Elisa Vancouver Reviews
I love Elisa - usually.
My last two times I let myself be talked into ordering an expensive ($220) European steak. Both were beyond disappointing; tough, gristly, not especially tasty. Do yourself a favor - stick to North American cuts, or save yourself $140 and go to the Keg. Management at Elisa how my experience was, so I told them, and received no response. I will prob go back eventually. I'm a dummy that way.
Probably the best ribeye I've had in many years.
Although the service at the bar wasn't very friendly. Maybe service at a table would be better? As expensive as this place is, one would hope that the service would be as good as the food.

Excellent all round experience
Great restaurant, beailutifully designed, lovely ambience and superb, well oiled service. The steaks were great but the lamb was a stand out dish. Fabulous starters Nd great desserts. It's not cheap but the service and quality of produce lend themselves to the higher price tag. We couldn't fault this outstanding restaurant.

Dinner in Vancouver
Went to this restaurant on Canada Day for a late night dinner. Food is exceptionally good. We tried fish and steak. Both are tasty. Salad is fresh. Dessert is good. We are from Hong Kong and we have the best food in this city and the world so we seldom think other restaurants in other cities are very good but this one in Vancouver is recommended.
Service was phenomenal.
The food was delicious and their Incandescent cocktail is to die for. The ambiance is upscale but comfortable. I didn't feel out of place wearing jeans. My teenage daughter loved the gnocchi. I shared the porterhouse with an asparagus side and butter lettuce salad. It was all amazing. A definite must try.
Food was fantastic.
Steak one of the best I've had. Clair is an excellent manager. Keeps the place hopping.
Thanks Miriam for making our meal so special.
This restaurant was very pleasant to dine in because we sat outside and we were looked after by the wond Miriam. She is what made our dining experience worth being there. To be honest the food was okay but definitely overpriced...I was aghast at the prices but it was the last night of our holiday, so we stayed and completed our meal.
Definitely a place I would go for steak.
Elisa Steakhouse never fails to impress! The bone-in Ribeye is a standout dish that I always look forward to. The servers are consistently professional, friendly, and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. It's no surprise that we often run into familiar faces - great taste in restaurants clearly brings people together! While I haven't brought my kids yet, seeing other families enjoying themselves has me thinking it's time to introduce them to this wonderful dining experience. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it - you're sure to have a memorable time! -Dine out Daily Fam-

I truly wonder why the best restaurants In Vancouver have less than 5 stars, I am guessing people are mad at the prices. Besides every now and again running into an arrogant server that cannot control their emotions while in a rush -the food has never failed me! I have been to this restaurant around 15 times and I must say the Chef is keeping it alive- without such care and love for the food this restaurant would become just another one of many! Thank you for existing. If you truly love your tastebuds and what you put in your system this is the place.
Great food, I had the lamb as suggested by Luka, our server
Great food, I had the lamb as suggested by Luka, our server who took great care of us. The lamb was amazing, as were all of the appetizers and the dessert. The prices are expensive, but for the service, atmosphere, and quality of food that you get it is well worth it if you're looking for a fancier dinner.
Brought a friend in from Toronto.
Our pal is a world traveller in the Fashion industry at a high level. He and I both agreed, best steaks we've ever had. Superb. From being warmly greeted by Hannah and team, to the service, David and Claire dropping by to make sure every detail is accounted for... none better. Hard act to beat.
Excellent food, excellent service.
This is the third time we've been to Elisa this year, and yesterday was the most enjoyable. Francesca knew exactly what we wanted, and the premium beef cuts we ordered were just right for the group, based on her recommendations. We especially enjoyed the dry aged cuts and, of course, the wagyu cuts. She asked us the right questions, and we left it up to her to make her own recommendations. All turned out to be perfect for us. Francesca was amazing. Very helpful, very pleasant, and very efficient.
We had a fantastic birthday dinner at Elisa.
We ordered bluefin tuna tartare, crispy spring rolls, 4oz wagyu beef, as well as beef Wellington. Loved every single dish, but the all star is of course the Wellington. Service was attentive yet relaxed. We were as happy as a clam.

My husband and I came to Elisa to celebrate our honeymoon & 10 year dating anniversary. The staff was so kind (shout out to our waiter Brad, he was the sweetest thing), our food was amazing and the ambiance was fabulous making it the perfect spot for anyone looking for a great dinner!
Elisa is an amazing restaurant and I was pleasantly
Elisa is an amazing restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised that it's rated the #1 steakhouse in its category. There was a huge wine selection and each dish was exquisite. The servers were extremely attentive and the service was impeccable. We ate steak, a burrata appetizer that came with salad and some vegetables, drank some cocktails and had delicious desserts. I would definitely go back to Elisa and have recommended it to my friends. The ambiance is warm and inviting and the lighting was soothing. There's also an outdoor patio area that's wonderful in the summer and ideal for people-watching. Elisa is a place to be seen so dress up ladies and gentlemen as you never know who you're gonna meet there
Splendid Experianca
Beautiful dining room. Well appointed. Happening place among a raw of dining establishments serving variety of nativity. Grilled lobster was excellent. My Rib eye was magnificent. Great wines poured to compliment. That was a warm service and a pleasure meal.
Excellent in all aspects
We arrived early so we could have a drink at the bar first. Earl Grey martini was recommended and throughly enjoyed. My wife had a Mai Tai. Very friendly bar tender who visited for a few minutes despite being busy setting up. Hal. Great guy. Our table was ready in a good location. One terrific waitress served us. Of boy did she know her stuff! Both food and drink. Every thing she recommended was excellent. We had a couple of wine tasters and quickly chose a favourite. We had excellent steaks. We had the Waipu Japanese steaks. This place is known for its deserts but I only had a mocha ice cream My wife however had the crรจme Brรปlรฉe. All things considered it was worth the expense. It was expensive so if your Looking for a cheap quick night out try somewhere else. We had a very relaxing evening. Being g a Tuesday night they were full but did not hurry us out.

I'll start off with the ambiance of this restaurant and the aesthetic which are both very thought out, luxurious, intimate, and warm. This is a perfect spot for a date night or even a business dinner. You will impress whoever you are taking there are no questions about that. Their bar is also awesome looking with probably every liquor you can imagine. Their wine list might be one of the biggest wine lists I've seen at a restaurant. The service is impeccable throughout the whole 2 hours we are dining here. The food; We started with the seafood plateau (I believe it was called) it was the smaller version of the seafood tower. Since it was just my girlfriend and I we were very impressed with how much seafood actually came on this plate. You got to taste every seafood item on the menu they offer which was a great touch. The tartar, the prawns, the yellowtail, the oysters everything was 10/10 so fresh and delicious. I honestly wish we got the tower because everything was so delicious you wanted more. For the main course we got the big bone in ribeye that was dry aged, the fries, and the broccolini's. Everything here was also delicious the only thing that could've been a little better is the cut of ribeye itself. It had quite a bit of tendons in it which is something you wouldn't expect with such an expensive cut of meat at a steakhouse. That's the only reason I gave a 4 out of 5 stars other than that everything was excellent.

Food - 4/5 Atmosphere - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Value - 4/5 Would I go back? - Yes Atmosphere and service is top notch, can not ask for a better experience. Located in yaletown with an open dining room and comfy seating. Our waitress was extremely attentive and helpful. While busy that evening, we did not feel we had to ask for anything, we felt very well looked after. The food is definitely on the higher end side, but for the location and what you get, it's worth it. We started with their smoked bison tartare, hamachi crudo and Cesar salad. The smoked bison tartare stole the show for the evening. It was Smokey, flavourful and tender at the same time. So good that I can just order 2-3 of them and call it dinner. We then had the roast dinner which they only do on Fridays, Saturday and Sunday. The steak was tender but not as flavourful as I had hoped. It was a big portion for $70 is which a great deal. We also had a side order of onion rings which were quite nice and reminds me of the onion rings that red Robin does. We finished off with a baked Alaska, which was meticulously pipped with the meringue and torched. Although I would prefer to have some table side theatrics for the ceasar salad and baked Alaska.

Need to book like a few weeks in advance for weekends and holidays. Friendly host, smart server with butler style of service. Each dish was prepared with details and tasty superior comparing to other steak house. Only the onion rings were slightly overcooked, but the server cancelled it without charge and we replaced with Brussel Sprouts which tasted delicious and crispy fried. Would recommend for special occasion as menu prices are above average restaurants, but well deserved for what you paid.
Well deserved for its reputation and expensive menu pricing

Excelent service and extraordinary steak
A Great place , nice people , groso menu Staff is Great Steak options really Good for all meat lovers Wide wine menu 100% will return
It was a busy Sunday night.
Our server was lovely but our food was on the slow side and came out 1 hr and 15 mins after we were seated. The bread basket was a let down. Cold, hard and very chewy bread. Tried the 40 day aged rib eye, branzino and 6oz of wagyu. Overall it was OK but not sure if it's worth the price. We came for a special occasion and glad we came, just not sure we would be back again soon. They offered to debone the fish which was a nice touch. The sides unfortunately were nothing to write home about but the desserts were beautiful and divine. The baked Alaska funnily tasted more like rum and raisin instead of banana which we were totally fine with. Ambiance was nice. Not too loud and great for larger groups.
Birthday celebration
Steaks were nice but not the best Iโve tasted .. rather over salted. The service was good but after an excellent evening at Araxi in whistler maybe not as great . They didnโt really accommodate my 4 year old granddaughter so she just eat bread .
Sometimes words just don't explain everything!
Oh my! Just a night out with Dad and his three kids. My son had reserved this great restaurant as a "must" dining experience while I was in Vancouver for a conference. My 23 year old surprised us by flying in to crash what was originally going to be a dinner for three and she has reiterated several times since how memorable the experience was. Calling this a steak restaurant is like calling the Mona Lisa just a painting. The aroma alone makes one hungry when you first enter Elisa Steak and the wood fired aged meat covers too many ranges (cute pun) to cover here. The menu speaks for itself. What made our evening particularly special was our waitress Lina. She walked us through an extensive overview of not only the farms where their beef was raised but, important little nuggets of information about how various fat content produces different effects on the tongue. Who knew? I am an Alberta boy and any side of cow on the barbeque suits me fine but, this is on a whole different level! We opted for a shared plate of four of their favorite cuts; Double R Ranch 40 day dry aged, Black Angus Alberta, Snake River Farms Wagyu Striploin 'California Cut' and, Porterhouse Prime 32oz. With appetizers, cocktails, wine and desert, our young server almost needed to provide a cart to get us out the front door! For myself and my family, this wasn't simply a dinner in Yaletown, this was a life event. The next round at Elisa Steak is on me kids! Thanks for the great treat.

I've visited this location on three or four separate occasions, and regrettably, each visit has left me deeply dissatisfied with the customer service I experienced. While the food quality is commendable and made me give it multiple chances, the service, quite shockingly, didn't live up to my expectations. Coming from Houston, a city renowned for excellent customer service in the dining and hospitality sectors, I found the service here exceedingly disappointing. I noticed an air of arrogance from the serving staff and hosts. They interacted with customers rudely and unprofessionally, conveying a dismissive attitude to their clients. It saddens me having to leave such a negative review for an upscale restaurant like Elisa. The food and ambience are delightful, but the customer service is a stark letdown. I hope that the management considers my observations as constructive criticism, to improve the level of professionalism amongst their team."
Very beautiful atmosphere and great service.
They get 5 stars for service because I loved our waiter he really took care of us checked in on us and even went above and beyond when he had a feeling my friend didn't like how her Caesar drink was made he came and insisted that they remade it to her liking because it's really a hit or miss with Caesar's some people like it spicy some are bitter from the Worcestershire. He was amazing! I would come back for the ambience and the service as well as the following items I loved: Cured hamachi 10/10!!! So light so refreshing it honestly would have even tasted just as good if not better had it not been cured and just raw
Save your money and go to Gotham
Terrible attitude, the food is okay but the attitudes of the servers ruins the experience for the price. We normally goto Gothams but thought we would give this place a chance. After a $2500 bill for dinner, which came with an attitude, I won't be coming back here anytime soon. Also if I'm going to be picky, the steak was over seasoned and too salty.
Fantastic Food
Overall, this restaurant is very good. The sides must be ordered separately. Brussels sprouts were a bit burned. Truffle Mac n cheese was good and large enough to share with two people. Wagyu was absolutely delicious. Rib eye was excellent. Drinks were good. The Cheesecake was absolutely fantastic!
Great way to finish our holiday
We were recommended Elisa and was not disappointed. Carolina our host made the evening so enjoyable with great guidance on the menu and wine list. The steaks are amazing and the Hamachi starter was perfectly prepared. Wine list is formidable and has a great selection both local and international. Make this a a place to eat if you have time.
The food is 100% worth the price! We will go out of our way
The food is 100% worth the price! We will go out of our way to fly out to Van from Edmonton just for the steaks here. Best we've ever had! The service is always exceptional. We have had all the Wagyu steaks and bar far best we've had in Canada! Risotto is a must! The desserts like the crรจme brรปlรฉe are also 5/5. Overall would highly highly recommend
Birthday Dinner
Elisa has become our favourite, go to restaurant, for special occasions! This visit we brought our friends to celebrate my wifeโs birthday. We requested to be served by Braeden, after an incredible experience for my birthday dinner last November, and this meal was even better. We were blown away by how well he remembered details about us and our drink preferences. His recommendations for food choices were spot on. I forgot to ask his name, but the sommelier was also perfect in his wine recommendations for dinner. All around, this experience far exceeded all of our expectations!
Loved the ambiance and vibe.
Bradly our server was legit amazing. Really appreciated the quality of service and attention. It's rare. And so appreciated. The baked Alaska - TOP notchSablefish was yummySteak was amazing

Remember back in the day when going out to dinner was exciting? You know....when service was service, when the food was definitely not something you could make at home, and when the atmosphere welcomed you so anxiously and regretfully saw you go at an evening's close. Yeah those days are gone. Until Elisa. If you're wondering whether or not the prices are worth it here. They are.All the basics of classy and upscale fine dining are mastered here. I mean on every level...from the minute you walk in until you walk out. There are four pillars here that make this place what it is. 1. Environmental Feng Shui2. Culinary Art3. Guest Service4. Management TeamThey are all perfected and you can sense that simply by the confidence and smoothness of their operation. Unlike several so-called fine dining places in Vancouver, Elisa's drinks are not watered down and prepared brilliantly from the chilled and sparkling clean glasses to the carefully counted down ice cubes reflecting off their stunning mood lights all throughout the restaurant.Their steaks are prepared exactly the way you like them with an explanation before hand of the cuts of meat if that's something you're into. The marble and texture of some of their cuts are incredible, and to add the smokey charring on top is irresistible. The selection of appetizers is carefully thought out to render it exciting, different and pleasing to various taste buds. Variety, variety, variety...is what I felt with their hors d'oeuvres section. Loved it. With the great space and wonderful food, the cherry on top (no pun intended) was the amazing service. The sheer expertise in guest care was impressive. Great restaurants can guess if you'd like another glass of wine or if you're ready to order desert. With Elisa, they could tell before you knew you wanted it, and they were there without you having to call them over. The service team's attention to detail was astonishing, and this was especially so considering the consistency in high standard maintenance throughout the evening. The philosophy of this place is very clear. They go back to all the traditional basics of upscale dining and what made it so beautiful and exciting many years ago. Something that I personally feel has been going extinct in the hospitality industry....specially post millennium. Elisa is brining it back.I think this might currently be my favourite place to eat.

Wow ! I have nothing to say but the bed with the Greco accent the most entitled and bad attitude towards your merchants. Wonโt be back. Check your attitude buddy.

Used to be a great restaurant, disappointed that the quality has declined.Must try: 1. The scallops: perfectly cooked, soft, fresh, great balance with the acidity from the tomato and olive oilSo so: 1. Seafood platter: - very fresh prawns, minimal seasoning required, great texture. - The hamachi was paired with celery seeds and baby celery leaves, the different flavor profiles came together very nicely - the smoked salmon was paired with some citrus fruits. Delightful.- tuna tartare and the oysters were a disappointment. Especially the oysters, all too small and underdeveloped. For a seafood platter asking for $80+, you'd expect better. 2. Pumpkin cheesecake does not taste as good as it looks. No pumpkin flavour, no cheese flavour. Maybe some salt? 3. Baked Alaska is so beautiful it's like a piece of art but the portion has become smaller and smaller. Every time I go I get a miniature version of the previous one I had. Would not recommend: - Porterhouse was underseasoned. Less of the smokey flavour too. - $10+ onion rings were same as the ones you get from a&w. They used to be much better, fresher and plump onion. - the truffle mac and cheese was too small, not much truffle flavour. underwhelming and overpriced. - the beef carpaccio used to be more soft, and they served white truffle instead of black. Now the black truffle they use is more bland and wood-like.Seating:Try not to be seated close to the kitchen. Ventilation isn't great. Unless you want to go home smelling like grilled steak, get seated further away from the kitchen.
Descent Steak
Nice restaurant in the trendy Yale Town. Row of restaurants. Liked this place. My 6 oz wagyu was perfect if only it was a liitle hotter temperature wise. Carpaccio was excellent too. service was slow or else i would have enjoyed few more drinks. Thirsty

this is the perfect restaurant for special occasions, which is exactly what i did with my mom! it was part of our (sorta)annual staycation, and we braved the snow to get to the restaurant. due to this, we were a little late but the restaurant was very accommodating. the decor of the place was a nice and cozy steakhouse with an open kitchen where you can see the flame frm the grilling of the steaks!we were seated right away, and mike was our designated server. he was the most helpful with both food AND wine suggestions. he suggested the best red to go with our beef wellington (it was the chateau la nerthe on the wine list) and the taster that was given was more generous than other restaurants i've been to - not saying that you should just order a bunch of testers!i clearly just ruined the food choices in that previous paragraph. we ordered the "classic" beef tartare to start - it was my mom's 1st time having rare beef and she loved it! we both loved the caramel used shallot aioli and the crunch onion grilled bread. the char of the grilled bread added a nice smoky flavour to the dish - the tartare was also good on the complimentary bread for the table. mom loves beef wellington so we had the beef wellington for two - the beef wellington is cut in half so no one needs to eyeball each other's half. the pastry was crispy and flaky, the beef was done to the perfect medium state, the duxelles was amazing and we both loved the red wine sauce! mike brought the dessert menu over when we were done with the wellington - we had another one of mom's fav, the crรจme brรปlรฉe. this was a diff one as it had apple and bergamot as its main flavours. the tartness of the apple helped to cut the food coma we were having from the beef wellington.elisa is slowly becoming my fav steakhouse!
Was here last night for a birthday celebration.
Ambiance is very very nice and modern. There are long tables for bigger groups, small tables for 4 and diner type scoot in sections which are perfect for parties sharing food. Our server was very graceful and nice. She's attentive too. We started with two rounds of raw oysters - very very fresh - kusshi and beausoleil. We'll, I have a soft spot for oysters . Then moved to our mains - three cuts of meat: tenderloin strip loin and rib eye cooked medium rare. Also got an order of crispy cauliflower and grilled sea bream. We had Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese for sides. Disappointing to say that everything was good except for the steaks. It was underwhelming. And because it was cooked medium rare, strip loin cut had tendons that I can't cut through. They could have added a bit of seasoning and char the meat a tad bit. We had it grilled a second time and now it had lost all its glory - I can't taste the seasoning at all this time. They were careful not to overcook the steaks but it didn't make the list again. The sea bream was very good - skin was crisp and seasoning tasted perfect. Cauliflower and Brussels sprouts were very good too. I couldn't taste the truffle in the mac and cheese though.
Top notch
Four couples out to celebrate the festive season and this restaurant was perfect! Atmosphere, food, wine and cocktail selection along with Shawn, our attentive and informative server created a seamless and enjoyable evening. Use the valet service to park, save yourself the hassle. Would definitely go here again.

If you're a foodie, or if there's no other option and you're offered the high-top seating in front of the kitchen (3 seats), I would recommend doing it! At first, I was put off with the idea, but it was interesting to see everything in action first hand. It wasn't rushed and chaotic, it was meticulous, methodical and fun to watch different mostly cold dishes being prepared in front of you. However, you also get a clear view of the wood-fire grilling station where all sorts of cuts and amazing sizes of beef are being grilled all at the same time, again with . I eaten here many times and never had a badly cooked steak and seeing him do dozens at the same time was kind of incredible to watch. I happily converse with my dinner companion just the same as we would've at a table, but it was interesting to have the extra element of watching it incredibly smooth kitchen operating, which you often take for granted sitting at the table. I have a new found respect for the employees of Elisa based on this experience. From the moment you hit the hostess station to the very end, everyone working there was professional, meticulous and courteous with a mutual goal to server great food and please their patrons.
My friend and I managed to snag a late night, last minute
My friend and I managed to snag a late night, last minute reservation through our hotel and I was particularly pleased with this recommendation. I have a soft spot for steak houses and I really enjoyed this one. It was laid out in such a way that it was easy to people watch but constructed such that it wasn't easy to overhear conversations. I really enjoyed that quite a bit! Our waitress was delightful. She was charming, personable, honest, and gave solid recommendations. When my friend asked about the duck she was blunt with her assessment of the preparation which was great since our waitress's complaints would have been dealbreakers for my friend. We both ordered the filet (tenderloin on the menu) and where were diverged was I ordered it chef's preparation choice and she ordered it medium rare. Mine came out rare and the taste difference was startling. Whereas my steak sung a chorus of flavor hers came across average. We both marveled at that difference. The oysters were delectable. The potatoes were the only thing to fall flat for me because I found them to be not nearly as flavorful as I am used to from high end steak restaurants. I know it's the entree that is supposed to shine and it did but the potatoes were fairly basic. The cocktails were smashingly delicious!
