Gabriel Kreuther New York Reviews from The Last Year
came here to celebrate a special birthday and I have to say
came here to celebrate a special birthday and I have to say I was blown away. the food was incredible but what was also amazing was the service. the entire staff wished a happy birthday multiple times, sent out a free dessert, as well as the chef to come and speak with us and sign a menu for my husband. it was such a special birthday indeed and i'm so happy that I chose gabriel kreuther to celebrate. you will not be disappointed!!!
It was the first Michelin restaurant my gf and I ever ate
It was the first Michelin restaurant my gf and I ever ate it. It was a disappointment. The waiter was great. Most the food was genuinely bad. Not just by fancy restaurant standards. I mean in general. One of the dishes was literally the equivalent of a microwaved flatbread. The duck tasted like ham. One appetizer was essentially canned salmon. The cocktails were bad as well, except this one fruity red one. I forget the name. And needless to say, the bill for the sub par food was astronomical. Do not go here. It was one of the biggest dining let downs I ever had.
First time at a Michelin star restaurant.
Very impressed with the service, everyone was great. This was a last minute decision after a Broadway show. Food was unique and not really my cup of tea but I was impressed with the selection and presentation. The rest of my party loved everything they ate.
Tasting menu has unique and delicate courses.
There are lots of cavier throughout the tasting menu. The different types of bread throughout the menu was a highlight and nice surprises.
Fantastic
We enjoyed a wonderful evening! We were fortunate that our schedule was not rushed the evening we dined at Gabriel Kreuther's. The service was beyond outstanding. And our meal was well prepared perfectly. The presentation of each course and service was exquisite. I truly cannot adequately express my feeling for such a wonderful dining experience. The entire staff, we interacted with was extremely knowledgeable of the culinary delights as well as the wines and champagne. We were fortunate to celebrate a birthday and retirement. We will always make plans to dine at Gabriel. Kreuther's when we visit New York.

Worth it! Love the ambience, service and definitely the food. This is a 2 Michelin Star restaurant! And it deserves to be one! It is a kind of restaurant I could only make a dish of because they all need 6-10 people like me to fix the entire dinner from amuse bouche to desserts and after dessert treats. Every sauce and bread and dips are one of a kind flavors immersed.
Came here for a private room corporate dinner.
I got the hamachi which was good but not amazing. The gnocchi was delicious and so was the red snapper. And the tropical cheese was very good. The service was great. We had passed appetizers such as mushroom flatbread which was great and bacon flatbread not my fav but i don't love bacon. The duck fritters were also ok but not amazing. And the veg tapenade was very good as well. The space is a bit old school and i can't comment on the price since i was invited on a pre fixe menu. But out of the Michelin star restaurants I've been to- i would say this is good but nothing out of this world. There's definitely better for the price.
v eastern french slightly german influence with modern
v eastern french slightly german influence with modern flair came here last minute before a broadway show having passed the location on multiple occasions evoking a sense of curiosity about this 2 Michelin star restaurant. we were sat in the lounge area due to a mixup with the reservation party count, but it was still very nice. one of the servers wasn't assigned to our table but we still flagged him down when we were ready to order. yet when faced with questions of the menu and a bit of hesitation, he had an unpleasant air of disdain the other servers and hosts were very nice (except for the one i spoke to over the phone who was very unaccomodating) the food was delicious everything was exceptional except for the foie gras which was just okay and the dessert at the end which was too much chocolate (we didn't know the compliments of the chef were also chocolate so we ordered a dessert menu). would love to come back another time to try other things
Fantastic experience.
Came to celebrate a birthday and the restaurant, from the hostess, to staff, including a complimentary cake with candle, did everything it could to acknowledge the occasion. The tasting menu, with breads, amuse bouche with a star of clams and green caviar, was exquisite. The venison was the best meat I ever tasted. I topped it off a Broadway Boulvardier cocktail (bourbon, smoked), red wine and scotch. Beautiful decor. You see where they get their two stars!!
What more can I add that already hasn't been said about GK.
An absolutely outstanding evening eating some of the best food I've tasted in quite awhile. We sat in the lounge area and service was absolutely stellar. The interior is lush, upscale without being stuffy or over the top. We opted for the 3 and 4 course menu. Everything was absolutely fantastic but the sturgeon and sauerkraut tart, duck breast and venison were three incredible dishes. Seriously, the tart is simply iconic. Price point wise, yes GK is not cheap but a tremendous value for the money spent. I will not be surprised if they earned a third michelin star in the not too distant future.

Loved Gabriel Kreuther! Came here with my husband for our anniversary dinner and really felt appreciated! The space is beautiful and we were sat in this gourgeous area with lots of space between each table. Our server was extremely attentive. By the end of the meal, they gave us an extra pastry for celebrating our anniversary and a hand-written card from Gabriel Keuther congratulating us on our anniversary! My husband has a lot of food restrictions and we were able to order off the menu a la cart. Everything we ordered tasted s delicious! The presentation is just as good as the taste too. The price was so reasonable for a wonderful Michelin star restaurant! Would 100% recommend for those looking for a romantic night out!
We celebrated my husband's birthday at Gabriel this year
We celebrated my husband's birthday at Gabriel this year and couldn't be happier with our choice. The food, the service, the ambiance, everything is top notch! The tasting menu is elaborate and every dish looks and tastes fantastic. The BEST, really BEST, Foie gras I've ever had, and I've fine dined in Paris! I've posted some of the photos from our dinner but there was more. We will be back!
Embrace and Exploration of One Senses
To share is the largest gift that one can give and receive. Arriving, you are instantly comforted with the environment. Perfect temperature, lighting, sound, aromas and the touch of your seat provide comforts usually only felt in your home. Tanner was the person who extended that comfort from salutation to expressing each dish with heartfelt passion. Eating is to replenish your body, this was not that. This was a complete team experience where everything was an extension of ideas that developed over time. The beauty that every team member supports produces a thriving kitchen that spoils us, the visiting family. Thank You Chef Kreuther and your Family.
Exceptional
The food is exceptional, with a mix of inventive and beautifully presented dishes. It's a bit on the fancy side, so expect some more mannered and sophisticated choices. The service is outstanding, adding to the overall high-end feel of the place. The ambience is elegant and perfect for a special occasion or a fancy night out. While some dishes might feel a bit overdone, the overall quality and creativity are impressive.
GB makes the grade as a Michelin two star.
Very civilized, superb food, comfortable ambiance, and competent staff. But no extra touches that might point to a third star. The adjacent bar offers a much lower cost option for those interested in a drink and a light bite. For the latter, bar seating and tables are available.
The best place I ever been.
Food and atmosphere were superb and all of people were so kind.
Chef Gabriel Kreuther is the chef and the name behind this
Chef Gabriel Kreuther is the chef and the name behind this restaurant, offering a 3- or 4-course Alsatian tasting menu, lunch and dinner menu, as well as a chef's table option. We opted to do the chef's tasting menu, which included the following: +Savory Kougelhopf - with chive fromage blanc +Shiso Mojito - with white chocolate and mint powder +Ginger & Pineapple Kombucha - with coconut snow +Meyer Lemon Meringue - with a juniper hush puppy +Mezcal Paloma Pate de Fruit - with aleppo and sea salt +Local Ramp & Potato Panisse - with herbs aioli +Aged Yellowtail Kingfish Crudo - with fermented farro, pickled purple radish, and mandarin vinaigrette +Hawaiian Red Crab - with pickled jicama, aji peppers, and lentil "hummus" +Kumamoto Oyster & Bison Tartare - with golden kaluga caviar, yuzu, and einkorn cracker +Foie Gras Terrine & Country Pate - with honey-poached rhubarb, husk cherries, and housemade butter bread +Sturgeon & Sauerkraut Tart - with applewood smoke, celery, root cream, and imperial kaluga caviar +French White Asparagus Cooked in Kombu & Clay - with garm egg aioli, celery root cream, and imperial kaluga caviar +Baked Bucks County Polenta - with riverine rach water buffalo, local butternut squash, and red wine mornay +Hay Smoked - Two Week Aged Duck Breast - with spiced sweet potatoes, toasted cashew, and apple-mustard brown butter +Roasted Farro & Chicken Consomee - with kelp oil +Carrot - with buckwheat sable, orange cream espuma, and carrot sorbet +Fraise des Bois Frappe Brulee - with sable breton, fresh fraise des bois, and tarragon sorbet +Banana Foster - with passion fruit sauce and macadamia toffee Everything was plated beautifully, and the succession of the courses with its pacing was good. I just wasn't fan of some of the ingredients, such as the mint powder, the farro, or the aleppo as it was too overwhelming and ruined the dish. Service was friendly and attentive. The interior is nice, as it seems like you're having a meal in some type of an enclosed garden or a patio. +chef's tasting menu +overpowering ingredients
The Chef Tasting was truly exceptional.
Despite relatively small portions, the abundance of courses contributed to an overall enjoyable dining experience.
Fabulous
The food was excellent and the service was even better; everyone from the host to the wait staff to the management were knowledgeable, gracious, and friendly. Haute cuisine doesn’t have to be stuffy; the right service will make you feel welcome and comfortable
Exquisite food. Service and related vibe could be better.
Came for lunch as a first timer. We had the tasting menu, which I think was the best decision. It gives you the best sense of the possibilities. Everything tasted great. We got both the cedar plank king salmon and the famous aged duck breast. Both were exquisite. Really every dish was great, but those were highlights, along with the liver late w pistachois. Having visited 3 other Michelin establishments, and being really picky here, I have to mention that service was less than 2 star. Servers seemed shy, barely explained what was being served, and kind of wanted to run away after each dish. It did not seem warm and friendly. Some one star places I went to were better at this. In Europe they would both make more of an effort and even speak to you in English while doing it. Sorry to nitpick, but when you pay 400+ for lunch, you want to be honest about your observations. That being said, I would absolutely come back!
Comfortably a Top 3 restaurant in Midtown. A "must" for special occassions
10/10. Everything about GK is outstanding. The food, and the varying menus. The exceptional wine list and knowledgeable and friendly sommelier. The decor, which screams friendly decadence. The staff are cognizant of your pacing needs. The dishes themselves have incredible balance and unique tastes. Third time dining here, and we'll be back. Superb
Detailed perfection
Well deserving of 2 star Michelin. Fantastic attention to detail never disappoints at this restaurant. Service is always exemplary.
Worth every penny.
I love you Gabriel Kreutner. It’s my third time. The service is exceptional! The food divine. It’s changed a little bit since the pandemic ended. A la carte dining is at the bar area. My 83-year-old mother loves this restaurant, but only wants a small plate and they accommodate. We had two or three amuse bouches. All fabulous. It was about $250 per person.
Head for the Bar
Coming in for my first Michelin experience of the year and I must say I felt uninspired when I took my first bite of their bites from Chef’s tasting menu. Technically, incorrect since I did have some free chips at the bar which by far were the star of my visit and they were free! Ambiance was nice where old style renaissance meets modern day log cabin. It felt like a small space but not sure if there was another room. Service is what you might expect and I do feel most of value is from the service. I only remembered the scallops and the duck as standouts but they were so minuscule and what you can get at any fine, cheaper French bistro. They were touted as best bar food which if I do come back, that’s where I’ll be at because that looks like a comfy spot and those free chips!
Delightful dinner and drinks
Stellar meal, start to finish. All four of us ordered the four course prix fix, and all four of us were delighted by our choices for each course. The scallops were sublime, the coconut bisque was perfection, and the terrine was light as air. The service was wonderful, attentive without being overbearing. One of us had a food allergy that they graciously worked around.

Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate |
Yes unfortunately they are finding more and more ways to lock up sellers money. Sell thru rate, refund rate, limiting withdrawal amounts ler day and per month (which for me are the same number which makes no sense). Lot of sellers leaving as you can see from the lifetime sales not really increasing. Most posts on here are frustrated sellers which is not a recipe for success

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
Reservation transfer issue
Purchased double chicken please for two hours from now and no response from Appointment Trader regarding my name transfer request which I paid for yesterday. I believe the original reservation holder is a bot as it seems like it when i tried contacting directly. Do I have any recourse if they won’t let me in the restaurant?

I purchased a potential reservation but it seems it both debited my account for the value on AT AND charged my credit card the full value. Who do I contact for help? I don’t mind one or the other but both is too much! Help!
