This place is so unique.
It's a board game enthusiast business, combined with a restaurant, combined with a simulated train riding experience! I hesitated coming here before, because I have younger kids (3 and 6), but they actually had a great time. We played a cute dinosaur Guess Who type of game while we waited for our food, which was totally laminated, so that my kids wouldn't destroy it by spilling their drinks on it (smart!!) The food selection is vast. I was a little nervous because of the variety, but everything we got was delicious. my kids split a Hawaiian bread BLT with tots, my husband got the chicken pesto Panini with Gyoza to start, and I got a side salad with gluten-free French onion soup and gluten-free meatloaf and mashed potatoes. It was all REALLY GOOD! It was so good that I saved room for dessert--gf fruit cobbler (my husband got the cookies and ice cream.) Both delicious! The servers and chef were kind and attentive as well. I loved this place and can't wait to take others back here.

What a hidden gem!! We were visiting from out of town and my dad brought us here. It's the perfect place for a family dinner. They have these fantastic rooms set up to feel as if you are a train. Along with your food menu, there is a game menu with 700 board games to choose from. We had a great time picking out a game that we were able to play in our 3 -generation group and we enjoyed the game and our meal immensely. The pretzel and pub cheese appetizer was fantastic. The Mac and cheese was good as was the Shepherd's Pie and the BLTs. We plan to come back with more family on our next visit. Our only complaint is that there isn't a restaurant like this in our hometown!! Bonus: there are vegan and gluten-free options available.

I'm sorry, I am absolutely MYSTIFIED that more people are not flocking this place. I'm from Los Angeles and this place would be impossible to get reservations at if there was a location here. I mean, the Ratatouille Polenta and Totchos were fantastic! There's a full bar, cocktails are made from locally sourced ingredients, food is homey/the menu is built around keeping the games clean of grease, each room's decor is stellar, and there are over 700 board games to choose from!! This is seriously such a cool place, and I will definitely be returning each time I visit the Denver area.

This is a wonderful addition to the community- a great place to gather and play games in a warm and fun environment. They have a huge menu of games available to play, or you can bring your own. The staff was super friendly and generous when we visited. They also host private events and parties! A must visit for a unique experience!!

This is definitely more of a "pay for the experience" kind of place. We ordered the steak sandwich, chicken tenders, pulled pork sandwich, egg nog cheesecake, and brownie. We also chose a card game from their huge menu of games. Food was ok, portions were large. The restaurant was cute and quirky. Service was great. The staff even helped us get started with the game we chose.
Be the first to ReplyI have so many good things to say about game train.
It's one of my favorite spots for many things, but after I tried this cranberry cheesecake I HAD to write a review. Game train truly makes you feel like family, it's just a plus they also have a full bar with seasonal cocktails! They host multiple weekly events, but you're always welcome to stop in to rent some table top games (or bring your own) while you dine in one of their extremely impressive train simulator rooms. The ground shakes as if you were on a real train, with window panels that move as if you're flying by them. The staff is always friendly & the food is the best food I've ever had at a game store. Rent out a room for an artsy party vibe or go in for a date night. It's truly a wonderful experience! And if they have the cranberry cheesecake... TRY IT. If not, the beer cheese pretzels are my runner up go to order
Be the first to ReplyHave been here multiple times and plan on going more.
The staff has always been friendly and helpful. First time I went, I wasn't expecting much for food options, as I assumed it was focused primarily on games. Well, the food was delicious and drinks were as well. I've played a new game or two each time I've gone and have always had a great time

Super friendly service, delicious food and overall fun family night!
Be the first to ReplyLoved this whole night.
Over 700 games to. Goose from and a game guru to help you through the journey. The pizza and beer were great choices to round out the night. Loved the train theme.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is way overpriced and gross.
We are talking frozen pizza and tiny sandwiches for $16. We spent $100 for three people and all we got was sandwiches. We could have gotten steak at outback for cheaper and had money left over to buy a game on the way home! The noise is ridiculous. Rather than sitting a huge group alone in one of the smaller rooms that were empty, they were sat right next to us. They were so loud we could not hear each other and couldn't play our game. We complained but no one wanted to do anything. We have tried this place twice and have wasted far to much money. Do not make our mistake
Be the first to ReplyThis is such a fun idea.
The tables need to be bigger for easier game play, the food was good but not great. It's a fun idea and we had a great time playing games and eating. Great for all ages.
Be the first to ReplyA GREAT place when your looking for something fun to do
A GREAT place when your looking for something fun to do other than just dinner. We sat in one of the train car rooms. It was fun to see the scenery wiz by like you were on a real train. The website mentions you will feel real bumping in the floor but we didn't experience that. The service was great. Super friendly, engaging and helpful!!! We asked for help finding a game we could play and our server set up the game for us and told us the rules. It was super helpful! We were helped by several people and they were all engaging and fun!I am an interior designer and have worked on a few restaurants. I am only mentioning this to help the owners out if they at all would want my suggestions. In the train cars, I heard a couple of people mention that they would like a little music to be played. There was music being played in the main room but not the train cars. It was a little quiet and I believe a little background music would set a better mood. Or even some train noises every once in a while could be fun!I would also maybe provide some small mood lamps on each table and maybe dim the lights just a little more. The dark moody colors of one of the train rooms seemed like it was the more desired room. I think this type of venue leans toward a cozy, moody vibe. Maybe in the larger train room, adding a few more cozy aesthetics and darker colors would help. The food was ok but I think that would be something that could be improved upon and maybe a bit bigger portions on the appetizers.I also think people are loving fun cocktails and although there are a few choices of fun drinks, there could be a few more. Maybe really playing up the speakeasy era. Also adding a bit more alcohol, they were a little weak. But overall, we will be back!!

Fun concept! Only came for a few drinks, but we will be back with friends to do the train simulator!
Be the first to ReplyWhat a hidden treasure.
Wonderful atmosphere and decor for a no rush gathering of 2 or more friends playing a board or card game, lots of possibilities. The food tastes great and is of good quality. The staff are very welcoming. I understand that they can also put on a murder mystery type event which would be such a perfect fit for the old style train car rooms. (There is even a subtle back ground sound of riding a train in those rooms) Great idea for an extended family get together or for a work event.

I initially came across this place having high hopes it could be a potential weekly game-night spot for friends without the stress of hosting. I called in a few days ahead to make a reservation for Saturday night and to my excitement they had availability. My wife and I were the first ones to arrive and were seated in the back of the train car section. While we waited for the rest our party to arrive, we ordered drinks and an appetizer to share. The drinks arrived fairly quickly but the pretzels (listed on our receipt) were never to be seen within the two and half hours we spent there.Once the rest of my party arrived, we deliberated and decided on our first game to play. It would be the only game we would be able to play for the evening. We raised the crossing gate to signal for service and within 10 minutes or so we were acknowledged by a server and placed our food, drink and game (What Do You Meme) order. Again, the drinks came at a relatively quick pace, but we only ever received part of our food order (chips with queso and one of two pretzels = 45 min wait, mac n' cheese = 1hr 30 min wait). The tables seated after us seemed to receive their food before us in a reasonable amount of time. After about an hour of socializing and playing "What Do You Meme (Family Version)" our party decided on selecting another game so we raised the Crossing Gate and signaled for service. After another 10 minutes, who I assume is the game master came by and took our order of two games (Camel Up & Poetry for Neanderthals). Unfortunately we would never see this gentleman again nor the games we requested. It seemed service had ceased to exist after this part of the evening. The last interaction (essentially the final straw) occurred when a female server asked to take away the What Do You Meme game and hand it to the table next us. She didn't check in to see how we were doing nor acknowledge the fact our crossing gate was up. After this interaction, I immediately got up and went to seek the attention of Jo Ellen. I explained to her about our bad experience here, and asked to cancel the food items we never received and close out.It breaks my heart to write this review because I really wanted to like this place. The ambiance and game library is impressive, but the lack of service is something that needs to be addressed and improved upon.
Be the first to ReplyWe had some time to burn before catching our flight.
This was a awesome solution! The kids enjoyed the library of games (700+). All were in great condition and the process to switch out games was very easy. The food was fresh. The service was helpful and prompt with food and drinks. We did choose to sit in the "window" seat of the train and it was fun. Pretty realistic, our daughter thought we were actually moving.

Met a couple friends here for a fun Friday night! The service was awesome, which was surprising considering they were also hosting a whole murder mystery party in the other room! And the food was SO yummy!! We got the artichoke dip, tots, and pretzels and I wanted more of all of them. Such a fun place to go with friends, on a date, or with family. :)
Be the first to ReplyCame here for my birthday.
Everything was amazing. The food, the service, the games, all of it. I loved the themed rooms. We were on the train and it was so fun. Can't wait to come back!
