Love Ginza! Everyone here is incredibly nice.
My usual go tos: Salmon Toro 10000000/10, Salmon Ponzu thing also 100000/10. They also have a scallop rice dish and it's incredible. Love it here!!!!!

Went for HH, sushi was decent quality and solid but nothing super noteworthy. Karaage was not great to me, it was a little dry and stringy rather than the thick and juicy pieces. Hamachi Kama was really good, there was a lot of flesh on the bone and tasted quite nice. We tried several of the rolls; fish quality was pretty decent and they had a good amount of options on the HH. Pretty good deal during happy hour and I'd go back to try some of the other rolls.

Discovered this place on Yelp while looking for places to eat for dinner in the Haight/Ashbury area. Luckily, my friends and I were able to go during their Happy Hour, where they had various selections of food to order at a discounted price. We ordered the following: - Garlic Edamame: An appetizer that never misses - Sashimi Tasting (1 order per person): We were served with Salmon, Tuna, and Hamachi with radish, fresh seaweed, and a shiso leaf. Very fresh and tasty! - Rock & Roll Roll: Contains eel and avocado drizzled in unagi sauce, very good! - Salmon Avocado Roll: Delicious! - Philadelphia Roll: Similar to the Salmon Avocado Roll, but also has cream cheese. Some other places put too much cream cheese, but this roll had the right amount! - Handrolls: I ordered the Spicy Salmon Hand Roll without Sriracha, but I kind of wished I ordered the Spicy Salmon instead for a little more flavor - Umeshu Fizz: Plum Wine with Yuzu Juice and soda, super refreshing and sweet! I would order this cocktail again We definitely took advantage of their happy hour which is 4-6pm on the weekdays, and we left the place with happy tummies. There was only one server working at the time we came, and she was so friendly and tried to accommodate everyone dining as best as possible. The sushi chefs were also very welcoming when we entered the restaurant. It wasn't super crowded when we went, and the inside has nicely decorated walls. One item I want to try next time is the Salmon Usuzukuri!

I was suspicious when walked in but they surprised me very positively. Suspicious because it is kind of dark inside. But food are so delicious and unique. Our server is so pleasant and upbeat. I will definitely come back for more. You should try when you are in Haight Ashbury neighborhood.

Be the first to ReplyMy sister and I came in on a whim after a show.
The service was okay, but it seemed like the person was still in training. The sushi was really fresh and the chefs choice sushi melted in the mouth. I will definitely come back again!

Will definitely go back whenever I'm in San Francisco

Ate here after walking the neighborhood a bit with the family. The host and server were both pleasant, and appropriately attentive. I made a reservation, for which I had to email the restaurant and they email you back, sorta clunky. Food was very meh. Had three rolls and some gyoza. The gyoza were overcooked, and the rolls were not awesome. The kids were not digging them, and they usually love sushi. I was in the same boat, they were not good. We had the ginza roll, daduru roll (which was the best of the three), and I can't remember the third, but if they had either a spicy or crunchy tuna/salmon, it was that as that is the kids #1 choice. The place is spartan, little décor, feels a bit dingy. I would not return, nor do I reccommend.

Walking in we felt comfort, something we always look for when dining out. The service was perfect which created a lovely ambiance. The food was great, we finish everything less than 10 minutes. Everything was savory with every bite. Coming back very soon.
Be the first to ReplyTotally decent place for sushi.
Eaten here like 10 times. Exactly what you'd expect. Definitely more of a "I'm hungry" kind of place than a date place. Definitely good for groups.

The outside of the restaurant doesn't look like much at all but the food is fresh and authentic. Very attentive service and the food comes out very quickly. Great option for a no nonsense good quality, well priced, quick Japanese meal. Good sake options also.

It's very unique and so yummy. Their sushi is very good too. I love their sashimi chef special. This is my go to restaurant for when I'm craving Udon.

Went here for dinner before going to a concert nearby, and it was a great time! Ambiance is v cool (perfect for a Friday night), service was efficient, and food was yummy. Especially loved the salmon miso cream and ribeye kare rice; Ginza roll was solid but for sure needed a little soy sauce/wasabi concoction to provide some moisture. Wish we tried the dessert options! They have Mille crepe & Tokyo cheesecake and we wish we coulda tried it.

Be the first to ReplyScallop udon was amazing.
It came with a side of tempura. Rib eye curry was very tasty too. The spider roll and the Sakura roll was also good.
Be the first to ReplyI came in on a Sunday day during lunch hour.
It wasn't busy at all but I felt that the service was slow. It was my first time dining in, I usually order take out. But what's super frustrating is that their classic rolls (i.e..California roll, spicy tuna roll) aren't offered on GrubHub. I don't know who's to blame for that but it's very inconvenient. Anyway, I looove their Umi Roll. It has scallops and parmesan, not your average roll but soooo good. They serve 8 rolls for the Umi. Along with the classic rolls....when I was able to order one in the restaurant. I like that the rolls are not too big and made well and neatly, maybe that's why the service is slower, they might take their time preparing the rolls? I would say this place is worth trying. I'll continue to order from this place. I'm just hoping I will be able to order their classic rolls when I order take out.

Great place!I live up the hill and tried Ginza sushi for the first time today.I don't like green onion in my sushi but they ask first so I dodged that one.I love it that they actually serve the edamame steamed, hot and lightly salted.Nice ambiance and great service. If I'm lucky enough to find parking again I will be back.
Be the first to ReplyI really like this sushi spot and the fish is as fresh as
I really like this sushi spot and the fish is as fresh as it ever was- but the portions are shrinking to the point it's compromising the food.Take the Umi roll for example: Once a perfect balance of savory parmesan cream and the delicate taste of cooked Hokkaido scallop, the cream now overwhelms the roll because the scallop portion is teeny tiny. The chef's choice sashimi was delicious but again, repeat customers can't help but notice the shimmering sashimi slices are 30-40% smaller than they were.Service was grumpy, plates were clunked on the counter with finality and when we asked for gluten free soy sauce, the server had a terse exchange with the sushi chefs then plunked down the plastic Kikkoman jug in front of us. Serve yourself! (Thank goodness I wash my hands like a surgeon and used the hand sanitizer when we sat down because I had to pop open the gummy cap with my fingers). I hope this experience was the result of post-holiday blahs and Ginza will return to its excellent self.

Came in alone ; ambiance was great, soft music playing so it wasn't extremely quiet (in the best way). Waitress and service staff was fast, allowed for a quick order. I ordered the Rib-eye steak kare rice + the tokubetsu sashimi matsu. the steak / rice / curry was amazing, and so was the sashimi! money well spent

Definitely come here for the happy hour! The boyfriend initially discovered this great deal and we have now perfected our order.Happy hour is from 4-6pm and their hamachi collar is the best deal we've ever seen. We always order the chicken karage, california roll, hamachi collar each, rice and beers + sake. We end up super full and our wallets are definitely happy! It's relatively easy to find parking, but if you're on foot - definitely check out all the cool stores nearby. It's honestly such a great meal to start an adventure!
