t was definitely not worth the money.
The food was fine, but have had equally good food at restaurants that cost a fraction of the price. There is a certain arrogance with the staff and they seem full of themselves. The Service was horrible. When I first was it, I went to use the restroom and wash my hands. It was a mess and there were no paper towels. When I left the restroom, I informed the staff that I need to be serviced. At the end of my stay, I use the restroom again, and nothing has changed. It is the first restaurant in a long time where I refused to pay the service fee or leave a tip. The waiter disappeared for 25 minutes. Our drink glasses set empty and we did not have spoons to eat our desserts. When our server finally brought the bill, I pointed this out, and he was actually upset with me for not telling him that the service was bad. How do you tell someone that the service is bad when they are not there for you to tell them? This restaurant definitely does not deserve a Michelin star. There are plenty of other restaurants in London to spend your money at. Skip this one. It is not worth it.

I've been to this place several times, always with friends that wanted to either visit for the first time or go back because they somehow enjoyed it. Although the food quality is ok, the atmosphere and venue is trendy, it's overrated and over-priced! Charging a bottle of water something like £10 is a bit harsh. I think it is a nice place to get invited than to invite..

Had 2 world class dishes but the rest was ok to really bad. The server seemed too NOT CARE.For all the hype just not up to standard Had the Phoenix menu. The duck salad and fish were outstanding but went downhill fastThe server could have cared less.Be forewarned
Be the first to ReplyProbably our worst dining experience in all of London.
Ate here on Christmas Eve.Service was very slow. When our server did show, he really wasn't in the mood to answer questions about the menu but did inform us that the kitchen was CLOSING. We ordered. A guy came by with our peking duck to show it to us, took it away, and served it to us 20 minutes later ...it was actually pretty tasty. After cleaning up the table and before serving us our entrees, he did stop by to tell us that the bar was CLOSING. Drinks took forever to arrive, along with our food. Food was good, not amazing. Dishes sat at our table forever. Finally, we flagged him down and asked for our check. That also took forever. He sent over the manager who was some rude, self-assured guy who didn't want to hear of our dining experience...he just wanted us to leave. Two words of advice...1 - Don't open on Christmas Eve if you aren't going to provide quality dining experiences. After being rushed to order, sitting forever waiting, being treating rudely, and spending over $500, we didn't want to be there either.2 - Visit your sister restaurant in NYC...much better dining experience with experienced staff that actually make dining a pleasure.

Underground venue. Fixed course meal. All the veggie dishes were amazing...the dumplings, vegetables, and even the dessert. Definitely expensive but worth the splurge for a big night out (or if you are not paying). Incredible!

For our last dinner during our visit to London to see the family, it seems appropriate to celebrate it with a bang! Bang indeed! We almost fell off the chair when we received our dining bill!!This place is posh, I recommend dressing properly since you already decided to spend this much anyway. The recommendation is set menu, but if dining family style ala carte is probably the best since not everybody likes to eat what's on the set menu.We ordered many fancy dim sums, dumplings, noodle dishes, seafoods, beef and pork dishes. They really elevated the Chinese cuisine here. The dishes came in timely fashion and our servers made sure that our wine glasses are appropriately filled. My only qualm is the entire restaurant is so dim that it took me awhile to read the menu and appreciate the ambiance.Over all, this is not the place that I would dine in on a regular basis. The price here is astronomic, even if the family don't mind splurging in some occasions like this.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely fantastic and unique dining experience.
Fascinating drinks, great wine list, and uniquely modern twist on Cantonese menu dishes. Huge portions and great value. Oh, and the service is first class. We loved it and will be back every time we are in London!

This place is pretty hard to find, but fantastic and a really nice space once you've found it. The menu features modern versions of traditional Cantonese staples. We ordered lettuce wraps, tofu/aubergine/mushroom claypot, and vegetable fried rice, and it was all as good as upscale Chinese food gets. They were extremely accommodating of our dietary restrictions and made a huge effort to make substitutions. Great space, great good -- highly recommended.

You heard it right!Their set lunch on Sundays are amazing bargain:For 62 pounds per person menu here is what you get:Pre lunch cocktail ($15)Half a bottle of Roderrer Brut Nature ($35)Set lunch: dim sum platter, one main and side, deserts. Good quality dim sum, both steamed goodies and fried delicaciesAfter meal cocktail ($15)Assorted DessertsSo I'd say you basically paid for your 2 cocktails and the half bottle of the Roderrer each and the food and dessert is free.No sure what the business model is about, but food is good quality, great classic dim sum authenticity, lively ambiance with live DJ starting at 1pm, what else can you get for 60 pounds?

the environment is nice, it needs a long time to enjoy the meal. Every plate is delicate and delicious, the dessert is so great, and the cocktail has a lot of flavors in it, it's beautiful.
