ALL AN EXPERIENCE
The experience is impeccable. Each of the steps of the menu takes you through known flavors and totally new ones. Some dishes are better than others but overall very tasty. The wine experience could be better, it is very expensive and you don't end up enjoying it as much. The cost is high and the taxes raise it a little more.
Be the first to ReplySpectacular Experience!
What an amazing experience, having been to a few Michelin Star restaurants, my husband and I were absolutely impressed by the outstanding experience that the master chef has put together in El Cielo. We are originally from Colombia and he made us feel very proud of our culture! The mix of flavors with Colombian inspired ingredients make the experience just spectacular. The service is impecable, delicately synchronized to make you feel very special. We particularly liked the โbuรฑuelosโ โchocolo arepasโ, lobster rolls and the dessert inspired in many of the flavors that brought great memories from our childhood (โMiloโ, โKola Romanโ, guanabana, merengues), although every single dish was just exquisite. Additionally the experiences they create like the โChocoteraphyโ or the โCoffee Fieldโ were not only fun but very enjoyable. Calvin and his team took care of every detail to make our evening memorable, highly recommend it for those who like to enjoy a wonderful experience, with amazing food in a charming set-up and outstanding service!
Be the first to ReplyWorst Concierge and Customer Service ever!
To celebrate my 50th. birthday with the family, we had a reservation for Friday, October 28, 4 days before I received an email canceling the reservation due to remodeling. With such short notice, it was impossible to get a reservation at another similar restaurant. Since that moment I have tried to contact them via email and calls but to date, no one responds. There is no way to get in touch with this establishment. Even though the restaurant is great and the food is top-notch, I do not recommend it for special occasions since the customer service and concierge are terrible. I've been to the location in Medellin and had such an amazing experience, but here in Miami is very much impossible.

This restaurant doesn't allow me to do reservation for one person. You need to have more than 2 people to dine in, which is really bad. They also never respond to any phone calls.
Be the first to Replywatch out!!! USD$130 for una copa the champagne!! - Got charged USD $130 for a glass of champagne!!
The "experience" is not worth the bill. The worst part was that while we were waiting for our table, we were offered a glass of champagne. When I received the bill I was shocked to see a charge of USD$130 for it. If you are gong to charge me USD$130 for a glass of champagne tell me upfront the cost (or show me the menu) so I can decide if I take it or not. dont be sneaky about it presenting it as a welcome gesture to then charge me that amount...not cool.
Be the first to Reply21 courses of deliciousness if you like that kind of dinner
Right now they are only serving the experience, a 21 course dinner. Pros Inventive delicious food, excellent staff, Santiago took great care of us. The food is 5 star, the experience is 3 (largely we prefer a la carte dining hence four stars overall. Lamb, duck, seafood all delicious. And the inventive serving of food makes it a fun experience. Cons We arenโt big fans of 21 small courses, as soon as you enjoy something itโs gone! And as a result the staff is constantly coming over delivering and clearing plates and explaining the next course, so your conversation is continually interrupted. Wine list a disappointment. First we were heavily up sold on the wine pairing before even being seated and seeing the menu. Secondly when we did see the list no vintages are shown and the sommelier only speaks Spanish so they arenโt able to assist most clients. The flatware was surprisingly of a cheap quality which was odd considering the beautiful plates and glassware. I doubt we would return.

The worst experience With people close mind.
Really is a hell if you are not the same like the owners!!
El cielo
Really good experience at so.field. all the employees are extremely nice and helpful. The tree of life is a must: a homemadebread very unique and tasty

This restaurant has high aspirations, and achieves many of them. They have a 10 and four item menu and an al la carte menu. The meal starts out with a very nice Tree of Life bread with a creamy cilantro butter. The flat bread is suspended by copper wires above a rock. The ceviche was excellent, the pompano in a banana leaf with rich was also excellent. The yuca gnocchi was a bit pasty, but good. The chocolate desert was very good. Service was also good and there were some decent wines on the menu.

We havenโt heard about this restaurant, but since we live very close, we decided to go last minute! We didnโt know there was only a taste experience for Motherโs Day, but we decided to try it. And we loved! The restaurant is by Miami River and when the weather allows the outside menu is different. There was a sequence of small plates, and overall, they tasted very good!
My favorite was the yucca bread on a tree iron and stone sculpture with a cilantro sauce! The other favorite was the tuna tartare and the milk soup! Delicious! When the dessert came there was almost no room left! In the meantime, there was an exotic chocolate experience washing hands! The coffee serving was unique! It is expensive, but we enjoyed!
Delicious food but trashy ambience
We celebrated our anniversary. The food is fantastic, a foodie's delight. The chocolate hand wash is fun, and the ending with dry ice is a show stopper for coffee. But the clientele had some trashiness. It is not a refined atmosphere. It felt more like a night club or something, not a 5 star dining experience. One patron took off her jacket to wear a bra only until she decided to put her clothes back on. Another patron stood up to pose like a stripper while her friends took pictures of her. She did this repeatedly until the server or someone else forced her to sit down by bringing her water first at the table. It was really trashy. It will be our last time here because it does not feel like a special occasion fine dining place.
Be the first to ReplySecond time is not charming
I was here three years ago and returned now with friends. Las time I found the service lacking but the food made up for it. This time both the food and the service are nowhere near the level they should be for a $187 a head (base price, no drinks) dining experience. There are 14 "courses" in the meal, there is "course" where chocolate is smothered on your hands so you can lick it, there is another "course" which consists of hand lotion dabbed on a rose petal that you are supposed to rub on your hands, this one you can't eat. The rest of the courses are laughably pedestrian; a tuna tartare, a piece of tuna on top of a pork rind, a single shrimp, a tasteless duck. Never again.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding Fine Dining Experience
We were pleasantly surprised by our dinner at El Cielo last night. The creativity employed in creating the various dishes not only gave out a complexity of flavors but also a pleasant sense of satisfaction. The service and attention to details were excellent, specifically we commend our waiter Juan and his staff for giving us such a unique high level of experience. This restaurant can be compared favorably to one of the other few Miami restaurants that offer a degustation menu, L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon. El Cielo provides a step in the right direction providing a unique high level of quality fine dining which Miami very much lacks when compared to other major cities around the world. We would like to make an observation and recommendation about the wine pairing as what is being currently offered does a major disservice to the degustation menu. Rather than offering pairings on the inexpensive side they should try offering two pairings with much higher quality wines, perhaps one at $100 for 3 glasses and another one at $150 for 5 glasses. That would be more consistent with the high quality degustation menu offered. We highly recommend El Cielo, whether is for a special occasion or at any time for those that enjoy fine dining.
