What a wonderful surprise and great Indian food!! We decided to eat there because of the ratings here on Yelp. It didn't look like much, just some local Indian eatery. The first time we went, couldn't even get in! So we made reservations for the following night. Oh my God, it was so much better than I expected. The food was wonderful. Some of the best Indian food I've eaten since I was in India 15 years ago. Also, if you have peanut allergies (like I do), there are many dishes they can make without the peanuts. And they're careful about cross contaminating dishes. I had absolutely no problem. The restaurant staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. If you eat dinner, I recommend making reservations. Lunch may well be the same way, so again, I recommend giving them a call. It is worth it. Wonderful food and a good staff in a small & delicious local Indian eatery.

We stopped here for a quick dinner on my last night in Melbourne. It was cold and rainy outside. The restaurant was full of people and there were a couple of small tables outside. The place is not large but seems to use space efficiently. The girl at the counter said we could sit outside or, if we wanted there was a table for two that we could have for 45 minutes inside. We sat inside, ordered quickly and we're served quickly as well. The food was really tasty and we finished in about 46 minutes, not really feeling rushed, but they definitely wanted the table back for the reservation. We had the chaat platter and mixed grill... to get a sampling of their offerings in our limited time. The tandoori chicken was really excellent.I suggest making a reservation. Also, my cell phone had just about zero reception once we hit the small alley where this place is located, so be aware if you're trying to meet someone there.
Be the first to Replytasty Indian food but very small portions.
I got the chicken tikka tandoori and there were only a couple small pieces of meat for $16. My friend had the bhel puri, samosa chaat, and mango lassi and enjoyed everything but found the food to be a little too spicy.

We discovered this place because it was near our hotel and we were sure glad we did. In two nights we tried 5 different curries, an Indian pizza and 2 appetizers. Most everything was wonderful and a couple just really good. A word of advice, since it is a small place and very popular call ahead for a booking.

As an Indian myself, was looking forward to the food. When I reached at 7:30 pm on a Friday, was promptly told that no seating is available without reservations (despite the fact that multiple tables were open). Wife and I decided to get take out instead. Prices are higher than shown on the pictures; understandable for any small business to increase prices once they develop a customer base. We were surprised that our food (Butter chicken thali and paneer dosa) was ready in less than 10 minutes. Still empty tables inside. We decided to eat outside on the stone steps like another group of 6 people. Food was neatly packaged but surprised by the little butter chicken and sambar relative to the naan/rice and paneer dosa respectively. Literally, the restaurant filled the two smallest containers with butter chicken relative to the mid sized container which had masala onions and mango pickle achar. We finished the butter chicken and sambar, left with plain rice and remaining dry dosa. Fortunately, the bird patiently waiting next to us had a healthy serving of plain rice. Walked by the restaurant while leaving and still empty tables. Still hungry (despite both my wife and I being less than 130 lbs!), we grabbed a gyro from around the corner. Finally, want to clarify the definition of a thali. Thali is used to refer to an Indian-style meal made up of a selection of VARIOUS dishes which are served on a platter... Serving butter chicken by itself is not a thali.Good food but waste of time and money.

It was very close to the Holiday Inn we were staying in. We had bhel puri, paav bhaaji and chicken franky. It was all very tasty and the portions were large. The place is small, but attracts diverse patrons. It is also well decorated with posters of famous Bollywood movies from the Golden era till the recent recent releases, similar to Kati Roll in New York. The staff was very diligent and friendly.

Quite standard indian food in a restaurant that feels like it's trying a bit too hard to create a niche when there really isn't one. Didnt quite get the aesthetic they were aiming for. That said the food was not too bad. Seating for groups was a bit limited; service was alright.

Got the butter chicken thali and it was delicious! Good bang for buck and the portion sizes are above average. Nice, modern Indian ambiance (remixed classic music with many movie posters painted onto the wall). We had a seat right in front of the kitchen glass and it was cool to see everything being made. Those naan pizzas looked SO good - maybe next time. A lot of gluten-free options here, as well. It is a smaller place, so seating is a bit limited.

Loved this place! We waited half an hour to get a table for 2 people and it was so worth it! Cheap food and everything had stacks of flavour. There was different stuff on the menu as well as what you would probably expect. I wish I lived closer I would definitely go back! Yum!!!

The food was awesome and flavours were authentic for each dish! We had the 3 thali and Biryani! Down side was it was stone cold! Might be deliveroo but seems it sat for a very long time somewhere given we are only 1km away. Still very tasty thanks to the microwave. Will eat in next time.

I loved the modern/fusion twist on traditional and street food from India. The menu is vast with numerous street food and curry options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Portions are HUGE and prices are very reasonable. We ordered the bhel puri, samosa chat, aloo tikki chat, mixed grill, chole and puri, and the aloo tikki wrap. All of it was delicious and flavorful!! The only miss was the wrap- I would skip that and get the tikki chat instead. My only complaints are related to the restaurant size. It's extremely tiny and all of the tables are packed so closely together. There wasn't much space to squeeze into the booth side and you could hear all the conversations of the people next to you.The food also came out sporadically. Two people in our group were done eating before food for the others even came out.
