Eaten at various restaurants & disappointed with their karaage chicken & Spider Roll. Hairy claws masqueraded in tempura is disgusting. Not even Popeyes Chicken cooks their thighs in such DIRTY oil. This one hour drive is NOT worth it. Highly recommend Anaba Sushi in Oxnard- NO COMPARISON.

Our experience here was delightful, food was great and service was even better! Also, the restaurant was such a nice homey vibe. Highlight of our trip to Santa Barbara.
Plenty of protein for the price.
Fish is also fresh. Very nice service, the people are friendly!

We walked in last night and waited for 15 minutes before someone asked if we had been helped. We said no, and that we were looking to dine in for 2. The woman scrambled around asking her coworkers if there was a waitlist. She then said it would be a 45 minute wait. There were 5 open seats at the bar. I asked if we could sit there and she said no, theres a party of 2 and a party of 3 on the waitlist. While we waited in line when we first got there, a party of 2 was sat at the bar without consulting a wait list. Then, a customer waiting for his takeout order went back and forth with a worker asking if he could sit at the bar and drink a beer. She initially said no because they had to keep the seats open for people walking in and ordering food. But then she let him sit there, while we were still standing waiting. Very interesting how all of a sudden when we want to dine in there is a wait list and the 5 open seats at the bar needed to be kept available. But when I called earlier they said no reservations. Where were those waiting parties? We were there for 15 minutes and there was only a larger party waiting for a table. We didn't argue we just accepted our defeat and left. As we walked out the woman laughed at us and said it's valentines day. Absolutely terrible customer service.
This place currently has an average review of 3.
5 stars, and based on the Nabeyaki Udon I got as takeout, I would say that is accurate. The broth was really good, but not all of the other ingredients were good. Notable items that reduced the quality of the dish: a chicken bone shard, some overly-tough lotus root and/or bamboo chunks, and a slightly unpleasant-tasting (overcooked?) egg. I will stick with Sushiya and Nikka for my future Japanese noodle soup orders.

shared sushi boats and sake between 6 people and had an absolutely wonderful time. Service is amazing -- cannot stress enough how much that added to our experience. This is the kind of sushi place where you can tell just from walking in that it's going to be a great time. Will be coming back!!
The fish tasted so fresh! And they were not skimpy.
The raw fish slices were thick and delicious. I really loved the salmon. The egg cakes were not how I thought they would taste, they are very sweet and very delicious! They used a lot of rice to plate the fish which was kind of too much. I ended up throwing most of the rice away because it was like a pound of rice.

I found Edomasa on Google and instantly fell in love with this place when I visited here for dinner. I ordered a chirashi bowl, a 16 ounce Sapporo beer, fried oyster, and a dinner special (not shown in the picture). Everything was extremely good and tasty, particularly impressed with freshness of ingredients and authenticity of tastes. It was pretty busy when I got there, so the service was a little slow but it wasn't too bad. It's cozy inside and the owners were super nice and kind. Edomasa is my favorite place to dine when I'm in SB. I will definitely come back here to try other items on the menu.
