Overall, Farra was a lovely spot.
the service at this place + their sister spot next door, Atera, was excellent. I walked into Atera and 3 different people immediately greeted me. I didn't have a reservation, and while they had one spot left for their tasting menu, their team was super helpful in pointing me next door to their sister spot Farra as a better option given i don't eat red meat and wasn't really hungry enough for their 12 course tasting menu, but I definitely plan to give that a shot down the road. While more casual, the service at Farra was just as excellent. I had the rose, which was crisp and balanced, to accompany the light seafood meal. I started with the salmon tartare which was delicious and the potato chips added a nice crunch - and you get to control the salmon quantities with a 'build your own' nori approach to the dish. I followed it up with the scallop and roe dish which was delicious. While the rice itself was a little bland, the roe and egg yolk added a nice burst of flavor to every bite and the scallops were phenomenal. I finished the meal with a small dessert, the umami truffles, which were well balanced and a light close out to the meal. The entire experience was quick - but not rushed - and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend giving Farra a shot if you're in the neighborhood!

I was looking forward to dine here after reading so many raving reviews and recommendations across different platforms. Upon checking the menu, my heart fluttered with excitement. Knowing that the portion was going to be relatively small, I ordered 6 items. The burrata and hamachi were the only items worth mentioning. Both items were scrumptious, full of flavors, not heavy and opened up my appetite, which was easily lost after eating the salmon tartare. The salmon tartare was fishy, tasteless, and greasy for some odd reason. Next came the remaining 3 items. The potato with caviar was less than stellar. Once again, grease was the star... the potato still had oil dripping and caviar tasted like caviar. The shape of the potato looks really random. Nothing special going on. Same goes for the shrimp ravioli and the scallop rice. For the portion, taste and visuals, it most definitely did not warrant the price. As far as wine goes, I did not have any due to personal reasons.

Intimate space with great food! I went on a date to Farra and I did not do my research before hand, and I loved it! It is a very small place but the music, lighting, everything was great. The staff was really nice recommending must order dishes and guiding through the extensive wine offers. I had the pleasure of trying the burrata, hamachi, ravioli and Branzino and I it was incredible. The only dish that did not do it for me was the burrata, something about the beats was not right. I loved, loved, loved the ravioli which had flavors unlike anything I have tried before with more of an asian inspired broth which was surprising, would definitely order again. I really want to go back and try the tartar as well as the scallop rice!

By far one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! Intimate space but you don't feel crowded. The staff was incredibly attentive (but not uncomfortably hovering) and truly knowledgeable. We basically ordered what they recommended - Oysters, Shallot, Citrus Ponzu; Hamachi Crudo; Foie Gras Mousse; Potato Rösti; Rice, Scallop, Egg Yolk, Trout Roe; Shrimp Ravioli. Each dish was better than the last, full of rich textures and amazing flavors. We had the Raspberry mouse (so refreshing) and Miso bonbons (not too sweet, the savory hit perfectly with the dark chocolate) to conclude our meal. I highly recommend this place!
Be the first to ReplyWell it's been a while since we were at Farra.
The wine list is unsurpassed with some very reasonable mark ups. Th food overall is excellent but they have made some changes so we missed the lobster ravioli gone from the menu. We tried just about everything on the menu and mostly it was wonderful if a bit pricey. Sadly the desserts were not up to the standard of the cod or the wines. It's Tiny so it's hard to get a reservation. Open kitchen is entertaining. If you like great wine and some food to with it, this is the place for you.

Obsessed!! I love contemporary cooking, clean plating, modern vibes and Farra checks all my boxes This is now one of my fav spots in the city. Extensive wine list available by both glass and bottle, making it the perfect spot for any occasion. The ravioli is less like pasta and more like shrimp dumplings. It's served in savory miso bouillon that makes it taste even more familiar. I wouldn't order again bc it feels expensive for dumplings but I would still try on your first visit (it's their signature). Salmon tartare is good but not too special and the nori wraps get kinda soggy so choose sth else. My must order is the rice bowl. Just stunning There are chunks of scallop hidden and bits of crispy rice mixed throughout, topped with trout roe. It is FULL of umami and the textures are super exciting. You get the pop of roe with the crunch of rice, layered together effortlessly. Highly recommend the chocolate tuile for dessert Layers of crunchy tuile with hazelnut and coffee flavored cream in between. The slight hints of bitterness brings out the sweetness perfectly. Shrimp Ravioli $32 Rice with scallop and trout roe $34* Salmon Tartare $19 Chocolate Tuile $15* 뉴욕에 갈때마다 들릴것같은 Farra.
Be the first to ReplyWhat's the point of going to a wine bar if you don't drink
What's the point of going to a wine bar if you don't drink wine? Because the food is amazing. The hamachi crudo and fois gras mousse (comes with two pieces of tasted white sliced bread) was amazing. Hamachi crudo was especially fresh and delicious, a must get. The shrimp ravioli was okay, because it was kind of messy to eat and it's not obvious if there were any clean lines to cut so the fillings wouldn't leak out. However, despite how tempting it is to get the scallop fish roe egg crispy rice, it was way too salty and we couldn't finish. Had to get ice cream elsewhere to balance the flavor out.

Be the first to ReplyIntimate space, great food.
The Comte with truffle, apple butter, and rye was a great way to start the meal -- each of the flavors shone through without overpowering the others. Shrimp ravioli came with a very good broth. The highlight was the scallop rice; the rice was just the right amount of crispy, the scallops were rich, and the brothy sauce was delicious. Highly recommend. Miso chocolate bon bons were also great; not to sweet, with a hint of savoriness that paired very well with the dark chocolate. Service was friendly and knowledgeable.

9 So I have been seeing this place everywhere on my tiktok last summer and have always had it on my list to try. Will I go again on my own? No. Will I go again if I happened to meet a lovely finance person who wants to stay in this area & has no idea where to go (because it was that expensive)? Yes. Yes, I will. However this place is so tiny, you have to sit inside to get the true experience. I went on a date and we were initially seated outside which were these terrible tiny huts & not the experience I wanted. I asked the host if it was at all possible to sit inside & fortunately he said yes, if I can finish before the next hour. Awesome. Done. This ravioli was shrimp instead of lobster & it was pretty good. It was not filling and every bite I took, I started to feel guilty on taking a date here This was $40 alone. Now, I knew what I was walking into. I can't complain about this price. I'm not complaining. It's flipping fine dining to the max. But I can feel guilty, a bit. Let me telll you thoughh. THIS DESSERT. Yooo. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. It's a deconstructed tiramisu thing & it, was, everything. And it was $15! I am considering going back just for that when I'm in the mood. The taste, omg, I'm salivating as I write this. So effing good. If you can afford this place, you're already doing well for yourself. This review means nothing to you If you know you can't, but hey we all deserve something special- get this dessert asap. Also the service was 10/10. Not too hovering, didn't disappear either. I think she was the bartender as well She was so nice. Highly recommend for the dessert alone.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice wine selection, good suggestions for wine pairing.
Most of the dishes are tapas style (small dishes), a little but salted if not pairing with wine (because all the dishes are design for wine pairing). Consider this place as a bar to hangout with friend will be very nice. Definitely the food shouldn't expect taste like Michelle star restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyFarra is incredible.
The food is perfect, the wine list is fun and unique, and the service is spot on. The scallops, foie, and salmon tartar are some of the best small plates I've had. I dream about the scallops. We will be back!

I came here with my friend a couple months ago for one of their wine dinners where each course was paired with a wine. I'd previously eaten at Atera so had high expectations for Farra, and they were met. As part of the set menu, we had Smoked salmon, tuna tartare, monkfish, a mushroom dish and beef tenderloin, as well as a panna cotta desert. All of the courses were delicious. Although I left full, the courses were small, so I could see someone still potentially being hungry. I would definitely come back for another wine pairing dinner.

Everything was just far too tentative & unestablished for the prices being charged. The food was good, the wine was good, the servers were friendly -- but everything was just far too disorganized, ramshackle, informal, and chaotic. Again, for the prices being charged. We were very underwhelmed.

An intimate space with counter seating and small tables indoors. As you walk past, you'll also see they have an outdoor setup. This is definitely a place known for their wine selection and the smaller sized dishes that accompany it. Between 2, we got three dishes which were enough, but still leaves you a bit hungry. Overall though, I really enjoyed the service and refined and creative take on each dish.

Huge let down! The food was mediocre at best, service was nice but they can't handle trickier situations. Price is too high for subpar experience.Food: We ordered the burrata, beef tartare, and scallops. The burrata was nothing special. The beef tartare was really salty and there were small white balls of inedible cartilage inside. The chicken skin tasted like chicharron, which I'm not a huge fan of. The scallops were the most disappointing. First, the majority of the portion is just rice and for people who know their Asian food, it's nothing spectacular. The worst part was how insanely salty the dish was! I could barely finish the last portion because all I could taste was saltiness.Service: They were nice. However, we were disappointed with how they handled feedback. The waiter and waitress both felt inexperienced working at a higher end restaurant. I told them the scallops were very salty at the end of my meal (which I could've told them earlier) and they didn't really do anything and gave us our bill. Hopefully, my feedback can help future guests enjoy their meal more.Ambiance and presentation: That was the only redeeming factor, hence why they received some stars in this review.
Be the first to ReplyTop notch food and wine selection, warm-hearted service.
Will definitely come back to try out other options on their menu.

Was excited to try out this spot knowing that it is the sister resturant/wine bar to Atera. Did not disappoint. It is a small and intimate spot with an open kitchen. The food was good and on the pricier side but worth it - you can tell that they use good ingredients. We ordered the beef tartare, the rice with baby scallops, and halibut ravioli. Solid wine list and server was able to help with making suggestions. Will be coming again to try out more items on their menu.
Be the first to ReplyWe celebrated our anniversary with Farra and we were blown
We celebrated our anniversary with Farra and we were blown away with the exceptional food, ambiance and service. The restaurant has perfect individual outdoor structures, each with its own door and heater, which was very romantic, safe and warm on a cold winter night. The service was fantastic and we had servers checking in on us the exact right amount, even though we were outside and it was pouring rain. The food was absolutely amazing and decadent. We had the salmon tartar, which cannot be missed. We also has the burrata, which was paired with kiwi and cucumber--I have never had such a different and imaginative burrata combination, and they definitely got it right. For mains, we tried the halibut ravioli, the duck and the scallop, and each were incredible. My favorite was the duck. We also had an incredible dessert that had many different flavor combinations that were original and exciting. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it. This restaurant is clearly the sister of a Michelin star restaurant, as it embodies the same aspirations for imagination and excellence.

Service was superb, and the enclosed outdoor huts were much appreciated. Plating here is stunningly beautiful. We tried:- Salmon tartare with potato chips and nori (beautiful, super fresh salmon, could use a hint of acid or heat - 4/5)- Sourdough, everything profiterole, lavash and garlic bread (the yogurt/butter served with this bread basket was awesome 4/5)- Foie gras mousse, plum, brioche (best dish of the night, rich, creamy foie balanced with acid and bitterness of the plum; also great contrast with the toasted brioche 5/5)- Rice, baby scallop and egg yolk (scallops are perfectly cooked, rice is crispy, also felt this could use some acid or eat 4/5)3 small plates and 1 main were more than sufficient to fill our bellies. Overall Farra has a lot of potential but we feel 2 of the 4 dishes we had were good, but not yet great. We would be happy to try Farra again though!

Was surprised to see a Robert Sinskey cab by the glass in New York, but then again why would I be! Was able to enjoy a glass and have some of the food items. They're small but made with love and finesse. They did have some veggie options, more vegan forward ones would be amazing. The indoor part is really nice.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is really good and servers are nice.
It's a bit pricy than i expected but what can i say.

Be the first to ReplyFarra is a sister restaurant to Atera, Michelin two stars
Farra is a sister restaurant to Atera, Michelin two stars restaurant, which they are just few doors away from each other. Farra is a wine bar that and offers a la carte menu.Environment [4/5] - clean and simple. Their dinning room is quite small. I believe it can accommodate less than 30 people. They have an incredible outdoor dining setup. Service [5/5] - my server was very nice and friendly. It was cold on the day of our visit and she offered to seat us indoor. Price [3/5] - prices are little steep given the food portion is small Food [3/5]* Salmon Tartare [$19] - 3/5. Fresh salmon but not the best raw salmon I've had. Nothing wrong with this dish but it was forgettable. * Rice, Baby Scallop, Egg Yolk [$26] - 3/5. It tasted exactly like the slightly crispy rice bites that you can find in the canto style claypot rice. * Lobster Ravioli [$3x] - 3/5. I forgot the price. It has been replaced by halibut ravioli at the moment. Very small in size. Ravioli sat on the dashi broth. Creative in presentation but nothing special in flavors.
