Flea Street Menlo Park Reviews from The Last Year
5 star all the way.
Great cocktails, nice wine by the glass list. I had the smoked trout, beet salad, the short rib, and the butter cake for dessert. Everything was amazing and the service was impeccable. Very easy to see why Flea Street is a Menlo Park staple.
Yum !! Everything is wonderful! Food, service, bar !! Love
Yum !! Everything is wonderful! Food, service, bar !! Love to have dinner at the bar and watch all the beautiful drinks being prepared.
had nice expectation for that restaurant based on website /
had nice expectation for that restaurant based on website / ''reputation'' / others review - my girlfriend took me these for a special birthday - trully disapointed with several things 1/ food: was ok to fine but really nothing extra special compared to other restaurants in the same price range and catering to the same type of market / customers ... I guess it missed the "WoW" factor ... 2/ ambiance and ''decor'': average - we dined on the patio and frankly the tables / chairs / tableware / placemat looks more like a normal restaurant than what one would expect for this type of place. Maybe it's better ans nicer - more sophisticated inside / indoors ? Plates and glass seemed to have been purchased from the flee market, all different and not that eclectic / artistic and frankly as this would have been fine somewhere else this was really odd there ... sure didn't feel like a trendy / sophisticated cuisine / cool restaurant ... maybe a good idea but badly implemented due to the choice of items. 3/ service: average to poor - the waiter couldn't care less to explain some of the intricacy (if any) of the food or the preparation - we didn't ask but in most places like these the waiter always volunter such informations - we waited 25 minutes between the first course and the main course ... dessert was very good ... so we ended on a good note LoL 4/ other: next day my girlfriend relalized an automatic tip of 20% was added (keep in mind this was a party of two) without the waiter telling us when he brought the bill ... so as she tipped also her tip was effectivley 40% plus of the dinner price ... 5/ recommandation: needless to say we will not go back there and do not recommend to any of our friends going there .... many more and better places to go to in the bay area for this ''class of restaurant'' - In my opinion and based on my experience ... I see there are very nice review of that place by other whom have been there ... I am a bit puzzled ... maybe this was an outlier ? ... maybe not ...

It's one thing to be a really good restaurant as far as food but it's another thing to be snobby about it. I sat at the bar by myself I'm a very friendly guy and nobody was interested in saying hello or asking how the food was. The bartender was offish. I went there once, and I'll never go back again.
Any night at Flea Street is a treat.
Whether it's a special occasion dinner, outing with friends or a bite at the bar. When asked my favorite restaurant this one is always included, and has been for over a decade. I meant to write a review a few weeks ago when my husband and I had the nicest casual dinner at the bar. He always orders the oysters, which are uniquely curated and flavored and never disappoint. I navigate to the McFarland Smoke Trout, a must have. For our entree we feasted on the Cioppino, savoring every bite. While this is not on the current menu, it was fabulous. Two nights ago I again sat at the bar with a friend and had a wonderful time. We over the Borscht and felt great about Flea Street's commitment to making the world better donating profits to Ukraine. The chicken Liver Mousse was fabulous and super generous in portion. Finally we shared the Wild Wild Pasta which had a wonderful earthiness from the mushrooms and brightness from the sun-dried tomatoes, full of the best textures in every bite. I would be leaving out a big favorite if I didn't talk about the fabulous Modern Old Fashion that always delights. The entire staff is kind and attentive, each personally caring about diners' experiences from arrivial to leaving full and happy. Chef Bryan is an absolute gem.
Super cozy outdoor seating with heaters.
My dog was chilling like a boss! The beet stack appetizer was a winner for us! Homemade butter was so yumm! Major points for Veggie and vegan options. And drinks including the non-alcoholic ones were delicious! For mains we had the crab pasta and the miso cod. Both were fresh and delicious, though the pasta was a tad dry but still yummy. Do checkout the menu before you reserve as their menu keeps on changing. Overall, a cozy haven with great food, attentive and friendly service. Can't wait to come back!
Excellent food, stellar service and a lovely small amboance.
Very quaint and perfect for a date night.
This place has a gorgeous ambiance and very nice outdoor
This place has a gorgeous ambiance and very nice outdoor seating with heaters. All of the staff were so sweet and kind! They were also very accommodating towards me as a vegan: - gem salad is vegan without cheese (the dressing IS vegan) and super good! - the chef was kind enough to make a vegan risotto for me which was also very good. I called ahead the day before to ask about options, so I would advise doing that.
The food here is always good, but Chef Bryan has really
The food here is always good, but Chef Bryan has really outdone himself with the Valentine's Week menu and taken things to the next level. The flavors are bold but harmonious. We absolutely loved every dish we had last night. The Valentine's menu goes through Sat if you can still pick up a reservation!
We went a year ago and it was incredible.
We went a few months ago and it was terrible. Toal amateur hour. Maybe the C team was on duty? For the price, not worth the gamble.
While the food was good the service was awful.
Add to that a hidden 23% hidden mandatory service charge for all diners and you're basically just dealing with bad people. I guess since they guarantee a large tip they don't care how well they serve you. I used to like this place prior to COVID but it is so poorly run now that I can't ever see myself coming back.
Loved the cozy local vibes at this restaurant! The staff
Loved the cozy local vibes at this restaurant! The staff were very friendly and attentive the whole time too. The free biscuits for appetizers were divine. Spread some ribbon butter and sprinkle a little bit of salt and it's perfection. I wanted to ask for more but was too shy lol. We ordered the rack of lamb as an appetizer - we thought it would be too small but it was just the perfect size given its richness. It was amazing. For entrees, we ordered the short ribs and risotto. The short ribs melts in your mouth and was very tasty. The risotto was almost too rich for my taste. To be honest it was not my favorite because of the earthy flavors but it was still good. Definitely coming back to try other menu items since we really enjoyed our time.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

I have a similar question, it seems like when money is refunded it doesnt go immediately what is the process of this since its essentially a debit card and not a credit card
