Bland last time bland this time.
LUNCH: Thought we would give Din Tai Fung another go in a different country. How wrong were we! Bland last time bland this time. Should’ve just gone to HK for real food. Best dish was the spinach & garlic then the hot & sour soup. Going back to American culture tomorrow 🇺🇸.
Be the first to ReplyNever Again! Terrible
I am at a complete loss as to why there are so many good reviews. The food is almost unrecognizable as dim sum, it is so bad. The individual pieces were stuck together with a glue-like starchy coating and filled with flavorless balls of something. We threw most of it away and had to find another restaurant after paying their inflated prices. Shockingly, due to the crowds of people who have apparently never tasted real dim sum before, we had to wait over 40 minutes for this inedible trash.
Be the first to ReplyWorst dim sum ever
The dim sum at this restaurant is awlful. We have had dim sum in San Francisco, Portland and Vancouver and have had consistently excellent dim sum in these cities. We have had much better frozen pork buns from Costco than what we had from this restaurant. Incredibly we had to wait 30 minutes for the order on a weekday for lunch.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent restaurant with delicious food at reasonable prices with great service
We had a fantastic lunch experience here. The menu was very good and the food was delicious. We shared selections across our eight family members and everyone was satisfied with each dish. The service was great and the atmosphere relaxed
Be the first to ReplyGood food, Great service
Had lunch here with friends and the food was good and the service was excellent. Although it was only three of us, we ordered multiple dishes to share and our servers didn't seem at all bothered to keep bringing food to our table. The food was good, we had both meat and vegan since one of my friends is a "vegen" and all the dishes were delicious. We had a noon reservation and didnt have a wait to be seated, which I recommend since it can get very busy. One thing I like about this restaurant is that the food is made fresh. No frozen dumplings or canned broths.
Be the first to ReplySome of the best Dim Sum I had outside of Asia
I spend a lot of time in Asia and had my fair share of Dim Sum as I just love it. This is at the same level as I tasted before. The variation is exceptional, great quality and just yummy. It is essential to make a reservation if you are planning to go on a weekend otherwise you will wait for a very long time. It is in a shopping mall but that is not an issue at all. But I do think considering the ambiente, the price for a dinner is a bit high. However with that said, the service was outstanding and nothing to complain. It is just a very large place creating a feeling of eating in a cafeteria. Nevertheless I will visit this place again and can highly recommend it.

OUTSTANDING food. The servers were absolutely amazing & the dessert was just the cherry on top. Great location!
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding
This a Great restaurant. Everything about it is first class the food, service and atmosphere. The dishes were prepared with high quality and fresh ingredients. We tried so many different items. Since small plates let yourself go and order some things you don't know what they are. You will not be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplySoup Dumplings!
I highly suggest you make a reservation. We were lucky and waited only 30 minutes to sit in the bar area, but there was a 2 hour wait to get a table. The sweet & sour pork baby back ribs just fell off the bone; Kurobuta pork xiao long bao (soup dumplings) are worth all the hype! Wish we would have ordered more of those! The Shrimp & kurobuta pork wontons and dumplings were both delicious also. We didn't care for the chicken or pork buns as much as the other items we sampled. Would definitely return for the soup dumplings!
Be the first to ReplyXiao Long Bao!
Whenever we are in CA or somewhere in Southeast Asia, we always go to Din Tai Fung for the xiao long bao (soup dumplings). They make them so good! Of course they also have the pork chops and fried rice which are also great.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing delicious Chinese 🇨🇳 dumplings from Taiwan 🇹🇼 using best 🇯🇵 pork Kurobuta
AMAZING !!! Just like being back to Hong Kong 🇭🇰 where Din Tai Fung 🇹🇼 have the one star ⭐️ Michelin. Taste of the dumplings 🥟 are so genuine using best Japanese 🇯🇵 pork kurobuta. The spicy wonton dumplings could directly come from Shanghai 🇨🇳. And keep room for deserts!!!

So good! It never disappoints! We went on a Thursday at lunch and only waited 20 minutes! We were thrilled to dine at one of our favorite Los Angeles restaurants!
Be the first to ReplyReally good Asian cuisine
Really good Asian cuisine and a lovely atmosphere. The wait staff were very helpful. First time there and will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyCrowded, long lines, poor organization, cold food
After being told they dont take reservations, I was advised it would be only 15 minutes. When my phone buzzed from a text 30 min later, I was told they were behind and go wait in the lobby. Finally seated, a new waiter came by not too sure of the menu.
After the food started arriving, it was obviously pre-prepared and arrived cold. Since we were on a timeline for lunch, we couldn't ask for a new one and just kept it.
Over priced for the very small portions, Long wait, and disorganized to handle the crowds, I probably won't be going back. This is the 4th DTF I've been to around the world, and without a doubt the one I prefer least.
nice Chinese restaurant for some delicious dumplings
The restaurant is inside the Westfield Century City mall.
There are other locations in Southern California and the wait is usually well over 1 hour.
We were lucky and only waited 20 minutes.
The kitchen area is visible to the public and it is very interesting to see how authentic Chinese dumplings are made and how much work goes into them.
Consequently, the food can get pricey but the quality is very high.
This is a great place to grab a snack and try out various dumpling creations as well as other authentic Chinese food.
This place does a great job of demystifying the old stereotype that Chinese food is mostly fast-food.
Good Dumplings
Large restaurant and feels a little like a large cafeteria so don’t expect atmosphere here.... Food comes as it’s ready. As you sit down you are given a menu with pictures and a paper like at a sushi restaurant where you fill it out yourself. Few of the items didn’t have identical names and it was a bit confusing as no one explained anything to us.
We ordered a few different dishes and they were just ok. The best dish was by far the dumplings in the hot sauce as it had lots of flavor, mildly spicy and full of garlic. Service was ok, not too friendly and not very efficient, seems as though lots of tables were dirty and were not cleaned fast enough. I would only be back if I
Wanted some dumplings...
Amazing, authentic, Dumplings, Etc.
I cannot say enough good about this food and restaurant. The juicy pork dumplings are a must have-- 10 savory dumplings with juicy pork, nibble the end off and either let juice into spoon to cool a bit a drink or suck it out. Them dip dumpling into your made to spiciness sauce and die from joy.
We were in a group yesterday, so ordered A LOT to taste LOTS. Chicken dumpling were fabulous. Shrimp and pork , dumplings, amazing, and used the sauce with our pork fried rice to make even more delicious, giant pork buns, delicious. I can never eat enough green beens. The chocolate dumpling and taro dumplings for dessert were tasty and delicious. Service was outstanding . Value excellent. Cannot say enough about this restaurant. Have now eaten in ones in Taiwan, Middle East, Glendale and now LA. Consistent high quality through out all locations -- and service as well.
