We liked this restaurant a lot. Is wonderful and friendly staff. Much choice, also gluten free options on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyAirport Dim Sum
Located in the Jewel Shopping complex at Changi Airport. We have been to a couple of other locations in other countries. This location is not a fine dining location but more a mid-range shopping mall dim sum restaurant. From booking a table to ordering from the menu - it is all done using your smartphone. There were a few people near us who were struggling to book a table (they couldn't read the instructions) or they were seniors and were not tech-savvy. As for the dim sum. It is pretty good but it is also very pricey for what you get. Whether it was their pork shumai, shrimp dumplings, or their crab dim sum, all were very good but there was sticker shock when we got the bill. We probably will not go back to this location again but we will try a different location.

We visited DTF for an early dinner and we were third in the queue before the 17:30 dinner service. Strategically placed as the first restaurant you see, the restaurant does become busy. Quick and efficient greetings and we were seated immediately at a generously sized table for the pair of us which was lovely. Orders are taken via QR code on the table and then you show your QR to the waitress who will confirm your order and return with a receipt for later. Very efficient if you know what youโre wanting. I can only compare this DTF to London and I did find this branch lacked drinks options. Prices seemed similar to London but Iโm not sure if we paid an airport premium compared to other Singapore branches. We ordered the chicken wings to start and they came fresh from the fryer coated in a fragrant marinade, delicious. We ordered 10 classic pork XLB which were wonderful as expected, juicy and palatable. Vegetarian dumplings were slightly different to the UK counterparts and I found to lack flavour. The house noodles and pork chop are a must, soft meat and bouncy noodles. We finished with 3 of the custard bao which were a perfect end to the meal. I did find the food came out very staggered which was okay but often finished one dish before another arrived, to prevent it going cold. This meant it felt like a dinner of multiple courses than dim sum. I cannot fault the kindness and efficiency of the staff. Friendly and welcoming. We were only seated for just over an hour but didnโt feel rushed. Overall it was a pleasant visit to DTF.

I have eaten in many of this reliable chainโs restaurants, however this was awful. It took 30 mins to get a table and when we were seated and wanted to order all chicken dishes were off the menu except for the chicken soup. We do not eat pork or shellfish so our choices were very limited. Perhaps we should have gone somewhere else, but having had good experiences before, we stayed. The restaurant was short staffed and the service slow Eventually we received some stir fried pak Choi Nothing else for several minutes Then we got rice, again nothing more for several minutes We then got our chicken soup which was absolutely tasteless with a few pieces of bony chicken and very little meat. Our vegetable dim sum never arrived and when I complained about the soup I was told this is how we like it. Will not be going back Poor poor poor I told the manager

Long que specially on lunch time, it takes us almost an 45 mins to get seated, when its our turn, it takes another 45 mins to serve the food, the bad side is, then serve the food one by one, and then xao long bao last! Its so disappointing that they serve the rice first, then the desert then the main dish, and last the xao long bao!!! Its just different from philippines din tai fung, they make sure to serve in order of needโฆ. Philippines din tai fung has a lot of options and more yummy, dont order their chicken wings, it taste awfulโฆ

DTF very strategically placed, on the right if you enter through T3 on the MRT, first restaurant you see. Large dining area, at 12.30am no queues yet. Can order electronically so service quick. We ordered the signature Xiao long bao, good but by the time we finished our la mian bit cold in the steamer so not as delicious as it would have been piping hot, our own fault, not the restaurant's. The hot sauce la mian, one with minced pork not as chilli- hot as expected so had to ask for the fiery chilli sauce but no complaint with my companion's l mushroom la mian, both very smooth and slippery, nicely-presented in its folds. No water or tea served unless you order and pay for these, Zappy napkins to be paid for too, they don't supply paper napkins. Quick and satisfactory lunch, at least you know their reliable standard of food, didn't feel like trying the newer restaurants along the strip, not sure of quality.
