First class attention to detail
First class service and attention to detail. Food was excellent. Fantastic evening all round and would definitely go back again. Book if you can
Be the first to ReplyMy 1st Visit in a hurry
Ambiance 3/5 We were sitting outside and it was okay thereโs a heater to keep us warm. Weโre in a hurry and the kitchen is closing soon so it was really a quick dine. Service 5/5 The servers are very accommodating, kitchen closes in 10mins but they still let us have a quick lunch. Food 5/5 As we are in a hurry, we only had the Crab Tostadas and El Pastor Tacos. It was soooo goood! I definitely would recommend and would go back.
Be the first to ReplyZero Gluten Free Options In A Mexican Restaurant Is Hilarious
Not for the first time, I came to this restaurant that serves a naturally gluten free cuisine only to be told that due to cost cutting/ being short staffed/ whatever and only running one fryer, that none of the naturally gluten free menu options could be provided gluten free due to cross contamination. Not even the nachos. This is weak. My friend ate food and I just drank Gf beer. If I wanted to be a beer-belly boasting alcoholic I would have gone to Wetherspoons, and paid one third the price. This wouldnโt happen anywhere near Mexico. The excuse given was that el pastor had a small kitchen. Seemed about the same size kitchen as many central London restaurants to me, many of which confidently offer gluten-free options. Sort it out, your business model would benefit from not discriminating against coeliacs, many of whom see Mexican restaurants as a safe haven, or at least somewhere to get an option of one safe menu item, even if it is the nachos. Did I mention? I couldnโt even eat the nachos!! Thanks, I think.
Be the first to ReplyRudeness of staff spoiled my birthday treat!
We arrived on time - told that table was available for 1.5 hrs - service got slower as more people arrived - waiting for dessert we were told quite bluntly โdonโt forget i need this table back asapโ - waitress appeared oblivious of any time limit & after we had eaten our dessert we had to wait again for the bill while the โtable managerโ kept popping back to remind us we were running late - customers have no control over how long it takes to complete a meal & politeness towards them should be your first priority - thanks for spoiling my birthday & I wonโt be back soonโฆ.

Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Tacos
Great flavors in the house specially, pork tacos. Chips and guacamole also very good. Serving portions just right. Enjoyed the food but the noise level was over the top. Maybe management needs to think again about music choices.
Be the first to ReplySo good
I don't tend to write reviews but I had such a good time last night. Took my girlfriend for her birthday and it's the first time I've been since pre-covid. We had Carnitas sharer along with a range of sides (refried beans, guac and corn) and starters. Lemon sole tostada and pork belly/octopus tacos were really good. Service was impeccable. This was highlighted by the reminder that breads, tortilla chips and condiments were available on a free refill basis which we utilised. Our waiter made us feel like a guest in his home. Obvious sign that it is good, Nathan Outlaw (2 x Michelin stars) was sat at the table behind us. Thank you for your hospitality. We will be back soon.
Be the first to ReplyMiniscule Portion
This has to be the worst street food in Belfast; very expensive and the portions are SO small. Avoid.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Mexican food
Had a great meal with 5 of my colleagues on our Xmas day out. If you love mexican food this is the place to eat, service was excellent and food devine. Try the margarita drink went well with the meal finished off with a pina colada. Put this one on your bucket list
Be the first to ReplyAwesome Mexican in Soho
I had been recommended El Pastor for some authentic Mexican when visiting London for my birthday and was not disappointed. Booked easily on the app for a birthday meal. The fish tacos were incredible- crispy batter, wonderful flavors and the black tortillas made it all the more presentable. I also had the pulled pork tacos with mango & pineapple salsa which were excellent. Pork was cooked perfectly, and the salsa cut through nicely. We finished the night off with some fiery mezcal with peppered orange. The only gripe here is that it was slightly expensive for two measures, but fully aware of alcohol prices in London, and I wanted mezcal on my birthday so didn't mind! The atmosphere and decor were wonderful, really felt is transported us to a little taqueria in Mexico City somewhere- rustic walls, chandeliers, loads of different tequilas and mezcal on the bar. Staff were very friendly; didn't catch the names of the guys we spoke to but were very helpful and engaging. Absolutely coming back next time I'm in London!
Be the first to ReplyGreat Mexican experience
Great Mexican experience. Amazingly fresh tasting genuine Mexican food at good prices. Very friendly staff and good atmosphere inside and out.

4 of us ate outside under the heat lamps at El Pastor.
The restaurant is definitely vibey and has a great location in Borough Market.
We ordered margaritas and I had an AF Estella. My colleagues commented that the drinks were mostly ice and โcould have done with some more liquidโ.
The fish tacos were good although tepid when they came out. My colleagues enjoyed their various dishes although I think we could have all ordered more.
The guac and tortilla chips whilst we waited went down well.
Service was ok, it was very busy and we had stretches of time where we couldnโt get the attention of the servers.
Great place! Try the Pina Colada!
Really great place with good food, service and ambience. I strongly reccomend you try the Pina Colada. One of the best i have had!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place for dinner or date
Really great decor and food. Very filling but not over barring. Enjoyed out date night! Iโd definitely recommend.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and service but a little pricey
Atmosphere on the tables outside was great. Tacos were delicious. The waiter, Matteo, was really on top of things and we never had to weight (only great recommendation for the mushroom taco). Only thing is if you're on a budget, you may leave a little hungry.
Be the first to ReplyStingy portions and bland
Being Mexican I was excited to hear about this new restaurant and went to it last weekend. The restaurant seemed to market itself as an authentic Mexican taqueria. The experience would be an informal setting where tacos are served directly from the grill with double tortillas, packed with delicious, tasty fillings and very hot.
The experience at Pastor was nothing like that and I was quite disappointed about the food, portions and prices. The portions were meagre and the tacos were served with only one tortilla. The carnitas were soggy and tasteless and the pastor was equally bland. The salsa's lacked any punch or flavour. On top of that, the food was not hot enough and just slightly warm. I would have sent it back had I not been in with other people. The hibiscus margarita was delicious but quite small for the price of ยฃ10.
The service was also not very attentive. We kept flagging people to help us which was a struggle.
Each of us paid about ยฃ35 for the dinner. After that I felt like I had only eaten horderves and was still hungry. I had to eat again at home.
To anyone eating here, please know that Mexican food is so much better than this. Those who have been in Mexico City can attest to this.
Nice but over priced
El Pastor,Soho. Visited about 5pm on a Saturday evening. Service was prompt and friendly. Ordered the chicken tingas and avocado ceviche to start. The ceviche was nice and fresh,Tingas were nice but nothing special. Ordered 2 sets of the Al Pastor speciality tacos and despite the server asking is that all we were not prompted to order more. When they came out we saw why she was confused when we didn't order more. Almost single bite sized and the meat was more packed and cubed than I thought it would be given its description, I had been expecting a more pulled pork consistency, however that is on me. I ordered a second round of the prawn tacos and they were sublime. Perfectly cooked and flavours balanced. For the price I'd have liked the tiny shot cup sized portions of salsa included in the price. The chocolate mole tart was also lovely with a nice mice of flavours. Over all about 20% more expensive than I'd have liked however if I was to go back the short rib tortillas for 2 for ยฃ30 would be my go to. They looked right on the money both by sight and smell and I was left with major food envy as I had to leave for the theatre.......
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service and food
That was the second time visiting El Pastor. 1st was in the branch in Soho and this time it was in Stoney Street. The staff were very attentive and anticipating our needs. We tried Guacamole, Chicken Tinga Tostada, Al Pastor Tacos, Chicken Tacos, Prawn Tacos and all the 5 Salsas. We loved everything from the food. Our server was Laura and she really exceeded our expectations by being extremely professional on serving our food and taking care of the whole service. We would definitely visit again.
Be the first to ReplyTasty but disappointing
The food here is delicious. There is no doubting that. The quality of the fish, especially on the tuna tostados is brilliant, and pretty much every dish we tried was really tasty.
Unfortunately it doesnโt seem to know what it wants to be as a restaurant? Itโs got a street food vibe, but with a Michelin star price tag. They have posh personalised plates, but cutlery is in a tin can on the table (so always questionable how clean they are) and part of the restaurant is in a covered alley way, we had to keep our coats on all the time as it was too cold and the table and chairs were garden furniture.
Bill is presented in an over the top iPhone type case which isnโt even used for the payment? Feels like the over priced menu is compensating for some of the aesthetics that donโt actually aid the customer experience. It was also a shame how disinterested the staff were. A friendly smile and bit of conversation goes so far and unfortunately we didnโt find that here.
We had fun and ate well, but it was way too much money for what you get and we agreed we probably wouldnโt return. Unless we won the lottery.
Delicious food. Like others
Delicious food. Like others have said, the dishes are. It huge. The quality is top notch and well worth a visit.
