangria (if you're drinking). It was a white wine and it had mint leaves. It was so pretty! I saw a lot of other patrons ordered this drink (and finished it!). I went with the cab sauv and recommend if you're a red wine drinker. My only note is that their website said they had restaurant week but when we asked the waiter, he said that it had not started yet. On the website it states that it runs from 1/17-2/5. This does not reflect anything regarding our visit which is why I did not include it in the scoring, but I know some people would probably only come for restaurant week, so I'd recommend calling first!
Be the first to ReplyService was amazing.
Andres did an excellent job! The filet was juicy and well seasoned. I recommend getting it medium. Steakhouses tend to go a little more rare than you suggest. The short rib melted in your mouth and wasn't fatty at all. The one complaint we had was the Parmesan mousse that was way too cold for the dish. Andres quickly fixed it by providing asparagus without the Parmesan mousse. Excellent service! The fish and chips was a heafty portion with five pieces of fish! Overall, excellent service and food was astounding. The place also wasn't busy at all so it was nice and quiet when we were there. Lights dimmed for the mood and left us with a really relaxing dinner experience.

Worst in the industry. Posted on a different account. Can't remember log in. But Funny Kait, how you responded to other posts with awful ratings. Yet response to mine. I'm still looking into further investigation from my experience. In the meantime, registering a 1 star.

The food and service was great here!! I took my girl here over the weekend for our 10 month celebration and the food was delicious. They had a "dinner for two" option on the menu and the selections were awesome. Definitely make a reservation though! It got pretty busy on Saturday night. It was our first time there and would definitely go back next time we have something to celebrate!

Very good experience. Ordered the Prime boneless Ribeye, Medium Rare & French Fries. The Steak was Delicious and Delicious and More Delicious. Only caveats was at first I was told I had to sit at the bar area, I mentioned I have the Landry's card so was able to get a table instead (the restaurant was not busy). Also had to ask for a Steak Knife for my steak (why????), and for extra ketchup. Not sure why they were not more generous with ketchup considering the fries are plentiful. I do think NYC should still ask for Vax Status, they sat a duo next to me toward the end of my meal and the woman was COUGHING A LOT. Luckily I was already done.

Sat down outside no problem, waitress asked me what beverage I would like to drink. As I answered maybe a Pinot Grigio she asked me if I would like this one kind and that is when I realized I have no idea which kind because I was not given a drink menu. (as I was planning on drinking an alcoholic beverage but unsure of which I wanted to have, I would've liked to see a drink menu of some sort). My boyfriend ordered his beverage as I proceeded to ask for a menu. His beer took extremely long to come and my wine as well. She also seemed very against us keeping a drink menu as we kept repeatedly asking to remove it from the table after we specified we would like to keep it. As per service we felt EXTREMELY RUSHED (on a Sunday night when not many people were there) she kept overly asking us to place our main course order. (What was the rush? I was unsure of what I wanted...) We ordered truffle Mac n cheese and shrimp cocktail to start. The truffle Mac n cheese was quite literally regular Mac n cheese. No taste of truffle what so ever. The shrimp cocktail was fine, I've had better. At this point in the evening service became horrible (still not many people here) took my boyfriend about 10 minutes to get his second beer as we watched our waitress bring drinks to other tables. Our meals came and the presentation was not it for what you would call a "steakhouse". One of us got a steak with truffle butter. The butter was practically already blended in with the oils of the steak on the plate, I ordered the fried chicken sandwich (honestly nothing else on the menu sounded appetizing) and it looked like a bare minimum fast food restaurant chicken sandwich. It was undercooked and the breading around it just came off. We also sat through the remainder of our dinner with the shrimp cocktail dish in our faces forced us to eat our meals with the scent of the ocean Everytime we took a breath. The shrimp had been eaten prior to the arrival of our meals. It should've been taken out. I have worked in the restaurant industry at restaurants at a higher status and lower status and neither would condone the way my dinner was executed. Very poor. Not returning.

The food is expensive but expectant of a steak-based restaurant. The steakhouse salad was great. I opted for the side of truffled mac n' cheese, and I'm very particular about my mac n' cheese. I stared into the soul of our waitress as I asked about the quality, and she said it was delightful. Well, delightful it was. Crunchy on top, creamy in the middle. Strongly recommend for anyone around 30 Rock in NYC.
