Honestly i don't even know if this is traditional or not, but it is really unique and great food. the dishes are great and you can get them as spicy as you want. they differ a bit from what i think of as traditional Thai but that not a bad thing. their mixed cocktails are super good too and match the dishes well. we had a happy accident when a volcano thing was delivered, and that was one of my favourites.

Every time I come here, I HAVE to have the Panang Neua! A massive, tender bone-in short rib is smothered in a rich panang curry and surrounded by stunning blue rice and veggies. It's a vibrant plate with amazing flavors! I've also tried the Hat Yai Fried Chicken, but it's not as flavorful and memorable as the Panang Neua. The interior is always bustling. I love the backdrop of colorful dangling flags, dazzling gold chandeliers, scattered flowers, and moving beams of light. It's giving cute brunch vibes by day, party vibes by night, and I'm here for all of the fun! To pair with the lively ambiance, service is top-notch. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in SF, and it just might be yours too! Come give this place a try & be adventurous by ordering something new, like a specialty dish :) I know I will!
Be the first to ReplyEasily the best thai food I've had in the city so far.
We came here on a Saturday evening, but made a reservation as per suggested by Yelp. Rightfully so because there were a few parties waiting to be seated when we got there. At the first glance, the place gives a very colorful and eclectic vibe. The menu has a plenty of great options, both in food and drinks. We got a cocktail fight to start with. In appetizers, we got the prawn and fish cakes. Prawns were amazing. For main course, we got the oxtail curry and pad kee mao which is my favorite. Not sure what I expected from oxtail curry at a Thai restaurant, but it ended up being the star dish of the night. Very well cooked and flavored with right amount of kick. It is served with flavored coconut rice which paired well. Noodles were great as well. As witnessed, they do very enthusiastic birthday greetings too. I cannot wait to come back here and try some more off the menu.

We were looking at the menu outside this guy says "Eat here! It's the best!" So we did. We had the Pad Sieu Thai with pork belly - it was amazing. Big portions, great prices. We took half home for dinner. Definitely coming back.
Be the first to ReplyMy honest opinion of this place.
Over priced food for a lot of noodles and little protein in your food. I got the Khao Sou Neua which was almost $40 and it was all noodles. I was pretty disappointed with it. Our appetizer also came out after our entree did. Which i found odd. Our service at the table was slow. Almost felt ignored. Beautiful decor on the inside. But overall taste was alright. And idk if i would spend the money here again. Lots of room for big groups.

Outstanding experience at Farmhouse kitchen! Great ambiance, impeccable service, and delicious food. Highly recommend!

We had just arrived in San Francisco and were in the mood for some good Thai food. We searched the reviews and came across Farmhouse. The food was pretty good, nothing spectacular but good. Our waiter was really friendly and attentive, we just had the bad luck of sitting next to a loud annoying group of people. We would definitely come back, sit somewhere else, and try something else on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect place for a date night/day meal.
Food and ambiance are great. Parking is extremely bad though, I will highly recommend taking Uber if you can.

Food was good 4/5 we had a bunch of different foods and we each tried each other . I enjoyed the pad see you the most. The Mieng Kum kung was also pretty god and crunchy 4/5! The food was very presentable and aesthetically pleasing but i think everything was more pretty than it was tasty . The drinks were all 1/5 . The alcohol level on all of them was like half a shot , they were not tasty at all, we returned one of our drinks because it was like flowery medicine, the Cha cha cha was the best one but didn't really taste the alcohol in it sake with the Paloma, they tasted like a watered down unsweetened juice. The service was kinda crap. Our waitress looked like she hated us and treated us so. We were unsure of what to get and they were nor having it. It's my birthday and I just wanted to have a nice dinner with my friends . They did sing happy birthday and put a crown on my head , which was nice . Ooooh also they had cute photo ops in the front as well as in the bathroom lol. Overall I wished I loved this place more. It had so much potential, but I think tik tok blew this place up for not a good enough reason . Maybe I'll try the Oakland location and see if it's just the staff The food was extremely overpriced and wasn't necessarily worth it for what we got . 250$ for 4 people ... meh not worth it
Be the first to ReplyThey have aesthetic food and drinks here.
I would come back again. Wagyu beef rolls were ok... not worth $20 The roti prata is alright... would not order again I like Beef Ribs Khao Soy, hugeee portion, would order again! next time I will try their fried chicken, and the noodle cup noodles :)

i think for how expensive the dishes are i feel like i was expecting more. the chef special dishes that are intended for sharing avg around $40. overall a fun ambiance, dishes were all pretty good, with a unique take on conventional thai (the blue rice!!) but the markup on the dishes was a bit wild imo some standouts are the kao soi, hat yai fried chicken
Be the first to ReplyThis place was truly horrible.
None of the dishes had any flavor and everything was just coated in an overwhelmingly THICK layer of batter. The chicken was super dry and the rice didn't taste like anything. This isn't Thai food at all. It was just super heavy fried food. We tried three dishes and nothing was good. Each dish was roughly $40 as well so quite expensive for such bland food . It's all just for the gimmick DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. If you're a foodie this place isn't for you. If you're interested in aesthetic and cool looking drinks then this is your place. So disappointing. I would give 0 stars if it would let me.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, but my expectations were not met.
Great presentation, but I wasn't wow'd by the flavor/taste. The service was poor. We sat outside as they weren't hosting anyone inside that day.
Be the first to ReplyFood: got the fried chicken with Thai tea.
Chicken was crispy and everything was seasoned well. Service: alert and quick Ambiance: funky and colorful Cost: ~$50 Parking: might have to find parking a block or two away Overall: always down to go here

i came here on a friday night with a group of 10 for a birthday dinner. my overall impression of this place is that it's a little excessive. when i first walked in, there was some sensory overload as the interior is just so colorful and decorated. everything from the decor to the plates to the napkins is very pretty, but it can feel a little gimmicky. we were seated in a semi-private section in the back. there were 2 large tables there so you could seat 2 large groups. our table felt a little small for the number of people - there were 2 seats on each end, and there was barely enough room on the table for all the dishes and utensils. we scanned a QR code to see the menu and i was a little overwhelmed by the length of it - it was 17 pages long. not that there are even a lot of things on the menu - a lot of the pages only have one dish on them. i was also shocked by the prices of the "special" items (which start at $35), especially when compared to the street food ($18, which is comparable to other thai restaurants). the portions are larger than average though, which somewhat makes up for the high prices. i shared the herbal rice salad (which someone said looked like cap'n crunch lol) and got the pad thai with chicken for myself, and both were pretty good. around 5 of us shared the social butterfly drink, which comes in a goblet-looking container. we had some difficulty finishing it, although i think that was because none of us were particularly interested in having a lot of it. the bathroom is also a notable part of the dining experience. my friend needed to use the bathroom and after seeing the inside immediately came back to get her phone to take pictures. it's as well-decorated as the rest of the restaurant, and there's even a bathtub surrounded with roses. there's also 2 sinks even though there's one toilet (i'm not sure why). overall, definitely a unique dining experience that can feel a little excessive.
Be the first to ReplyI wanted to love this place but it's very average.
The papaya salad has a great taste to it but for $16 I was expecting a decent bit of papaya salad and instead 1/3 of the dish was mixed greens at the bottom. I have never been served mixed greens as part of a papaya salad and can only conclude they do this to save money and decrease the portion size of the salad. Fried rice, as many other reviewers have noted, was pretty terrible. Very mushy rice (overcooked), and absolutely flavorless. On the upside, service was very pleasant and efficient, and the green curry chicken was really special. I used some green curry chicken sauce on top of my fried rice which is the only reason I was able to complete my meal. Overall, this place is quite expensive for casual Thai food and I did not find the food quality to match.

Be the first to ReplyThis place is mediocre at best - I'm honestly not sure why
This place is mediocre at best - I'm honestly not sure why it's such a scene...My 9 Y. O. daughter left hungry because the chicken noodle soup was essentially one giant dry noodle, the oxtail curry was insultingly substandard (tough, very little meat and OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive), and the fried rolls were beat (a faint bathroom taste on my first bite...yummy...). The tom yum was good and also the beer (Almanac)...and they clearly put a lot of effort into the decor...too bad I don't go to restaurants based on how they look inside. Happy Birthday me! TBH places like this are why I don't try new places and why I don't like going to dinner on my birthday. On top of that my daughter was really upset that my birthday was "ruined". Thanks, Farmhouse - for a genuinely mediocre, albeit extremely expensive, experience on my birthday! Yikes...so shambolic I even refused to use the bathroom...

Food favorites: pad see you (super flavorful and delicious flat noodle texture), volcano noodles (great spicy kick and fun presentation), Golden Hour cocktail from the cocktail flight (the peach simple syrup added such a bright and airy flavor to the whiskey base) Service: quick, friendly Vibes: authentic thai food meets brunch and floral designs
Be the first to ReplyGreat Thai food with amazing service.
This place is good for groups, birthdays, or just a casual date. Their specials can get super fun and creative just like their festive decor.

I have never had a bad experience at Farmhouse, whether it was the meal or the service. My wife and I went there for our 30th anniversary and the meal was wonderful. I had the amazing beef rib and she had the chicken.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered take out.
The Chicken Pad Thai was okay since I requested no salt. The portion was slightly smaller than expected. I will try something different on the menu next time.
Be the first to ReplyPricey but very flavorful.
Pad king prik, chicken wings, samosa, and stir fry eggplant were stand outs!
Be the first to ReplyFood was good.
Good presentation on the food but portion sizes are small for the price you're paying. I say maybe on celebration only if you want something special that day, otherwise, don't think I'll pay $30 for a small dish I can total make at home. Customer services were awesome. Very nice people.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was so delicious.
I loved the customer service. Our server was very helpful when we had questions about the entrees. I chose a breve dish and it was a lot! The Thai iced tea was so refreshing. I wanted another.
