This place is an icon and a must visit.
Service is great and for such a little place, everyone really makes you feel welcome. This is the place that the Bellini was invented so that's a must. It is a bit expensive but how can anyone pass up a speak easy from the past. Influenced by American ideas but all Italian. Really enjoyed the place!

It was OUTSTANDING! Yes, €22 is a lot for a Bellini but you're paying for the experience. Outside of that (which I didn't mind - I wanted a Bellini where they were invented), you get more than you pay for. Everything, from the bread to the entrees to the dessert & service was wonderful. I enjoyed the amatriciana; interesting that it's a white sauce at Harry's rather than red. Our waiter pointed it out & offered to add tomato if I preferred red sauce. My son had a magnificent beef filet; at least 2 inches thick & cooked exactly as he requested. My husband had a deliciously light tagliolini with bacon in a cream sauce; said it was one of the best pasta dishes he's ever had. We went in as I wanted the Bellini. We ended up absolutely delighted with our dinner. What a wonderful experience!

I think Harry's bar is Extremely overrated and beyond overpriced. I'd never come back. This was actually my least favorite dining experience during my 8 days in Venice.

Not worth the money!! Been there, done that!! 30 euro for a bowl of mediocre soup!! Two soups, 2 Bellini's and a bottle of water 131.00 euro!! We have had wonderful meals for half of that!!
Be the first to ReplyAn absolutely essential place to go.
..... Wonderful ambience, welcoming waitstaff, delicious drinks etc and Earnest Hemingway practically lived here during his writing years! You can feel the presence of so many historical figures and enjoy the pleasure yourself in present day Venice!
Be the first to ReplyWe went to Harry's Bar while in Venice.
We had the Bellinis and slice of cake. We were celebrating my husband's birthday. It was crowded. But we were able to get a table. Service was good Bellinis and cake were spot on.
Be the first to ReplyBest bar I have ever been to.
Period the people that work here are the best of the best at what they do, and they work hard and maintain an ambience of class and execute to perfection.
Be the first to ReplyTotally over rated.
Snooty staff who wouldn't seat me in the upstairs window, which was wide open the whole time I was there, of which I had requested months in advance. Bellini wasn't a patch on those found at The Gritti Palace or Restaurant Terrazzo Danieli. Certainly won't waste my time next time. Food wasn't all that, either. Most disappointed.

Cannot wait to go back to Venice! Harry's was an experience like no other and the Bellini's are my favorite drink. Love the appetizers that come out right away. Staff is so kind

Small place but perfect drinks! This is a very tiny entrance but once you cross the threshold you are in for a treat.
Be the first to ReplySuper crowded.
Expensive as anything but a great spot to try for the Bellini! The staff is dressed to the nines with white coats and impeccable service. We were served a bowl of green olives with pits at the bar while there. Lots of happy people here and it got very crowded. It is very touristy and with Harry's inventing the Bellini, it's must see.

We dropped in for a Bellini at the birthplace of the drink, but the bar was crowded and the drinks were overpriced, though delicious.

Awful not even worth the reviewSMH! Will NEVER return! I'm sure it doesn't concern them but it was a huge mistake treating me the way they did tonight. HUGE MISTAKE!
Be the first to ReplyThis place is amazing and old school and charming.
Anyone complaining about prices or the size of bellinis just doesn't "get it." Had the best pasta and the best service!! Staff is kind and helpful if you are kind to them.

On a recent trip to Venice we came to thisrestaurant for dinner. They have a first floorbar which was crowded with locals and tourists. This place is famous for the invention of the Bellinicocktail. The second floor is a gourmet restaurant.Reservations are a must for dinner. We started out with a Bellini. Now this drink seems to be a contentious issue with many patrons. It isonly about 6 ounces and costs 22 euros. It wasdelicious, but definitely not worth the money..During dinner we split a bottle of sparking water. For dinner we split a pasta entree to start. It was a delicious plate of tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce.Next we each had the veal with polenta. This had to be the best veal I had ever eaten. Fork tender and cooked in a delicious sauce. The entrees are pricey, but they give you a healthy portion. This place is for occasions or a one timevisit as a tourist. The bill came to $235 euros fortwo. Other restaurants we patronized for dinnerIn Venice cost us about $65-75 euros. We did not order dessert after dinner because webasically ate pastries and cappuccino all day whilesightseeing. Dispute the price I would highly recommend thishistoric place for dinner.

Went to Harry's Bar with a group of four because we were told it's a "must see" in Venice. I understand the history behind the bar (and restaurant), but after going it's more of a "must pass". If you really really really have to stop by Harry's Bar when in Venice, by all means walk in for a signature 23 euro Bellini. No need to dine on a 68 euro pasta dish when you can get better elsewhere for 12-14 euro. The one saving grace is the wait staff if dressed nicely and the ambiance does seem 1930s, but like I said pop in for a drink if you must and pop out and enjoy a much better dinner elsewhere for a quarter of the price.
Be the first to ReplyThe most overrated disappointment in Venice.
Soggy noodles(no knowledge of what Al Dente means),crowded with servers banging into customers & more then twice as expensive as any decent restaurant or Osteria. Everything "Cipriani" is more mediocre. This 1932 historical Venice dining room should have evolved,it didn't! Stay Away is my recommendation. 10/16/22

Meh. Heard so much about this place, but it was only okay. Got the famous bellini which was fine. So many amazing places in Venezia. This was not one of them. Worth going to I guess to say you went.
Be the first to ReplyDid you really do Venezia if you didn't have a €22
Did you really do Venezia if you didn't have a €22 bellini, in the home it was created? I think not! You'll hear zero complaining about the price from me, a cocktail at the Ritz in Paris runs me €34 and I'm known to be a more than one drink girl, a sour at GHT in Lago di Como is €30 so in all honesty the €22 was on par for a two ingredient drink. We stepped through the door around 7p to grab a couple of their famous Bellini's and there was no way I was passing up the delish slice of cake. Dessert before dinner is just who I am. We had flown in from Vienna so I was totally still in cake mode. This gorgeous cake melts in your mouth, is super light and was scrumptious paired with the Bellini.I don't love Bellini's I'm way more of a Bourbon or Tequila gal but I came here specifically for this drink. It was tasty, but I was just taking in a little cocktail history if you will. Service was fantastic, we had a perfect little corner booth so we could take in the place. I'd definitely recommend if you're visiting.
Be the first to ReplyWe had to check out Harry's & as my helpful Yelpers said
We had to check out Harry's & as my helpful Yelpers said the Bellini's were 27 euros, very small .... We saw it & moved onward. However, Harry's is on the water, near the gondolas and in the designer section on Venice. We passed Tiffany, Fendi, Louis Vuitton ....

A bit pricey but worth every pennies! We like their dress code, for men - no shorts, no tang-tops, and definitely no flip-flops!Food and service are fantastic! We were well greeted, walked in with no reservation, and the server was extremely helpful! Their tagliatelle is to die for-- along with everything else - from spaghetti to sea bass!We were allergic to all nuts and they made sure our foods were well prepared.
Be the first to ReplyHarry's has history on its side.
Step into the 1930's as you enter the wood paneled bar with waiters elegantly adorned and prepared to serve the rich and famous from an earlier era. Unfortunately, it now smacks of one part museum and two parts tourist trap. The birthplace of the Bellini thanks for former bartender Giuseppe Cipriani, Harry's now charges 22 euro for a modest sampling of the beverage. On a recent visit I paid 54 euro for two Bellinis and a bottle of water. The Bellini and the "free" olives were delicious, so there's that. . .

I'm from LA, so i know that things are not always what they seem. Even by LA standards this place is overhyped and overpriced. Portions are small and food is below par. Plus, there is no AC. If I'm going pay 25 euros for a drink, I'd rather it be on the Sunset Strip. Thats what I get for watching CNN and listening to Stanley Tucci!
Be the first to ReplyThis place is overpriced and full of tourists.
Not worth the money. The ambiance is not nice and the food mediocre. The prices outrageously expensive. Also rushed us out.

This place is a stop if you want to see some Venician history. The first bilini and carpaccio were invented here. It is very expensive here but if you want to have the experience it is nice. The view from the restaurant room is incredible.
