Every single cocktail we had here was so unique and flavorful! Our party of 8 (max they allow) was able to get a table on friday evening because one of our friends waited in line since 3:30pm before they open at 5. The group consensus seemed to be that the Key Lime Pie and Japanese cold noodle were the best cocktails. Their chicken sandwiches are also pretty good!
Be the first to ReplyThe most interesting and unique drinks I've had at a bar.
Would definitely recommend, even if you're not that into alcoholic drinks. I had a reservation on a Friday night for The Coop at 11:30PM. Even so, we waited approximately 10 minutes to be seated. I'm not big into cocktails or alcoholic drinks, but I absolutely love the concept of styling their cocktails after food. The Key Lime Pie is delicious and I ordered it multiple times. The Cold Pizza drink was interesting, as the tomato flavor was a really light and slightly fragrant. I think the team at DCP team knocked it out of the park with the way they use ingredients to simulate some of the tastes from the different foods. We also ordered the Hojicha Pudding which was so delicious. DCP really excelled in all aspects for me. The ambiance is sleek and trendy, there's tasty finger foods and small bites, along with more filling chicken sandwiches, paired with really unique cocktails. If you're looking to switch it up from the typical bars & alcoholic drinks, consider trying this place out.

We finally secured a resy for DCP and we're so excited! The drinks -KEY LIME PIE 10/10 a must try and fan favorite, tastes just like the name -PIZZA 3/10 tastes like watered down tomato juice -MANGO STICKY RICE 2/10 tastes like syrup & old fashioned, nothing like mango sticky rice, really strong drink -COLD SOBA NOODLES 9/10 refreshing! The food -HOT HONEY SANDWICH 10/10 the sauce makes this so yummy, chicken is juicy, pretzel bun holds up well -SALTED EGG YOLD SANDWICH 7/10 love the sauce but needs more, bun is a regular bun -POPCORN CHICKEN 8/10 yummy and flavorful but for the cost i could get 2 orders at Vivi popcorn chicken and those taste bomb too The service -our waitress was so nice -we were taking pics of the food so our light was bright and a staff rudely told us that we were shining the light into people's eyes but like so were other people The ambiance -dark vibes Overall, glad we got to try this popular place at least once but since it's so hard to get a resy and limited to 2 hours.. not sure we need to come back. We also ordered everything on the menu that we wanted to try
Be the first to ReplyI could eat here 10x and if still be thrilled.
The drinks? Off the chain good. The chicken? Phenomenal. The service? Dope AF. Just go, friend, thank me later
Be the first to ReplyDouble Chicken Please has been the talk of many towns, and
Double Chicken Please has been the talk of many towns, and I had been quite curious since I watched their Eater video on Youtube. Great story and intent behind the business, but I never really considered going out of my way to fight for a reservation, especially because I had been curious about the Coop, rather than the front room. I was in the neighborhood and decided to see how long the wait was for a spot. We were waiting for the front room (which I believe is walk-in only) but got very lucky as they said there was a last minute 2 person spot open in the Coop. Great interior design, definitely a sexy and sleek atmosphere. The seating is low and some spots cushy if I remember correctly, making it a great for a date or place to start off a longer night out. I opted for the Japanese Cold Noodle cocktail. The flavors of this cocktail aren't as adventurous as some of the others on the menu, but I will say I was impressed with how balanced it was. This is a cocktail bar you can go to and feel satiated by just the drink itself which I find to be a rarity.

WOW! This place was phenomenal! My friend was able to snag a reservation and we were seated very promptly. I will say the tables are quite small and close together, but I didn't mind that. I absolutely LOVED the Japanese Cold Noodle and the Key Lime Pie. The Japanese Cold Noodle was savory with a smooth after notes of the sesame oil. The Key Lime Pie was such a great note to end on! It's sweet and with a little zest to it, just like an actual key lime pie. The Waldorf, French Toast, and Mango Sticky Rice were all fine as well, but just not for me. I found the 3 of them to be either too rich or too sweet. Even though I was looking forward to the drinks the most, the hot honey chicken sandwich blew me away. It's an absolute unit of a sandwich and might be the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. I most definitely would go back again for both the food and drinks.
Be the first to ReplyOur group of 6 were able to get a reservation for the back
Our group of 6 were able to get a reservation for the back room for a Friday night, and we were all looking forward to it! Thankfully we had resy's or else the line would've been at least an hour wait. We were seated immediately, both the front and back rooms are extremely loud and crowded. Our waiter explained to us the concept of the drinks menu (what DCP is known for) where the first row is appetizer-themed drinks, then main course, and finally dessert. I got the Japanese cold noodles mocktail and it was so delicious and refreshing! By the way, it's a one drink minimum per person rule. Most of their drinks taste exactly how they sound like. Highly recommend getting the popcorn chicken which was so tender, crispy and flavorful and the cucumber salad was a great addition too. Everyone got a sandwich whether it was the hot honey or mochi donut, and all of them were stuffed with 2-3 layers of chicken pieces. I did feel that the drinks were over priced at $20 per tiny cocktail glass. Our total came out to be over $450 including a mandatory 20% gratuity for party of 6+. Overall, it was a good one time experience.
Be the first to ReplyI have heard about how difficult it is to get into DCP.
I was not able to secure a reservation, so my friend and I lined up 30 minutes before the store opened and were near the front of the line. They opened right at 5PM and we were one of the first to be seated in the back room. We were told that we would have two hours and they were very strict with the timing (we were kicked out right at 7PM). First thing I noticed were the great vibes. Not super pretentious but not a dive either. Tables were close together but I still had some room to breathe. My friend and I ordered two cocktails each and a bunch of food. While not everything was a winner, I think they deserve credit for having some really interesting and creative flavors and ideas. My favorite drink was probably the Japanese Cold Noodle which was really well-balanced and refreshing. I loved the hint of sesame oil. We also ordered popcorn chicken and got to try the famous Mochi Donut chicken sandwich. I was hesitant about the sandwich since I am not a big fan of sweets but I think this was surprisingly nice. The sweetness of the donut was cut by the spice of the habanero and it all somehow worked. I do think it overall lived up to the hype and I am excited to come back again to try some more creative food and drinks!
Be the first to ReplyMy boyfriend and I wanted to see what the hype was about
My boyfriend and I wanted to see what the hype was about and came without a reservation. Unfortunately got there right at 5pm opening time and there was a already a line for first come first serve. We waited in line for an hour trying to get into the coop unfortunately we didn't get in and happened to be a 2 hour wait vs a 15min wait for the front room. Needless to say opted for the front room and will have to return to try their fun cocktails! Food: Cucumbers: 10/10 they had a perfect crunch and were super refreshing highly recommend to start off the meal popcorn chicken: 10/10 flavor was awesome very addicting and great snack paired with cocktails Hot honey sandwich: 10/10 this was our favorite the sauce with this sandwich the crunch and juiciness of the chicken was amazing. Duck yolk sandwich: 8/10 solely bc we preferred the hot honey but great flavor and crunch as well Pudding: 9/10 deep flavor was smooth and filling. Personal opinion only - I just wish it had a bit more texture with it but was very good. If you're looking to grab cocktails on tap and yummy food front room is awesome cool vibes the servers are very attentive. Though if you can snag a seat in the coop looked very cool and the cocktails looked so good! Will be coming back for food plus to try the coop!
Be the first to ReplyProbably one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had.
Hot honey sandwich was amazing - flavorful with a really crispy/juicy chicken. Didn't have a reservation but the wait in line wasn't bad. Sat in the front room but was ok with that. Get a reservation beforehand if you want to sit in the back. Ambiance was nice, front room vibe was more casual. Didn't go to the back room so not sure what it's like.
Be the first to ReplyI am utterly confused by the popularity of this place.
The chicken sandwiches were incredibly underwhelming, messy and sloppily put together with overwhelming flavors and chicken that wasn't crispy, the cocktail was very mid and overpriced. The bread tasted stale. I've had better chicken sandwiches literally everywhere else. I sat in the front room and tried two of the sandwiches and the cucumbers. This whole experience was mid. I wouldn't seek this place out let alone wait in line for it.
Be the first to ReplyThe manager is incredibly rude and argumentative.
The service is slow and there's no care for the guest. We therefore didn't leave a tip and the manager got very hostile with us and argumentative saying we didn't belong in a place like this. They didn't once refill our water or check on us. The drinks were weak and wait were not worth the hype.
Be the first to ReplyI'm obsessed cause this place gets better and better each
I'm obsessed cause this place gets better and better each time I come. The drinks are really the star even though their chicken sandwiches are also top tier. My favorite drink is the key lime pie bc you can taste literal pie crust in the drink (idk how) plus it tastes nothing like alcohol (and I know people say this all the time at other bars and they're lowkey lying bc it does taste like alc but I'm dead serious this time). However, I have also really loved the french toast, cold pizza, and japanese soba noodle. Mango sticky rice was good too but tasted stronger than the others I listed. In terms of chicken sandwiches, I've loved both the hot honey and salted egg yolk equally. Popcorn chicken is a little more generic but still fire bc of their 5 spice seasoning. Mochi donut sandwich is a hit or miss depending on the person I think. Tbh I think the flavors worked together despite how eccentric it may look but I wouldn't order it again. Vibes and decor are also on point! It's so hard to get a reservation so each time I've lined up before opening to get a walk in spot for the back room, which has worked with smaller parties but failed with a party of 6 since the tables are limited and there weren't enough bar seats.
Be the first to ReplyDouble Chicken Please is currently doing reservations only
Double Chicken Please is currently doing reservations only on Resy, and I highly recommend doing a reservation before coming. On their website they mentioned that walk-ins are welcomed. However, if you do walk-in there is two sectors of the restaurant, the front room and the back room. If you partake in the walk in option, chances are you'll probably be sitting in the front room. The menu from the front room in the back room are different and you are going to select from a limited menu when you are ordering in the front. I came on a Wednesday at 5:30 PM and was told that the wait time would be around 4 hours. Being advised of the wait time we decided to dine on the front room since there were seats available. Please note that my review is based on my experience while dinning in the front room. All the cocktail drinks are served on tap, but overall still yummy. While sitting in the front you are unable to order the drinks in the back menu (how I wanted to try the mango sticky rice - name of a drink). We had the cucumbers which was really refreshing, very common squash cucumbers. What really set them apart is the drinks and from their name you guessed, their chicken sandwiches. We order their salted egg yolk chicken sandwiches, which were amazing. Hot, and savory, crunchy juicy chicken sandwich!! Will come back again. Environment is relaxed, the only reason this was a four star instead of a five is due to the spacing between each other in the front. While dine in the front room, other people were waiting inside for their seats, this causes a line outside and people bumping into us while we were eating.
Be the first to ReplyAnother member of my top five spots to get craft cocktails
Another member of my top five spots to get craft cocktails in the nation was awarded to the legendary Double Chicken Please. I have waited hours to get into this establishment, both the front and back experiences. Their cocktail taps upfront and cocktail offerings in the back are out of this world. Our feast included the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwiches [buttermilk, thai basil], a Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich on a Mochi Donut [buttermilk, thai basil], Popcorn Chicken [ginger, white pepper, five spice], Koji Cucumbers [shio kombu, sesame, thai chili] and the cocktails I focused on this time out were the NY Beet Salad [Bombay Sapphire, beet, pineapple, cranberry, mascarpone, yogurt], French Toast [Grey Goose, roasted barley, brioche, coconut, milk, maple syrup, egg], and a Japanese Cold Noodle [Bacardi Superior, pineapple, cucumber, coconut, lime, sesame oil]. That popcorn chicken was the best I've ever had! I learned from my coworker how common a box of that full flavored animal candy is in Chinese convenient stores. My mouth just started watering again thinking of it. Trust me when I say their cocktails taste EXACTLY like their simple names. Fight your way to get in if you can. Pro tip, if you want something completely unique, the owner is always up for a challenge. I'd trust her to make my last sip of medicine on earth.
Be the first to ReplyAn amazing bar that is getting attention around the world.
Voted #6 bar in the world in a short time since they first opens says a lot. My friend raved about this place and I didn't believe him until I went myself and tried it out. Their hot honey chicken sandwich is one of the best chicken sandwich I ever had! Yes, it's better than Popeyes and Chik-Fil-A (sorry not sorry) Their backroom cocktails are unique and amazing. The names of the cocktail confused me a bit but once the bartender explained the meaning, it made sense. We had 5 cocktail drinks and a DCP shot. If I have to give my favorites, it would be the NY Beet Salad and Japanese Cold Noodle. As strange as the names sound, it is really good. The staffs are awesome, friendly and bartenders are equally the same. They know their drinks and it was enjoyable watching them make the drinks (sat at the counter) Definately reserve as soon as possible! Reservations gets filled up quickly. There is a wait outside for the front area serving cocktails on tap (and offers food too) Overall, I would absolutely come back, as long as I get through Resy!

Great vibes, but Make a res! If you can't, then you better get your butt in line before they open and hope for the best. Really fun and creative drinks and the food (all the food) is great to absorb all the alcohol you'll want to drink because the cocktail list is so intriguing it's hard to choose!

A popular spot with fantastic cocktails and a visually appealing atmosphere. It's worth noting that due to its popularity, without a reservation, there might be a long wait to get a seat, but if you're willing to wait, the cocktails are said to be delicious and plentiful. If you look at the menu, there are three tiers of cocktails they will recommend you try. Every cocktail is named after a dish. The first row is more like an "appetizer". It's smooth, not too strong, and you can finish it in a short time. It can kinda get your taste buds up. The second row is like a "main entry". It's a lot stronger than the first row. It has more of an aftertaste. You need to take your time to taste it. The final row is the "dessert". It has a few sweet or sour options depending on what you like. Overall, if you're looking for a trendy spot with great cocktails in Chinatown, this bar might be worth a visit.
Be the first to ReplyPSA - get reservations and go to the back room.
This is where you get access to the premium drinks. The front room is where the walk in line gets to go and it's only pre-mixed from tap cocktails. That said the cocktails are good but not great, the food is great, and the staff are super. From a craft cocktail enthusiast I would have skipped the front room though and waited until I could have got the full experience.
Be the first to ReplyWanted to love this place but honestly fell a little flat.
The vibes and ambiance are really great - super unique mix of quirky and fun, but also modern and put together, and the drinks were pretty decent, but the food wasn't my favorite. For drinks, we ordered the key lime pie, Japanese cold noodle, and mango sticky rice. All of them were pretty sweet. Key lime pie was definitely my favorite, nice and tangy and didn't taste like alcohol at all. The mango sticky rice didn't really taste like mango, and had a pretty strong coffee/tea flavor. The Japanese cold noodle was unexpectedly very sweet, and really just tasted like cucumber syrup to me.For food, we ordered the hot honey and mochi donut chicken sandwiches. For the hot honey, the actual chicken was decent and well fried, but the bun was so cold and felt stale and not toasted. The mochi donut sandwich was a lot of different flavors at the same time, and felt a little too overwhelming. It had potential, but I thought it was overpowered by sweetness, and wasn't that well balanced. It was also pretty hard to eat since it was so tall. Overall, vibes and drinks are definitely solid, but was disappointed by the chicken sandwiches.

Double Chicken Please, definitely lives up to the hype!My friend and I go their at about 4:30 to stand in line, they open at 5. Once it came to 5pm it took us about 5 minutes to get in with 8 seatings ahead of us. Reservations are recommended though. The Hot honey chicken sandwich and popcorn chicken are wonderful. Its very crispy, delicious, and flavorful. Its fried to perfection. The drinks hold upon to the chicken as well. You can grow long with any of the drinks. They are divided into three section of drinks; Apps, Entrees, Desserts. You can have one with each course.

After weeks of monitoring Resy for open reservations, I was elated to get a Sunday night reservation at Double Chicken Please's backroom. Sadly, the experience did not live up to my expectations and we shortly "flew the coop" after arriving. I appreciated the quirky, yet classy and warm, ambiance. The drinks were also creative ("Cold Pizza" anyone?). Unfortunately, the pours were extremely weak, even though we ordered double alcohol. Furthermore, don't fall into the false scarcity advertised by the menu regarding the Popcorn Chicken, which can be ordered "while supplies last" (or some similar wording). The snack was mainly deep-fried crumbs, with a tiny amount of chicken. Overall, we had an average experience at Double Chicken Please. We hope that the restaurant takes note of our asks for Double Drinks and Double Chicken Please!
Be the first to ReplyUnfortunately, Double Chicken Place was underwhelming.
Maybe I got my hopes up too high by watching all the Youtube videos and reading all the articles, but I left feeling disappointed. Before you even think of eating at the Back Room (Craft cocktails), set an alarm for 11:55pm a week before you want to dine. From 11:55pm - midnight, keep refreshing the page. As soon as you see a reservation available, take it immediately. The entire night will will booked within 15-20 seconds. If you want the front room (Different cocktails on tap only), be prepared to line up outside before the restaurant even opens. This place is THAT popular. The drinks are very innovative and unique. You won't get a cocktail like these anywhere else. Unfortunately we did not really love the cocktails - Japanese Cold Noodle is very complex (in a good way) with a lot of flavors, but they didn't feel like they tasted good all together. French Toast was really good, and the DCP oreo garnish tastes great as well. Mango Sticky Rice and Red Eye Gravy were okay, Key Lime Pie was pretty goodI don't quite understand the hype behind the sandwiches. The Hot Honey had a tasty basil-based spread, but it was just alright. You could get better chicken sandwiches pretty easily. The popcorn chicken appetizer was actually the best thing we ate. It had a seasoning on it that was really savoryIf I came here for a normal dinner & drinks, I think I would have liked it. Unfortunately it was hyped up so much and I came in with high expectations that weren't met

Unique cocktails in the Back Room! It was definitely worth the wait and we were lucky to make it in on a Friday night. My personal favorite was Japanese Cold Noodle and Key Lime Pie cocktails.

Came here at opening time (5pm) and there were people waiting already, but we still got to choose the back room or front - we chose the back! The difference: the back room has special cocktails and the front has cocktails on tap. Both have the famous chicken sandwiches. I LOOOOOOOOVE their chicken sandwiches. Tried the salted egg yolk ($16) and the hot honey ($16) and they were both amazing. Fried to perfection. I would come back just for the sandwiches.I got the "mango sticky rice" cocktail and it was definitely unique. They name their cocktails after food items that tells you how light or sweet or heavy they are. I would like to come back and try "Japanese cold noodle"...
