Great rooftop service!
Excellent service! My wife and I booked this hotel for our first (of many) trip to Charleston. On our first night, we visited the rooftop bar. Sheyene took extremely great care of us and was a complete delight the rest of our stay at the Grand Bohemian!! Come here, stay here, drink here! Thanks Sheyene, we'll be back and see you soon!
Be the first to ReplySuper fun rooftop ambience!
Set outside late afternoon on the rooftop! Have a great cocktail recommended by our high energy waitress! Super fun rooftop ambience! A rainstorm came so we moved inside and sat at the bar. I've been here before in the evening when everything lights up with a purple hue... super fun vibe. Nice option for a drink! Great cocktail selection!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing !
Mothers Day Brunch - could not be more disappointing. Hostess was arrogant and unfriendly to begin with. Even though we had a reservation 4 weeks before for inside, we were only given a table outside. Full sun. Hot and NO umbrellas, not suitable for Charleston weather …. When we asked for an umbrella we only got a smirky response as to “no”. The food was ok, but as we were sweating and overheated, could not enjoy it. Our waiter Sidney was the only highlight. Never again. There are plenty other options in Charleston.
Be the first to ReplyView of Air Conditioners.
We stopped for lunch and the first clue was it was empty except for 2 other tables. We ordered cocktails off the menu which took 10-15 min we searched for another place to eat. Very small menu for lunch 3 entrees. $20 for just a hamburger. The roof stop view was directly in the sun with no umbrellas and showed the neighboring air conditioners.
Be the first to ReplyTop notch restaurant!
Amazing food, service and atmosphere at Eleve. Can’t recommend it enough. The rain forced our outside reservation inside but everything about this restaurant was top notch. Our waitress was amazing and gave us great recommendations for food, drinks and other places to see while in town.
Be the first to ReplyQuiet Sunday dinner at Eleve
Our family had an enjoyable dinner at Eleve this weekend. The restaurant wasn’t too busy (Sunday night), and it was great for a family dinner out. Our server (Racheal?) was very kind and attentive. Our food was great—my flounder was nicely prepared.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible Food
My family and I were deeply disappointed in the experience we had at Eleve last night. We do not recommend eating at this establishment, for reasons that include the following: (1) The online menu advertises a beautiful, full charcuterie board. What we received can only be described as “minimal.” Quite frankly, it was pathetic. The image online features a long wooden board, but ours came on a tiny platter that was barely full. The olives looked dry and unappetizing, and the bread was stale. (2) The NY strip that three of us ordered was bland, and, in one case, watery. (3) I ordered the salmon, which was not only slimy, but it came with mushy Brussels sprouts. (4) The menu listed a Nutella lava cake, which we were excited to try, but what came to our table was a lemon pound cake, topped with what we think was icing. Talk about false advertising! The cake was unbelievably dry, and the lemon additive was so pronounced that it was almost inedible. (5) I ordered a mulled apple cider that was so watered down, I could not finish it. Eleve is, hands down, one of the worst restaurants my family and I have ever been to. We spent a significant amount of money on terrible, overpriced food. Do not do the same!

Loved everything. The ceasar salad with bacon was sublime in flavor. I had the Daily Catch which was Atlantic halibut and served with risotto and broccoli. It was quite perfectly cooked. We ate outdoors on a beautiful September evening.
Be the first to ReplyVery good
We stayed at the hotel and after a crazy travel day (flight delays and cancelations) on our day of arrival, we decided to eat at the hotel rather than go out. We both got the steak & frites which was great. We had a bottle of rose which was great and we got another to take back to our room. We had the heirloom tomato and burrata app which was good, but not outstanding (this can be a very standard dish that doesn't always stand out at all restaurants). Our server Morgan was OUTSTANDING. Give her a promotion/raise! She is amazing at customer service!!
Be the first to ReplyNice breakfast
We stayed in the hotel below (The Grand Bohemian) came up for breakfast in the morning. Had the American breakfast and it was delicious! Definitely recommend stopping in!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful location mediocre food
Classic example of an eatery that is more about the location and view than the food, which is unfortunate because it’s a great space, staff are friendly and service was great. We had brunch and it was expensive and we left hungry. I had the pizza and it was soggy and pretty boring. Photos we took on the roof were lovely though.
Be the first to ReplyBartender was great as were the drinks, waitress service was NON-existent !
The service was terrible, except the bar & bartender. We Started at the bar as that is where we ended up after the elevator. We were able to seat ourselves anywhere. We then viewed the menu from online as no waitress came to our table. We waited for a waitress to come to our table but never saw a single one in the 10 mins we waited. We finally got up and went to the bar and ordered our drinks and food. While doing this we also had to wait a few minutes. The manager, wearing a red dress, came out and looked us straight in the eyes and then turned around and walked away without even acknowledging us. We placed our order and went and sat back down. Another five minutes later the bar tender received our food from a waitress at the bar and he then delivered it. Pear salad was great, calamari was great as well. The ‘sun dried tomato’s and basil” fire cooked pizza was a major disappointment. Very oily and greasy. So we eventually got tired of waiting for our bill to come so back to the bar we went. We told the bar tender we wanted to ‘close out’ and pay for our meal he handed us a ticket for some $15.xx. That was baffling to me. It showed one glass of wine for an order. We let him know it was the wrong ticket, his reply, “you guys made out better on that than we did”. We again told him we had a food order and two drinks. His reply, “did you ever have a waiter come to your table ?”. Nope. “Then your bill is correct”. We left him a tip that was double our bill, we still came out ahead !!

We had early dinner up here two nights in a row. There was only one server up there the second night (Gabrielle) but she did an admirable job of juggling about 30 patrons and their orders. I know it's hard to get staff now so we appreciated her!
Be the first to ReplyRooftop dining
We had dinner on the rooftop, great views, service was excellent and the food was good! We had the burger and the pear salad.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food!
We ate here several times, breakfast and dinner, when we were staying here. The food is delicious! The rooftop bar is truly fabulous. We loved the fire pits since it was a chilly evening. The staff is great as well.
Be the first to ReplyGreat dirty martinis in nice venue
Had lunch in thus quiet venue part of a hotel. The dirty martini was excellent and garnished with blue cheese olives. Charcuterie board cheeses should have been served at room temp. Nice salads.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful view and good food
We stopped in here for lunch on a weekday. The internet presence indicated that the Madison Cafe was open, but when we arrived and asked where “the cafe” was, we were directed to the rooftop restaurant and bar, Élevé. This has a lovely view, and both indoor and outdoor tables. The dining room has a very eclectic decor, which I believe is in keeping with the attached Grand Bohemian Hotel. I had a poached pear salad with added salmon fillet- and I must Sat it was one of the best lunch salads I’ve ever had; blackberries, various lettuces, poached pears, pecans, pomegranate vinaigrette dressing. My wife had a burger and side salad. The salad had no dressing, although the waitress tried to convince her that it did. Eventually, she brought over some dressing. Overall, a good experience, and I‘d recommend this restaurant foe a nice lunch.

This place is a must from the view, to the atmosphere, to wonderful staff that wary greets you. Dinner was delicious and beautifully presented.
Be the first to ReplyCocktails on the Rooftop & Reserved seating outside
Cocktails on the rooftop are made easy to order via using their quick qr code on a smart phone. They had a varied drink menu. The cocktail bar maid was very attentive to our party. She made me a fresh mint and citrus drink as I was designated driver and only wanted one drink with dinner.
The dinner menu for restaurant week was price fix; appetizer, entree, dessert. 2 of us ordered price fix and 2 ordered off the menu. I ordered the tile fish dish as it is native to South Carolina. It reminded me of a cross between Cod and Mahi Mahi. The arrangement was different in that the white fish was really dry on top of a mound of chunky homemade chowder. I liked the dish for the most part. Just not a fan of combining fish with andouille sausage as it over powered the dish and there appeared to be more sausage than fish in the chunky chowder. The Wait staff was lovely she kept the spirits flowing and was highly attentive. She had a great sense of humor and style and made the evening fun.
Drinks and food was ok, but the service was sub-par.
Upon arrival, we were seated outside (by request) but told we had to sit at a particular table that was in the sun, when there were other tables and seating areas in more shaded areas and were told they weren't available. It took our server more than 15 minutes to finally bring our drinks and before leaving we had to go hunt him down to pay the check. Definitely not the experience we were expecting.
Be the first to ReplyOMG, this place is great!
Great modern food with a flare, Great service and a fantastic view. This place is worth a try! We got the pizza and some other dishes. The pizza had a unique crust that was most likely puff pastry and a wonderful flavor. We ended up with a bread pudding dessert and wow that's all I can say. Don't let this place intimidate you, its just a short elevator ride to the top!

We wanted a place for a drink and to share an appetizer for a mid afternoon snack after a day of traveling. Our hotel down the street recommended Eleve for the rooftop bar.
Upon arriving the very disinterested man at the desk informed us that there was no service outside. We could order a drink at the bar but we could not take food outside. We sat inside and ordered 2 glasses of wine and asked for a menu. We are then brought one glass of wine and informed us that it was the last glass of that varietal. We ordered a different wine and finally both had a glass of wine. The appetizers didn’t sound too appealing to us so we just ordered an $11 order of French fries. Upon receiving our bill we find we’ve been charged for 2 glasses of the higher priced wine. Once we got that fixed our total bill for 2 glasses of wine and French fries was $41. I get it that we are in a tourist town and we try not to sweat the small stuff on vacation but that was a bit challenging.
We went out on the rooftop to see the views once we paid and what do you know but they had service out there!
